I give this hotel 10 stars, me and my fiancé stayed this past weekend and they took care of us from the time I made the reservation to the time we left. The front desk had answered all my questions and I requested a top floor room and they granted that with a room on the 27th floor. The room was perfect for a couple. The location is perfect and close to everything (times square, subway, saks 5th, Bryant park, Rockefeller tree, Central Park… etc). Rooms were very clean and the maid was very nice and helped with clean wash cloths when I asked about exchanging and never got upset or made it a big deal. The front security made sure to check our temperature and made us feel very safe with the COVID situation. I will definitely stay here every time I’m in NY city.

Enjoyed our visit to the Wellington hotel last week. The hotel is so convenient for the local attractions, like Central Park and Times Square. With the subway right next door all the other attractions are so easy to get to. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was was good, cleaned very day. The hotel was a great base for our trip to NYC. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Large rooms, comfy beds and fantastic location. Unfortunately no crockery or cutlery in kitchen which was surprising?
Would however highly recommend and would definitely return.

I LOVED my Wellington Hotel experience. We enjoyed traditional NYC hospitality from curbside valet to attentive, friendly, knowledgeable front desk staff, bellmen, and more. The clean, spacious suite was adequately appointed. Super clean — SUPER clean. Elevators are slow, but the perks associated with mandatory accommodation fee make up for that. I adored the old-school turnstile door and central location to so much of New York’s midtown. Our only less-than aspect of the stay was a lack of in-room thermostat. Our room got hot fast and we didn’t have an adequate way to regulate it. Thankfully: windows that open :-) This hotel’s rich history, attentive staff, and truly outstanding front desk make it a “will return” for me.

It gave us my husband, my daughter and me the utmost pleasure to stay in the Willington Hotel nyc for 10 days. Great location as it locates between the Times squar and The Central Park, it' also near to many other sight seeing. Very clean suite and very helpful amazing stuf.

I have stayed here twice now. Both times the staff have been amazing, the rooms are clean and well put together. It is close to midtown Manhattan attractions making for an easy walk anywhere. Being an older hotel you hear nothing from neighbors with the exception of an occasional hall door slam. I’ve had the pleasure of park view and city view rooms, and can honestly say I’m not sure which I enjoy more. Thank you for another wonderful visit, I am positive I will be back again!

The Hotel Room was awful & eyesore. It was smaller than college dorm. The building was much dated & not exactly as the pictures depicted on their website. I had requested for 2 beds for 4 people & I was provided the world’s tiniest room. The bathroom was 6*5 & none of the online pictures showed that smallest bathroom. When confronted they asked me to empty my room & store my luggage in storage room & only allowed me in another room later in the evening. I was technically paying for room price all this while. The next room had bathroom which had a wall right in front of the toilet pot because of which any normal height person couldn’t sit straight on the pot & have to sit sideways. I took my in laws & it was very annoying experience. I did not have enough energy left to confront the service desk & move the room the second time with my family & all the luggage I had. I was there to enjoy the NY city & not waste my time packing bags & explaining my issues with the hotel. A/C &TV channels were not working, carpet was stinking & wet in few spots, resort fees $60 they had no such facilities of resort.

We enjoyed our stay here. Rooms are comfy, especially the beds! Handy location and pleasant staff. The air conditioner was old and very noisy. Couldn't hear the TV unless I turned the volume right up. Would have given 5 stars otherwise. Would stay again though.

Would definitely recommend this hotel. The rooms were small, but to be expected of a N. Y. Hotel. It was very clean and well maintained, dated, but nostalgically so. Towels were a little small and thin, but no biggie. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. As part of your hotel fee you get a pass to a local gym and spa, as well as a voucher for a free manicure nearby! Definitely a nice bonus.

I have been to the Wellington Hotel three times and I am going again on the 26th July this year I love it wouldn't stay anywhere else the staff are very helpful and friendly and the doorman is to it's clean and oozes lots of character love it.

Old hotel in a good place with optional breakfasts at exorbitant $35, no fridge, no usb chargers, with internet on password and only two devices, no tea set in the room, the door to the room is as old as the room itself, without soundproofing, Clean, everything is fine.

I was a bit worried after reading some reviews, but I’m glad I stayed at the Wellington! It was the easiest check in and check out I’ve ever had at a hotel! When we got to our room (yes, it was super small but you don’t go to NYC to stay in your hotel room all day — it did the trick! ) the room was super warm. We called the front desk and they sent someone up promptly who set it right — nice and cold, just how I like it! Everyone who worked there was super friendly & helpful. I drove in from Boston and was concerned about how the valet would work (I don’t drive into NYC often) — I didn’t see anyone directly out front so hopped out of my car after pulling up to the curb, went inside, asked for help from the men standing at the desk & one of them followed me out directly to take my car. Offered to help me with my luggage, etc. Smooth service! Location is perfect! And I have to say, the waitress Alba at the Park Cafe right next to this hotel, was great! Get their pancakes, delicious! I’d definitely stay again.

Woke of with a stiff neck and tweaked back. Honestly I’ve worked hotels and restaurants so I typically don’t complain. But overall just a restless stay.

The hotel is old. Upon arrival take a deposit of $100 card or $200 cash. Why, don't you understand? The mini bar is not available, which you can drink, extras too. Asked whether you can order a taxi, said you can and only a day-$69. As a result, around the corner approached the Hilton hotel and sat down on a taxi with a fixed cost of $52. Breakfast is not a buffet but acceptable. Orange juice and regular coffee are included. If you want a cappuccino, the juice won't bring.

Traditional Hotel, large, super comfortable rooms… excellent location, friendly staff… easy to make yourself understand if you don't speak English very well.

Old Hotel. Service leaves a lot Q want, do not clean the rooms well, do not help to get on the strollers. Room with veery bed comfortable, but they don't give you anything if you don't pay it. Wi-Fi 14 dollars per day, a scam. There's no Dehar cars if you rent one. They charge you all apart.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Wellington hotel. The location is absolutely perfect close to all subway lines you could possibly need and even walking to Central Park and Times Square was very easy. The location for the price can't be beat. The room was incredibly clean and well kept. Staff was so nice and welcoming and helped me with any issue I had. It was safe and I have no complaints at all. I do recommend.

Location is great. The hotel is old (or historic) and suits are big and have kitchen and a big closet. Bathrooms are small. We had a comfy king bed. The rates are great. 1 hour late check-out is allowed for free but 2 hours cost you $35+tax. The bellboys are older men and they are mostly stubborn and rude but helpful.

If you are among the tourists who consider the hotel only a place to rest in the evenings, then the Wellington is a super hotel. Two steps, but really two, between Times Square and Central Park and the Metro stop (57 St — 7 Av lines N, Q, R) is just ideal for touring the city.
The style is a bit vintage and the rooms are not bad, comfortable and clean though not so wide. The staff is extremely friendly even when you choose to change room as it happened to us. As in almost all American hotels, breakfast is not included, but you can make it in the ground floor room… not so cheap… Recommended instead the many locals across the street.

It would lack to solve the noises of the heating system that are avoided by turning off the same one at night and add even if it is games of 4 cutlery, medium plates and cups, since there is only the glasses is the bath and you have to buy all disposable…

I had a pleasant experience at Wellington. The staff was nice and friendly, the check in took around 15 minutes. The room was pretty small but cozy and very clean, the bathroom as well. Everything was shiny and fresh towels. Comfortable bed and really comfortable pillows that made me sleep like a lion :) The only reason I gave 4 stars is the thin walls, because I could easily hear the people next door laughing and talking in the middle of the night. Other than that I'm very satisfied. The view from the window is pretty awesome too, especially in the night.

It was very good, we stayed for one night; The building is a bit old the service was fine although you do not have "free" access to your Wi-Fi network unless you have booked from your website, otherwise there is a price to pay for the use of the Internet and also only give you a defined number of devices that are You can connect to the Internet depending on how much you pay for this service which I think being a client staying in the hotel would have to be included. Room and bathroom were clean.

Great location if you want to be in midtown next to all the buzz. Hotel is clean and comfortable. Didn't have much contact with the staff but the housemaid was very nice. Only negative for me was the air con. It didn't work when I wanted it to. It was cold in March April and I needed a little heat in the room and it just kept blowing cold air. I did report and they did send an engineer to look at it but that's all he did, look at it and left. Tea and coffee making facilities would nice. The cafe downstairs is very busy. The one across the road is far better. Try the 9 ten cafe across the road too.

People were very friendly and helpful. Hotel was very clean and beautiful with it's histotic charm. The hotel is very centrally located. We saw a Rangers game at MSG and did a food tour of Greenwich village. My first time in New York City. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. My experience was awesome. It is very well located just 2 blocks from Central Park and about five Times Square. The rooms are small, like the rest in new York, but they are nice. The service is good. The food in the restaurant is very good and it is very well served, the prices are regular.

Well, I travel for the first time to NY, from Argentina, they recommended the hotel and according to how most guests feel, the location is excellent! I just hope I am assigned a quiet, comfortable room with good bed, good bathroom, heating and hot water. I am concerned to read some comments regarding the attention of staff, services, etc.
We do not speak English and we are a mature couple wanting to spend sooo well in a city that we want to know for a long time. I hope to publish my experience, pleasurable and without inconvenience, on my return. Atte.

Small room and shower room tiny heating which makes noise short hotel very average for an excessive price.

I LOVED this hotel. The location was just perfect. Not only is it walking distance from Central Park and Times Square, it's also just a lovely hotel. From start to finish the hotel staff were brilliant and helpful. Our bed was super comfortable and the hotel room was perfectly sized. The only issue we had at all was the fact that we couldn't figure the shower out, which was our own fault. I was concerned having read the other reviews of the hotel about noise and slow elevators, etc. But I found check in fast, the elevators were fine and I was so happy with the cleanliness of the room. There is a shuttle bus which runs to all the NYC airports which was so so handy. The price was brilliant considering the location and the service we received. Also it's right next to a Subway Station huge plus!

The only good thing about this place is the location. It is old, loud, and they do not represent themselves well with the parking charges. When checking in and asking about the parking he said they provided parking. I said do you need any money, and he said no we provide the service. In fact, we received no other notification at all of any charge until check out. When I questioned paying it, the young man at the front twice told me that he thought I was just lying to avoid the charge. The manager was not available at that time and I have called several times to try to speak with her and there's always a problem with the phone system.

Old quirky hotel in a brilliant location. Stayed four nights on a budget deal so price equalled expectation. Rooms cleaned to high standard everyday. Good diner attached to hotel offering plenty of breakfast options to start the day. This is NYC, enjoy the whole experience.

Would I recommend this hotel to a tourist who is looking for a good adventure in new York city? NO, this hotel is definitely rubbish. Let's start by describing your amazing elevator that you have to wait at least 10 minutes to get to the floor you are in. The rooms are girls, old and smelly old.
The only good thing about this hotel is the location, 3 blocks Central Park and 7 blocks Times Square… and the guy who opens the door is a drink. Oh, I almost forgot something of great importance. They don't have free Wi-Fi and the Wi-Fi prices are overly expensive. It is amazing how in the 2018 do not have free Wi-Fi, are some rats!. This makes you waste time at the attractions in search of free Wi-Fi to talk to your relatives. Greetings and go to another hotel.

Wonderful hotel! Our room was clean, and better than expected. We had reservations for one room for four people. Ended up with a converted room that had two bathrooms. This is an old building, it has it's quirks. But it's been well kept over the years. The staff were friendly and helpful. Close to times square and Central Park. Highly recommend staying here!

This hotel was very … average. It’s an older spot and the rooms are tiny, but that wasn’t a huge deal. It doesn’t look as old as it actually is on their website though, I will say that. We had problems with the AC the entire trip, it just wouldn’t work. Thankfully, it was February and chilly so we popped open the window. The hotel itself is in a great location (walking distance to Times Square, Rockefeller Center and other touristy spots) and has it’s own restaurant — the food there was good. It’s priced well so if you’re okay with staying in a less luxurious spot, this is the place for you!

Location is top! Bathrooms are too small but the room is OK and is clean. At night the air conditioners make a lot of noise and sleep is almost unthinkable. So if you want to sleep quietly, try another hotel. The cleaning of clothes is very expensive and you have to bring them yourself and repeat them at the reception.

Perfect location for sight seeing, hotel is old and dated, no kettle in our room even though I requested one, water was often freezing cold and room was freezing of a night, staff were nice and polite, went for food in the cafe once, that was enough worst food I have ever eaten, we stayed over the new year, would only book this hotel again if nothing else in the price range is available.

Very well. We arrived long before check-in time and also got the room. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was very good. The only bad thing was the small bathroom, but nice and clean.
Having read other bad reviews about the hotel, I really don't have any complaints. Both the heating and hot water went very well.
It has very good location, and the subway is almost at the door.
I would recommend it without a doubt.

Comfortable, clean, bathroom is very good the water is pre-warm. The only negative is Q There are always a lot of people at reception, it is a hotel with many rooms and little staff for reception. Otherwise good price equation service.

Too expensive for the services that the hotel offers. Very good bedding. The rooms are too small as well as the bathroom. The cleaning is done on the go fast. And it's way too noisy. The reception is beautiful but that's it. The windows froze from the inside (see photo)

We will definitely be returning to the Wellington. We had a beautiful suite at an affordable rate. The location was perfect for walking to the theater and accessing the sub way. The Wellington has a glamorous feel to it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My only word of caution is the store attached to the hotel. Don't buy ticktets to any show from them they double the rate.

I absolutely LOVE everything about this hotel. It's older which means you have more space and a lot of charm. We stayed in a suite which had a king bed in one room, 2 queen beds in another room, a kitchenette and nice size bathroom. The rooms were extremely clean and kept up daily by housekeeping. She left extra shampoos, conditioners and soaps daily which was a plus since we are a family of 4. As I read other reviews about how the hotel should update the decor, extend the elevator etc I feel sad because that would take away the charm. There are plenty of places to eat very close by, Times Square and Rockefella Center are a walk away. We will definitely stay here again.

For an Argentine in new York who doesn't know English. I don't recommend it.
They make you feel bad. There is no permanent disposition of a Spanish-speaking person. I had problems with the Wi-Fi… pay three days and I only had 1 day of connection. And they don't understand you when you ask. They put a soap on the first day and never again. Then you have to use if or if the shower gel…

The hotel is very well located, right between Central Park and Times Square, with many subway available in the area.
Per SE, the hotel is not bad and its rooms have the basic comforts, the staff is attentive and you can leave the suitcases free of charge, as well as being able to print without charge the boarding pass of needing it.
The downside is that if one goes to breakfast it is advisable to order it to take to the room because the place is small, there is waiting and one can be in the queue until about the check out time. Breakfast is limited to certain options.
With regard to the Internet, figure through the pages of travel agencies that have free internet but this is only available if you ask the room through the hotel page, not through the agency page.
As I said, the rooms have the basic amenities. The problem radoca in the size and the central heating: The double beds are cold and the double bed with a hell.
The heating is turned on from a batch and the Windows obviously cannot be opened by the height of the hotel (it has 26 floors). If it is very hot, there is no way to ventilate, and if it is very cold there is no way to heat.
Anyway, it's a good option to stay on a visit to new York.

First room we were given, could not open the suitcases, there was no hot water and the view a wall. We complained and got a room with some more views, 2m squared plus (we could stretch our legs =) ), although the heating made very very rare noises, I was going when I wanted, the hot water had to turn on 3h before showering.

The finishes left a lot to be desired, the slit of the broken heating, as well as its frames. Cold air was coming in from the street through the heating.

Clean hotel with plenty of space right in the middle of the tourist atmosphere in Manhattan. Rates were fantastic for Thanksgiving! We were close to the parade route and were able to check our bags during the parade, and while site seeing during the day. We were extremely happy with the deluxe double double room, and even had 2 bathrooms, which made getting ready in the morning very easy! Would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is very nice type of the years 40 and 50 the staff of the reception is a crap of arrogance make you sign up and do the entrance until 4pm and have little staff for this afternoon more than 45en do the entrance yet and CUA do the bags are already e the Conserge since you arrive in our case the 12pm However the manager Zac is a very very friendly person and von Great criterion what helped the situation.

Stayed in a two bedroom suite with two doubles, a single bed plus a microwave and fridge. Although the air con/heater was rather noisy the comfortable beds made up for it. Great location really close to times square and central park. Subway station outside and a starbucks across the road what more can you ask for. Lovely hotel for a great price.

We stayed a week at The Wellington. We really enjoyed the location and the view. Their customer service was awesome and their house keeping was also great. I would definitely recommend this hotel as it is family friendly. They do not offer complimentary coffee or food, but it is fine as there is a coffee shop across the street. The rooms are large and the beds were very comfortable. We stayed in a suite and it seemed like a big one bedroom apartment! I would definitely recommend this hotel and I could not have asked for anything more!

We had to cancel the reservation that provided a penalty and instead, through the booking request, have not charged anything. I would say.

Great location, but something has come up in the years. I thought only we here in Berlin have pampiges staff but in New York there is something like that (or are they just too cool? ). The staff carrying the suitcases are completely taciturn and to my question why my pizza guy at 22.15h is not allowed to bring the pizza to the 14th floor, there was only a short, "so we do this here". Old school Hotel, downtown. I really liked it, liked the location, amenities. Room was small but clean and quiet. Really slow elevators. Enjoyed the 24/7 diner on the main floor.

The parking service damaged our car. We were only able to get the free parking as compensation. The receptionist was super dumb and nasty. There were hairs in the bathroom. There was no free Wi-Fi and it was really expensive. Parking is $35 a day and it does not mention it when booking. I work in a hotel and I found that all this is unacceptable.

The room was clean, but definitely dated and small. Location was great for us, right on the N, Q, and R, and a block or so from E line. Walking distance to Gershwin Theatre and Times Square. They lost our reservation, even after confirming a few days prior. Elevators are slow and cramped, plan extra time for leaving during peak hours. Overall, a bit pricey but it was clean and convenient.

Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… Stay at Wellington Hotel was perfect mainly because of the location. Few blocks to Times Square, Subway station right outside the hotel which takes you to downtown and uptown. The rooms very clean and comfortable. My room had a decent view of few big buildings but not the Times Square side. Check in and check out was a quick and hassle free.

Ideal location, comfortable room, metro station RQNW at the exit of the hotel. A few steps from Central Park, very friendly staff only small downside it is announced that we speak French at the hotel, no one at the reception spoke our language. Excellent value for money service. Free Wi-Fi.

The location is great, 2 minutes from Times Square and Central Park. It also looks like a very organized and clean structure, but beware that many things, such as Wi-Fi, are not included in the price and the rooms are a little bit small. All in all it is a good solution and to recommend.

Først night we had No aircondition. Room look dirty and sheets smell soap. Small beadroom and bsthroom. We got upgraded to at suit the next Day. A bit lager room but still not happy with the room. Ok place og you Just need a place to stay. The suit did not have refrigirator. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Nice hotel. Stayed here Nov 2015. Great location to Carnegie Hall, museums, Central Park and Columbus Circle, and tons of restaurants. Kinda old looking, but very clean and simple inside.

Worst hotel I ever stayed in so far. My stay was from 13th May to 18th May and except location nothing is good with this hotel. The rooms are out dated there is no coffee machine in the room and when I asked for one the sent me the machine but did not give me the coffee (like that's the basic thig). Very disappointing. I strongly recommend not to stay in this hotel ever.

This was the best hotel ever. I felt like heaven in here. Everyone is kind, but the kindest worker was the maintenance man, Stanley Bookrey. He helped me with all my questions. Great hotel!

The hotel is very fitted and there are too few elevators.
Service was quite OK. The window should be yet soundproof, would then be much more to recommend the (small) rooms.

Arrived in NYC on 12/20 for a mom-daughter-granddaughter three-day Christmas sightseeing/shopping adventure. The hotel was the first of many WONDERFUL happenings for us. The staff (Margaret at Reception, Big Mike at the Concierge Desk, and Scott on the Door) all treated us like VIPs. No request we made was too much trouble. Our room was gorgeous, the location of the hotel was perfect, the food in the restaurant was excellent, and in most cases the people we encountered shattered the myths about New Yorkers being disconnected and rude. Being a senior, I was apprehensive about two women and a child staying in NYC alone. Not anymore. I'm already planning another trip for the three of us and you'd better believe that the Wellington is the only hotel for us in NYC. There's a Starbucks on every corner and once we found Magnolia Bakery the sugar high kept us charged and ready to shop. The hotel manager, Stanley, even helped us load of luggage when we left. Thanks, Wellington staff, for making us NYC lovers! We'll be back soon.

Room was nice and roomy. Service was sub par. Room service got our order wrong. But overall we enjoyed our stay.

Best customer service I have ever encountered! We stayed 5 nights in December 2015. Our flight to New York got cancelled and our next flight we booked got delayed. I called the hotel to see what they could do if we couldn't make it since we selected a no refund option through travelocity and they were very kind and assured me that they would do whatever they could on their end to refund our night. (All we have to do was give them the flight number for our cancellation. Our flight finally made it (8 hours later) and when we arrived to The Wellington, they had a note about my call, apologized for our flight trouble, and upgraded our room for free! After the horrible day at the airport, it made me feel like our trip was going to actually going to turn out okay. The location of the hotel is superb. You can see Times Square and Central Park from the sidewalk at the entrance. The subway is also right out the door. Our room was small (but hey, it's New York! ) but it was very clean, great shower pressure (bathroom seemed updated) and the AC/heat worked great. I highly reccomend this hotel. :)

Fast and friendly service at the front desk. Aside from being innundated with check ins, they were helpful and even upgraded my room. I WILL come back here any time I'm looking to stay in midtown. Wonderful, absolutely wonderful!

Super value for money, excellent location (5 min. Up to Central Park, 10 to the Timesquae), easy access to the metro network, clean and spacious rooms, all in all very much recommended!

Love! 3rd time staying there (March 2014/January 2015/September 2015) and I have not been disappointed yet. Great prices! I have had 3 different types of rooms and they have all been clean, decent sized and comfortable. The staff is helpful, knowledgeable and friendly! PERFECT location for the subway, central park, broadway, times square and all the great attractions but also not completely in the middle of the "tourist traps". I will always stay here when in Manhattan!

I've seen some mixed reviews, but for the price couldn't really pass it up. Decent location, 10 minute walk to the heart of Time Square. The staff are pretty friendly. Hotel itself is very old, but they do a good job of keeping it classy, there is no A/C in the halls only in the lobby and rooms. I had a two bedroom one bath suite, quite small but I was only their to sleep. In one of the rooms the A/C stopping blowing cold and of course it was the night before we left so there was nothing we could do. Elevator's are very small as well, no more than 5 people can fit in one. I usually just took the stairs down. There is a small restaurant next to them and if you pay a bit extra you get a voucher that allows your to eat for free as long as the meal does not go past $15. Seeing how I was in one of the greatest cities on Earth with many different restaurants I opted not to get that package. Overall good place if I ever come back to NYC I'll most likely come back as long as the price is right.

Excellent location. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff. It was everything I needed without the extra dollars. I haven't stop talking about my experience at the Wellington Hotel. Next trip to New York the first place I'll look for accommodations will be here. Central Park is about 3 blocks away and Times Square is about 6, a train station is right next to the hotel. Once again, thanks for contributing to an awesome trip.

Small room. No AC in lobby, in elevator. AC in room was horribly loud. Never staying again. Would have expected better for $178.

Was super. Top and the rooms were always neat and clean.

Small room. No free Wi-Fi. No coffee brewer. Air conditioner is annoyingly noisy.

For the price it is ok I guess, the beds are comfortable too. AC went out twice so breakers had to be reset. But that didn't affect the room temperature, they took care of it quickly. Construction workers woke me up early in the morning, lots of banging. The only thing I did not like was the small restroom. It was so so small you had to sit sideways so your knees wouldn't hit the wall. Lol.

Average stay at the Wellington. Cannot emphasise enough how great the location is, especially for visitors looking to see Broadway shows, walk around Central Park, etc. The room was quite comfortable but the walls are thin and I could hear our loud neighbours very easily. The ground staff was very nice — housekeeping, concierge, etc. But encounters with the reception were less so. It's a good hotel but they were particularly snooty and unprofessional. We checked into the King Suite in two groups — my parents checked in before me in a reservation made in my name, and while this had already been pre-arranged and confirmed, it did not show in their records, not our fault but my parents were treated unkindly and as if we were trying to take advantage of the hotel. Also, when I called to ensure that all was okay with my parents, I was talked to condescendingly. Furthermore, the front reception unnecessarily requested both a $200 deposit (which is normal) AND a $100 hold, which we were told by one of the receptionists was required on top of the deposit but when I checked out, we were told by another that having both was unusual. Luckily, the man who checked us out was much more accommodating. Would recommend purely for the location — but if you're looking for the perfect stay with a comforting environment, this is not for you.

I have stayed here twice and I loved it each time! First time for two nights in March 2013 and again for 5 nights in January 2015. We had great service, great prices and an amazing time! Hotel is in PERFECT location for everything! Would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

Lovely hotel for the money reception helpful doormen great help give lots of tips on where to eat organised transport to sirport for us. Rooms wuite small but for yhe time uour in them not a problem. Shower amazing. Rooms cleaned everyday. Great location step out of the front door of the hotel and Times Square is a few blocks down, you can see all the bill boards straight infront of you it awesome, I loved it and you woll too.

I traveled to this hotel in a group of 4 and upon landing, we were completely overwhelmed by the humidity and the heat. The lobby of the hotel was very well air conditioned and it was quaint. We were 4 hours early for check-in but the staff were extremely welcoming and immediately took to checking up on our room to get us in early. They offered to hold our luggage for free as well, and allowed us to roam, but we decided to just sit in the lobby and wait. About an hour later, we were taken up to our rooms by a bellhop who transported all of our luggage. When we got into the room, we forgot for a moment that tips were also to be given to the man who helped us, and it was an awkward 2 minutes when he stood in the room and quietly stared at us without saying a word. A mistake on our part, yes, we later ran down to him and tipped him. Prior to arriving, I had e-mailed the hotel and asked if it was possible to stay in a higher floor with a good view. I also asked to stay in one of the newer rooms as well, since I had heard that the hotel was also under renovation. The pictures on the hotel looked new to me, but the staff had replied to my e-mail stating that those pictures were outdated, and so I was in hopes of a better room. It wasn't.

It's a good location! Close to subway, Central Park and plenty to choose from to eat. The room is a lot smaller than there pictures on the site, but it's comfortable. It could use some new curtain and a toilet that's not so low, bathroom is small you will definitely have to take turns going in there.

Old hotel charm right in the middle of all of the action. Great place to stay.

Loved every minute! Went for my birthday and we were upgraded on arrival which was a nice surprise. It is a real New York hotel and I recommended it to my friend who also stayed and loved it. I'd definitely stay there there next time I go to New York.

I added my traveling partner to a reservation because I got delayed a day, got acknowledgement that it was ok to do so, and then they refused to check him in. Even when they were shown proof of the emails between myself and the hotel they refused, and quite frankly, were not very nice about it. Since then, I've contacted the hotel and have been blown off and talked to rudely.

Spent it very well and above all, because perhaps it was holidays more beautiful that I spent with my wife, in a wonderful place! I recommend it, is also very close to the theater district can walk without problem.

Very good location for a tourist visit. While its facilities are outdated, and if we compare it to the Spanish hospitality at a three-star standards very simple and without any kind of services.

The rooms are very small, but clean. However, the air conditioning in the off condition for extreme noise is responsible, in addition, noise comes to still streets what contributes not just to sleep. Also, the breakfast is lousy. The coffee is black water, the food not extremely bad but Loveless is slapped on the plate and the staff is not really motivated.
My conclusion: It's quite alright because the situation is really very good.

In the end I came to love this hotel. Firstly me and my BF were put into a really dodgy room, the aircon wouldn't turn off unless you put your hand in a dodgy hole and fiddled out near the wires. The room was dirty and tiny (The door actually nearly hit the bed). By this point I was tired from a long day and flight and the room was not acceptable. We complained at reception and they willingly moved us and upgraded us to an Empire room (or something like that) and the room had a great view, HUGE bed and lovely bathroom. It made the trip to NY instantly better. The hotel was clean and the staff were helpful. The maids are OVERLY helpful, on 2 occasions we had the do not disturb sign on for a well deserved lie in and the maids still came in at about 12pm. So you'll get peace up until noon. Our Wi-Fi suddenly stopped working as the signal didn't reach our room anymore, staff gave us a full refund. The hotel was nice though although I'd advise booking the more expensive room first off.
