Great housekeeping staff; friendly and caring. Loved the doorman with the tall hat; he made you feel special and cared for. Great place.

Great venue, the sound and lights were awesome, beautiful crowd. I can’t wait for another concert like that.

The ushers make the place. The audience was generally terrible with all the indiscreet coughing and even a loud screaming baby. Orpheus chamber orchestra was and sounded magnificent tonight.

Had the absolute honor & privilege to sing at Carnegie Hall this past June. To perform on stage where so many greats have created such beautiful music was a phenomenal experience! It is an absolutely gorgeous venue, has amazing acoustics, and I will always treasure my experience of a lifetime.

This is one of my favorite places! The ambience is calming, the sound is outstanding and I always enjoy myself. Perfect for date night and those days that you just want to be alone.

The last time that I was at Carnegie Hall was when I was in Junior High School, I don't really remember the play that I have seen, but all that I really remembered was that the play was great, and going on a class field trip to Manhattan's Carnegie Hall was the best trip of my life… oh the wonderful memories of just being a kid going on a class field trip is so unbelievable.

Saw Kathy Griffin. Was a great show. However, because it is a historic building some restrictions apply. Only 1 elevator was working and it doesn't take you to the top floor so still walking is needed if you are handicapped. Drinks from the bar are not allowed inside the auditorium so chug chug. If you have vertigo, the balcony is not for you since the stairs are very steep and narrow. Lastly after about 15min you will wish you picked a different venue. Chairs are stiff and rows are close together. At 5'7" my legs did not fit in the row causing my knees to literally be on someone's back. All in all if comfort is what you are looking for when being entertained, wait for the show to play somewhere else.

Amazing experience. My 2 friends and I bought last minute tickets for the NYO Jazz Concert. We sat way way way at the back but still the sound quality was amazing. Also if you’re a student they will give you $10 off! Best $10 we’ve ever spent!

Music venues cannot get more beautiful and historical than Carnegie Hall. Not only is it aesthetically gorgeous, but it is conically amazing as well. The exterior for this space is so unsuspecting for the modern design elements inside. The stage I was in had great acoustics, without microphones, and we enjoyed our performance a lot.

Love, love, love this venerable institution. Every time I go there I remember with a pang that it was almost destroyed six decades ago and am thankful that NYC was not devastated by such vandalism. Many memories of great performances. Yes, yes, I've heard complaints about the lack of leg room (it was built for smaller people of the 1890s) the scarcity of bathrooms, the madding crowd trying to gain access to the elevators and the ticket windows. If you want modern, head over to Lincoln Center (also quite wonderful) but for historic, understated elegance and fabulous programming please support Carnegie Hall with your presence.

Amazing concert venue! The acoustic are great! The workers are a part of a union so it proved to be difficult to get them to work quickly and effectively. Seating is mostly good. Some seats are blocked from seeing the stage but again, the acoustics seem to be great from everywhere.

This is one of the most famous music centers in the world. It was built by the famous philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, whose name it bears today. On this scene were dozens of celebrities from the worlds of classical and pop music. From 1892 to 1962 here was housed the New York Philharmonic. The building is very beautiful and represents a major landmark. Its location is into the most saturated with attractions area of Manhattan, not far from Central Park, Rockefeller Center and so on.

Dears in Carnegie hall, I've attended with my partner the performance on March, 29th, the Richard Strauss's Der Rosenkavalier by Bayerische Staatsoper.
I was really looking forward to visit the place, one of the world's "Mekkas" of classical music, where Maestro Antonin Dvorak conducted the world premiere of his New world's 9th symphony.
But, unfortunately, we left the Carnegie hall very disappointed in the first intermission. The cause was not the performance of the Bayerische Staatsoper, which was great, but the setup of the Carnegie hall (Isaac Stern Auditorium / Ronald O. Perelman Stage) operation at itself.
We've got the tickets to the balcony part for the seats, which have not been marked as seats with restricted leg room, but none the less, it seemed to us, that the seats were designed for dwarfs: the head of the man sitting in the row in front of us, was directly between my knees, and I am only 1.87 meter tall. Under these conditions, it was really physically painful to watch the performance.
Moreover, there are no restrooms in the balcony area and only small bar not to be able to refresh all the people sitting there. We've been watching elderly ladies to be standing next to their seats just until the real start of the performance to reduce the pain of sitting on such seats. These ladies was also climbing the very steep stairs to the balcony area.
On my opinion, this is not how famous concert hall should look like in the 21st century.

What can I say; it's Carnegie Hall. I've been there hundreds of times. It's one of the greatest concert venues in the world. If you live in New York or if you're visiting New York you owe it to yourself to hear a concert at Carnegie Hall. I suggest a symphony orchestra fom a major city such as Philadelphia, Cleveland, San Francisco or even Berlin. But if a symphony is not playing during your visit a piano recital is just as nice. I suggest arriving a little early about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes before concert time and just walk around and see the beauty and decor of the hall. If you can, go all the way to the top seats and look down at the hall from above it's an amazing sight. Or take a tour of their Museum or just go to the bar and have a drink. If you're not a huge classical music fan you can look up the New York Pops schedule and go hear a concert of music such as light jazz, Broadway tunes and film scores with many guest soloist from around the city and elsewhere. I promise it will be an evening you'll never forget.

Absolutely amazing place! Wonderful architecture, beautiful and cozy seats, interesting museum. The guide was very knowledgeable and opened my eyes on some historical facts that are not in Wiki even) It was very useful to see the first hall in the world that was made by Carnegie in the rounded shape. Concerti's famous New York room.

Not what I expected at all. The stairs are so damn STEEP and the aisles are so narrow. I would rather sit in coach on an airplane. And the Acoustics were very muffled. I had such high expectations for this Grand Theatre but they sell very short. Radio City Music Hall is way better so is the Metropolitan Opera and what used to be known as Avery Fisher Hall.

We went to see Madame Butterfly and really enjoyed the play from a box. It's a wonderful theater. The decor and the room is imposing. In addition to the show in the lobby, in the halls there are photos and souvenirs of the artists.

Excellent place with wonderful acoustics is at the level of great musical scenarios.

Great concert in a wonderful concert hall.

A nice theater with a great history, but it isn't nearly as grand as I was expecting and the acoustics are fine, but with microphones and speakers it's hard to actually tell. If you sit in the balcony keep an eye out for the ushers running around like crazy people to yell at anyone with a phone or who stands or does pretty much anything, better try to enjoy it because they seem pretty rude about it and are very distracting. If you sit anywhere else they don't seem to care. The seats are comfortable, but the seating is poorly designed and vision is a bit limited of the stage even for a taller than average person, good luck to anyone else. Saw the pops and they were awesome, a fun group to see here.

One of the most famous concert halls in the world.

Came for a symphony orchestra show. The entire building is beautiful. The show was magnificent — the sound is very nice, kind of warm. Seating was a bit cramped, but overall not bad. There are a few seats where the view is directly blocked by a column, but aside from those I would say most seats have a great view. I would definitely come back for another concert.

Nice and historic performance hall. Seats are a little bit small but acceptable. For some seats you have to lean towards in order to see the conductors and soloists. You can also stand behind the seats if you don't interfere with others. Remember to bring as less stuff as you can since there is security checking at the gate. Sometimes there are low-frequencied sounds while the concerts are performing. I am not sure what they are (subway? ).

I just love the atmosphere of the place. I wanted to go inside ever since I heard they do various shows for a long time. When I heard that Distant Worlds was going to be there for one night only, I just had to secure my ticket. The staff were friendly and the sections of the auditorium was well-lit and organized. I sat in the balcony and the view was nothing short of amazing. I would definitely come back to a future show or just browse around the various goodies they have to offer.

Classic. Luxurious. Wonderful. There they played summit meeting. The two geniuses. Astor Piazzola and Gerry Mulligan.

Christmas Eve String Orchestra This review is for the venue, although the show was superb. Carnegie Hall is a testament to the wealth of Andrew Carnegie. The entire venue is opulent and rich. Walking up to the Carnegie you can admire the architecture as warm lights accentuate the trim work and building construction. Inside everything has a rich red velvet and gold trim. Our tickets were in the first row and center seat of the orchestra. From that angle it was difficult to see the entirety of the orchestra and instruments, but the acoustics were still excellent. I would have preferred the mezzanine level or 5 rows back. Being from Pittsburgh it was a nice touch on the vacation to see another contribution in the world from Andrew Carnegie. His legacy as both an industrial titan and robber baron live on.

A great place for listening to the best of the best, located on 57th street between 6th and 7th avenue built by mr. Tiny seats, little leg room, no elevator so expect to take the stairs. Many of the seating rows hv a dead end on one side; so once u seated inside u can't leave without making everyone get up. However the amazing performances make u forget the inconveniences. The hall has an old world charm with its decor, velvety red seats and dressed ushers.

Great venue and excellent concerts. Check often for additional concerts and shows. The performance quality and variety is excellent. I love that there are so many different options to choose from when I am looking for a show to enjoy. Keep up the great work.

Probably one of the most famous concert halls in the world, or at least the most famous in the United States. The main hall is absolutely beautiful. If you’re in NYC, try to see a performance here at least once so you can experience the hall and a world class concert. And if you get the opportunity to play here, take it. Performing on the stage is something you will never forget!

Great place to see anything. Fantastic building and always a good seat. Drinks available for purchase. Bathroom lines can get really long so go before you arrive. Get there a little early and enjoy looking at the details for this famous NYC location.

All the 1000+ other reviews have been here more than we have. Let us add that when we can get first and second tier seats on the railing it makes a wonderful visit incredible. It is like visiting an old world performance on the continent. We have purchased tickets late in some seasons yet the magnificent acoustics etc can never make up for something you plainly do not enjoy.

I performed here as a part of an orchestra, and the backstage area, the beautiful stage, and the views from all around the room were exceptional. The backstage area was snug for a full orchestra, however, but it wasn't small. The stage certainly lives up to it's reputation.

The old saw of how do you get to Carnegie Hall — practice is certainly true or like me, you can just buy tickets. I have several subscriptions and it's money well spent. The acoustics and the setting are amazing plus the talent. It's a wow!

So glad NYC determined to keep this place thriving! What a fabulous history, awesome acoustics, nicely preserved. Wonderful programs for all levels of performing arts. So blessed I got to sing there. Bravo!

Staff were wonderful and acoustics perfect, but the air conditioning and stairwells have a delay to them and are uncomfortably hot. Backstage in the orchestra doesn't have the room for enough people so a sufficiently large orchestra (like one I was in) may be forced to take multiple trips with the freight elevator or have a large group take the stairs. One of the orchestra prep rooms has only 4 bathrooms outside the dressing rooms so there may be a waiting line. Dress Circle has many seats that are a 9pm.

What a beautiful venue, everywhere you seat you have a great experience. I've been living in NYC for over 5 years and never had the opportunity to visit CH until last week when a friend organized a scavenger hunt and one of the places was this! We learned so much about if before hand and appreciated every detail and second of the beautiful orchestra we went to see. You can find great tickets on the day of and anything you go see is actually worthy, just a thought. A Must-see for a real nyc experience definitely!

Nice New hôtel, in a perfect area for visiting NY.

The hotel was beautiful and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms are beautiful! The one thing I loved the most is the location. It's right next to Carnegie Hall and not a far walk from both Central Park and Times Square. Overall I am very pleased with my stay and will definitely be coming back next time I'm in NY.

Worst experience of my life.

Tho we are new to NYC visit and have no experience with hotels, we both find this brand newly renovated hotel wonderful. The young staff are so eager to please. The room is a marvel with modern devices and decor. If ever given a chance to tell our friends this is the place we will send them on their trip to the big apple.
