Small but very clean. Perfect stay. In a great location, close to bus and subway routes. Yet off the beaten path, so nice and quiet but easy and fast to get anywhere else. Loved the staff. Perfect place to lay your head before hitting all the usual tourist haunts.

Great location. In fact, best I've ever stayed at and I've been to Manhattan dozens of times. Rooms are extremely clean BUT small, and outdated. Great view of the River. I recommend staying here if all you're doing is sleeping and sightseeing. If you're looking for a luxury vacation, look elsewhere.

Quaint hotel on Riverside Drive, very clesn, but small rooms. View of the Hudson River and the waterfront park is beautiful. Very inexpensive rates for New York City.

It is much cheaper than the other hotels in a surrounding areas and it's good for a few nights to sleep, however the rooms are so small that the bathroom has no sink, the elevators only fit two people in them, our double beds are one bed that pulls out under the other, the lobby looks like an oil change service and the beds are not the best. But it's cheep and a place to crash, and it seems clean.

The property is very old. The carpets are old and dirty, so are the walls. The rooms are oddly constructed with a bathroom the size of an airplane bathroom connecting the two bedrooms. There isn't much space in the rooms as beds occupy the small area. The decent ammenities in the room are provided such as Wi-Fi, microwave, fridge. The staff however is very courteous and polite.

Pretty good accommodations for the price, affordable, great location and friendly staff. However the single room is extremely small, the bathroom was tiny.

Super nice, spotlessly Clean, gorgeous river views in most rooms. Rooms are small but mattresses and bedding of very high quality. A real find.

Top floor Room: Very small but nice view of the river. Cleanliness in the standard, nothing exceptional. Great location and reasonable price. Ask for the rooms on the high floors.

Excellent… simple but very good. It has a refrigerator, cable TV, microwave and very good Wi-Fi. To go alone to sleep very good.

We had a room for 4 separated in two by the bathroom. We had a great time and no complains. BUT do not stay at the lower floors, there is a very bad smell and the rooms are not renovated. Hopefully we had the chance to change floor.

The price for being in NY is very good. I recommend to ask for a double room in suite (two rooms connected by a bathroom) as for 1 couple and 2 guys. Before you accept the room, check the pressure of the water and if the taps regulate good temperature. The care is very good, they speak English and Spanish.

So it is a very small room, which I could deal with. However, the temperature in the room goes way up to way down, and there is no way to control it, and it's super, super dry. Woke up at least 4 times in the middle of the night and had to chug a whole bottle of water. Would of rather spent a little more for slightly better hotel.

It's okay to go to sleep…

We had to change our hotel. Did not have hot water, it is very very tiny and the last day that we were the water was going so decided to move.

The Riverside Hotel was pleasant to stay at. It's located quite closely to Broadway and Central Park. I hardly had to walk to find food and fun. The room itself was quite small even for a one person room. But it was adequate for my overnight stay. I could hear other patrons in the hall way and the elevator was especially tiny. But I would come back and stay with them a second time.

Very uncomfortable. It is not suitable for families. No hot water or laundry facilities. The rooms are clean. I don't recommend it.

This hotel should clean up it's act . For the price I was disappointed. Dusty and not so fresh. The staff was nice to help where I needed it, but much improvement could be made. The linens blankets old. The window was stuck. Downstairs also was a bit unrefreshed. The bed was comfortable.

Pros: The Metro very close, Central Park a 10 minute walk, low prices.
Cons: The building is really old, the Wi-Fi does not take well (sometimes for nothing! ), the room is micro!

It's a once-upon-a-time dorm that was converted to a modest and modesty priced hotel (when we book ahead). We go to NYC for a theater and museum weekend, and we always get a (tiny) two room suite with a fabulous unobstructed view of the river. The rooms are simple but clean. We like the quiet and pleasant neighborhood with many nearby non-chain restaurants. It's a great family-friendly base from which to enjoy the city. The staff are always pleasant and attentive.

Old hotel in a good neighborhood on Upper West Side. Close to Central Park & American Museum of Natural History. Not luxurious but it is inexpensive and in a quiet area. Views of Hudson River. We stay here regularly and it works well for us. Rooms have mini fridge and microwave.

Pretty sloppy, which is expected from a hotel so cheap. The good thing, is that I had a microwave. The bad thing, the first 2 days it was hot and it went to clean up. The last 2 days went to clean up and it was cold in the room. Another negative point is that the stove is a tube that goes across the room that makes a lot of noise. And in the bathroom there was another tube that drew air at all hours.

We live in Montana, but our daughter lives on the upper West side. We always stay at the Riverside Tower, and have for years. In the rare case that we don't get reservations in time, and they are full, we feel really bummed. It feels like home to us. We love the location, the vibe, and the people running it. Highly recommended.

Simple but well placed, a staff at the top.

People were amicable and helpful, but the place is slightly old. More or less what you'd expect to get if you're looking into staying in Manhattan on a budget. Yet all the basics are there, and very convenient to head to the subway. Also, there are many attractions nearby, Central Park is just a walk away!

Not the best house in the place but it is clean and people help at any time.

Four stars for location and price. Hudson River view available, across from Riverside Drive. Three blocks from 79th Street subway. Small rooms but great if you need a quick, economical getaway… シ

Good value for money Clean Hotel is very convenient for visiting new York.

Very poor hotel, rooms are only about 2 x 2 meters tall, elevator only goes when he wants and the doors are thin as paper.
All in all simply an expensive relegated.

I wasn't sure what to expect since it's way cheaper than other hotels here but I was pleasantly surprised. The location was great and in a safe area. The staff was very nice. It's small and older but was great for the price. I loved the New York feel of it. I would definitely recommend it and stay here again.

No fancy but well located, affordable choice. Basic comfort and old stuff and furniture, but a lot of light and air, clean sheets, no issues an nice staff.

Rooms are small and kinda quirky but it's a great deal to stay here. The staff is always friendly and helpful. This is not my first time staying here while visiting the city and it probably won't be the last.

Hotel in the old high-rise house. Nothing special, but cozy and cheap for New York. He's always stopping him.

It was a little bit of a hotel. In renovation because the structure is very old. On the other hand very close to Metro 79st Line 1 so very convenient location. Clean, quiet and linen change on request every day.

There is nothing better for the price. Each room has a big window THAT OPENS. Fridge and micro on one side. Each side has it's own vanity/sink/closet. Walk to Zabars, Broadway shopping, cafe's, Francis Ford Coppolla's restaurant, subway, plus Ubers everywhere. Multi-million dollar homes all around, lots of dog walkers at night, nannies during the day. Charming with all the tree-lined streets. You can drink to your hearts content and only be a block or so away.

Love it, is not a luxury hotel but clean and neat. The staff is great and the location is a plus. 3 blocks down the natural history museum and 5 minutes on the metro to Times Square. This is my hotel next time I will go to NYC.

Been here before, going back again. C'mon, a room in NYC for $135? On street parking? 3 blocks from the subway (and an incredible world class deli)? No bugs, no bums and a helpful friendly staff and a restaurant, too. Program your GPS & it's a snap to get here; usually easy traffic (for this city).

The staff were helpful and cooperative. Upon arrival the room was extremely cold. It seems as if there was no heat on. It's bad enough it was already cold to turn on the TV to find out there was only about 4 working channels. The showers were about 2 by 3 feet wide; very small. There was a day I woke up to find out there was no water. We called the receptionist about 2-3 times to figure out what was going on. She was nice enough to give me a room with water but the water was FREEZING COLD, no hot water available. Who bathes in cold water in the winter? Besides all of the negatives, this place was fairly convenient. Two tiny blocks away from the subway station, and a lot of stores surrounding the neighborhood. Great employees.

Great location, sits 3-4 blocks from Central Park that overlooks the River. Honestly, it's not the best place, and with the size of the rooms, you get the authentic New York experience, but at rates $90/night, you really cannot go wrong. It is clean though. I went for nightly walks around the neighborhood, it's really safe. Also, it's about a block away from the subway so that's an added bonus. When I was there last year, I met an elderly couple who always stays at this place when they come into town. For the budget traveler who wants the privacy that a hostel can't offer, this is a must.

Small but adequate. The rooms are a bit tight but thats what you get in NYC I guess.

It's not a modern facility but the price is right and it's nicely located. The room however was exceptionally small. I just imagine the apartments in New York the same way, so in the end it gave a nice cultural experience.

This hotel is absolutely the worst Ive ever been to. The rooms are incredibly small, there aren't any locks on the doors and two rooms share the same bathroom. Any guest could easily walk in at any time of the night. Some rooms have mini fridges and microwaves, some don't… Mine didn't. The only thing that was good was the view over looking the Hudson River, but that SHOULDNT be a selling point because you would have to be fortunate enough to be on a floor high enough to see the Hudson and in a room that faces out toward the Hudson. The rooms are poorly insulated and not sound proofed you hear everything. I would give 0 stars if I could.

Cleanest hotel I've ever been to with an ideal affordable location in the greatest city in our country. "American Made".

Comfortable and well situated no frills hotel. Good room amenities. Missed cable TV though. Only local channels available.

I have just concluded a week's stay here at the Riverside Tower. I will return. All the staff were helpful and pleasant to deal with. There is a charming little cafe attached to the lobby where you can treat yourself to freshly, home made pastries, excellent coffee and sandwiches. The cafe serves as a gathering place for guests and Wi-Fi is available. I was concerned because I thought 80th street was "in another country" but in fact it was very convenient to public transportation. It is quiet and next to Riverside Park, a lovely place for a walk. Two blocks away lots of neighborhood stores and restaurants. I am so glad to find out about this area of the city.

A little musty smelling, TINY but clean, and comfortable. Considering its great location it's hard to complain.

I have stayed several times at this hotel, always in a "suite", back before 9-11, when the rooms had bare pipes around the ceiling and clanking radiators to 2012, when many if not most of the rooms have been updated, exposed pipes gone, a nice, quiet place to shower and sleep after exploring the city all day. Yes the rooms are small, but most are in NYC at much higher rates. I have never seen a bed bug, or roaches, the staff is friendly and helpful. I am returning with my sister next week, and staying there again. We like the "suite" as it offers both of us a TV, I sleep with mine on, she likes silence, and the Fridge and microwave are a big plus, as are the individual sinks and mirrors in each room. The bathroom is small but functional. This hotel is close to everything, which makes it even more appealing.
