Great experience at Carvi hotel! The front desk workers were fantastic, helpful, and very kind. The room was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and it is a great location (close to the subway, 30 Rock, Time Square). If you're looking for a nice, simple hotel which is clean and comfortable, this is the place.

We had a very convenient and relaxed stay in this hotel. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the receptionist and explained to us the neighborhood of our hotel, he also handed a paper which we can locate the places that would be necessary in our NYC escapade. Restaurants, grocery stores, timings and nearby subways were also written which are very helpful to us. Carvi is a small modern hotel that is clean and quite. It is very accessible and has a warm and helpful staff. They do have medical kit which helped me to put band aid in my sored feet. For us, best hotel in NYC.

Amazing hotel! Our room was very clean and cozy, and the staff was outstanding as well. My favorite part of the Carvi hotel was their little rooftop patio. Such a great place to relax with a glass of wine, while having a nice view of the city. I would definitely recommend staying there!

Nice. Great price. The room was small but it didn't feel small because of good design. Clean, crisp in room and in common spaces. Stored my bag before checkin day one and after checkout on last day. Very good service.

Small hotel in Midtown. The ideal for business stays is very close to the Metro.

This hotel was GREAT value for the money. Yes, the room was small, but that is common in NYC. The room, however, was tastefully decorated, with comfortable bed, reading light, mini-bar/fridge, safe, desk, TV… everything you'd expect in a nice hotel was there. The location is quiet: not in the middle of restaurants and bars or tourist attractions, but this being NYC, you do not need to go far for any of those. It is easy to get to by E subway train from Penn Station or JFK. The service was friendly if not the most efficient. Per advice from other reviewers, I did request a room with a window and got one. The "view" was of an inner courtyard. The place may get a bit claustrophobic if you are there more than a day or two, but if you are looking for a clean and comfortable place in a quiet neighborhood but still convenient, this would be a very good choice, at unbeatable value.

Great location and really friendly staff. Beds were beautifully made too! Roof garden is pretty cool, even in February! Would definitely recommend and will certainly visit again.

Only thing that let it down, was the fact the cleaners had claimed we had taken drinks from the fridge, when we had actually picked them up in Times Square (which we had to pay for on the tab : ()

Staff at Carvi went out of their way to ensure our stay was pleasurable and memorable. The waiting staff and porters were fantastic, I cannot fault them.

Right Hotel and in Manhattan

Only has one drawback, and that is that they have rooms without windows. Care at the time of check-in and ask.

Good location, close to Lexington Av/53St Metro. Ideal for visiting the North Midtown — Upper West Side. The litter is comfortable. The spacious room has a minibar, a brewing cup with soluble coffee bags, a radioreveil mp3, a TV, a small office allowing the reloading of devices via USB. The soundproofing is correct (I stayed on the 6th floor). The bathroom is correct (shower + WC) and has a hairdryer. The water distributed to the faucet is hot but the water distributed to the shower is lukewarm (the "faucet" shower is made up of a kind of "key long" quarter turn to turn to the stop to have warm water and a small "key" that regulates the pressure). Free Wi-Fi is available. The hotel has a lift. The staff are welcoming and sympathetic.

Clean but not very spacious garden room. Few cracks and signs of wear mainly in the bathroom. Great location and very friendly stuff!

Our room was tiny but I think that's just the way things are in NYC. Saw my first rat walking in which didn't leave me with a warm fuzzy. The tiny fridge was full of things for purchase so we couldn't put anything of our own in there, the can of coke was $3 so my son was constantly upset with us saying no. Also there was no microwave. However the parking was very easy, convenient and cheaper than other places in the area. There are quite a few restaurants and the huge cathedral was In reasonable walking distance. In addition the hotel was willing to hold on to our stuff after we checked out until we were ready to get our car that evening.

Somewhat expensive for what it offers. The hotel is pretty well located but they don't have any breakfast and the rooms are very small. The bed was decently comfy but other than that nothing stands out. Staff were nice and helpful. We got this through an agency so can't complain that much. But if you have the chance (and budget), go for a different one like Edison or Sheraton.

First off, I only spent 10 hours in my room. I got there early to drop off my bags and the gentlemen there was very courteous. He also provided a printout of nearby food establishments. Unfortunately, early check in was not available so I didn't actually check in until later that night. Beds were comfortable and seemed clean enough. We had an early morning and checked out early, but the hotel again held our bags for us. The room was small, especially the bathroom and shower, compared to other hotels that I've experienced but I expected as such for a room in NYC. Though I must add that the water pressure was excellent. There were only a few outlets so if you have four people in a room with two double beds, there wont be enough outlets to charge the electronics. Also, my view was the back of another building. Overall, our experiences with Carvi were quick and without issues.

The location is very ideal for those who are here to sightsee. You're a 15 minute walk from some sites such as Times Square or Top of the Rock. The room is adequate size, clean, and quite. The staff is very nice and helpful. Lots of food choices around the area.

The service was great, the staff are so friendly and when you check in they give you a list of any and everything that you might need in the general area. From food, the banks and even the post office. Definitely would book here again.

Nice hotel, clean and stylish!

It is conveniently located in midtown between Lexington and 3rd. I stayed in an executive queen room with a view out over 55th street. There isn't any in-house room service, restaurant, or bar. My room didn't have a closet but did have a full length ironing board. This is a good place to stay if your agenda for your visit to NY is filled with around the town activities. This isn't a lounge in your room all day long type of hotel. The front desk staff as well as house keeping staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and there are plenty of food stores close by that are open late. There is also a Duane Reade/pharmacy close by if you need any additional essentials as if you get them through the hotel you will be charged. Also I recommend getting snacks from near by stores and stay away from overpriced mini bar.

Great location, friendly staff, small rooms, but very clean. We were 5 days in New York and were very satisfied with the hotel. At the check-in you will receive a list of restaurants in the area. Almost all have tried and loved.

This hotel was a very solid choice. A pleasant experience. The room and hotel generally was clean. The staff was nice, helpful to a first-time visitor. I had a room facing the street on the second floor. It could have been one of the noisiest rooms in the building. It was not noisy. The street noise was pretty minimal. The shower was small in my single room. I could barely turn around in it and I don't take up much space. It wasn't a problem since I didn't come here to take a luxurious shower. Curiosity: my thermostat was in celsius.

Tiny hotel in very good location (55 with Lexington). Helpful and friendly staff who speaks in Spanish. Room clean and well-stocked (including Ironing Board and base for iPhone). Bathroom spotless. Free Wi-Fi in room 24 h. Not have room but opposite (restaurant Midtown) you make discount if going from your part. Very good stay and fond memories. I highly recommend it.

Great place to stay in NY! Staying 1 or more nights in NY? This hotel is a perfect choice to stay, great location and good prices, small and cozy with excellent services. The Good — Excellent location with a lot of services not far from there. — Excellent attention at the reception desk — Cozy — Great bed and pillows — Not that many rooms — Wi-Fi included — It has an awesome terrace The Bad — Lot of noise from the building in front — Dark rooms — No breakfast included TIPS: * Ask for Greg, the GM, excellent person. * Enjoy the terrace on 7th floor, amazing with a good wine. * From the moment you book ask for the 7th floor. * Rent a bike at the corner, great option to enjoy and move in NY.

Got the last room thus on first floor behind desk but very clean and quiet. I found staff very nice. Second stay and will be back.

Incredibly well priced for the area. Cool, modern boutique hotel. I had a great experience staying here. Very well priced for New York. Nice ambiance and furniture. Warm, friendly staff, great vibe. Beautiful rooms. Quiet and peaceful. Location, location, location. You can't beat the proximity to Times Square, the centre of the world (without being in it which isn't fun). Also for a traveller it is very convenient to be in this location as you have access to key subway lines at the nearby station.

Friendly staff. Room small, but functional and clean. Free, super fast Wi-Fi. Roof terrace is quite handy, you should bring themselves but the drink to the end of the day itself.

I travel to NY often on business and need to stay near the art hub. Carvi is fairly new I believe; although the rooms are somewhat small, they're very nice and clean; the staff is personable. This hotel is perfect for those who come to see the city starting from a great spot with fair pricing, not those seeking a place to hang or linger all day.

What else is there to say? It's PJ Clarkes! :-) But I expected a ltile more from the service! : (.

During my hundreds of visits to NYC over the past 10 years, I finally found a Homey Hotel near the best of everything NYC has to offer. I hope that this Gem stay a secrect so that I never have a problem getting a room here.
