What a WONDERFUL Place to Stay! I cannot say enough about the Staff! Everyone was so helpful and their attention to customer service is impeccable! This Hotel is very modern very clean and the accommodations are very comfortable! The roof top view from the 17th floor is breathtaking! Thank you Hotel 57 for making our first stay in NYC not only GREAT but Memorable!

Like it very much, Front desk had great recommendations on restaurants and bars locally we went to them they were fabulous, room is nice and very updated, right in the heart of Manhattan.

Amazing location! Great service. I received complimentary welcome drinks and recommend their guest lounge as a pit stop before or after your day/night out. They had a full bar, local craft beers, and a selection of wine, plus snacks. The details of the lobby decor are unique and artsy. Very boutique feel! My room was comfortable and made good use of the space. I had a view of the Empire State Building! (Or is it the Chrysler? ) The bath was well appointed with Aveda toiletries. I will return!

Excellent Service and fantastic people at reception counter. Diana sttended to us and she was super helpful. This place is value for money from location point of view although the rooms are small. Our stay was very nice and hence recommend this to others.

It was a very nice place to stay! Very gracious staff, clean place that was very modern. It was close to the 59th metro stop so it was convenient to get a lot of places. It was reasonably priced for the location as well. It worked perfect for our weekends stay in New York.

Giving a 3 because of check in issues. 3pm is check in time, but platinum guests have until 5 pm to check out so our room was not available until much later than guaranteed check in time. My issue is that Marriott should tell you in advance that you may not be able to check in. This property only has 2 of the type room I reserved so if the previous guests are platinum members odds are you cant check in on time. Katherine, who helped us at the front desk went above and beyond to try and make up for the fact that our room wasn’t ready. She is a great asset to Marriott and we so appreciated her kindness.

Loved my room (1011 with corner view) the room was clean and the service was great. Thank you Jose for helping me with my bags and providing a great service! You can find a good pizza place (my pie) right next to the hotel.

Stayed for a girl's weekend for my good friend's birthday. Serena, Daniel, Danny, Serge, Francis, Elizabeth, and Jay were very hospitable to us and treated us like 5 star guests. All were very professional and went out of their way to make our stay at the hotel and in the city a great experience. Rooms were clean, beds comfy, good water temp and pressure in the shower, and had all amenities we needed for the weekend. I would definitely stay again.

Had a tremendous time. Staff was courteous and helpful. Room was beautiful and a great size to dollar ratio, especially in midtown. Access to the subway was perfect. Pizza and bagels within a few blocks any direction. Walked to and from Times Square day and night. Can't recommend this place enough!

Very clean, comfortable beds we enjoyed our stay. I just wish they offered a least a mini fridge or complimentary breakfast for the price we paid. There was plenty of room for a mini fridge too.

It's in a wonderful location, ten minute walk to Central Park and less than five minutes to the train. The bathroom is clean and big and the bed is comfortable. My room had a view of the Chrysler Building.

Great location! They were able to accommodate my need for early check-in so I could make a meeting in FiDi by 3. Room (15th floor) was clean and comfortable with a great view of the Chrysler Building. Didn't know that the gym and restaurant were being renovated until arriving, but they gave us access to a local gym and vouchers for breakfast at a nearby cafe.

Absolutely fabulous stay. Great location. Easy to walk to central park or pretty much anywhere you want to go. Easy access of. The subway. Plenty to eat and drink in walking distance. Clean rooms, great Wi-Fi. And wonderful views from the windows. Will stay there again.

Nice place, good location. Not very large rooms but we had good view. I loved the service. All attentive, helpful and willing.

Staff are helpful. The hotel is also undergoing a rennovation and hence should be better in future. Currently no restuarant or bar. Fire side lounge closed at weekends. Rooms are adequate/basic. Lack style. Bathroom a bit better. Given the price it currently does not offer good value for money. Suggest checking status of upgrades before booking.

Marriott PP and Shareholder. This stay has to be in my top three worst hotel stays. Three different rooms in three days (due to room size, housekeeping leaving a previous guest's sock on the floor, the air conditioner malfunction, the heater was 'repaired' with a cardboard box and towels), an arcing electrical outlet and a water leak in the bathroom). Fortunately, I received a random survey from Marriott. I received an email from the Director of Front Office with the same canned apologies as shown in the other reviews. His email asks for me to contact him via phone to discuss. I have left two voicemails and one email. No response in the week since his email. This speaks volumes as to the level of customer service and value they place on guests. Hopefully Marriott will end their association soon.

Stayed here 4 nights with the family. Rooms are recently updated. Front staff was friendly. But c’mon, a full service hotel that tells its guest they don’t have coffee on the weekend? Concierge bar had bags of chips & water. Attendant wouldn’t let me have a club soda. Said he had to save for mixed drinks. Saw a reviewer say there was a jazz band in the lobby at night. Not so. Nothing but bare minimums here. Won’t be back.

Amazing service. Great rooms. I had a good view of the Chrysler Building! Cant wait for them to be serving food again. One big down side was the lack of warm water both days. Very rough.

An item went missing in my room — and nobody seemed to care, the rooms are completely run down, staff is disengaged, construction throughout the night — DON‘T BOOK THIS HOTEL.

Nice place with friendly staff. Only problem was in the morning housekeeping was VERY loud. You can hear people walking by and talking even in low voices but these ladies were yelling to each other and banging their carts around. I was hoping to get to sleep in but they were out there for over an hour. I feel like they should be more courteous and professional knowing that the walls are thin.

I’ve left 3 messages with 2 different people over 3 days to have an incorrect water bottle charge added after I checked out with no updated folio sent removed from my Amex card with no response at all. This is delaying my company paying for the room. Very unhappy with their customer service. I have had consistently positive experiences with other hotels in the Marriott brand.

I stayed overnight as a guest. Service was good. Hotel seems to be in an older building, but it didn't impact the rooms (which were appropriately tiny being in NYC). The Renaissance look and feel is embedded well. I enjoyed it and would stay again.

Really loved this hotel. It was very comfortable and loved the design of the room. Having the closet to put my suitcase in was very nice as there isn't an excess of floor space. I also loved the bathroom! The tub was so nice, after being up for 36 hours I was exhausted and every muscle ached. I stopped at LUSH, down the street bought a glorious bath bomb and soaked in the tub before crashing on the plush bed. Felt completely rejuvenated in the morning. I recommend both the hotel and the LUSH bath bomb.

Great location and beautiful design. However, rooms are tiny and the hotel does not have a (currently operating) restaurant so you need to go out for breakfast and other meals. It does have what seems to be a VIP lounge with coffee, cookies, fruit etc but it's not clear how it works. I am a rewards program member and did not have acess to it. Anyway, it's a good value.

Yes. The better it is easy. The situation is good, there, nothing to complain about. From the hotel you will walk to central Park, Time Square and the Rockefeller Center.
But the room is small, access to the lobby not very simple. And then no breakfast possible. No kind of restoration.

We enjoy this Hotel so much that we have stayed there the past 4 years in a row. Purnell is the "Doorman" is the kindest, most helpful man that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting at a hotel. The staff is very receptive and they are always looking to help. Hotel 57 is always looking to improve. Currently they are renovating their new restaurant, coming soon! Can't wait to see it next December!

Great location. Very friendly staff. Service is great. A bit pricey but what isn't in NYC. Only issue is they are doing renovations so no bar or restaurant. But there are great food and drink options within a block of hotel.

An adorable Manhattan hotel. The rooms are spotless. It's a small quiet place to lay your head when you're in the city. And the bar selection is great as well. And the staff is incredibly fast and attentive.

The staff was so helpful and friendly! The room was a little small, but it was a pretty good size considering it was New York City. It was very clean and very well lit and decorated though, I liked that a lot. I wish it had a full-length mirror on one of the doors or something, that would've been convenient. Anyway, the staff were the stars of the stay, they were the happiest and most helpful and encouraging people I encountered while staying in NYC.

This is our second stay at Renaissance NY 57. It is nice to see the same friendly faces of the wonderful staff members. The 'Mayor' of 57 will take excellent care of you and your belongings as you arrive and depart. Rooms are clean and comfortable. And you'll wish your shower at home was as good as these are… Restaurants in the immediate area have so far been excellent as well. Palace restaurant two doors west is perfect for breakfast or lunch.

UPDATE — there isn't one because the insurance company won't give but half the value! Being robbed by them a 2nd time! The hotel was great but someone with a key card came into my room while we were site seeing and stole my wedding ring. I would NEVER stay here especially since security had a nonchalant attitude about it. Its really too bad because the front desk staff was so nice. The fact that I am 100% sure it was taken from this hotel it put a stain on the whole NYC trip. Save yourself — lock up your valuables if you stay here but you do so at your own risk!

Perfect location. In the middle of the city. Was there for a meeting So besides a quick internal with the bar staff I could not have an in depth experience. It seems ok though.

Experience at the Renaissance has been great. The only things that are worth noting is that their roof balcony and their restaurant in house are both under construction. Would love to come back when these amenities are open again!

Rooftop bar is shut! August 2017, so if like us was one of your reasons for choosing… Reasonable location a few blocks from 2 subways. Room was slightly larger than the average NYC room and clean. Hotel is currently undergoing a refurbishment by the looks of it, corridor and overall is quite dated. Would stop here in the future but would look around first. They did have HBO which was a plus!

Clean room, but a little dated. Great location, close several subway stations. Perfect for a few days in New York. Undergoing some renovation at the moment so restaurant and roof terrace are closed/inaccessible, but the work doesn't disturb your stay in any other way.

The hotel was OK but if you have a problem (medical emergency) and you have to book one more night, do not rely on the staff or the manager to be empathetic or compassionate because they will charge you the most expensive price (more than 2 times the price of S nights paid in advance) because you do not have the choice to stay to sleep. Also, on the way home from the hospital, the hotel room had not even been cleaned. Very disappointed with the reaction of a hotel saying "sophisticated"!

Place very well placed to visit, damage to the restaurant in renovation. Correct room but little storage for a family.

Perfect hotel for getting around the eastside of Manhattan. The staff are all super friendly and helpful. Especially Pernell. He loves his job and you can tell from the big welcoming smile he gives you down to how he remembers your name and why you're in town. The rooms are well designed with super comfy beds and big showers. The towels are big and soft. The hotel is relatively quiet considering how you're right in the middle of everything. We stayed in room 1505. It's awesome. This is now our hotel of choice when we visit Manhattan.

Great hotel. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Friendly staff and extremely helpful. Pernell brought all our luggage up and made sure we had a refrigerator brought up to our room within 5 mins. We stayed for 3 nights and every time we walked through the front doors we were greeted with a smiling face, no matter what time of day. Our room was nice, comfortable beds, huge bath towels and enough for 4 of us. House keeping did a great job and even placed my daughters teddy bear on her pillow for her each day. Location is great. Close to Central Park and Time Square. We did not use the hotel parking as that's an extra $55/day. Wifi is also not included in your stay and is $16/day if you choose to connect.

Amazing hotel and staff! The room was beautiful the view was amazing. The staff was friendly and helped us navigate the city which divas to take where, best places to eat. Could not have asked for more.

Second time I have stayed here. It's a cool little hotel. Rooms are nice and comfortable. No complaints.

Renaissance New York Hotel 57 has very nice accommodations and the staff was wonderful. Very easy access to the city and near major shopping. Will stay again.

Was fortunate enough to stay here a few weeks ago. My husband had to have surgery in at a hospital on the Upper East Side. Living on Long Island I did not want to have to commute back and forth to city to keep an eye on and spend time with him. Both William and Diana at the front desk were Friendly, Professional accommodating during a somewhat stressful time. The room was lovely and the beds were so comfortable! Also any of the staff we met were also friendly and made our stay even nicer. Thank you to the entire staff at Hotel 57!

Nice hotel, super expensive bar though. The breakfast wasn't worth it either. Rooms are fine though. The staff was helpful as well.

Good value hotel considering the location in NYC. Not right next to any subway lines but a short walk to many of them. Entrance can be hard to find though especially when construction is going on in the area.

Not great. The waiter only asked us one time if we need anything. Thought that was odd. Considering we we're a large group.

Met co-workers who were staying here for drinks. Public areas look nice, good choice if you have business in East Midtown. Bar was pretty standard for a midtown hotel. Nothing special, but solid drinks and service.

Great location for shopping. The staff is friendly and helpful. Had out of town visitors and they loved it. I'll be sending more visitors this hotel as a recommendation in the future.

Top notch service and perfect location at a reasonable price make this a great place to stay when visiting. The rooms are often a bit oddly shaped, but that can add to the charm.

Excellent east mid-town location, eager-to-please service, and comfortable beds. Room design, however, was awkward and dated, with no space between desk and bed when desk chair was left in place, and there was no in-room fridge present in the built-in spot where it was indicted.

The room was great. Modern bathroom and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast in the restaurant wasn't open when it was supposed to be, but the manager had us order room service which was delicious. Staff was friendly. I will be coming back.

A friend and I stayed here for a weekend and had a wonderful experience. It was my 1st trip to NYC. The staff were accommodating and even let us keep our luggage there after checking out while we roamed the city. The room was small, which I've heard is typical in Manhattan. It was VERY clean. I highly recommend it.

My family and I were looking forward to staying at the Renaissance. First day, they didn't even make our beds or refresh our linens! The next day there was only one working elevator. On the night before we checked out, I discovered the guy at the front desk charged me the amount of my entire stay even though my stay was completely paid for through Hotwire! The lady who was working when I discovered the issue couldn't even offer a valued reason why this occurred. She told me a…t least four different things and then said she would have a manager handle it first thing in the morning. When I got downstairs in the morning, he didn't even know about it! While this location is convenient, I don't think staying here is worth the headache. The rooftop terrace that is advertised on the site didn't even have chairs on it during our stay! I tried to explain the issues to Marriott and I'm not even sure they did anything about it. I would expect more from Marriott.

It's a good place to stay in New York City it's not that expensive people are friendly and helpful.

Very small rooms.

I had the displeasure of staying at the Renaissance 57 in NY. Stayed 5 nights in December 2013. The location is fantastic and the price is reasonable when compared to other hotels in NY, but the quality of the service and the room is worthy of a fifth category of hotel. — AC in the room was so noisy that wake us up every 20 minutes. We spoke to the hotel staff they sent a technician there but to no avail and the staff showed not to care much about the problem. Neither said absolutely nothing to us if we had solved the problem and even having claimed more than once no action was taken. ^ if you want I have recorded and can send to noise place on the ipod and they see how the experience to wake up every 20 minutes — started out mud of shower. Yes, that's right. And we called the front desk asking management to rise. No one has ascended. We called again a little nervous about the situation (we have movie and photo too) and they sent the manager Cleanliness who invented a story that the city was in trouble. And then wonder : Renaissance and just did not tell any guest? We arrived in Brazil and spoke to Monica, who introduced himself as the director of the hotel and said he would solve our problem. Offered some ridiculous things to make and do not accept. They said they would see what would qe. I did write to the Clever because they wanted the company in which we booked to return the money. Shameful attitude of a network of luxury hotels considered. AND SHE GONE!

I was so disappointed. The one thing I will say is that the room itself (bedding, bathroom, floor, etc) was very clean. However, the elevator set up is inconvenient, the rooms are small, you have to pay $16.95/day for Wi-Fi access, there is no coffee provided (or coffee makers, either), the shower had no hot water the first day, the shower head blasts right at your face and is not adjustable (I'm 5'5" and actually fell out of the tub trying to avoid the blasting water), you cannot adjust the bedside clock yourself — an "engineer" has to come and do it for you! (the time on our clock was off by 50 minutes). But the worst part by far was the stinking, moldy, mildewy air conditioner. I am seeing my doctor a. S. A. P because I have not been well since my stay, coughing, headache, chills. There are better places to stay for the $$.

This "4-star" hotel building offers 2-star hotel settings, 3-star hotel beddings in "bird nest" size rooms. No match to the Renaissance brand room. For the money we paid, I should have gone to a Holiday Inn Express and got the biggest suite. Stay away from this hotel. All those people left 5-star reviews were paid by the owner of this hotel.
