The hotel is close to the times square and subway lines connect you to just about everything. The rooms are very small (less than 10 square meters) and one room has two double beds, so they can sleep up to 4 which makes the room infinitely small.
They don't have breakfast. They have a very small coffee room (but only a table and a bar), albeit with good coffee.
It is a cheap hotel with excellent location and a good shower. The staff is very friendly. So if you go two people, for a few days and only pretend to use the hotel to sleep is a great option.

Good value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They have helped us and given us a very cordial treatment.

Wasn't bad for the price. 2 huge dumpsters in front of the hotel right now, my safe didn't work. But 10 mins walk to times square etc. Room clean and staff friendly.

The Hudson River Hotel is tucked away on 36th street. The lobby is ok. They serve coffee in the morning, but it is not a place that serves breakfast. I haven't stayed in New York before, so I'm not familiar with other hotels, but the rooms are pretty small. There isn't much room to put your bags without feeling a bit cramped. However, the location is great for the price you're paying and is just a 15 minutes walk from Times Square.

Nothing special, ok location, good size rooms, nice bed. Totally forgettable but for NYC I feel it's nice. Not bad or great just ok, but that's fine!

Near Jarvitz centre, about 10min walk. Room was clean, toiletries are sometimes not refilled. Free coffee in the morning. Aged looking, bed was spoilt but lucky was by self and slept on other bed. Clean and passable.

Great location, close to penn station, not too much road noise, and the staff was extremely sweet/helpful to us.

Apart from the receptionist Vladimir who speaks Spanish and is very attentive and friendly, everything else is regular. The hotel has a comfortable bed but nothing of the ortho world. The truth for the price it has is very expensive. In my concept is not comfortable, the elevator is very scary when it goes up, the entrance of the hotel gives bad image, in any case we slept 5 nights and everything was normal, since we passed the outside all day. After I got another hotel with much more services and more well located and ample reception restaurants and all modern and good attention perhaps much cheaper. I recommend to travelers not to pay the entire stay in one hotel, because in new York you can get more calm. This was April 11th, 2018.

Probably a typical NYC hotel The staff has always been nice. We've stayed there several times since it's very close to the Javits Center. The rooms are dated but clean. Don't expect a big room. They're pretty tiny. We just need a place to snooze, so for us it works great. No issues with reserving through a discount app. Parking nearby is expensive, but it's NYC. They have a small breakfast nook, but we've never taken advantage of it. No complaints, overall a decent place and convenient.

I stayed here for 4 nights in February and it was everything I needed in a hotel. Room was clean and the location was great for midtown, about a 15 minute walk to the nearest subway. Can't see how people can complain for the price in the city.

The hotel is fine for the comfortable price, what I did not like was the area, I was alone and was afraid to arrive at night, outside there were homeless people.

Very good hotel, delighted with the reception: Very friendly staff, clean room and cleaned every day, ideal location (10min walk to Times Square and less than 5 min from the Metro). Do not hesitate.

After we reserved a room in this hotel, I was having second thoughts but my thoughts vanished after we entered the hotel. It was very cozy and our room was clean and nice. Location is pretty good too and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. I would recommend this hotel to people who don’t care too much about 5 star amenities.

I went to NYC to attend a Javits show (in 2013) and stayed at the Quality Inn and was glad I did. Lisa and Omar at the front desk were great and the housekeeping staff were all very friendly and professional and do a great job. Our room was clean and the beds were very comfortable and I slept like a baby. I skipped breakfast each day but I did help myself to coffee downstairs in the mornings and it was good. I had no issues or concerns whatsoever with my 4-day stay and appreciated all that the staff did for us. They are the ones that prompted me to sit down and write this review because good service is sometimes hard to come by but not at this hotel. I do wish there were more outlets in the room but that wasn't a problem. I'd stay at this hotel again for sure. It was within walking distance to restaurants and Times Square. Great job and many thanks to the excellent staff of this hotel. Keep up the good work!

Service was nice, everything was clean and tidy. The elevator was very slow.

Like earlier reviews stated there are 0 amenity s. God forbid you ask for an extra pillow from the British (night manager? ). All else's fails walk in the room with the extra pillows bc I think they leave it unlocked too. Your bags will be stored in an unsecure location. The vending machines won't work. They give you coffee for 4 and sugar and cream for 1. On the other hand the room was clean and cleaned everyday. The lady at the reception desk was very nice and very helpful. The location was close to the Convention Center which was great. There was food close by everywhere.

Room very Small for 3 people and lacking ventilation. 3 people sleeping, having shower and so, for 4 nights, the room got very smelly.

Towels had spots on them. The room was very small for the price. No lounge area, when you walk it had a smell and boxes was stores at the entrance.

The place is very nice, the rooms are a bit tight but clean, the service is excellent.

This was the most BASIC of hotels with a snooty attitude and came with ZERO AMENITIES. It was over priced for what it was and didn’t have anything on their website about “no guests of the hotel guests allowed in the hotel”. It had the feel of a 1960’s hostel but I think it is a bit worse. I recommend if you need a place to stay, DO NOT STAY HERE. Find a park bench or even the bus terminal. You would have vending machines that actually work near or in those locations.

Love the hotel short walk to time Square, rooms quite and clean staff amazing, thanks to Adam he helped me out a lot. Only complaint the sign for the hotel was so small it was hard to find the hotel, but other than that I enjoyed my stay.

Had a reservation for a king size room. Upon arriving, we were told at the desk that the hotel was overbooked and they couldn't accomodate my fiance and I. The front desk told us they have rooms in a building across the street so we went over there. We were given a room with a single twin sized bed. We called front desk and they moved us to a king size room as we originally reserved. Very small, not really kept up well. Did the job of being a room to sleep in, but will not be staying here again.

Poor customer service. The manager was never available. Free Wi-Fi is not available as advertised. Please be aware of this when booking.

Congrats to my beautiful cousin and her boo! After spending so many years together, they have finally come to tie the knot in this pretty little hotel on the corner. Doesn't hurt that she works here as well. Beautiful, private conference room turned into a wedding hall and private reception located on the 2nd floor with a full bar on hand. A beautiful place, neatly done, beautifully lit with candles and with family and friends to share this moment.

This hotel is very well because the staff is friendly, the breakfast is very good and plentiful. The rooms are a bit small but comfortable.

It's definitely "no frills", but the staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean. Convenient location at a decent price. Would stay here again.

It's not a 5 stars hotel, but I will give them 5 stars, friendly and helpful hotel workers, the room and bathroom are clean the price is reasonable (cheap), the hotel is close to everything, I mean literally walking distance, and another advantage parking yep parking 25$ a day for small car, 35$ for a SUV hard to beat in new York, we did enjoy our stay there thank you.

Excellent location and economical. 5 minutes to Jacob Javits convention center. Aged property but excellent, helpful staff. 4 rooms per floor. 14 usable floors. One elevator only. Usable stairs. Good breakfast but all continental if you are vegetarian. Meat, eggs looked strange to me. Recommended.
