The rooms are super dirty, the carpets are not changed since the last century, the old furniture but in general smells bad and is of sorrow. They had to cambairme room because the sheets were all stained. The tub got stuck every time you showered. The train passes to the side and you hear too much. The good thing: the beds are not uncomfortable and the rooms are spacious, but I would not go back or recommend it ever. The staff is friendly.

Not as charming as I wanted it to be. Menu options are expensive. Who puts a $14 minimum? No major crowd when I went, but was still told to order all at once, if not the chef will yell at the waiter apparently. Was rushed to order food. Lighting not so great. Cozy size place, food was good, but would suggest to order to-go.

The first word that arose at the entrance to the room, "miserable". Dilapidated, dark… Although the bathroom was better than one could expect. Breakfast, which was included in the price of the room, did not differ in richness or variety and noticeably skudnel after the weekend, when the klllichestvo of the guests was declining. But the man gets used to everything, and after Raru days managed to see the positive aspects of the hotel, namely quite convenient location in relative proximity to two metro stations and undeniably the budget price.

Clean and pleasant hotel just round the corner from Times Square so that can't be bad. Facilities include Wi-Fi and Air Conditioning in the room which was a god send as it was 34 degrees Celsius outside. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. Croissants, coffee, tea, orange juice, sausage patties and scrambled eggs. Toast, jam etc. Can't be faulted. Will be staying again when visit next time.

Update: After 19 calls and 9 messages over the course of a week we were able to get the one night compensation that they offered. If you like terrible service, used condoms on your floor, filthy hotel rooms and being told lies by the staff and manager then this is the hotel for you! Our reservation was made 364 days prior to our arrival and I called earlier in the week to verify the reservation, yet upon arrival we were told that they couldn't give us the room we reserved. The reservation for one double room was split into two rooms, which sounds good at first, but the rooms were tiny (practically closets) right against the elevators (which were loud) and they were on different floors. After getting our room keys we went up the elevator. When exiting the elevator there was a very strong smell of marijuana smoke filling the hallway. Once inside the room we were surprised to see stains all through the carpet, paint splattered on everything, and a terrible paint job on the wall. We put down our luggage and then noticed that the curtains were stained and broken, the lamp shades were cracked and stained, the coffee tray had dirt caked in the corners, dust and dirt was in every crevice to be found and the carpet was disgusting. After a nasty poke in the leg, we lifted the mattress and noticed that the bed frames were large, rough cut sheets of plywood. While taking a photo of the bed frames we found a dirty used condom right under the edge of the bed.

Quality/price unbeatable for a city like NY. Within how expensive it is to stay in NY we have found this option quite economical. The hotel is old (that is undeniable), but not lacking in services. Has breakfast included (rare thing in NY hotels too), has free Wi-Fi, has computer with printer available and a long etc… It is in a very good area to be able to get to any walking point. Recommended 100%, repeat insurance.

I'm going to tell my experience through all that and read around here, we started by reception, with us all have been very friendly highlighting a young Blondie girl who is Porto exceptional with us, breakfast is always the same but there is breakfast, the room that touched us was not very big compared to others we could see, but the bed was big and very comfortable and the bathroom was pretty good, just arrived we saw that the water was stuck and we were fixed at the time, the big TV but only in English and almost without channels, but as new York only goes to the hotel to sleep is appreciated the comfort of the bed, cleanliness… is the basic of a hotel and so under both the stars, stretch the sheets and little more, TV, coffee maker, bed, etc. It's got powder that looks white, years ago that did not clean it, not a day passed the vacuum cleaner, did not clean the desk, the area, passes the train to the side and about 7 and you have alarm clock, I asked for the stop because I had read and I got the 8, and it doesn't matter 1 that 11, the mechanic workshop is 24 hours but we have never heard it at night, the street of before there are homeless people sleeping at night, the Times that we have passed we have said absolutely nothing, and the days that we did not want to pass we passed by the street Parallel and solved, this was our experience

The room was booked as a double queen. Get there, was given 2 twin beds. Hotel had garbage in front orbit and scaffolding in front. Breakfast area wasn't big enough. Couldn't get breakfast either day of our stay. No place to hang clothes. Shower curtain was too short for shower so used all towels trying to keep the floor dry because floor was told. Didn't want to slip and fall. No conditioner only crappy shampoo. No ice bucket, was told we could have a bag if we wanted to put ice in. Light for the bathroom also put a light on in the room, so of someone had to use the rr in the middle of the night, we got woken up. All around negative experience. Won't be staying there again.

You get what you pay for. The deals on this hotel are very good online. But the rooms are dirty. Dirty carpet which looked like was not vacuumed for months. Literally hair of past occupants were stuck to the pillow and towels. If you just want a place to crash for a few hrs after partying then take up this place otherwise please spend some more and head some where else. They do have complimentary breakfast but it's good only to grab some toast and coffee. They had very Greasy sausages and stinky scrambled eggs.

No!
The rooms are small, the carpet is dirty, the bathroom is very small and there is no pressure for the shower especially for the shampoo, the breakfast is not good and the portions ridiculous.
Very noisy because of the repair shop of all NYC taxis which works 24/7: thanks to the mechanics who play the pneumatic pistol all night!
And to add to the incessant noises there are the trains of the AMTRACK which put horns at each passage under the tunnel!
I highly recommend this hotel!

Very disappointed. We expected a mediocre hotel, but they just don't seem to care about you. We reported that our TV did not work to the front desk on Sunday morning and it is now Tuesday night and still no working TV and no room to move into. Beware! There is a 24 hour car repair shop directly across the street and the train runs right beside the hotel. If you get a room on the street side be forewarned that New Yorkers love to honk their horns so don't expect a good night sleep.

A little outdated… The age of this place is starting to show and could come across as "unclean" to guests. There was some minor staining on the white towels, discoloration of tubs/sinks/carpets. But upon inspecting, it was clear that it wasn't all cleanliness issues, just old and needing uplift. Room size of the queen was prefect for just myself, but might be considered cozy for two guests sharing the space. Front desk staff were thorough and friendly, so A+ for them. They offered to let me check in an hour early for a $50 fee. This is a pet peeve of mine that I won't go into here, but it's an option for those interested. As of my stay (May 2017) there was work being done to the face of the building, but this didn't affect my stay inside. Some road noise from my second floor room that didn't bother me sleeping, but might bother some,. Being second floor in New York, it wasn't beyond my expectations in that respect.

Location and Staff at the hotel is wonderful, helpful and courteous! I have stayed here for two years in a row exhibiting at Javits and during my entire stay each year there was NO HOT water for showers. Tried night showers when everyone was out, tried early am showers and normal morning time showers they were tepid to cool in temp. If you can withstand cool showers and need to be close to the Javits this is the place, otherwise, try another hotel that hopefully has hot showers. My stay each year was for 5 nights and not having a Warm/Hot shower is not something I want to deal with. Staff is helpful, friendly and great to get to know… all the best!

I was very comfortable and pleased with my stay for the weekend of September 27th. The workers were very sweet and kind. Annie at the front desk was helpful and professional. The hotel is trying to upgrade and progress, which can be difficult for an old hotel in what was once a bad neighborhood. I did some historical research and was fascinated in the history of Hell's Kitchen, and found it interesting to be there. I attended a workshop at the Javitz. It was very easy to quickly walk over there. The center is beautiful and the waterfront is so nice. I also walked quite easily to Times Square. Also, it was easy to take a subway ride to Central Park! Obviously, if I was staying longer and was concerned about luxurious ammenities, I would have stayed somewhere that offered more. But you also pay much more for those things in NYC. My room was very clean. My bed was very comfortable, as it was a newer mattress with memory foam. They seem to be renovating, and actually, it looks like a good job. My bathroom was excellent! Clean and fresh. Everything worked efficiently. The breakfast was really good, and they kept it stocked freshly on an ongoing basis. Annie gave me help getting a shuttle to Newark airport at a very affordable rate. Honestly, I had a good stay and felt secure and happy for the weekend.

I was told on the phone we could store the bags in a locked room (normal for most hotels). When I checked in we were told we could not store the bags. In addition the lady at the desk could not advise us a place to take the luggage to store for the day. She was very rude and would not in the least take responsibility for the person's mistake from the phone conversation. FYI — if you for some reason decide to stay in this hotel which I strongly advise not doing, there is a storage facility on 36th between 9th and 10th Ave.
