Review of Econo Lodge Times Square 2*

Do not be fooled by the photos, they are fake and misleading. I was just denied a refund when I didn't even stay here. I felt so unsafe and grossed out I didn't even make it to my room. I am absolutely disgusted that they will not refund my money for service that I did not receive. I am fortunate that I live close to New York City, so when I came here for a Broadway show I had the option to go home. I feel incredibly sorry for anyone who is deceived by this hotel and who does not have any other option but to stay there. The elevator barely works and shook the whole way up to my room, there were signs posted in the elevator that said do not jump or it will get stuck and you are responsible for paying the maintenance men to come and get you out of it. There were also signs that said they turn the hot water off between 10:00 p. M. And 3:00 a. M. When I got to the fourth floor where my room was, the hallway was narrow and dark and the hallways branching off of it were filled with garbage. The carpet is peeling off of the floor and the paint is coming off of the walls, I felt so unsafe that I immediately turned around and took the stairs back down to the main floor and ask for a refund. Luckily the front desk was extremely kind and give me the information of who I should email for the refund. Today they finally responded to me (2 weeks later) and said my refund was denied. This is absolute fraud and I am disgusted by it. I have disputed this with my credit card company and will not hesitate to take any further action. I hope that this review saves at least one person from making a reservation here.
