Catering for wedding party was great! Not so much for restaurant and bar. Couldn’t get a drink at 8:45 on a Friday night! Morning breakfast atmosphere was very unfriendly…

Would not recommend dealing with this hotel. The room was accidentally booked without the wedding block discount being applied. Approximately 150$ more a night. When I called to fix the problem I was told by Jackie Harol that it’s a non refundable payment. I would lose all the money and the room if we canceled. She was snarky and irritated. I asked why she had such an attitude with me and that I felt the hotel businesses was about hospitality. She told me the hotel business is not about hospitality and she would not do anything to help me. I wanted to speak with her supervisor but she refused and stated she was the “top person” at this hotel. If she’s the top person I can only imagine what the people will be like when we stay there this week. Regardless if the rate could have been fixed or not this hotel has zero customer service skills. Would not stay here just on that alone.

I USED to love this Hotel. Not anymore. Service is not the same, restaurant now closed on weekends for breakfast, on a Saturday night it is supposed to close at 9pm, but they don't want to accept guests after 7:45pm… and today I returned to my room to find my beds were not made. Yesterday I arrived and there was 1 set of towels (I had called ahead and requested two), Still charging the same though!

Beautiful historic building that is modern in the rooms but the original woodwork and craftsmanship is magnificent!

Definitely coming back to visit. I live locally and loved exploring this gem. Rooms are Amazing, room service was amazing, bit pricey but worth it. I had booked a king deluxe on Priceline, with two beds. When I reached the hotel, was told to check into third floor, small room, with bed. I politely told them to upgrade me for little extra $$, they moved me to a deluxe on 11th floor for no extra charge (guess asking helps) never settle for less. Seems like the staff wanted to go above n beyond in helping and accommodating. However we were told to order room service when we asked to get a table at Wellington. Which was fine. I did have kids with me n Wellington seemed more dim lights, formal romantic setting bar /restaurant. Loved the room and beds. Highly recommend tops floors with city view windows. Returning soon.

Checked in at 8 pm. Exhausted. Turn on tv. Remote doesn’t work Call front desk 7 times from room. No answer Call main line from cell phone. No answer. Rang so much Verizon said my call couldn’t be completed Walk down to front desk. Tell them. I am told their phone does not work I ask for a vending machine for a Soda. Desk says they don’t have any. But what would I like. Just a soda Assuming a soda is complimentary for my trouble. Nope. 12 oz fountain soda. $3.50. Lifetime titanium member. Fix the phones.

Went hear on Valentines Day for a few drinks before dinner. What a great scene. They had an amazing female vocalist. Not sure if they have live music every Friday but if they do that’s a tough find in the Capital district. Looking forward to going back for dinner. I highly recommend for a romantic dinner and/or drink outing.

I went here for a late holiday party and now I want to get married here. While the decor and architecture were stunning, the staff is really what made the experience.

This hotel in albany is beautiful, its absolutely stunning. Its clean, staff is amazing and so nice and their rooms are spacious.

Great sheets and the open design of the suits is amazin. The glass panels in the shower and the multiple TV sets in the suite. The walking closet is huge!

Such a wonderful experience! The king room was huge with a very comfortable “living room” area and elegant lighting throughout. The shower was exquisite and very difficult to get out of because it is such a luxurious experience; a perfect combination of high pressure, high temperature, and elegant ambiance. Love having a fridge, The bar/restaurant Wellington’s was a wonderful place to meet up with old friends. All in all a stellar experience!

Renaissance Albany Hotel is located within walking distance to the downtown area. The hotel has a restaurant that serves pretty good food and drinks. They also have space on the second floor for parties or office events. Staff was friendly.

One of the most beautiful hotels I’ve been in. The old building is preserved but has uniquely modern decor. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the bar has great food. Overall a wonderful place.

Stay at this location on a monthly basis for work, the hotel is the best part of the trip. The staff are extremely helpful. Angel Navigator at the front desk always welcomes us with a smile. Not much of a vacation spot but if you need to visit Albany this is the place to stay.

Amazing food at the restaurant, top notch service, and the rooms were to die for. I was endlessly surprised by how much I liked this hotel. A worker there (Jason) should get a gold star for how accommodating he was to my friend and me. One of the better hotels I've been to by FAR.

Great hotel in a great location. It can be loud if you're in an adjoining room but the room we had was spacious and really nice. I definitely plan on coming back!

I had been to the historic hotel years ago, loved the architecture, and the uniqueness of the entire building. Upon returning some years later, I was glad to see st least sone of the characteristics of the former structure were kept. The number of stars is related to the SPA that was part of the hotel. It closed abruptly, without notice to the employees or the patrons who had scheduled appointments. It was in poor form and poor business practice.

Beautiful old hotel remodeled and turned into a modern Renaissanse Hotel. Steps away from lots of sites including the Capital and Governor's mansion, the hotel is in a great location and kept up well. Nice gym, lots of meeting space and very large cool guest rooms that are nicer than many bigger city Renaissance locations. The bar is very cool with local beers on tap and the restaurant was excellent with locallly grown food used. To top it off, the staff was great to deal with.

The hotel restaurant is a great place for brunch or dinner. The campfire mason jar dessert is a great experience as well, and very tasty. The salads are quite a bit smaller than I find satisfying, so if you're hungry you may want to opt for something else. Overall, a great menu, with local highlights.

Absolutely beautiful hotel! I will definitely stay again. One problem with my room (it was needed for a wedding party) so I was moved… and they compensated me by giving me 4 free breakfast vouchers. They do charge your card extra for "incidentals" which I wasn't expecting (an additional hundred dollars) but other than that the rooms were gorgeous! The bed was comfortable too! I also had a nice view out my window.

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff. Very upscale and elegant. The beds are comfortable and the decor is amazing. Only negative thing is that the bed sits in a box. You would think that the box would be padded. You hit you extremities on the box when trying to exit the bed and that thing hurts.

Room was comfortable and modern. I liked that the shades blocked out all sunlight unlike most hotels. Bathroom was nice. Room service is very hit or miss. First night it look them 2 hours to get me my order (I had to call three times). Breakfast was dropped off very promptly. The staff downstairs was also hit or miss. The first front desk person was a bit… short with me, and seemed annoyed that I was asking questions. The second day, everyone was very friendly and helpful.

We were received upon arrival by a less than friendly receptionist by the name of Consuela. This poor women seems to have lost all hope in life, that was clear to see from just a moments glance into her eyes. My family was stunned by the immediate arrogance and bluntness that was given off by this lady for no apparent reason. After our long drawn out ordeal with this sad sack lady refusing to allow us to check in, we were eventually given our room but by this point the trip was off on a bad note. I truly hope that Consuela will see better days because this poor person truly has no care for any other person other than herself. Unfortunately she ranked her way up to manager somehow so hopefully one of the high ups fires her and promotes the wonderful braided hair receptionist that we were later greeted by.

Beautiful old building. Large well appointed room. The box the bed sits in made it very uncomfortable to get in and out. I like firm but this was liking sleeping on a table. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The one gentleman explained all the paintings on the ceiling.

Really nice hotel. Good breakfast. Dinner menus can be a lot better to be honest. Nice location in Albany. Service is good but again can be better too.

Loved the experience. I loved the room; it was modern, quiet and very large with a great view of the Governor's Mansion. Perfect location close to The Egg, and the Albany Convention Center. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only wish parking was free!

Front desk was so helpful and gave wonderful reccomendations. Rooms were gorgeous and well kept. Definitely the new place I'll be staying in Albany.

Great 4 stars hotel. Clean and gorgeous. The regular bedrooms and suites are beautiful. The restaurant on-site is delicious and offers cocktail and food menus that changes periodically. It is right beside Times Union Center. Would highly recommend if you are staying in Albany for a concert or any other reason.

Best hotel downtown, hands down! I have stayed at most of the hotels surrounding the capitol and this one is by far the best. Modern, clean and air rooms, friendly staff, good restaurant. Best choice you can make!

I went there for a work holiday party. Parked in the adjacent parking garage, which was very convenient but also quite expensive. There were a few events in downtown Albany at the time, so it may have been an event rate. The inside of the hotel had a very clean and modern look. The buffet food, including carving stations, was very good. Beer selection was poor at the portable bar for our party, but they'll mix most any drink you want.

Had a nice room with a huge bathroom. They were really nice when they had to kick me out for staying too long. I guess it's in a good location? I don't know cause Albany kind of sucks.

Clean, modern and a very nice staff. It was a good visit here. I enjoyed it. Parking is more convenient than other hotels of this size. Restaurant was well managed with good prices.

Excellent place for lunch. Imaginative dishes in pretty surroundings. I had the fresh vegetable and hummus panini on whole grain bread with sweet potato fries. My companions liked their salad with baked goat cheese, fruit and pecans, and their grilled brie sandwich.

What a clean bright modern hotel. We recently stayed with the ARNE Show and will definitely stay here again when in the Albany area. The food was excellent service and staff were all friendly accommodating and made us feel welcome! So Thank you Renaissance Hotel for an outstanding job!

Update on stay with this hotel. The actual manager of the hotel contacted me and we had a very good discussion about what worked and what didn't work. Very receptive very polite made suggestions took recommendations. I give the hotel 5 stars that is an anomaly to actually have a manager automatically reach out and really want to improve service. Very new and nice rooms. They did a great job 9f blending the modern with the old and beautiful building. We stayed as a part of a wedding party and I am sure the bridal photos will turn out amazing. The hotel was able to accommodate special requests (early check-in and connecting rooms) after calling and speaking with the manager.

We were visiting Albany school of Pharmacy and came a day early and we booked the Renaissance Hotel. We were very pleased with our stay. The hotel has a historical vibe with a modern feel. They did a great job updating this hotel. Our room was very spacious — very pleased with the room layout and cleanliness. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Everyone from the front desk to the bar staff and house keeping everyone was smiling and pleasant. Made us feel right at home. They had large size game boards like connect 4 and scrabble. We enjoyed playing a game before we went to our room for the night. The parking was connected to the hotel and very convenient and the cost was reasonable that included in and out services. I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for the night (my husband, 2 year old and I) after spending the day in Saratoga. The front desk staff (Taylor especially) were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Rooms were clean and very nicely designed. The staff was very accommodating with my son as well. Highly recommend this hotel to all.

Had a great stay at the Renaissance hotel in Albany. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Hotel amenities are nice, new, clean, and modern. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Downside is the parking fee of $22 a day, I believe. That's a bit pricey but it is in a covered parking garage. Other than that, the stay was very pleasant.

Location is convenient to get to and near a lit of attractions. The dinner and drinks were excellent as was the breakfast. Great overall hotel. Parking was a little tricky to figure out, garage is in the back, and there is no valet.

Very spacious and what a gorgeous spot in terms of architecture and I bet the food is tasty because it seemed many people were coming in just to enjoy the restaurant I did not get a chance to have any of the food however. My room had spectacular views and the staff was very kind the laundry which I unfortunately had to use was great it works really well the washing machine however the front desk did not have any quarters which was a bit frustrating because it put a little damper in my timing schedule otherwise I absolutely really enjoyed the upgrades in the bathroom as well the water was perfect pressure and spacious shower to just have a spa like hour to myself and the mattress was extremely comfortable you can tell they are new and modern.

It felt like a really expensive hotel with a first class staff and nestled within other historic buildings. Resonably priced with a restaurant worth eating at, we enjoyed our brunch. The gym was enjoyable. We loved the Mexican restaurant that was walking distance away. My girlfriend and I would return again!

Received an upgraded room with a beautiful corner view. The room was spacious, clean, and modern. Service at hotel was fantastic and we are grateful for the free shuttle service they provide. Overall great experience.

Had an excellent stay for my cousin's wedding. The rooms are gorgeous and absolutely worth the price. The hotel staff were very helpful and courteous. The food at the restaurant the next morning was great too. I only live a few miles away and I will definitely be staying there again. Great place!

Nice atmosphere, nice rooms everything looked very nice. My room setup was not exceedingly beautiful due to the last of window view. All I could see was a brick wall. Despite this. Would recommend again.

Wonderful stay here! The hospitality was awesome! The event drew in thousands and all hotels in Albany were sold out yet the staff managed to keep up their fine professional efforts to appease the packed house throughout the weekend. We enjoyed our stay! The only setback was room service closes early! No 24 hr room service! Great place overall.

Great hotel, great price, amazing service all in downtown Albany. Highly recommend giving this newly renovated piece of history a shot if in town for any reason. Next to the new Capital Center and climate controlled walkway attached to the TU center. Highly recommend the Wellington for dinner and breakfast also. Make sure to understand the parking though, and how you have to pay and leave but other then that 4.7 stars overall.

I spent two nights. The hotel is clean and the restaurant is great. The highpoint was the wonderful, friendly staff. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Really added to the stay. The person at the registration dest, waitstaff, room service staff and valet service were all first rate.

Roadwarrior. Here's a 1st: Lost and Found actually had an item I left in the room! Those things normally vaporize. The Renaissance is sending it to us. Oh, and by the way, what a cool hotel. Rooms, decor, bathroom design, bedding, … all first rate. Loved it. Can't wait to return.

Stayed this week for a work trip with my team. This was the 3rd time staying here and I will be only staying at this hotel in the future when I am in the area. The staff makes you feel like family especially Nate and Spencer at the bar. I brought my team in from all areas of the northeast to have a team building meeting in our local office and truthfully the atmosphere and feel of the hotel really helped us get started. Thank you!

Beautiful room, fabulous bar! The room service delivery was prompt and friendly and the food was delicious. Attended a professional event in the large conference room and it was a lovely venue for so many people, unlike a lot of the cold, corporate feeling places you often find yourself at for events like this. The staff at the front desk seemed a little over it, but were helpful and friendly when prompted.

This seems like a very nice hotel. Although I didn't stay there, I didn't get one of the reasons and it was really nice. New and modern and looked very Comfortable. Bartenders seem competent and the service was reasonable. The lobby staff all seemed friendly.

The most aesthetically pleasing hotel I've ever been to. The staff was very helpful and courteous. Even room service was amazing. Room service took the time to organize my clothes and stuff on the desk. The best part is all the art that is spread throughout the hotel. From the magazines, books and games in the lobby. It was very chic and up to date with technology.

The lighting in the hallways and in your room look like you are in Keaneu Reeve's JOHN WICK movie. But where's the customer area in which you can use the hotel's computers?! OHhhh — — They don't have any!

The room was excellent. It had a modern design and comfortable bed. I had a very pleasant stay. The rooms even had smart TVs so you can watch netflix. The location is good, we had a view of the capital building so if your business is downtown its perfect. Service has been great too. Room service orders came quickly and were very good. I would recommend the capital burger — its a good price and better than the Irish pub down the street.

What an amazing experience. Knew this was a new hotel, but didn't realize we were staying on week 1! With that in mind, things could have gone horrible wrong… But they didn't. Our stay was luxurious, to say the very least. Nothing gave the impression that this hotel had just opened its doors. Top notch service, impeccable furnishings, wonderful staff. Will definitely be our go-to Albany hotel. The only improvement I could request is the clarity of information, especially regarding parking and the on site restaurant and bar. Perhaps some more printed literature could be provided in the rooms.
