We stayed here while visiting with my sister. It was me and my husband and my two small dogs and it was a great day. We had a big Jacuzzi tub and a beautiful big suite. But there was no handicap parking and my husband has been disabled for over a decade and on top of his disability he has a broken leg right now so that was absolutely 100% unacceptable. That and they don’t tell you about the incidental charge until after you get here per night.

Staff were very friendly and hotel is pet friendly. Our yorkie loved it!

Crystal is my main disappointment with this hotel. Attitude has never been defined without her. She asked me to be “dealt with”. You do not “deal with” customers, you serve customers. And you look into why the $120 blazer is missing.

Night staff was rude. I understand if you are having a bad day, but this was more like we were inconveniencing her by checking in (even though there was no one else there at the desk at 2:30am) and all of our questions were stupid. We have never been treated like this at a Hampton Inn before. Once we realized the hotel would not accommodate our needs (even though she said they would before she ran by card), we asked for a refund or to be transferred and she said no. When we pushed, she made a phone call, laughed at us on the side, then her and the only other man working said to just pull our truck in and block everyone and don’t worry about it. We did not feel comfortable blocking so many cars in. And the whole point was to stop and get a nap before we hit the road again. We were hoping to sleep from 3am till checkout. We had our kids with us. We wanted to sleep in so making my husband get up early to move the vehicle was not what we wanted to do. But because she wouldn’t do anything, my husband had to sleep in the truck on the street with our dog and we all had to get up and leave early in order to move our vehicle before the 8am time limit. A lot of $ spent for a 4 hour nap. We also had to ask her to remove the $75 dog fee (bc our dog slept in the truck with my husband) and the two $15 parking fees.

Breakfast was good but seating was limited, which made it crowded. The shower temperature was nearly scalding. It would have been nice to be able to adjust the temperature a little more. The bed was comfortable & the bathroom was spacious. The valet was extremely welcoming. Too bad the rest of my stay did not feel as inviting. I feel I paid too much for the accommodations under the circumstances.

Wonderful location, clean and spacious room. Good night's sleep on fluffy but firm mattress. The breakfast had ample variety and choices. One suggestion would be that an additional waffle maker is needed as waffle station is a favorite and the line can be long…

I stayed for one night, but I'd give the place five stars for the shower alone. I'm over six feet tall, so I often have to duck in hotel showers. Not here. The shower is nicely tiled with a glass enclosure. The showerhead is high enough for a tall person like me. The rest of the room was also nice. Another highlight was breakfast. They had a nice spread with several hot items.

I did not stay overnight, but met up with my Sweet Adeline chorus as we preparing to compete in our Regional Competition. From what I saw though, the hotel seemed very clean and up to date. The only issue I had was with parking. I had been prepared to park at another hotel (where other choruses were staying, and so there was a shuttle between the two hotels), but I was told that, because I was a part of the group competing, The Hampton had waived it's "overnight guests only" policy on parking and I would be able to use the on site valet parking. When I went to park and told them that I was only staying the day, the valet told me that he'd make an exception "just this once". It was my impression that the management of the hotel never told the parking valet about the special arrangement for our group. All in all though, it was a pleasant experience.

This hotel has super friendly staff, is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Albany, all of the restaurants and bars are walking distance. Our room had a perfect view of downtown. I will recommend this hotel to everyone!

Nice location in downtown Albany. Walking distance to many restaurants and night life. Room and lobby both were very nice and felt new.

This is my favorite place to stay while in Albany. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are warm, there's a great complimentary breakfast, they even have a service which brings your car to you in the morning. That last one's a little unnecessary since the parking lot isn't that big but it's still a very nice gesture.

Professional and friendly staff. Newer facility with significantly larger in-room bathrooms than the nearby Hilton. I also enjoy the included breakfast.

I stayed here for two nights and had an overall good experience. The room and general living area (hallways, reception area, elevators) were clean and easy to navigate. The view I had from the 10th floor was nice. We had a billing issue that management could not figure out and took too long to rectify.

The Queen Studio is amazingly roomy and great for families! Disappointed with Breakfast we were down to Breakfast at 9am and everything hot was gone the staff were working hard to replace but having trouble keeping up with crowd and what was most disappointing is the waffle mix was gone and apparently they were not going to make anymore despite all the guests there trying to still get breakfast! They just cleaned it up and removed it apparently once the mix for the day is gone you are out of luck — really Hampton? I have never seen a Hampton operate this way! Also please note if your toliet won’t flush they have no maintenance on staff at night so they are willing to inconveniently have you pack up you and your family and change rooms or how about fix it yourself, which is what I did. I just requested a plunger a male staff dropped it off at door and I took care of it myself… apparently plunging is not in job description but I handled it! If I put myself in their shoes how hard would it be to at least try to plunge it for the guest? I know if my husband would have been the one coming to door to hand a gal a plunger he would have been man enough to plunge a toliet to see if it’s a really must need maintenance issue! unbelievable customer service around here, very disappointed with Hampton! On a positive note the hotel was clean and is in a great location, but not a positive experience!

Hotel that has many years and would need a good renovation. Good location in the center.

The hotel is located right off the freeway and accessible and being in a very busy part of town it was still a breeze to find. The hotel instelf was nice and as far as I could tell it was very clean and inviting. The greeter was very nice and helpful although I had to ask all the questions to get any info. He did not just relay all the pertinent info (this may be a small thing but typically you're given all necessary information straightaway). Everyone was kind and our room was comfortable with a pleasant view. Our only real complaints was the fact that onsite parking was not included with room rental (an extra $14.75) and even if someone wanted to just park on the street, it is nearly impossible to find something close by.

PARKING: not happy to leave my keys with attendant. Parked in lot in front of hotel, not the hotel lot but told it would be the same. Attendant left key in the car. VENUE FOR SEMINAR : Room was too cold and getting colder as day went on. Could hear music that was either in another location or from room speakers that played in the background as speaker or video was being presented. Wi-Fi was slow and speaker has difficulty with videos. RESTAURANT : Odd things served and prices were high. Too high to expense to my employer. Ended up getting a can of soda for $2 from check in desk instead of eating. LOBBY: Lovely fireplace but lobby very bold unless you were on top of the fireplace.

The hotel looks like it's been recently remodeled, right in the heart of downtown Albany. There are lots of bars/restaurants in the area. Rooms are nice and clean. And more importantly the staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Stayed here a few times while in town for shows at the Palace Theater. Great hotel. Clean rooms, friendly staff, valet parking, and really nice breakfast. Very conveniently located to the Palace and many good restaurants and pubs. Our favorite place to stay in Downtown Albany. Some complain about the parking fee. It’s clearly spelled out on the website and frankly it’s worth having my car inside a gated lot.

I stayed here Saturday night as a Hilton Honors member. I had a hard time entering the small drive thru entrance as it was backed up. When I went to check in at the reception desk I was told there was no parking.
Unacceptable & extremely inconvenient! Thankfully, I didn't have much luggage. This is a bad situation that needs to be changed pronto.
Another guest went out to the lot & said there were many spaces. I was then charged 14.75 for valet parking. I had to deal with n…onsense from the attendant who was understandably flustered & I ended up parking my own car. It took a long time to get it all straightened out & to my room.
I'm trying to get a refund for the undisclosed & unexpected 14.75 charge for parking, but instead I'm getting the phone run around. I only had 1 car & I was told parking for 1 car was inclusive at all locations. I took off 2 stars for this. Response needed. Kristy Larson (Barnes)

I was here for a work conference. My review is limited to the breakfast provided and the conference areas. Starting there, they are nice and offer multiple sizes for different group requirements. They provided a good selection of refreshments. The provided daily breakfast is actually way above average for a hotel giveaway. They had a waffle station uncluding fresh fruits and honey, plus whipped cream for the kid in you. Nice variety of pastries, breads, cereals and juices including guava, tough to find around here. Clean area, friendly staff.

I love the size of the rooms and the wheelchair accessible room is fantastic. The staff is wonderful and the amenities are great. My only complaint is that you cannot fully close the curtain in the window because of the heating unit. Then the sun comes in the window and you can't sleep. That should be corrected.

Very clean. Great staff! The parking is valet type and you have to leave your car key with them, but the parking is in the back and seems very secure. Neighborhood is quiet with bars/restaurants/ event venues within walking distance.

I've stayed here for almost a year… that should say a lot! The place is great. The staff are incredibly kind and AWESOME — all of them from the Front Desk to the Breakfast Crew to the Cleaners to the Parking Lot Guys to the Managers… and of course… Wallace! :-) The breakfast each morning is different and delicious and the rooms are ALWAYS clean. Good workout room too! Love staying here.

We were a little unnerved when we arrived to find that they did not have rooms available because they were not cleaned yet. This only made us wait about 10 minutes and when we asked if we could get our parking comped, the person at the desk was super nice and did this for us. Rooms were nice. Bar area was nice too as we went there after our concert.

Had drinks at this brand new Hotel bar in downtown Albany. Beautiful bar, excellent access from the street & great parking lot right across to the hotel. Prices for drinks were ok and the quality was good. Service was excellent. The overall look and feel of the hotel was very new and very modern.

Was far from the crossgates mall. The lobby looked really nice and the continental breakfast had a lot of options. The rooms were relatively clean, but one of the rooms we got had a light bulb out in the bathroom. Not a big deal and was fixed quickly.

We stayed here the second night of a 2 day trip and were wishing we would have been here both nights. Great stay in many ways. Very clean and updated for the price, great location. Downsides (which weren't enough for me to give less than 5 stars) : Breakfast was good, but they were less than prepared for the traffic — struggled to keep items stocked. Parking sucks given that it's all valet. And the walls seemed on the thin side. Other than that was a wonderful stay!

It's very clean. Rooms are average size — — king. The local area has great places to eat. No bar/restaurant. However there is one located on the outside of hotel and many more within a short walk. Staff has been very helpful. Thanks.

We selected a Whirlpool suite for a 2-night stay for our anniversary. The room is nice with updated modern fixtures and comfortable furniture. We arrived 2 hours earlier than the expected check-in time (posted online as 2:00, actual check-in time was 4:00), but they moved quickly to accommodate us within 30 minutes of our arrival. Multiple quality restaurants surround the area. Breakfast is your standard continental breakfast, with two waffle makers and lots of choices of food. The valet service is professional and quick. However, we requested a complete bedding replacement for the second night (you know how anniversaries go) but none of the bedding was changed. I think our request got lost in translation to the housekeeping service, who only provided a second comforter and four extra pillows at the foot of the bed. Overall not bad, but housekeeping could do better.

It was a beautiful hotel and the breakfast was great, not just muffins and donuts! I can't believe for what we paid that we had to pay for parking on top of it! All in all we would definitely stay again but just think you may want to consider including parking for guest of your hotel.

The Hampton Inn Albany is a great place to stay! Clean rooms, friendly staff and, two blocks from the Palace Theater! I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

The breaskfeat is unbelievable its so good it's like having a meal at Cracker Barrel! The room was okay, we had to get the bathroom re cleaned but other then that's we had a great view on the 9th floor of downtown Albany, parking is very expensive about $14 but it's Better then nothing.

Disappointed by the prices and charges for parking and pets. The pet charge was not listed on the website. Nice King size bed but only four small pillows on bed. Both woke up with sore necks.

The location is great for meetings and working downtown. The free breakfast is nice, and the restaurant has a great wine list.

The rooms were very nice and the people were friendly but the parking lot was full so we had to figure out another place to park. The parking lot across the street was 10 dollars a night and we had to be out by 4 am. So that wasn't happening. They told us we could park in the hilton parking garage which we had to walk back to the hotel but in the morning when we left the guy charged me 20 dollars for one night. Come on the parking is supposed to be included in the 230 dollars they charged me to stay for one night. I'm very disappointed and will never stay there again.

Hotel has the worst service for a Hampton in. I reserved a room for January 1st to the 2nd and asked the hotel clerk if I would be able to check in at 3am and was told I could. When arriving at the hotel I was told that I could NOT check in at that time. After explaining to the clerk that I was told I could prior to that but he did not care and I was forced to drive 3 hours home… Worst customer service I have ever had.

The way most hotels work is when you check in, they place a hold on most, all, or all of the total bill plus an extra percentage. Then, when you check out, they simply process the amount they put on hold. Simple and easy. The way this hotel works, however, is they place a hold on the whole bill plus a percentage, then when you check out, they process an entirely new transaction. The consequence of this is that you will essentially be required to have over double the total bill in your account at the time of checkout. Sure, you'll get half of it back in 3 to 5 business days, but that's still double the total amount that you need to plan for. What happened with my experience is that they tried to do this, but I only planned for the total bill, so they just took every last cent I had in my account when I checked in. Then, when checking out, they were forced to just let me leave without paying, because I didn't have enough to process a second payment. Then, three weeks later, they just randomly decided to process the payment — no call, no email, no warning of any kind. But, not only was it the full payment, they processed a second full payment plus a percentage as well. So, now I have over $500 randomly charged to my bank account without any warning… Unless you have an excess of money just sitting around, I would highly recommend avoiding this hotel. The room was nice — I can at least give it that.

I was very reluctant to stay at this hotel due to the bad reviews and when I called the hotel to cancel my stay I spoke to a lovely young lady Robin that reassured me that I would be very pleased with my stay and that management had made some changes. I'm very glad I listened to Robin she sounded so genuine that I had to go for it. It was our best stay at a hotel. Hampton Inn downtown Albany is great! Disregard all the bad reviews… This hotel is clean it's quite and when you have staff like Robin that cares about your experience an has so much pride, passion and loyalty its the best feeling! We are definitely going back! Thanks Robin and Hampton Inn staff for a wonderful stay. See you next year!
