Staff very friendly and helpful. Man at front desk extremely helpful. Room was clean and comfy. Bathroom was awesome with walk in shower. Great price.

Clean nicely designed rooms. Friendly staff. Breakfast included. Great fitness room. But valet parking only and no pool.

Great location! Within walking distance of the Empire State Plaza. We had a suite and the bathroom was fantastic. Heated floors and a deep jacuzzi tub.

Very nice hotel within walking distance to Capitol buildings. I was here on business and enjoyed the stay. Breakfast was good only problem was the Wi-Fi did not work I had to use the hotspot on my phone to get online.

I was here for medical surgery. I finished my surgery on Monday (the day I was supposed to check out) but was in too much pain to leave that day. So right before 3pm, I went online to extend my stay for one more night for an extra $145 charge. In full honesty, they had agreed earlier to extend my checkout to 3pm for a small free, which I was thankful for. After this, I was unable to change my plane ticket and left before 4pm. Since then, they have refused to issue me my refund. I spoke to the manager and even pleaded for a partial refund, explaining my situation but they still refused. Will never stay here again. Also, when I called, I was told there was no manager around to speak to me, and when I asked for a time to call back to speak with the manager, I was told they didn't know when the manager would be in. A few minutes later into the conversation, I asked for a manager again and was transferred to one. Kind of tells you all you need to know about this hotel.

Great place. Smaller hotel but rooms were large with 2 closets and nice bathroom. We had room 603. Breakfast was excellent and there is free parking on the streets after 5 pm (and free from 5pm Friday to 8 am Monday. )

Love this hotel. It is an old downtown building that has been converted to a hotel. Large, very comfortable rooms. Since it is downtown, it is close to restaurants, even with some in walking distance. Parking can be a little difficult during the week, but on weekends street parking is free. Valet parking is available, but getting your car back can be slow, so plan for a 10 minute wait during busy checkout times. Service is good and desk is always manned with nice courteous individuals.

As always a pleasant stay. The hotel is very clean and kept up. Great location. The front staff is by far superior. Some of the best in the business. I feel like I'm qualified to say that because I spent 22 years in that industry and now I stand hotels 340 days of the year. Look forward to my next return and I highly recommend this property with five stars.

Our room keys were not working. It was finally determined the entire lock system was defective. Nothing could be done, had to put in work order. At 11 P. M. They offered to move us to a smaller room on the same floor. Offered us 5000 points but no other compensation. Had to have one person stay in room otherwise could not get in. Manager was never available. Poor service.

It was a wonderful experience. The staff was very accommodating and Sabrina at the front desk went above and beyond as there was a problem with the TV in my room and she was diligent in moving me to another room. Pleasant experience! Would definitely stay here again!

I stayed at this hotel for 4days 3nights Room was beautiful and clean nice location everyone was helpful. Breakfast was good they had everything I ask for. Tina … She does breakfast Asad… Front desk and Crystal front desk Antwand, valet parking Shalonda… Manager I had to ask for the names because my keys got stuck in car and they help me not pay 75dollars for key… so happy holidays to the staff there and if anyone looking for place go there you will love the experience.

Accommodations were great and close to the state capital. If you are looking for a quality hotel with a quick stay, this is it.

Room was beautiful, bathroom fully stocked with towels. Lots of TV channels. Didnt use it but the fireplace was a nice touch.

Decent accommodations and conveniently placed downtown. It is an older building so expect a nonstandard layout and the elevators can be spotty. It gets the job done.

Hotel is in a great location for downtown activities. Staff is extremely friendly and always willing to help out when needed. Rooms are pretty typical for this type and aren't anything special.

Stayed here last weekend because it was convenient to a race we were running. The hotel was clean and neat and located in the center of town, which was nice because we got to tour the city a bit. Because of the race we didn't' get to try breakfast or any of the other amenities but maybe next time.

We had to wait for our room to be ready and the front desk staff was keeping us up to date on what was happening. They were very nice and accommodating as we went through this process. That is why I like coming to this hotel and the breakfast can not be beat!

A pleasantly surprising little gem. This Fairfield has about twenty rooms. Mine had a king bed and a spacious layout. Fantastic bathroom with tub and walk-in shower. There are several excellent restaurants within a short walk. I'm a runner and easily got to the river path for a long run. If you have to be downtown in Albany this is an affordable winner.

Stayed for a weekend with my wife and 2 1/2 year old daughter for pirate and princess tour and our stay was great. Great staff nice room good breakfast buffet. Wasn't until we left and got back to Syracuse that we realized they charged us twice for the one stay. 202 for 2 nights and then noticed it was pending for the 2nd time. It's been a hassle to get it cleared up and the hotel was no help. Finally spoke with my bank and cleared it up after the hotel sent a copy of the charge for the stay to my bank and the 2nd charge was removed and refunded. Be careful and make sure you keep the receipt from the hotel.

Great Location, Historic Hotel Cassie checked us in and gave us a nice room with updated amenities (just a bit small though) on 8th floor with Hudson River view and also she gave us some saving coupons since we are diamond members of their hotel chain. Location is very convenient. You can walk to NY state capitol, City Hall, Empire State Plaza and many other attractions. It is very close to Times Union Center too and We went to see The Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus show there during our stay and enjoyed it very much. BTW, Many stores open late and close early in Albany Downtown area during weekend. (like 8am to 5pm only) All in all, we like this hotel and recommend it as a nice base touring Albany Downtown area. Stayed May 2013, traveled as a couple.

Wonderful hotel. Staff is fantastic and very attentive. Lots of nice perks (bottled water, cookies, breakfast). I was in one of the rooms that has already been renovated and it was clean and very comfortable.

Although we were here for about 9 total hours as a stop off between NYC to Cooperstown, I enjoyed my stay here. We were fortunate to park in front on the street and knew we'd be leaving before the meter started, so good news there. The front desk person was friendly and knew who we were as we were the last reservation of the day. The room was bigger than I expected and had an old-school stately feel. I thought it might even be haunted (but upon a little Google investigation, I don't think it is). The bathroom was enormous and the bed was nice and comfortable. Free Wi-Fi and free complimentary breakfast which is such a plus whenever we're traveling. The breakfast is set up in the restaurant and has Belgian waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, muffins, bagels, cereals, etc. Plus, coffee and juices. The person helping out with the breakfast was friendly and helpful. I think for the price this hotel was a good value. We wanted to stay in Cooperstown, but one, I didn't know how small the town was and two, it was Hall of Fame induction weekend so every place was packed. Should I ever find myself in Albany again, I will remember this hotel and book a room.

Convenient, inexpensive (~$100/night thru Priceline), clean and a little swanky. Newly redone in an art decoration style building. Valet parking, friendly staff and nice amenities. The bathroom is gorgeous! Will want to try to book this one again.

Comfortable hotel, close to the New York State Capitol. Stayed up here for the bar swearing in ceremony, and it was really convenient. I rented a car at the airport and drove in, when I should have just taken a taxi, but they offer valet parking with unlimited re-entry for just $16/day. The concierges were very friendly and professional, and my room was clean and quiet. Overall a great deal.
