Nice clean room! Cozy atmosphere with great helpful staff.

The man who checked us in tonight (New Years) was so nice. We accidentally left my husbands wallet and he came and brought it back to us. The hotel is very cute and the man who checked us in late tonight really has made our stay great!

Great place to stay while in Taos. Great location in the middle of everything. The hotel has a cozy ambiance and the staff is friendly and very accommodating. We love Taos and we love this hotel.

La Fonda is a neat hotel, located in the city center. Beds are comfortable, with extra pillows and blankets. Very nice hotel and friendly staff.

Great hotel & coffee in the center off Taos.

So clean and cozy! The room felt more like a cozy bedroom instead of a hotel room. The staff was great and personable!

My husband and I just stayed here while celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary. The hotel was beautiful, the accommodations very comfortable, the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, and the staff were friendly. Thank you, we really enjoyed our stay!

Very nice but restaurant and bar were closed. This was one of the reasons we stayed there.

Perfect location right on the plaza. My room was 204, only queen with a fireplace and a view of mountains. Historic hotel, but very clean. Only drawback is no breakfast included. So comfortable though!

Very cute place, authentic new Mexican. I loved how it was a part of the plaza, and you can walk tooat places in taos from here.

Simply stepped in to look at the lobby, but greeted warmly and made to feel welcome. Beautiful historic hotel!

This is an historical hotel located in the historic district. It is well maintained. We were there for a meal. The food was good and the prices were very reasonable.

We stayed here for 4 nights. The room was clean, updated, and quiet. The hotel has maintained its historic charm without looking old or dated. The staff were incredibly helpful and courteous. The location is within walking distance of all the things to do in town. We will definitely stay here again!

BEWARE: Even though they publish a "FREE CANCELLATION DATE" they hit your credit card for your charges — immediately… Then, when you call them they give you double talk about how they have issued you the refund — but they just can't tell you when you might see the money back on your card? Funny how they can hit your credit card in 15 seconds — but it might take you weeks to see your money back in your account. Makes vacation planning a real nightmare…

This is a Fabulous place! My husband & I were there while Plaza was lit for Christmas! So, beautiful every night! We had one of the 2 Rooms with balconies, overlooking it all! It was our 1st anniversary, they were so very gracious, to send a beautiful card & a bottle of wine for us to enjoy, Can’t wait to see this beautiful Plaza & the la Fonda again soon, this historic area is very in bracing! Hope you and yours can come see! It’s a must! Delia & Doug! Blessings.

Phenomenal staff, visit the coffee shop inside the hotel everyday.

Rooms on the front facing the plaza are very noisy, music blaring from 4:30 — 10:00 PM. I wondered why the ear plugs in the vanity kit!?! Front desk people are very loud in the morning — no reason for it, really. Rates seemed very high for a town of 5, 000 people and the ski area closed. Parking fee ($12/night) seems unnecessary. The restaurant was closed and the coffee place off the lobby didn’t open one morning.
Taos is a pretty cool town but this property is not a great value. Will perhaps try one of the B&B’s around town next time.

Comfy little hotel! Staff is very friendly and helpful! The room was clean and the bed had ample numbers of pillows. Convenient location.

The hotel itself was beautiful inside and the staff was friendly. The room itself was nothing special and a little on the small side. Was very disappointed that the cafe was closed for dinner for the fall hours. When it was time for breakfast before we left, the cafe and the coffee shop were both closed and this was about 8:30 AM. Love the history of the hotel and the town. For me… that was worth it!

Nice room with fireplace overlooking the plaza. Had Wi-Fi issues, but other than that no trouble.

Very nice hotel, right on tje square. Staff is very knowledgeable of local events and history.

Food was delicious! I had the smothered burrito, and not one complaint. The chips and salsa were fresh and quite good. Only complaint is their low on staff. There was one waiter for the resturant, but he was working it out! Kitchen turned out the food quick, but the waiter was the true star.

This is a historic location in the beautiful heart of Taos New Mexico the service was amazing the food was 5 star. Will definitely be stopping or staying there anytime I pass through Taos.

We had lunch at the hotel restaurant. The food was great and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was amazing.

For some reason we were put in a handicapped room. A room (#208) that had no AC (yes it was hot) we had to leave a window open and the sound from the swamp cooler was insane (swamp cooler?! Who was getting cool air, not us). One half roll of TP in the bathroom, by the time we discovered this, it was really late, so just went to our vehicle and got our own. Go to check out and they tell us we have a balance of $6 for parking, we abruptly told her we paid that in cash at check-in. We were so excited to stay there and soooo disappointed! Won't go back and definitely not recommend.

Over priced and over rated. Save your money. The Inn of the Governors is a block away with nicer rooms and perks.

Noulas coffee shop is a bit dark but coffee is decent and sweets by American Pie are good. It shares space with the lobby which gives it more of an expansive feeling.

This review is specifically about the coffee shop and not the hotel. I don't usually write reviews. Takes a lot for me to waste my time. I have never been treated so rudely as I was treated. I am not sure if my short hair that might point to my sexuality was behind her treatment but she all but told three of us to get out with a condescending smile. We did. I'll spend my money elsewhere.

My husband and I loved our romantic getaway at the Hotel la Fonda. We loved the on site restaurant! We were also able to walk to other restaurants because of the location which was nice. The location on the Plaza is just wonderful because of he access to the historic district. This property is not on the slopes. We loved hearing about the history of the property but is has been completely renovated so there is no fear that it is historic. We will be back for another romantic getaway.
