Front desk staff was awesome… friendly, helpful, willing to go the extra mile. Room was small, clean and had a swamp cooler instead of air conditioning. Our stay was ruined however, by our inconsiderate neighbors next door who smoked constantly and invaded our room with their stink and lack of courtesy. The facility should get into the 21st century and make the entire place non-smoking. This really ruined an otherwise nice experience, I felt that I was smoking right along with these morons.

This is the most fabulous bed an breakfast. Outstanding breakfast, very pleasant staff, beautiful rooms, charming atmosphere. The only place to stay in Taos.

This place was amazing. The staff are the most sincere helpful people we've ever experienced. The stay was comforting and the breakfast is phenomenal, top notch!

Wonderful, wonderful inn. One of my favorite places I've ever stayed. Each room was unique, tastefully decorated and really comfortable. The entire staff was friendly, helpful and so accommodating. In our two day stay, we learned everyone's name and they became almost like old friends. The full breakfast was out of this world with home made muffins, home made granola and eggs made to order. Oh my gosh, it's almost worth a trip to Taos just to stay here.

Rooms were older but comfortable. Breakfast and service was spectacular!

We stayed for a couple of nights while enjoying a mini-vacation in Taos. The hotel is very close to several tasty restaurants, numerous galleries, museums, and the plaza. The breakfast choices were delicious, as were the afternoon snacks. The staff were also extremely pleasant and helpful! We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

This little inn was an awesome place to spend a long weekend away with my significant other! We got upgraded to a bigger, more quiet room when we arrived that was beautiful and so peaceful! The breakfast was delicious, and the staff is just awesome. Plus, it is right across the street from the plaza-10 minutes of walking got us to pretty much any shop or restaurant we wanted. I would highly recommend staying here if you are in Taos.

Good food lovely decor. People not that friendly. It was as though I was invisible. I've stayed here several times before, probably will not return.

Charming B&B with museum-like decorations, all native to the area. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Afternoon tea featured too many delicious pastries that could spoil your dinner plans.

Location is excellent in Taos, rooms are nice, clean, and roomy. The breakfast and afternoon tea are amazing and entirely homemade! Service is wonderful!

Great location, easy walking to downtown Taos. Liberal yet tasteful use of 'Taos Blue' paint throughout corbels and railings. Overall, my wife and I loved our stay here, breakfast was welcoming and delicious. Would be 5 stars but the lobby closes at 6:30, so be sure to get ice early!

There were a few mildly non-perfect things, but we look forward to staying here again some day. Breakfast was big and delicious and homemade, not processed stuff out of a box. Rooms were clean and location couldn't be better. Friendly staff and owner. Horrible coffee at breakfast but tea time is fun and yummy. Cafe Taza a short walk away has really good coffee for a fraction of Starbucks prices, with fantastically authentic owner and staff.

Love it, highly recommend. Beautifly decorated good beds, fantastic breakfast, even have desserts, coffee, tea and cookies available in eve. Rooms don't have refrigerators so when I asked for one the girl at the front desk upgraded me at no extra cost to the suite with full kitchen, it was a separate little cottage from the hotel. Just 2 blocks from town square and shopping. Staff completely accomodating. Worth the extra $$. Usually stay at a LA Quinta, but this had atmosphere and plenty of art in the 2 story adobe lobby. Stayed there in March. (Off season). One downside, the heater occasionally woke me up with a loud bang. Old gas heaters.

This is a beautifully decorated b&b in a great location. The afternoon tea/coffee/cookies were very nice. The rooms, however, had terrible climate control, and the shower drain was clogged throughout our stay. The reason for the deducted star is that the management does not enforce hygiene discipline in its waitstaff. The woman who served us at breakfast was visibly ill, and repeatedly sneezed into the palm of her hand while setting our table and serving us.

This was a wonderful place that we happened on by accident. We thought we died and went to heaven after sleeping in that wonderful bed. The breakfast was fantastic. I will recommend it highly.

Lovely place, great atmosphere and breakfast. I do wish the hot tubs were fixed though, especially after a long day hiking or skiing.

We stumbled upon this place by accident but we really enjoyed it. The room was very nice, the location was perfect (about a block from the square) and the host and hostess were very gracious and accommodating. They clearly love what they are doing and the result is wonderful service and attention to detail. Highly recommend it.

Teddy, Sept. 20, 2011 — charming, well appointed rooms, amazing breakfast, yummy afternoon tea, beautiful surroundings, easy walk to plaza, restaurants, sightseeing, and of course shopping. Loved it.

Coming from Philadelphia, as we do, we know a little something about LOVE. (This is, after all, the “City of Brotherly Love”). We know there are many different kinds of love — — brotherly love, love of family, love for others, and romantic love. All these “loves” are on display at Casa Benavides — — making your stay commodious, enjoyable, easy, and romantic. There’s love in every room — — as evidenced by the artistic care taken in the individual motifs. Our San Tomas demonstrated a great love for God with its icons and retablos. The “vaquero” room showed love and reverence for the New Mexican cowboy. While Jemez did the same for the Native American. To be sure there’s love in every bite of the wonderful breakfast granola, quiche, waffles and mufffins; and even more love in the lemon bars, wedding cookies and other sweets that appear each afternoon at 3 p. M. For tea. The kitchen angels show love in all they produce and in the service they provide. Finally there’s the romantic love still shown between the owners Barbara and Tom. Their enduring love for each other is the engine for everything else. We got married here at Casa Benavides in December 2010. It WAS the Perfect spot.

Great food and wonderful accommodations, but the regular front desk person repeatedly made it clear she had better things to do than assist guests. Since the front desk is the Inn's only source of assistance, the bad behavior trumped the food and accommodations. I have managed a service-related business for nearly a decade, and this is among the worst five percent of service-oriented behaviors I've seen.
