Room was small but clean and nice. Was disappointed that there was not coffee in the room as well as shampoo and conditioner. Everyone has that now. Had to go to office to get a small cup of coffee.

The rooms were clean and the location easy to access. Since I was staying for a week, I would have appreciated having the opportunity to not have the towels/sheets/soap changed everyday.

The rooms were clean although they are very small. Morning coffee is free but no other food is available. There is an ice machine, a soda machine and a pool available. The staff was polite and an extra towel was provided on request.

Rooms are clean, peaceful and quiet neighbors most of the time but the rooms are quite a bit pricey during the tourist seasons staff what nice, free ice and a $1 soda vending machine stayed here 4 times.

The bathroom sink was clogged. Bathtub didn't drain. Air conditioner was turned on and the heat started. Cigarette smoke smell came through the bathroom vents. Two double beds crammed into a space for one queen. Wi-Fi was iffy and unpredictable. Room smelled stale. We lifted up the sheets and there were stones, tree seeds, and dirt between the mattress cover and the sheet. The floors were dirty and there was trash from the people before us. Recommend spending an extra $20 and go elsewhere. Anywhere else.

I'd rated this place a 2 because they are over priceing people just because there's alot of oil company's around. What about the average family that's actually visiting in town for a few days. Its not worth 1000 a week, in my opinion.

Better than most motel 6 and reasonably priced for the area. The saltwater pool was a nice change from the HEAVILY chlorinated pools at every motel/hotel. The rooms were clean and kept up. It's Motel 6 so the room size is the same exact size as if you stayed at a motel 6! Two beds and enough room for a blow up in the middle. Giving it a 5 to up the overall rating, but really it's still a 4.

The staff was nice and room was clean but very small. The parking lot was full of oil field truck which made it hard for to find a parking spot for our trailer. They have spots for trailers on the north side and pull in parking in front of the rooms but the pipeliners put there trucks wherever they wanted.

While updated the room still had a musty odor. The update was poorly done with paint dripped on the tile. The sink and mirror were set for someone who is 5 ft tall. I'm 6 ft and I had to bend over for everything I had to do. While I was there the clientele was 90% oil field workers. Loud trucks and they like to sit outside there rooms and drink until midnight. My room was noisy with highway traffic, people walking upstairs and talking outside. At check in the clerk barely tolerated talking to me.

Had a very nice stay! They were very attentive to our needs. Rooms were well kept!

The room was pitifully small. It was spotless though. Of course, with the Big Six there was no discernible breakfast, but it was not expected. I thought the price was extreme considering the general lack of amenities.

The room was a little small but adequate. It was clean and kept up well and the beds were comfortable. Was especially pleased that it is pet friendly and no additional charge for pets. It was easily accessed from the main road with easy-on/easy-off. Staff was friendly and advised us for parking as we had an oversized vehicle. Would stay there again!

Friendly staff, clean room, nice pool, quiet. Room itself was nothing special but adequate for a night stay and the price was more than reasonable compared to other hotels we looked at in the area. Would recommend for a short stay.

For what I paid for 2 nights I was overall satisfied. It's about 25 minutes from the Carlsbad Caverns and an hour from Guadalupe Peak. Worth staying at. Not the friendliest staff, but overall I would give this Motel 6 a B+

Very huge motel. Lot of people who live there. But it is quite enough to spend a night. We asked months before our stay for a downstairs room, but they give us an upstairs room… and they could not change that. Very busy at check-in. But it was a clean room with comfy beds.

The motel was pretty full but we had no trouble with noise. Its not a scary place, but if you are not a fan of Motels they have a security lock from the inside that makes the card reader shut off so the door cannot be open. Also that was the cleanest motel 6 I've ever been to. Great location for the CAVE.

This hotel was in the higher price range for the quality. It was also really gross, the entire room had barely been cleaned. There were splatters on the mirror and towel holder from toothpaste and the bathroom floor was a complete mess. I recommend paying the little bit extra to stay in a higher quality hotel.

Took our chances, seeing as it's one of the cheapest around Carlsbad Caverns. But the room looked and smelled clean, the beds were soft and covers were nice. It looked nice and modern. The office person was nice and attended quickly. Definitely would recommend and book when visiting the caves again!

It was a pleasant stay, staff was helpful, informative. Was a great experience at a motel6 I didn't expect much from this venue for the price, but was a pleasant experience would stay again in a heartbeat, only thing I would like to see different would be the pool clean, even though it wasn't bad just leaves from the wind throughout the day, not their fault if they cleaned after every wind blew someone would be there all the time. So over all great stay.

Way better than I expected! The outside looks old but the inside clearly had renovations. When we arrived, the room was cool, clean, and neat. 24 hour check in available. Great place for the price!

The hotel is located in a nice part of town. It is really close to the caverns and you can get anywhere in town off the main road. The Hotel room was small. We had a double bed room and with the two beds there wasn't much room to move around. The air conditioner worked very well. The showers here good, good water pressure. I would have to say the biggest complaint we had would be the parking. The first night we were there we hard to park a ways away from our room because all the spots were full with work trucks and the second night we stayed we had to wait 20 minutes for a truck and trailer to park so we could get around to our room. The other complaint would be there isn't an area for dogs to use the bathroom. Our dogs are used to grass and we had to drive them to a park for them to relieve themselves. Overall it is a good, clean hotel. No problems.

Staff was friendly and rooms were nice but a bit small. The Bathroom was clean, shower had lots of water pressure. There was not a lot of available parking spaces but if you don't mind a short walk then that won't be an issue. Great for just staying overnight and the cost was very reasonable. Overall we enjoyed are stay.

Parking was awful. There was months of layers of dust in the towel holder. Pretty sure one towel had blood on it. Boogers behind the door of the bathroom. The only plus was that it was the least expensive in Carlsbad without names like econo something or you're going to get stabbed inn.

I'm only giving it two stars because the staff was pleasant and the upgrades to the motel are decent. Aside from that, my experience here was horrible. I decided to stay here because I didn't want to crash and roll over on the highway from falling asleep on the road with my two children in the car. Had to threaten the people in the next room that I was going to call the police about the noise and slamming the door constantly at 2:30 in the morning because they were back and forth between guest rooms. After that, it stopped. It seems the majority of occupants here are contract oil and energy workers and that's fine, but maybe their unruly family members tag along with them. I suggest you pay a little extra to stay at the Fairfield Inn down the street or La Quinta so you won't have to deal with situations such as what I had to deal with. Motel 6 is usually a great option for the price and will continue to use them, but never again here in Carlsbad.

The hotel was great! Room came with fridge, microwave and the flatscreen had HDMI accesibility.

The only thing decent about this hotel is the night attendant — she was pleasant and helpful. The room fell below decent standards — too cramped! The parking spaces were very tight and difficult to remove small children from my car. Was a bit noisy and used the sound of the AC as a buffer. I do not recommend this hotel for accommodations in Carlsbad, NM.

The motel is older, BUT very clean and remodeled. Staff was friendly with fast and efficient check-in and check-out. We were on the first floor and it was quiet. Outstanding value for the price!

Decent for a Motel 6, very clean, nice personnel… and evidently expensive. I paid 65, was told that the prices shot up in the last 5 years with the oil and gas boom. But a decent room, plenty for me. Nice bed.

Rooms are what you would expect for the price — absolutely worth it! Staff here was very interested in providing a clean hotel. I was very pleased with room service and the diligence with which they worked on the hotel.

My family and I arrived at this place after our car was stuck in the snow. Martha was working at the front desk and was so friendly and helpful. Room 114 was very clean and all appliances worked well. :) A+++

Good pricing for a basic room. Ours had some hair gel in some of the power outlets, there were enough without so it was fine. No other complaints. Showers were high powered, beds were comfortable.

The first time I stayed there, I was in room 128. It was clean, everything was in proper working order. I had a great stay. Because of this, I chose to stay there again. This time I was in 135. Completely different experience. The sound on the television didn't work when I plugged in my DVD player in, which I brought specifically to watch movies in the room. It sounded like major construction was happening in the room next door. There was 6 inches of electrical tape going from the outlet and up the cord for the A/C. The filter was broken, and it was making the loudest, most God-awful noises like a cricket being beat with a hammer. The room itself was relatively clean. There were some dust particles on the sheets. Will still stay here due to the price (I can get two nights there for the price of one elsewhere), but I hope the next room is better than 135.

This location was actually a little bit better than I remember my last Motel 6 stay. The staff here don't go out of their way to be friendly or helpful (I don't think they realize they're in the service industry) and the room had a couple issues like one of the lights was out, the sink didn't drain properly and the toilet seat wasn't secured. But all in all, especially compared to the other prices around Carlsbad, it was pretty good. The a/c was awesome and kept the room very cool. The room was very clean, the TV was nice, the beds were comfortable, and the room was updated. Though the room was tiny, again, it was a decent stay.

ADVANTAGES: The room was clean and quiet. The hotel was located in a safe, well-lit area close to the trade show venue (Carlsbad Exhibition Center) where I worked that weekend. The front desk attendants were pleasant and helpful. AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT: The nightstand on the left-hand side of the bed had some gooey dirt on it when I arrived. The Microfridge did not have a freezer section. Therefore, I couldn't freeze the refrigerant gel packs (similar to clean blocks of ice) that I use to keep the food items and the beverage items cold inside the coolers that I use while traveling to trade show locations, while traveling home from trade show locations, and while working during trade shows. Fortunately, the ice machine worked, so I was able to fill one cooler with ice to cool items during the two days that I worked at a trade show and during the return trip home.

Room is small but updated! Area is not good! If $20 cheaper would be worth it!

Slightly more expensive than the average Motel 6 due to the touristy travel, it was not centrally located and took some time to get around. It had a distinct pet odor since I was traveling with pets but was comfortable after a long drive and I wish I could have stayed longer.

The room was neat and clean, with refrigerator, microwave, and a small table with two chairs. It had what we needed, and was a bargain compared to the other chain motels in Carlsbad, which were listed at double what we would have expected to pay! Since we were on the road and just needed a place to sleep and shower, it was fine. And the table was nice — we saved money by eating leftovers we had brought along, and the refrigerator helped us keep our stuff cold.

Check your billing upon leaving. I was charged for 3 nights' stay, although we stayed only 2. Trying to get credit back is proving to be difficult. Still haven't received credit, after 10 days and being assured that it would be received within 24 hours by the desk clerk upon check out.

Our non smoking room smelled like an ashtray. It was overwhelming. Now, our luggage, bags and clean clothes do too.

About average room quality and service. Price, however, was over $100 per night. Much too expensive for a motel 6.

Clerk was very friendly, and recommended restaurants and things to see and do. Room was nice and clean. It has a mini fridge, but no hair drier. There is no electrical outlet near the table, making it difficult to use a laptop at the table. The TV is mounted on the wall above the table. It has a USB outlet which can be used for charging devices, but it is only active when the TV is on.

Pool and people were wonderful. Beds not so much. Could feel the springs and woke up with hip pain from them. Glad they are redoing the rooms. They need it but hate the new design, the coverlets in particular.

Horrible. Dirty, filthy, I will never set foot on motel 6 again. The floor was dirty, if you dared looked beneath the beds, you would have seeing that they never being clean under before. refrigerator and microwave was filthy, I didn't even dared to put something inside. sheets were stained, even it would have cost 20$ I will not set my foot there with my kids, stay away.

Had a wonderful time! The room was extremely clean! loved the colors in the room! The bed was extremely comforble. And the staff was so nice and helpful! I plan on staying here everytime I am in Carlsbad, NM.

We stayed one night this week. The rooms were clean and adequate for the price and recently remodeled. The staff was very friendly. It is an older motel, so it isn't fancy. They are pet friendly in that they welcome dogs. I was concerned that we had no place close by though for our dog to potty. The only grassy area they offered in the back of the hotel was filled with stickers. All in all, if it had not been for our 4 legged baby, we would be glad to stay there again.
