Decent rooms but they hold an extra $125 at check in for incidentals! I travel ALOT domestic and international and I've never paid that much for incidentals. This is no fancy hotel so it's even more shocking to me. Also, the dining experience in the restaurant is HORRIBLE! The food tastes like grade school cafeteria food. I paid $16.00 for 3 small dried up pieces of chicken fingers on a wilted piece of lettace and waitress was not friendly. She was more concerned with rushing to get off work. For breakfast I went with the buffet which was $18.00 and not worth the money. Everything looks like it was sitting there since yesterday. Unfortunately there are no other dining options around so they got me pretty good.

Clean; staff is exceptional; modern spacious rooms; fitness center. Good for a quick stay in between flights. Convenient shuttle to airport.

This holiday inn is very conveniently placed near the Newark Airport with a complementary shuttle service — approxinately 10 minute ride. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. And the room was comfortable and well kept. One flaw is the lack of nearby restaurants within walking distance. Fortunately, delivery from GrubHub saved dinner!

Very, very nice. Carpet looks new throughout, good restaurant and bar. Friendly service at both and the front desk. I loved the audio/video interface beneath the TV.

Zero stars — I booked the holiday inn through a website as my flight got cancelled at Newark airport. When I got to the Holiday inn they said they cancelled my reservation because of a credit card issue and the hotel was now full. After speaking with the website that I booked the hotel through, they confirmed that the Holiday Inn cancelled my reso at their own will, not because of a credit card issue. Holiday Inn was able to jack up their price and get more for the room given the high demand since flights were being cancelled. it was appalling to think they would do this. I am a young woman travelling on my own and had no where to stay.

Nice room, friendly staff, convenient location. I just wish there was complimentary breakfast. All in all was satisfied. Would stay again if I was in the area.

We ended up getting a room here after we missed a late connection and had to spend the night. The guy working the front desk was so nice and it was great to encounter a friendly face at 2:30 an after a long day. Knowing we were unexpectedly stuck, he comped us breakfast. Those little things are nice when everything else is going so badly! The room was very comfortable and quiet. The cleaning lady in the morning was also very friendly. Breakfast was very tasty. Much better than I've had at Holiday Inn in the past. Overall, my experience with this hotel helped make a miserable experience slightly better, and that is a great compliment!

Put us on top floor, got in at 4am. At 8am hammer drill and sledgehammer start over my room. Sounds like they are in my room. Expensive breakfast, not good breakfast. Dirty menus. Front desk was a bit of a pain, but wasn't too bad… But the noise… Also my access card stopped working hours before checkout. Would not suggest EWR location until it's done renovations, and the restaurant staff are changed. Will avoid this brand due to lack of free or good breakfast, I'll take free or good, I'd prefer both, but demand at least one category.

Perfect room, friendly staff, big comfy bed, the best pillows, plenty of towels. A welcome retreat after a 11 hour flight. Friendly shuttle driver gave me EXCELLENT service too. Highly recommend. Didn't eat any food there so can't speak for the food or servers. No complaints.

The hotel is in a good location, when it comes to proximity to the airport. Traffic is insane when I was in town for 2 weeks. Construction was every where. The location seems to be in a neighborhood I would not be seen at night. However, my stay was pleasant. The restaurant and bar inside were decent, in the pricey range. 15% gratuity is automatically added to your bill. It's hard to find food around the area, unless you want to drive out and face the NJ traffic. The attendants at the main desk we're friendly and seemed to care about your concerns. My room was clean and I have no complaints whatsoever.

Excellent hotel to do night before any inconvenience with flights. The shuttle is free from the airport to the hotel. Highly recommended for its large rooms and amenities.

A nice hotel. Kinda is a weird spot cause of the construction out front, but you wouldn't know by the inside. Nice cafe. Only thing is that it had an odd smell to it. I couldn't place it. But I would stay there again.

Relatively new hotel. Very clean and well maintained. The staff was very friendly during check in. Perfect room for rest and work. Will definitely select this hotel in the future.

The check-in process was very quick and the front desk employee was professional and friendly. The room (King) was nice and spacious. The sink is outside of the bathroom which was a little strange for me, but I like the idea. It allows for no interference between multiple people if one needs to shower or use the toilet and another needs to just wash hands or brush teeth. One of the drawbacks of the room was the lack of a refrigerator and microwave. Also, one of bedside drawers wouldn't close; it would just slide back open if I tried to close it. Room service was tasty and filling. I wish the prices weren't as expensive though.

Staff was friendly and helpful in making accommodations for my room. The hotel and room was clean and we'll kept. Transport to and from the hotel was frequent and timely. I was able to catch a ride to the Mall from the airport. I recommend this Holiday Inn.

Very convenient to the airport. Very clean. Comfortable beds. Staff was very friendly. I was also very pleased with the price. Did not eat at the restaurant, but it smelled wonderful. I really liked that the sink was separate rome the toilet/shower area. I would definitely go here again. That way someone could do their teeth/ hair while someone else showered.

The hotel and room were nice but the staff project a feeling that they don't want to work there. I had three interactions with them and in all instances they seemed to be annoyed at my presence rather than being willing to service a customer. Although I liked the room itself I will most likely not be back again. I'd rather pay more and get a higher level of service for myself and my family.

Rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are friendly. Was happy to find an updated room with lots of tech hookups. Too advantage of the free shuttle that runs 24 hours. We ordered rooms service and the quality of the food was decent and it tasted again (was not a fan of rubbery beef on the nachos though — I'd avoid that option). Paid $20 to stream a still in theaters movie but was disappointed btly the terrible quality of the image. The TV seemed decent (largish flat screen) but the image quality was so bad it was difficult to read text that appeared on the screen.

Looks like my review regarding price gouging got deleted. Funny thing is, after I left the review, a charge for $256 was drafted out of my account for nights we didn’t even stay! I had to call and get that straightened out by a very nice staff member, who was NOT the manager, Nikki. Nikki is the one who quoted a price then raised it again and told us it raised over an hour’s time. She said “the rates go up every hour. ” This was after the big snow storm that caused flight canc…ellations. She also told me upon checking out that “they have no control over the rates there at the hotel. ” I had my two daughters with me, and a friend. The Hampton in Harrison happily accommodated us at a reasonable price so we switched hotels in the middle of the winter storm. I wish my original review was still here so everyone could read the entire story. Clean hotel, friendly bar and restaurant staff but I’ll never return to this hotel, and I’ll be sharing this experience with all of my friends/family.

I would have given a five stars except for the location as there isn’t anything within walking distance such as groceries or convenience store! Otherwise it’s a very nice hotel and very clean rooms; the customer service is above average so I highly recommend it for people in transit.

The rooms were exactly what you'd expect from a holiday inn. Clean, nice, and comfortable. My only complaint was the restaurant in-house was outrageously expensive. I paid $40 for a chicken parm meal and one beer.

Typical Holiday Inn. The room is fine but note that they don’t include a drug or microwave which I usually expect from a Holiday Inn. The one plus is that there is a pull out laptop height table. The bathroom fan comes on whenever you turn on the light and it’s really loud. The food is really expensive and just OK. But there aren’t places nearby to eat and getting somewhere isn’t very easy. If you have breakfast, order off the menu rather than do the buffet. The food is fresher and better. All orders include gratuity so take note.

Pretty cool hotel, I checked put the bar and ordered some appetizers and the food was pretty good. The bar tender somehow knew what I wanted to drink before I ordered and I thought that was awesome. The place is pretty clean and overall the staff was cool.

Exactly what you need when you are staying near the airport. A much better price than the Marriot there and the quality of the rooms for the price is outstanding. The drivers of the shuttles are the nicest folks. One lady was stranded because her hotel wouldn't pick her up. Even though he didn't need to our holiday inn driver took her to that hotel seeing her in distress. He said make sure that you book with us next time. Genius marketing from a shuttle driver who cares about people and the company her works for.

This hotel is next to the freeway so the traffic is noticeably loud at night. The food options at the in-house restaurant are overpriced for the quality. I would avoid eating here. I got the Angus burger, which was dry and flavorless. My room was a double queen. The shower had low water pressure and there also was not a light for the bathtub/shower area itself, which made it a bit dark. Overall, the room was clean and met my expectations.

One night stay following a flight into Newark from the UK. Easy to get to via the airtrain and the free on demand shuttle. Check in was quick and easy with friendly staff. Room was large and comfortable, beds especially so. Great nights sleep with no noise from outside. Good place to stay for the airport.

Do not stay at this hotel. They insist on making a scan copy of your DL or Passport. This is very dangerous from an identity theft perspective. They quote local law that "requires" them to do this and it is bogus. They are allowed to make scans and you are allowed to not check in w/o penalty if you are not comfortable. They seem to have little concern for the security of your documents so I would suggest you go down the road do a different hotel. I am a 20+ year member of IHG Rewards as a Platinum and a Diamond with another brand. I have never had a hotel do this before in the thousands of hotel rooms I have rented. The GM was on site and was a total jerk. He would not even let me sit for 1 min in peace to make a hotel reservation at another hotel.

Close to airport but based on location does take a little while to get to hotel. Onsite restaurant is good and staff is friendly. Rooms are just ok. I have stayed here several times just for convenience to airport. Would not stay here otherwise.

I had to stay at this hotel because my flight was canceled and I had three small children and myself traveling alone. I was very hesitant to stay at a hotel by myself but let me just say that this hotel was one of the cleanest and friendliest that we have stayed in. The restaurant downstairs was so convenient and food was outstanding! After dinner I realized that the children ate free with an adult which made our own unplanned stay even better! Thank you I will recommend this hotel to all of my friends and family in the area.

Clean, but weak in other areas. No free breakfast for guests and prices in hotel restaurant are AWFUL; service there is almost as bad. Ordered a coffee… guy brought me instant coffee and charged, what $5. Another time server stood there and played with his gum between his front teeth while taking my order. At breakfast once… sorry no bagels today?! How hard is it to stock freaking bagels in NJ! No pool. No frig in rooms. Shuttle service to / from airport is friendly, quick, and reliable. 5 stars for clean and comfortable rooms and shuttle service. 2 stars for everything else. 3 overall.

Happy they found a place for my oversize vehicle, but you better be well off to sit in the bar. $40 for a 12 oz strip and $11 for a shot of vodka that runs $19.99 a bottle. The pizza was great the first night but soggy and undercooked the next day when ordered for lunch. The staff is very helpful and polite. The floor might be softer than the bed, hardest mattress I have ever encountered.

This is definitely an airport only kind of hotel and access to the city is difficult to achieve, takes hours and is quite expensive. Housekeeping woke us up every morning between 8:00 am and 9:30 am by either knocking on doors near ours and loudly announcing themselves or chatting noisily from one room to another. The price of the breakfast buffet is nothing short of exploitation and you could easily have an excellent breakfast in the city for the price. The king room was spacious and we'll appointed with a very firm bed and two pillow options. Front desk staff was helpful.

Because this hotel is near the airport and the train station, so I chose to come to this hotel. Hotels in urban areas very far, so each will have 15 minutes to transfer. Room was quiet and comfortable. Also very close to Jersey mills. The girl at the reception were very friendly and helpful. Cream should be increased, the quality shampoo and SOAP. To Newark, then it would come to this hotel again next time.

Newark airport area is possibly one of the most confusing areas around, that being said it was mostly easy to get to and very close to the airport. The rooms were clean, bright and airy… seemingly newly renovated. The on site restaurant was slow and overpriced but the food was really good. The front desk and the shuttle service were friendly and helpful. All in all a very pleasant surprise and I will definitely be going back when in the airport area again.

I would love to give this hotel a 5 star because our room was very clean and the price for that area was great! BUT I really didn't like there was no microwave or fridge in the room. We brought food to the hotel thinking they would have one. We ended up getting a cooler, went to get ice and found out only floor 4&6 have the ice. It was kind of a inconvenience. We brushed it off went to sleep then the ALARM woke us at 4 AM (we didn't set it) lol scared the crap out of me! Upon leaving I held the elevator for a worker named Wanda and when she got off I told her to have a good day and she totally snubbed me and never said a word to me. I get hotel work on a Sunday is CRAZY but as a holiday inn employee myself I would suggest kinder staff. If she was on my floor I wouldn't have tipped her as generously as I did the young lady on 5th floor that was however VERY kind and did a great job. She worked July 4-5th on 5th floor wish I got her name. Other than that it was great!

I thought it was great for the price I payed! I was expecting the worst from a hotel in NJ but actually got a very nice, contemporary room with flat screen TV, computer desk, and a generously large bathroom. Ikea is about a 5 minute drive and if you wait until 9:30am then you can get great breakfast breakfast there for about $3. You also have free parking with 24 manned security at right on the parking lot of the hotel. The only disappointment I had was that it is not very close to NYC especially if you plan to use public transportation. .

I would give this hotel a great rating, the room was clean and comfortable, in fact it made me want to extend my stay. Upon doing so I left the hotel to do some shopping and returned to find all my belongings missing. I brought to managers attention and he basically told me the housekeeping didn't receive the list in time, I extended at 11:00 am checkout is at 12:00 pm. The manager took my name but I can tell no resolve will come, private credit and banking information and not to mention paying seven hundred dollars to have it taken.

Room is nice, but you cant check-in until 2:00PM. I hit therer one day earlier than scheduled, unfortunately all room has been sold out, I asked if I can sit in the lobby for 1 night, but they turned me down. When I Called the front desk from my room ask about if there's free breakfast, she answered NO with a cold tone, when I continue ask about the price and serving time, she sounds like she has been bothered a lot, and I feel like she'saying "hey, stop asking stupid question".

This hotel needs a lot of work. While they hvae done a nice job on the rooms, the service and hospitality gets an F. No matter who I spoke with it felt like I was bothering them. No one offered to help with anything despite the fact I was carrying 3 large suitcases and a baby! The changed their restaurant name to 450 Bistro so you expect that there would be food available. Nope. Just the same stale pastries and fruit loops available in the free hotel breakfast only it will cost you $14.00. Terrible. I made a three day reservation and checked out after 1 night.

Honestly, I have a wonderful experience at this hotel. I looked at these reviews and I came in with some doubts. I came in for a local event at the Medowlands, all of those hotels were all sold out. So I had very little choices. However, when I came in and asked for a few changes, these people treated me with respect and did the best that they can do to please me. My room was very clean. Then the next morning I looked over the menu because some reviews talked about how expensive the restaurant was. Well I don't know guys, maybe it's because I'm from long Island but it wasn't really that much more than a Dinner. I stayed for 4 days and I had a wonderful stay. No it's not a 5 star hotel, but it was well worth what I payed and then some. Yes, I would recommend staying at this hotel. One major point I would like to make, you do need a car because this place is in the middle of nowhere.

Very clean, excellent rooms, including breakfast, opposite the airport, excellent choice for those who want to go to New York. This hotel is 15 minutes by car from the Big Apple, which can leave near the chinatown in safe parking and for only $20 for 12 hours.

Watch your bill in the diningroom. They either charged me ala carte prices or added on a tip for a single diner in the dining room. Either way not a good business practice.
