Review of NYLO Providence Warwick Hotel, Tapestry Collection 3*

NYLO has the potential of a good, chic hotel, especially for the area. We booked specifically because it seemed like a boutique option in an area that doesn't have great options. Having said that, our stay fell short. Seems like lots of small issues. When we checked in (around 9 PM), we asked if there was a small fridge in room. The manager mentioned he could have one sent up – which was great. We got to the room and waited. No fridge came. Had to call the desk and ask if it was coming that night – didn't want to unwind and get an unexpected knock late at night. Very much appreciated the fridge but in the short time from the check in to the room the manager apparently forgot about it. No huge deal, but not a particularly busy night. The AC unit in our room awakened me very early in the morning with a loud clicking and clanging noise. We reported it to the front desk and were told an engineer would address it. When we returned later that evening, the unit was louder than ever. We called the desk AGAIN, and it seems the original engineer had left without placing the cover back on. Huh? How does that happen? Finally, it was fixed but after two calls. Not ideal. The shower was not completely clean – the grout and tile area near the floor appeared a bit scummy. Gross. Despite having a "service" sign on the door, housekeeping did not service. Again, no huge deal, but we did have to ask for fresh towels. We went down the the bar for an after dinner dessert and coffee. The bartender was not very friendly. In fact, he cleared the cream and sugar before we were even done with our coffee. It was very odd and had to ask for it again; we were not finished – not good service to clear condiments before a table is done. Overall, I would consider staying here again – beds are comfy and the outdoor deck is a pretty great space – but the service really needs to step up. For a $200/night+ hotel, I expect more. Will consider other options before booking again.
