Great location. Clean rooms.

Unique setting and friendly staff. The restaurant attached (Union) is amazing. And easy walk to Old Port restaurants and shops.

Attention to every detail. Wonderful stay. Fabulous food!

This hotel is gorgeous! The cafe and restaurant are the shining jewels of the property! The chef is one of the nicest people you can find!

Everything was clean and I enjoyed our stay. One of the best that we have been to. Customer service was friendly and we had a smooth check in.

Great central location and very nice accomodations. Very nice staff. It's not the most amazing hotel I have ever stayed at though, and it's a shame that for the price, parking is not included. Food at their restaurant was VERY good!

Far and away, The Press Hotel is the best place I've ever stayed overnight. The accommodations are impeccable. The service is out of this world. I'm so impressed by the depth of theming and the commitment to making every guest feel special. This place is one of a kind, and truly beyond words.

The staff were mostly great, and the building and rooms were nice, but but we had an issue with getting a clean set of sheets, and it took multiple attempts to do so. However, I the staff that we dealt with in trying to solve the problem were very accommodating, and amd worked to correct the issue and make it up to us. We haven't had issues the other times we'd stayed there, so for now I'm chalking it up as an off night and would be willing to give them another shot.

The entire staff from start to finish was amazing. Very friendly and helpful with finding things around town. The room exceeded expectations with views of downtown or surrounding historical buildings.

The Union. The bartender was incredibly nice. Thats where the 3 stars come from. The hostess wouldn't seat us because we didn't have a reservation. The bar seating had no people as well as 12 open tables. We sat at the bar for 30 minutes and finished. When we walked out, there were 14 open tables. Her attitude was unprofessional at best. Skip the restaurant.

My husband and I visited this hotel for our honeymoon! The guest services and employees were amazing! The beds were super comfortable! Unlike some hotels they're hard as a rock! We ate breakfast at the union there in hotel ad it was amazing!

What a unique and beautiful hotel. With its location close to Merrill Auditorium as well as the old poor, it lends itself too many people looking to have a great weekend or business trip. The interior is amazing. The rooms are extremely well appointed, the bathrooms are Beyond awesome. They offer valet parking, and shuttle service.

What a great hotel! Location is near everything in downtown Portland. The staff was super nice, and the room was large and clean. The decor in this hotel is really cute and makes for a hip, but still warm feeling. The bed was very comfortable for two people.

Great location in Old Port District and terrific mix of unique boutique hotel plus all that you'd expect from a Marriott. Good restaurant and gym as well. Highly recommend.

Absolutely beautiful! High quality rooms, very stylish and modern, yet still cozy and comfortable. Love the unique, literary decor, a purposeful yet pleasantly subtle look, consistent throughout. Quite classy and upscale but just casual enough not to feel out of place in everyday attire. And GREAT off season prices, even for a luxury king room! A fantastic holiday treat that (at the price of $150 per night) barely feels like a splurge! I definitely recommend, and this is coming from a Portland area local!

Stunning hotel with plenty of History. I have stayed here once in the summer of 2016, the front desk staff were attentive, but the some of the bellmen were uninterested, and throwing things around. I am assuming this was to occupy time but I did not appreciate being hit by said item. Automatic turn down service was very much appreciated, with a bottle of water, and little chocolates on the bed. Second visit I was staying at another hotel, but came by with some of my fellow colleagues for a tour of the hotel, an amazing service to say the least. I will be back again!

The interior is uniquely stylish and the showers are amazing. Rest at the restaurant if you get the chance. I went for Thanksgiving dinner, and it was better than a home cooked meal.

The Press Hotel is beautiful. The king sized bed is the comfiest most luxurious bed. The shower is exquisite. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. It's a short walk from all of the nightlife in Portland and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to indulge and splurge on a romantic evening or two.

Convenient downtown location. Sleek design with fun theme of press clippings and typewriters throughout the hotel. Attentive service — we got a great restaurant recommendation and appreciated the friendly coffee bar service.

A beautiful hotel with character and style like something rarely seen nowadays. The homage to the newspaper company which once had the building is a gorgeous touch and really sets the tone for all the decor and character. Helpful staff, good food, amenities and prime location. All around excellent hotel.

I have never in the past been a fan of boutique hotels… always thought they were a little too pretentious for my taste. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the Press Hotel, which was honestly an accidental find. Firstly the hotel itself had only been completed one year prior, which meant there was a newness to everything. But more than that it was incredibly classy, from the modern and chic furnishings in the room (which included a very comfortable bed and loaded bathroom), the fully stocked and well-designed fitness center, the contemporary restaurant downstairs (though a bit pricy for what you got), the courteous and attentive staff, and the excellent décor that was an honorarium to the building's former life as the city newspaper complex combined for a wonderful experience. Set in the heart of downtown Portland, the hotel is walking distance from a newly revitalized City center, with great food and shopping within walking distance. We will definitely be staying here again as we make our way back across the country.

This hotel is pretty nice, it has a unique style and design. Front desk had great customer service. They even provide a shuttle service. The room was very clean and comfy.

My wide and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary and we loved it. When we first arrived our room wasn't ready by 3PM so we were offered complimentary drinks at the attached bar/restaurant. The bartender was very nice and had a great selection of wines and local beers. The restaurant looked very nice as well and we would consider eating there on our next trip to Portland. The room was ready just a few minutes after we sat at the bar and our luggage was brought to the room. The upper floor "Deluxe King" corner room had a nice view of the city and was very clean and spacious. Plugs above the bed allowed for easy phone charging at night. Bed was comfortable with many pillows. Bathroom was clean and beautifully tiled with high quality rain shower and sink faucets. Checkout was 12PM, which was nice because we didn't feel rushed in the morning like most hotels that have an 11AM checkout. We checked our bags and walked the city for the rest of the day. Upon return we were offered a free shuttle ride to the train station. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing, welcoming stay in downtown Portland.

My husband and I just had an amazing stay at The Press. Housekeeping went above and beyond for me. My spring allergies were really bad during our stay and they kept our room stocked with extra kleenex and water. The front desk Ben especially was warm and friendly when we arrived. He was quick to find us silverware for a desert we brought back from a restaurant. Valet was prompt and polite when we needed our car. The room was always clean. Loved it and will recommend to everyone!

Everything is modern. The staff is extremely courteous. The perks are also amazing. They have made me feel valued and happy to have chosen the press hotel.

I love staying here. There is a super cool, modern, and somehow even sultry vibe. Even the other guests are hip and cool. The king room has one of the most beautiful bathrooms I've ever seen. The restaurant food is delicious. I can't wait to go back.

I had dinner at Union which is the restaurant in the Press Hotel. I had a really delicious duck with lentils and pear. Everyone at our table was very happy with the food. The meat dishes feel off the bone. The staff was very helpful and made recommendations on what to eat, how to cook it and what wine to pair it with. The brussel sprout appetizer was probably the best thing I've ever had, with the exception of desert. Get desert and don't share. This was too good to miss a bite.

A great boutique hotel in the Old Port part of town. Right in the thick of it all and within walking distance to so many shops and restaurants. I have my guests stay here whenever they are in town and have been very pleased with the service and prices.

Amazing hotel with exceptional service from start to finish. I never opened a door for myself. The room was a delightful mix of modern amenities and historic artifacts. Towels were plump and crisp, soaps and lotions good sized and aromatic. Bed was firm and I slept well. The hotel shuttle will take you aost anywhere. Great folks. A bargain.

In any other city, this hotel would be $500 a night. Rooms come with bathrobes, first-class service from everyone who works there. Location is great — within walking distance of everything. The hotel also has a free shuttle service for its guests.

Impeccably clean room, exceptional guest service, loved the restaurant. The valet/shuttle dropped me off at work every day! Every detail of the rooms, lobby, wall coverings was carefully selected. It created for such a wonderful experience. I even had a chance to work out in the fitness center. I can't wait to come back!

Perfect location, everything is within walking distance. Can get noisy in the evening on weekends, but it is suprisingly quiet during the night. Rooms are modern and cosy. Staff is really nice and helpful. The Restaurant and the Bar are ok, but the City has way better places to offen within only a couple minutes of walk. Perfect hotel for a weekend away. Would stay here again.

The hotel is in a great location. Valet your car and leave it. Everything is within walking distance. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. We were pointed to the best restaurants and specific food locations (lobster rolls) and entertainment in the area. We were never disappointed with the suggestions made. The room was spacious, clean and quiet even though we were beside the elevator. The cleaning staff double teamed the rooms being quick and thorough. The area within 1/4 mile of the hotel has everything imaginable that you could be looking for. Great restaurants, bars, clothing, gifts, tours… Our first time here… We would return to this hotel when in the area again.

Love the fitness center, rooms and service were fantastic. The location is central to all the best shops and restaurants in Portland. The typewriters in the lobby were a great touch.

A bunch of type writers doesn't make for a classy establishment. The staff definitely need hospitality lessons. Especially when you ask a bartender what their special is or what their favorite cocktail is and they reply with "the menu is right in front of you. " This place should never serve as any sort of example for Maine cuisine or hospitality. Do yourself a favor a pick a place that is more real than the typewriters on the walls.

A renovated Newspaper building, the rooms are small, but very well done, the baths are large and very well appointed. I would not say this is a luxurious resort, but the rooms are comfortable, and the common spaces are nice. It is Maine, so don't stay in your room, get out and explore.

We absolutely loved this hotel. It was a fantastic experience. The hotel has a great decor, the rooms are very clean and comfortable, the staff is extremely attentive. Our dining experience (dinner & breakfast) was absolutely excellent from food and wine to staff's experience and knowledge.

I love this hotel. We've stayed there twice and have had an exceptional experience both times. Both times we stayed with our daughter who was an infant the first trip and a toddler the second trip — the hotel and staff were extremely accommodating. The location is perfect, the beds are perfect, the showers and bath amenities are perfect, the staff is perfect… It's a great hotel. We look forward to staying there for on every trip to Portland.

Gorgeous new hotel and real cool theme. I loved all the press-themed details from typewriters on the wall, to letters printed on the rug. The room was comfortable and really nice, especially the bathroom. Such a good shower! The location was fantastic right in Old Port. Loved the bar area by the fire and the fitness center was great. Again the attention to detail was impeccable with available hair elastics, disposable headphones, granola, water, towels, etc. Overall a wonderful weekend experience!

The best hotel and the best food I have had in USA! I am from Spain and I am living in Miami. My husband and I we travel a lot but so far it is the best experience I have have with food and service! Very creative and delicate and taste food! Very refine! Quality and price equal, and the hotel team are just amazing.

The hotel was beautifully appointed and very conveniently located. I loved the typewriter wall! Comfy beds, impeccable service. The only negative was that my shower leaked through the glass onto the bathroom floor.

Definitely one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. It's in a VERY convenient location that is pretty much central to most anything you'd want to do in that area. The exterior is beautiful, but it's the "something like you've never seen before" interior and rooms that make this place above most any other place I've stayed. The place is immaculate and clean. Everything its in perfect shape and the theme of the hotel is not only extremely well thought out to every single extent, but it's executed perfectly. From real typewriters on the wall, to interior fixtures, to elegant and perfectly setup rooms, the hotel is perfect and worth every cent. The staff is easily one of the best hotel staffs I've ever come in contact with. They actually seem to care about you. They don't make it seem like it's their job, they make it seem like they are genuinely concerned for your well being and that you are having a GREAT time both in and out of their hotel. I can't think of even one thing that I would complain about. We stayed there 3 days and every second of it was phenomenal. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and I hope you'll enjoy your stay as much as we did.

A delightful new restaurant with great atmosphere. The service was outstanding. Food was overall good but sometimes a grilled salmon should be just a grilled salmon.

We went overnight for our mini honeymoon. It was a private, perfect, and romantic stay in the suite. We were greeted professionally and with smiling faces. Our room came with a sweet note from the staff, congratulating us on our nuptials, and a plate of assorted goodies. I would love to stay again!

From the moment we pulled up to the Press Hotel we were treated like VIPs. The staff was highly attentive! The hotel itself was like a work of art — lots of beautiful areas and art installations. We look forward to returning soon!

Amazing renovation of the old Press Herald building. Top notch experience. The staff are really fantastic and go the extra mile. Standard rooms a little on small size but larger ones are available if you pay the extra. Union restaurant, part of hotel, also recommended.

Pros: Quaint hotel with friendly staff, a decent restaurant, fun decor and a top-notch location next to shops, restaurants and galleries, and a comfortable bed. Cons: very small Manhattan-style rooms, street noise reverberation makes it feel like you have ambulance sirens in your room sometimes, valet parking is a bit spotty. On balance, a decent option.

The Press Hotel is the nicest hotel we have ever stayed at. Absolutely beautiful. Modern. Very clean. Great staff. Will stay there again when we go to back to visit Maine. Would recommend it to everyone.

We had a mixed experience in early August, spoiled when one of my favorite polo shirts was stained by chlorine left on the restroom counter by the cleaning staff. Several other execution missteps made it a less than a great stay. The rooms are small. The bathroom had an opague glass door so there was no privacy. The green tea in the lobby was $4.27 a cup, more expensive than what I would pay at a Starbucks in Manhattan. The restaurant was excellent, but the staff was new and disorganized. The conversion of the old newspaper building into a hotel was spectacular. The use of the old stainless steel conveyor belt which carried the newspapers as decorative walls in the elevators was a nice touch. There were many nice touches. But the hotel could have used another elevator. The staff was friendly and helpful. The valet let me park in front of the building on Exchange Street while my wife and I had breakfast. I was grateful for that. But I think I'll go back to staying at the Regency on my next trip back to Portland.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel has a very unique and original look to it with a 1920s printing press motif. It also had probably the best freebies of any hotel that I've seen.

Fantastic property that brings together the old with the new. Staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. Fantastic bar in the lobby called Inkwell — make sure you see Keegan for a cocktail. All of the creature comforts you could ask for done in a clean modern way.

We had an awesome stay here. The accommodations are lovely, bathroom spacious, beds very comfortable. The staff could not have been more helpful Everyone went out of their way to make our stay so enjoyable. Kudos to the valets — polite and knowledgeable about the area. All and all a great place to stay. Breakfast at the Union restaurant was delicious.
