Nice, clean heart of portland.

Just what you expect. One the reason I like to stay at Hampton Inn because it’s very consistent good service nice rooms and breakfast included.

First of all, this hotel is not waterfront. Next, they will overcharge you for a room and then ask for another $20 for parking AND want to keep your keys. They will harass you to no end. I'll never stay at another Hampton Inn after dealing with these people.

We had a lovely stay, but when we retrieved our car from valet parking we noticed a small dent in one of the doors. I reported this to the assistant manager on duty and later to the manager. Both assured me they would see that the matter was taken care of. I am happy to report that the car was repaired and a third party insurance company used by this Hampton Inn paid for the cost, plus several days of a rental car. We were very satisfied by how they handled the situation.

There is NO crockery, glassware or cutlery in the entire hotel. Only throwaway.

Great time this past weekend. Clean and the staff could not have been more accommodating! Kayla is awesome as is the valet and front desk staff. Breakfast fresh and delish, coffee nice and hot. Only negative: furniture/soft seating in lobby was definitely showing it’s wear, couches and arm chairs had rips and stains. Other than that great place! Kids loved the pool!

Excellent experience in literally all regards. EVERYONE was so friendly including the guests it was almost astounding but then again that's Maine. AWESOME location made going to and from a literal breeze just the best location. Extremely clean. Wonderful selection of amenities. I was also a really big fan of the pool area and the fact they offer washer and dryer for guest use. Really a solid choice if you're in town and looking for an upscale functional place to stay that won't blow the budget it's a must. Also I think it is perfectly situated in relation to the water and noise from down town. If you stay here check out the Honey Paw restaurant behind it. One of a kind. Overall I give this place a 5 star review without a bit of hesitation.

Comfortable, well built hotel in the heart of Portland. Facilities in good repair. Nice pool area. Solid breakfast. Rooms are spacious and clean. Very friendly, helpful staff. Good value. Highly recommended.

This place will redefine your definition of Donuts. Made from quality ingredients, it tastes absolutely amazing. They have a huge selection of different flavors so you will surely find something. These are actually quite heavy bites, so you don't need a lot to fill up, I personally could hardly handle two of them, my wife had problems even with one…

Nice hotel. Very clean with a very friendly staff through and through. Location is perfect for the waterfront and downtown area as everything from dining to shopping is within walking distance. A bit pricey but it's the high season so what are you gonna do. Breakfast was kinda meh. We would stay here again the next time we're in Portland.

I like Hampton inn, I really do. I've stayed at dozens across the u. S. And I tend to trust the brand. My recent stay in two new New England locations, however, have lowered my perceptions. The Portland, ME location is clean and the location is great for downtown activities. The staff are friendly and the rooms are okay. Breakfast, on the other hand, is a failure. Considering the exaggerated rates for a room here, I take the free breakfast seriously; it's one of the reasons I choose Hampton Inn. It's not really free, so I have some expectations. This hotel failed to meet them at all levels. The food itself would have been adequate, had it been provided in adequate amounts, on time, and hot. In four days of stay here, it never was. Even worse, something was always missing, broken, incomplete, or the wrong temperature. I understand that the hotel is full, but that doesn't excuse you from providing breakfast. Clearly, the hotel staff did not take breakfast as seriously as the patrons did. People were not happy and, despite receiving mine and many others numerous complaints, nothing changed. That is unacceptable. I enjoyed Portland, but I'll probably be passing on Hampton Inn Portland the next time I come here. Breakfast is important.

Great hotel. Staff including valet extremely helpful. Breakfast was per usual at Hampton Inn. I am not sure if the hotel is newer or if it has just been updated but it is very nice. A short walk to downtown. We had a very early check-out (4 AM) for a flight. They had a bagged breakfast and our car was waiting. A good central location if you want to shop, eat or take a walk down to the beach.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Hampton. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was terrific!

Wonderful place with huge rooms. Close to lots of shopping and the wharf by walking. Make sure to ask for Molly at the front desk or for Jim at the valet station if you need to go somewhere outside of walking distance.

Breakfast only ok (limited enough), had a waffle machine though — big highlight/novelty!

The rooms were clean and the place was well kept. The fitness room was small but was efficient. Only issue that I felt is here is that I could hear everything going on in the hallway. A door close people talking. Nothing that was at a disturbing time but I could see it being an issue if it was late at night.

One of my favorites in the entire nation as a person who travels 50-75% for her job. This hotel pays attention to their guests, takes care of issues swiftly, makes amazing recommendations, and really has awesome staff. I’ve stayed here on multiple occasions and really appreciate how Ali goes the extra mile to take care of guests, and really gets to know them on a personal level. It helps him find personal ways to make their day. Molly at the front desk is kind, professional, and very helpful for all the associates for my company that get sent here. Highly recommend!

Very impressed with this Hampton! All the staff was great! Clean and modern rooms! Walking distance to all the places I wanted to go. I can't wait to return!

While the room was relatively clean (dusty on shelves and blinds) and comfortable, we were here for 3 nights with our kids and there were not knives in the breakfast room to cut their food. When I asked for a knife to use so my kids could eat, I was told I couldn't have one. The other utensils available were flimsy plastic forks, so no cutting with those. How hard would it have been to have someone run to the store to get some plastic knives until the shipment came in? There were also no lids for the coffee cups. We had only once Kleenex in the box upon entering our room. There was no do not disturb sign in our room. The woman that checked us in at 8 pm was not friendly. When we asked about the area attractions we were told where to go from someone who had never been there and could offer no other recommendations. The pool towels were no bigger than dish towels. I've never stayed at a hotel where the management had such an incredible lack of attention to detail and customer service. I'm overall very disappointed that we spent so much to get so little.

Have stayed here multiple times, the staff is accommodating, approachable, and incredibly freindy. The rooms are beautiful as well. The location is excellent, it has beautiful views and is close to the downtown of the city.

Been here twice. The location is hard to beat, the price is good and rooms are better than you would expect. Depending on which way your room is facing, you can see the cruse ships at port ant that is just darn cool. Book a stay here and don't worry it will be good fun.

Great location and super friendly staff. There was no mention of Valet parking when we made our reservation so be prepared to pay the $20 or find on street parking which comes with ots own set of challenges. Rooms were clean but the place if starting to look a little worn. Bathroom faucet face plate was loose etc.

Great location and the rooms are clean. The free breakfast is ok, but it is free! Valet parking cost $20 per day but the attendants are very good.

CONS: Over the phone when reserving we gave a card and specifically said not to charge it we were paying cash. When checking in and trying to pay cash they said we will pay at checkout they needed the card a second time but assured us it wouldn't be charged. We were woken with a phone call at 8am saying the card wouldn't go through. We didn't get to bed until 4am and picked this room for the noon checkout so we could sleep in. My husband had to get up and get dressed and go down and pay then and there. He couldn't get back to sleep. It was extremely frustrating since we told them many many times we wanted to pay cash. Additionally we had two rooms — one reserved a week in advance for $199 and one reserved the morning of for $189. $199 was for 4 adults and 2 kids the other was for just one adult. When we checked out eachothers' rooms the one with one person was twice the size between the foot of the bed and the wall with the TV. We switched because it made much more sense to have all the adults and kids in the bigger room (which cost less! ). I wish the staff would have done that themselves rather than making us realize it and switch after starting to get settled. PROS: clean and comfortable. Noon checkout. Pool open until 11pm. Even though we didn't expect to have to use the valet parking they were quick to get the car each time we needed it.

Nice hotel with heated pool and small exercise room. Service was great, everyone at front desk was attentive and knowledgeable about the area when asked. Very pleased with both service and accommodations.

The suite I stayed in was clean and beautiful, nice view overlooking the harbour. Staff was friendly and helpful. They did charge $20 for parking and their lot was nearly empty, so that was a bit lame. Overall great experience though.

It’s a Hampton Inn so the breakfast and rooms leave a little to be desired. That being said the rooms, beds, TV and internet are good. It’s a great location to restaurants and bars. There is a brew pub in the building and the staff is friendly and helpful. The workout facilities are better than most Hampton inns, but still a little small. 4 treadmills, 2 elliptical, 1 recumbent bike and dumbbells.

I loved everything about it! Knowing there was going to be a blizzard on 1/4/18, James Dean put us in a corner room on the 4th floor so we would have a spectacular view and we did! Clean, spacious, and comfortable… the staff were all very friendly and helpful. This was our 3rd stop and definitely the highlight as far as accommodations.

Was a nice fit for visiting family for the holidays. Excellent service and the beds rock.

The location is convenient and not a far jaunt from all bars/entertainment. The rooms are good sized and pretty much standard for the price point in this area. The room was absolutely spotless. Valet parking is really reasonable — 20/day which is less than what you'd be paying to park anywhere on the streets or in a garage. Parking tickets are $10 per violation in Portland, so it's not like you'll be gouged by parking on the street either way.

Room wasn't water veiw but was amazing! Clean, comfortable, and homey. Less then 10 minute walk from 20 plus different restaurants and bars! Breakfast looked good and fresh baked white chocolate chip cookies right when we walked in… Yum.

Location was perfect for walking around town to get to different vendors. Hampton Inn was clean and plenty of space in the hotel room. Service was great overall.

I was charged 140, 000 Hhonors points and DID NOT STAY at this hotel. I have called multiple times to get my points back, having been a Gold member for multiple years now, and no one could help me. I guess all of the "Thank you for being a Gold member" nonsense when you walk in is all you really get for spending thousands of dollars per year with the chain. Disappointing.

Love staying here. Amazing staff, clean rooms. Great location, awesome breakfast for a hotel. I stay here about four times a year and highly recommend it!

Nick at the front desk of this conviently located Hampton Inn was super helpful to us first time guests to the area. Clean, great restaurant in the building with excellent food and beer. Great stay!

The valet was very nice. I was parking a car for my friend and there was some confusion on the name but the valet took care of us with no hastle. The room we stayed in was very comfortable as well.

The Hampton inn was delightful the pool was open till late at night no hot tub but, other awesome things include amazing breakfast, very understanding and amazing staff especially at the front desk. I needed pillows to sleep and almost at 11:30 they gladly brought me pillows to my door. Overall 9/10

Stayed at the Hampton Inn for two nights. The rooms were clean, had all of the amenities that I needed, breakfast every morning, with valet parking. The hotel is also walking distance to a number of restaurants and bars making getting around a lot easier.

We see staying here at the moment from the UK and think it's great. Ben on reception has gone above and beyond with helping us. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

The staff made our stay! From the moment we arrived the warm welcome was conveyd fully! We very much felt like guests at this hotel. The customer service will make the difference in our decision to stay again on our return. The room is impeccably clean, breakfast delicious and fresh (the bananas a little brown but better that way in oatmeal) The pillows are comfy and we found the room to be in great condition. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

I love this hotel, we travel a lot and by far this hotel treats us way above the rest, The sales director Kayla has always gone out of her way to make sure everything is prefect for the team and our stay. The staff is incredible, very friendly and nice. Meet every request and always making sure we are good. The man in charge of maintenance is so much fun to talk to and he is on top of everything.
The breakfeast is very good. The rooms are roomy and clean. Kids had so much fun at the pool. The restaurant next to the hotel which is connected is awesome.
we did have a few problems and they where quickly addressed and I was contacted when I got home to make sure I was good and the team was happy with their stay

The location was great. Just a block off of Commerce St and the Old Port area. The room was nice, clean, very comfy bed. The only downside was that our room overlooked the generators and so wasn't very appealing. The staff was very friendly and the free breakfast was pretty good too!

Exceptional Staff! They were more then willing to assist in anyway possible. I have stayed at many Hilton properties & Hampton Inn's before and this stay was in the top 2 best stays I've had. Personally the staff make or break a stay in my mind and they hit the mark! The property was well maintained, clean and had a perfect location in the Old Port. Plenty of great places to eat, drink and visit within walking distance. I will stay again on my next trip to Portland! Also, Sebego Brewing on the ground floor is a great place to dine or have a few drinks/beers with friends. Friendly staff and reasonable pricing!

Great location. Went to Eventide Oysters and Duckfat Restaurant next door for amazing meals. Staff were very friendly. Rooms were comfortable. Only thing is their king bed seemed smaller than an actual king.

We stayed at the Portland ME Downtown Hampton Inn as a group booking 7 rooms for a weekend away with the guys. The hotel's location, walking distance to all the night life, was perfect completed with a brew pub on the property. The staff did a great job both in helping us plan the event and executing. Valet parking is the only option which is the standard for downtown Portland, and the valet guys were great even providing a lift in the shuttle van to the local baseball game. The breakfast isn't anything special but was convenient for our big group.

Reliable free Wi-Fi, great water pressure, great free breakfast, beds have clean sheets and bed covers. Fitted sheet on the bottom stays reliably on the mattress. Friendly and helpful staff.

Very clean. Hotel is located within walking distance of many shops, restaurants, and brew pubs. One of the employees recognized us from our stay last year. All of the employees are very friendly and helpful. Complimentary coffee and breakfast is a plus also. Would definitely come back.

Our second stay. Excellent in every way. Best location to downtown, a very good staff and nice rooms. Easy on off to turnpike.

The rooms are modern and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast is decent, they served scrambled eggs one day and french toast the next. The staff is pretty friendly and helpful. They have a shuttle service that took us to the airport. The place is pretty well located, close to restaurants, shops, and the casco bay ferry terminal. I really don't have any complaints.

This was a fantastic location to park and then enjoy Portland on foot. The price was reasonable and it was just what you'd expect for a Hampton Inn. It was clean, busy with guests, and the staff were courteous. Knowing Portland, I wanted to be near Commercial St/Fore St/ in the old port. It was great to be able to walk everywhere from there. The parking rate seems high for that area, but we didn't feel like moving it a bunch of times at meters or garages.

Me and my family have spent the last 3 days here, we have enjoyed our stay very much the staff was wonderful and the room and hotel was very clean hotel also the valet parking was very convenient for us and highly recommend it. The hotel is right in the middle of all the activities on the waterfront in Portland.
