We spent a most enjoyable week in late August, 2018 at the Mount Battie in Lincolnville, Maine. Starting each day with a delicious breakfast including homemade baked goods, we visited many sites along the beautiful Penobscot Bay which had been suggested by the staff at the motel. The owners were friendly and helpful in making our visit memorable. From assistance in locating a dentist to allowing us to use their personal grill, they were consummate hosts. The room was nice and the grounds are very pretty. It was a great place to return to each evening and just relax!

Christine and Ed are a wonderful couple who go out of their way to ensure your stay and vacation exceeds your expectations! We enjoyed our stay at the Inn! Thank you, Christine and Ed, for your most gracious hospitality! God Bless!

Spotless well maintained motel. Reasonably priced and the owners are just wonderful! Excellent free breakfast, very accommodating as I have dietary restrictions. Had a wonderful 4 night stay and will definitely return!

Great people, sweet motel in a wonderful location! We had a great time and a wonderful room. Owners are very sweet and helpful. They tell you all kinds of exciting things to do in the area. We stayed an extra day just to tour the area and glad we did. Thanks again for your excellent hospitality!

My husband and I stayed at this motel for a weekend. It’s okay, but I wouldn’t stay there again, mainly because the price (it’s fairly expensive) doesn’t match up with the quality. I would expect a place like that to charge a lot less. Our room was musty, and the noise from the very nearby street was a bit annoying at night. We also felt a little sick during the nights from what we assumed was mold. There were only two pillows on the bed, and when we grabbed two more out of the closet, bugs flew off of them! Needless to say, those stayed in the closet and we only had two pillows for the weekend. As an introvert, I didn’t appreciate the host getting in my face at breakfast every day. Some people probably appreciate the extreme gregariousness. If you get a screaming deal somehow, stay there. Otherwise find somewhere else!

I enjoyed the owners, the breakfast, the kindness, and the warmth of the place. This is in addition to the beautiful and comfortable room. It is a definite stop on your trip to Maine. You won't be sorry…

We are very pleased with our selection of the deluxe family suite at the Mount Battie Inn. This facility is very charming and clean and Ed and Christine are the perfect hosts. They are both very friendly and helpful in making our daily plans. Thank you, Ed and Christine.

Very comfortable beds, elevated the back pain that other beds in my travels caused. The owners are very helpful with knowledge of the local area.

Took our daughters and their families from Michigan to Maine in June (9 of us! ) and spent 3 great nights (in 3 great rooms) at Mount Battie. Ed and Christine are both friendly and helpful with suggestions of places to visit, places to eat, drive times, etc. They are more than willing to make reservations for boat tours, whale watches or anything you may want to do. Christine's breakfast breads and muffins are fabulous and she even made sure to have gluten-free for one member who has celiacs (we mentioned this when we made reservations) and that was really good, too. It is not a full breakfast but we certainly came away full. Today I made reservations to take friends there in two weeks.

The good reviews are written by the owners, who are always conveniently mentioned by name (pardon me if I don't go there). The New Yorkers who own this place and who are supposed to be the consummate hosts, are in-your-face obnoxious with constant sales pitches about where to eat, what to see, etc. And always don't forget to mention that you are staying at the Mount Battie because they will 'take care of you'. We wanted to know where the closest grocery store was so we could get some necessities and beer and were referred to the most expensive wine and chi-chi store in Camden (but don't forget to mention that you're staying at the Mount Battie because they will 'take care of you'). And such a shame that the most expensive restaurant in the area was closed the day we were there but if we wanted to stay another night, don't forget to mention that you are staying at the Mount Battie because they will 'take care of you'. There is nothing quiet about this motel, from the owners to the location, which is right on the road. There are lots of rules about how to dispose of trash, recycling, etc. And it is very spendy. The accommodations are basic and don't forget to bring your own soap, shampoo, and conditioner because what you will get here won't take care of anyone with hair longer than a couple of inches, let alone 2 people. The 'make up remover cloth' is simply a brown washcloth that they wish you to use so you don't dirty a white one.

Super location super hosts.

I recently stayed here with my family. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay; I only wish I could have stayed longer. The rooms are very clean and when I asked about the wonderful smell, they mentioned that they only use environmental oils; no harsh chemicals. The baked goods for breakfast were delicious and all made in house! Don’t miss the coffee cake! We had a great time, can’t wait to return with more time to relax in their hammock!

My husband and I were just at the Mt. Battie Motel during our recent trip to the Maine coast. The Mt. Battie Motel is such a find! The hosts are so friendly, the rooms are beautiful and very well-kept, and the view of Penobscot Bay from our bedroom window was breathtaking! I would very highly recommend staying at the Mt. Battie Motel if you're traveling from Bar Habor to Boothbay Harbor — it makes for a wonderful, relaxing and picturesque stop on the way, and you just might find that you've made two new friends in Christine and Ed!
