Reviews of French Market Inn 3*
Great staff, awesome rooms.
This is a beautiful hotel close to the quarter with lovely architecture and reasonably priced. I highly recommend it!
They do need microwaves and mini fridges in the rooms but I guess it wouldn’t fit in with the historic ambiance of the rooms. Close enough to be within a 10 minute walk to anything in the quarter or over on Canal. Highly recommend.
Wonderful atmosphere and excellent service. Ideal location. Reasonable rates. I’ll definitely return.
Had the best time. Staff were wonderful. Beautiful hotel. Great location. Will plan on staying at the French Market Inn anytime I visit New Orleans!
The management of this hotel is just awful, inconsiderate, and lacks empathy. We made a reservation and paid in full. 24 hours before our check in, we tested positive for Covid. Our airline was very understanding, since The government clearly prohibits traveling while positive. We got our money refunded immediately by the airline. This hotel, on the other hand, refused to refund us and insisted that it was our choice not to check in. Even though we have documentation showing our results and the day the test was taken. Basically they were ok having people check in with Covid, they went against government and cdc rules, and mostly likely sold our room to another traveler. We will be making this, public. You were given plenty of opportunity, to solve it privately.
Stunning Place. Right in the middel of all the action.
It is right in the center of everything. We could walk to where ever we wanted to go. Staff was very nice and helpful. Large rooms.
My FAVORITE place to stay in New Orleans Highly recommend 😃
We recently stayed at French Market Inn and it was perfection. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the location makes everything so convenient. Would absolutely recommend staying here to anybody visiting NOLA.
Unfortunately this will be the last time I ever stay here.
I have stayed at this particular hotel in the past but this time will be the last.
The room I booked did not look anything like what the photos showed on the website.
Immediately after check in, and after seeing my room I mentioned to the front clerk my concerns. I was immediately dismissed as if she could care less.
The room I received was dark, extremely small, dingy, dirty and run down.
Next time I am in town, I will spend my hard earned money elsewhere. Thus the reason I do not recommend this hotel.
I feel in love with this place!
Right in the middle of where I needed to be and so peaceful in the courtyard.
Home away from home! ❤️ Great staff and great location!
Absolutely love French Market Inn. When I was there April 2019, I had a nasty fall on Decatur Street. The staff were wonderful. They not only took care of me, they treated me like
family.
A wonderful hotel.
… this was a great place to stay, … easy walking distance to Jackson Square &
Cafe du Monte.
we will return!
Amazing staff that treats you like family and excellent location!
I’ve stayed here twice now and loved it both times. Very reasonable prices and lovely staff always willing to help. Really convenient walking distance to shops and bars etc.
We stay here every time we come to New Orleans. The staff is great, love the rooms, having a PJ’s Coffee as part of the building is an added plus.
Authentic French style hotel located on edge of Quarter, clean, ideally located for access to all areas/transport and lovely staff — would highly recommend.
Staff is super sweet and helpful! Our ship got delayed and they let us keep our luggage at the hotel while we explored the city! Max and Nancy were super! I will definitely come here again! Love how historic and cozy this hotel is and what an awesome location, right in the middle of the French Quarter! :)
Love this place. All of the staff were very very friendly. We love Nancy and max! beautiful courtyard with a laid back atmosphere. Our room overlooked the river. I will stay again.
We stayed the weekend of New Years. The staff was the greatest. They parked our car, brought up our luggage, answered all of our questions. Anything we needed they were right on it. We will stay here from now on.
Great hotel Love the atmosphere.
Beautiful old hotel with updated amenities, beautiful courtyard and the staff was wonderful. Can't wait to go back again.
Everyone was very friendly. We arrived early and our room was not ready, so they held our bags while went to lunch. They called when the room was ready. Knowing I was celebrating a milestone birthday they had a card and champagne waiting in our room which was a thoughtful touch. I love the ambience of the hotel, which fits nicely in the quarter. There is a beautiful courtyard with a little salt water pool & chairs. Rooms are clean & well maintained. We stayed in the petite suite which was small (as stated when we selected it). I was happy with our room choice as we had the spcae we needed, and a window. There is no fridge, but that was ok. The location was perfect! Easy walking everywhere in the quarter & on Frenchman street. The hotel wad right on the parade route. We were not bothered by noise when sleeping, and the bed was very comfortable. This is the 2nd hotel we have stayed at is New Orleans, and we will most likely stay at the French Market in next time!
Very convenient location. Friendly staff.
I ❤️ this hotel! Highly recommended! Balcony … what a plus! Great ambience!
Had a lovely stay, We had 10 in our group and they did a wonderful job of accommodating the group. The grounds are beautiful and once you are in the hotel area you don't even notice the hustle and bustle of the town.
This was blind luck for us staying for the weekend and our group was extremely pleased! Nancy, Ms Minnie, Lonnie, Charissa… all of the staff really, were just outstanding. The hotel is in the best location, easy to walk anywhere in the quarter and was great for celebrating a special weekend in NOLA with great friends! We will be back!
Very nice, great staff. This is our third time staying here. Central to everything.
We stayed there last year and loved it. Can't wait to visit again and stay at the French Market Inn. Rooms were clean and reasonably priced. The staff were so nice and helpful. The location is amazing.
Excellent location, the most central hotel of new Orleans, very clean and comfortable, nice facilities, and excellent care on the part of Nancy, always attentive and definitely made our stay better, thank you Nancy!
Just visited New Orleans over this past weekend and stayed at this hotel. The building itself is beautiful, inside and out and well taken care of. The room was clean and the staff was helpful all around. I’ll definitely be staying here whenever I return!
Wonderful and charming Inn. Staff very friendly. Street view was fabulous and rooms are very clean. Love the private entrance to PJs coffee house. Will definitely stay here again!
This hotel is the epitome of the very best of Louisiana's hospitality! This beautiful hotel is centrally located in the heart of New Orleans with plenty of shopping, fine dining and local favorites. The river is literally minutes from the hotel and a quick walk over gives one an opportunity to go on a tour or just gaze at the beautiful scenery. The rooms are quaint, clean, elegant and QUIET! The hotel staff was extremely professional, informative, inviting and accommodating. Staying at historic place was an added benefit for my visit to NOLA.
Very nice and clean, well maintained. Gorgeous interiors throughout including the courtyard and pool. This place is within walking distance of Cafe Du Monde and a lot of nice restaurants/shopping. I suggest getting valet ($38) rather than the parking lot across the street ($47 for the day/but no in and out). Do not ask for a room with a balcony on Decatur Street, you will hear street noise all night long.
We normally stay in large chains when we travel, but I was taking a special trip with my daughter and I wanted a place with a better location and more ambiance. We just returned from our 4-day stay at the French Market Inn and it was awesome. First off, the communication prior to us arriving was great. I emailed with a couple of questions and got a prompt response. When we arrived, it was early… probably before 11am. I was able to check in, check my bags, and was told the desk would call me when my room was ready. We were able to go explore for a bit and received a call around 1pm indicating that our room was ready… 3 hours early (check in is 4pm). I was AMAZED when we got in the room. It was huge, with a nice sitting area, two beds and a nice bathroom… and we overlooked the courtyard with the pool. For the price, it was way more than I expected. The main draw for this hotel is the location… just a couple of blocks from Jackson Square, right across Decatur from the wharf with the Steamboat Natchez. There were tons of shops, restaurants, and cafes within a single block of the hotel. You could pretty much be anywhere in the French Quarter in less than 10 minutes. It was a short walk over to get on the St. Charles street car to go out to the Garden District. With such a central location, I expected a lot of noise, but we didn't really have any that I noticed in our room. We didn't even hear people in the courtyard.
My room was small but clean and you have to pay for valet parking. It's close to the French Quarter and that was the most important thing for us! The staff was helpful if we needed anything. I love the old look of the exposed bricks. The bathroom was clean too. We had a wonderful time.
A very positive and unforgettable experience! Very polite staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds and pillows. Staff was always on top of everything when we had questions or needed help. This was everything we were looking for. We will be coming back for our family trip every year. Daughter and Husband were also very impressed and enjoyed their stay. Invest in the valet, it’s worth it.
Love this place! Rooms are super quaint and charming with high ceilings and exposed brick. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The little salt water pool was nice, and the courtyard is sweet. We had a room facing the courtyard and it was very quiet. Bathrooms and rooms were 100% clean. I would definitely come back here. Great value and experience, being right in the French Quarter!
My stay at the French Market Inn was one of the best hotel stays of my life. I have traveled to 17 countries, staying in some incredible hotels, and I have to say that French Market Inn takes the cake. I stayed here from the 18th to the 22nd of June. First off, the location is incredible. A short walk to the bars and historic buildings on bourbon street but far enough to have a place where you can return to peace and quiet each night. Don’t get me wrong, it still is the righ…t amount of lively in the area, but you can surely get an excellent and quiet night’s sleep. The small pool was the perfect place to take refuge from the southern heat in the middle of the day, have a drink, and meet other travelers from around the world. (Pro tip: you can get a fresh beer from the brewery on the same block in a to go cup and enjoy it by the pool) The historic building, decorated with old timey (yet very clean) French inspired furniture made it feel like we were staying in luxurious estate. All of the perks and amenities of the French Market Inn were absolutely incredible but the best part about staying here was the warm and welcoming hospitality of the front desk/lobby staff. Each morning and night we were greeted with genuine smiles and friendly conversation. One woman in particular, Nancy, the front desk clerk went WAY above and beyond her normal job duties.
The French Market in is the most adorable inn with beautiful architecture, exposed brick, and super comfortable rooms. Very convenient to Bourbon St (without being right on top of the noise) and right next door to PJ’s coffee. Nancy was great checking us in, and even upgraded us to a beautiful balcony room. We highly recommend staying here!
This is a great place to stay for location and friendly staff. Have been coming here for 37 years and love it since it was remodeled a few years back. Jenna and Nancy at the front desk are so friendly and always greet you with a smile and willingness to help however and whenever. I highly recommend this place. A gem inside the French Quarter!
Not a guest, but I visited family while they stayed here. Such a gorgeous hotel. Very clean and welcoming rooms. The courtyard is quite quaint. I would have loved to have stayed here. The hotel is walking distance to anything you want to do. Riverboat tours, copious amounts of restaurants and bars, sight seeing, shopping, all within walking distance. What a great place to spend time at.
My experience at French Market Inn might have been my best experience at a hotel ever. First of all, it is such a cute hotel! It was very clean and you can tell it’s well taken care of. They had the nicest staff I’ve ever dealt with, from the ladies at the desk to the valets and bellmen. They were all very helpful and they appeared to be glad to help, not just because it was their job. It’s a very convenient location too. It’s close to Jackson Square, the French Market, and the French Quarter. The next time I go to New Orleans, I will definitely stay here again!
This was our first time here. Great location. We chose an interior room, it was that was available at booking, and we loved it. No windows in the room made for a very restful night. The hotel has a lot of character. The staff was very friendly and always ready to answer any questions. The location is awesome. We walked to and from most places. You are right in the quarter. Thanks!
LOVE this hotel! Great location, within easy walking distance from the best parts of the French Quarter. Friendly and professional staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome and at home. This is particularly true of the ladies who run the front desk! The hotel has a “real New Orleans” feel to it which is a gem in this city! Will absolutely stay here again!
Rich in history, the bell hop shared some of it with us as he showed us to our room. All the staff were very personable and helpful. Our room was bigger than we could have ever imagined. We were upgraded to the second floor, corner room facing the road where the double doors lead to the balcony. It was an awesome experience. The room was clean and the bed was cozy. Would love to stay here again.
The price is quite expensive, with no breakfast included. The Wi-Fi didn't work during our stay… The room with window is nice. The decoration is really cool. Propre here are very kind.
Good hotel right in the city centre in the famous French quarter. Friendly and courteous staff. Nice room, clean and comfortable. The large bathroom. For one thing, no Windows.
Great little place. The staff was absolutely the most accommodating I have had the pleasure of doing business with. They helped us and our band of kids when we needed them most. The appointments of the facility and the rooms had a nice New Orleans vibe. Also the best Po-boys in town are around the corner. I will absolutely stay here again.
Stayed at French Market Inn over Easter weekend. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Check-in was a breeze and they called us earlier than expected to let us know our room was ready. The location is great if you are visiting the French Quarter. It's conveniently located near the stores and bars but on a street that isn't all the hustle and bustle of Bourbon Street. The room was extremely clean and quiet. No issues at all. Would definitely stay there again if visiting the French Quarter.
We stayed at the French Market Inn from Sunday to Wednesday. The lobby is nice with a very helpful staff. The price was lower than most of the hotels in the area. The room was cozy with great wood and brick work. The room was quiet and the bed was nice. The shower had great pressure making it a really nice long hot shower. The courtyard was very relaxing at all times of the day and night. We had a great stay at the French Market Inn. We'll be back!
If you can get a room with a window, I'd say go for it! The staff is nice, the location is great. But we were there at a busy time and got stuck in a dungeon. The room was clean, and I didn't think no window would be such a big deal, but it was so hard to wake up when the room was just as dark in the morning as it was when you went to sleep. And we were like 2 ft from the elevator so anyone talking as they got on or off we heard. Maybe it'd be fine to stay in solitary if you got a great deal, but it seemed like I paid the same as anyone else with access to daylight. Probably wouldn't book again without doing it directly through the hotel and making sure it wasn't one of those rooms.
Stayed here for 2 days. The hotel is beautiful and everyone we met at the hotel were incredibly friendly. Beautiful decor and perfectly located in the middle of the French Quarter. Easy walking distance to everything you would want to see: Jackson Square, Cafe Du Monde, River, etc.
Excellent location Muu Good cleaning.
Hotel amenities are nice. It has a cool courtyard with a nice hangout pool. We had an inside room, so no windows, but no complaints as it was super quite for late sleeping. The location is awesome, short walk to Canal Street, short walk to Bourbon Street, pretty much a short walk anywhere you want to go. Staff was nice and helpful. I'd recommend a stay here.
Adorable little hotel in the heart of the quarter. The price is awesome but the valet service is almost a long wait. I also saw a mouse in our room but it was not a surprise given the floor was slightly slanted. Old building with charm but you get what you pay for. The employees were super friendly and sweet. I wish we could have used the cute little pool but it was too cold out.
Absolutely great stay. The rooms are great, the location is fantastic, and the employees of the hotel are incredibly friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was a very long wait for our car when we left. We will stay here again, but will find our own parking next time. Highly recommended!
If you like the boutique hotel experience this is a great choice. The rooms are exactly as they appear in the photos — no disappointment! Location is PERFECT! We walked or rode the trolley / bus everywhere — from the Lafayette Cemetery to Bourbon Street and Frenchman St. We also walked to the aquarium and Harrah's. The hotel is CLEAN and the staff super friendly. Tip: Ask for any room that is not on the street. It's noisy. Other than that — really a great place to stay.
The hotel itself was great! Loved our room and the location and atmosphere were amazing. But it took us over an hour and 15 min to get our car from valet. Which is ridiculous. I understand a bit of a wait but we called 45 min in advance and it still took them 30 min once we were out front waiting. Other than that it was a great stay!
This is an adorable hotel that is perfectly located. Our room was comfy and lovely. However, our experience was pretty bad overall because of terrible housekeeping. The night we arrived, I dropped something in the bathroom and bent over to get it, at which point I noticed the dirty underwear balled up under the sink. I reported it to the front desk and they took care of it; however, the issues did not end there. We missed housekeeping the second day because we were in the room most of the morning. They came the second day, but failed to notice that we were down to about 1/4 roll of toilet paper. My husband had to hunt them down through the hallways to ask for me. Our last day there, they left a note that they couldn't make our bed because there was a jacket on it. I understand that, but they didn't service the room at all — no trash removed, no new towels, and again, no toilet paper.
Absolutely an amazing hotel! The staff was beyond helpful from the beginning. Our room was incredible! The grounds were breathtaking and very well maintained. After staying here, I guarantee we will never stay anywhere else in the French Quarter. Wish I could give it more stars. Thank you to all of the staff for making our experience like no other! Great hotel!
The hotel itself was cozy and charming! The front desk staff was friendly! We were VERY unhappy with the parking. We paid $38 for valet and were told the day before it would take 30 minutes to get our vehicle. We called ahead and they told us it would be 45. It ended up being over an hour! It is only parked 8 blocks away! I guess they only have one person getting vehicles! Definitely not organized and we complained and they told us it was because of construction. We could have walked to get our vehicle faster. We had a long drive back home and the last thing we wanted was to waste an hour waiting on our car that we paid to valet park!
The walls are paper thin and you can hear the person in the room next to you cough. The band that plays across the street will also keep you up at night. Our room was not very clean (used shaving blade guard left behind the sink, hair on the shower walls) and the air conditioning was broken. To the hotels credit, the air conditioning was fixed promptly as they sent an outside service technician within the your. The staff is also very friendly and provides good service. I just don't feel the room rate is in line with the state of accommodations.
Love this place. Very cozy and close to everything in the French Quarter. The staff is very friendly and willing to help with any questions that you have. You can have your car parked valet style and then they will bring to you whenever you want it. The rates are very acceptable. Rooms were clean. The lobby is very open as a courtyard with a swimming pool.
Gorgeous hotel, exceptional customer service, excellent location, clean, valet parking, overall the best hotel I have ever stayed in. You can pay big bucks elsewhere but you can not buy class. This place has class, and the staff goes above and beyond with service. HIGHLY recommend. Definitely will be going back.
Room was amazing! Staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely pay to park your car with them. The valet is fairly quick and you most likely won't need your car during your stay anyway. Perfect location for the French quarter and French market. Right next to a cafe beignet!
Good centrally located NOLA hotel. Rooms are large and comfortable with historic brickwork. The rooms I stayed in were windowless but I didn't find that to be a huge issue. No bar or breakfast room but on the edge of the Quarter you won't struggle to find either food or liquor. Nice courtyard with pool.
Being a Louisiana girl, I have been to NOLA so many times but this was our first family trip with our boys. I looked for a family-friendly, convenient, and smaller hotel. I will have to say this has been the BEST place I have stayed at while visiting in NOLA. Staff was excellent. Location is SUPERB. Loved the hotel decor, security and convenience. My boys didn't want to leave and neither did we. We will be staying here every time now.
Let me start out by saying I'm Super skeptical of reviews online. I needed a place for myself and two children, after reviewing hotels for a week I finally decided on this one at the last minute. I'm so glad I did! The room is big (2 double queen with view) we have a room with a view of the river. Everyone is very nice and helpful. The room is beautiful, it's bigger than my master bedroom. There is no breakfast and the pool is small. The bellman told my children that they weren't allowed to splash in the pool! Really? We ate at this burger place to the left if your coming out of the hotel. The prices are reasonable and they have a kid's menu 12 and under $7 comes with a side and drink. They stated on the hotel website the room's are based on double occupancy and any one 13 and up will be charged adult rate. So let's say you and your spouse and 2 children check into the hotel. If you have a 10 year old and a 13 year old, that 13 year old will be charged as an extra adult! Hope this helps and good luck!
Staying there at the moment. 3rd floor overlooking Decatur st and very quiet. Flip side is you can't open the windows as there are double glazed and make it sound proof. Air conditioning works fine though. Old world charm and very fun and accommodating staff.
French Market Inn was perfect for our short stay in New Orleans. The rooms were clean and comfy. A bit on the smaller side, which I took as authentic to the French culture in the French Quarters. (Larger than rooms we had while traveling in Europe) and who is really spending a lot of time in their room anyway? Super friendly staff made our stay extra pleasant. We had a Courtyard view room, and besides the hard partiers coming in at 4am and slamming doors (which would happen at any hotel), it was super quiet. We did not use the pool, but not many people did while we were there. (So it seemed pretty private if you were looking to use the pool. ) Perfect location for everything you would want to do in New Orleans! Just a few blocks from Jackson Square, Canal Street (with Trollies to take you to the Garden District), and all the wonderful restaurants! Just far enough away from Bourbon Street that it stays pretty calm and quiet. Would absolutely book again for any subsequent non-business New Orleans trips.
AWESOME would be a good one word summary, but I should probably say more. The entire staff was friendly, attentive and with smiles all of the time as if they really enjoyed their jobs. The building should be a destination by itself. It appears to be a conglomerate of several surrounding buildings that were joined together to make one terrific place to stay. The open air courtyard features a small swimming pool that is a cool and comfortable way to avoid the heat while relaxing from all of the walking around the French Quarter. The courtyard has several niches with fountains and ample seating with tables. This Inn is located within walking distance to more restaurants, bars, shopping and things to do than you could shake a stick at. Highly recommend, and again I say, AWESOME!
This hotel was perfect! Excellent location, beautiful room/grounds, clean and very friendly staff. The brick walls are throughout and add a beautiful touch to the decor. Great mattresses and pristine showers/bathroom. We absolutely loved it here. Highly recommend it.
Omg! I wish I could give them 1 million stars! They are amazing! I love this hotel and will defiantly be staying here when I visited New Orleans gain. The hotel is right in front of the water. You can see the steam boat "natchez" from the front door. The lobby is gorgeous with a portrait of the original owner by the front desk. When we arrived we were greeted by Denise. Who is wonderful! If you have any questions ask her or irving. They are booth nice and knowledgeable about the area. My dad and I got a room with a balcony, which was GORGEOUS! Ugh… I dream about this room… The French Market Inn is within walking distance of everything. You can walk to Cafe Dumond to get some beignets or you can go to PJ's to get some delicious coffee and for the evening walk to bourbon street for some partying. Almost all the bars have live entertainment. I didn't walk into any bars that didn't have live entertainment. And it was always nice to come back to the French Market Inn to crash. Denise also gave us some brochures for tours that we attended. The first was the alligator tour where we went on the bayu (i know I spelled it wrong) and saw live alligators. We also got to hold a baby alligator.
The atmosphere was cozy, charming. Nice little courtyard in the middle. The location is perfect for meandering around the french quarter and the staff was incredibly friendly. I would absolutely go back.
Great location central to everything. Sleeping hotel only, no food service on site (except vending machines). Stayed 3 nights during middle of the week. Our first day, the bartender at Crescent City restaurant (3 buildings down river) said the hotel had undergone a major renovation and he'd met several people that stayed here and he'd only heard good things about the place since then. The style is Old World with classic NOLA charm and a terrific private courtyard (with small pool and open seating) that's relaxing and quiet from the noisy street front. Our bed was comfortable, we had a nice flat screen TV and great amenities. Our bathroom had double shower only which we prefer over a tub. Small friendly staff works hard to keep the place clean. In-room coffee isn't that great so we recommend making the 2-min walk to Cafe Du Monde. We had a great "bedroom" and we enjoyed having an easily accessible private getaway in the middle of the city so we could stop in to regroup between activities. Great layout between rooms and never heard our neighbors. Self parking lot available directly across the street was $42 for 24-hrs with ability to come-and-go. GREAT value for pre-paid booking online.
A great hotel in the prefect location with a ton of character and friendly staff. We had a balcony room facing Decatur and I'd say the only down side to the room was the fact that the street noise was very clear. Not a problem if you're a sound sleeper. It didn't bother me much tho and I'd definitely stay here again. I even had a possible paranormal experience. I was getting ready in the bathroom one morning when I felt a sharp pinch on my outer thigh. It felt almost like a strong shock and was so firm that I let out a loud yelp. In the instant that it happened I thought it was my husband but quickly realized, when he asked why I screamed, that he was in the other room. What an experience. Overall it was a great week and a great hotel.
Booked a trip for Mardi Gras and couldn't have been happier with my room. The whole hotel takes you back in history with its classic look and feel, the hotel staff was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, and I was right next to all of the action in the French Quarter. If you're looking for a great place to stay but don't want to shell out the big bucks French Market Inn is definitely the best choice!
My husband and I stayed here a few weeks ago, and we loved our experience! The lady at the front desk warmly greeted us when we checked in. She was very kind & made is feel right at home! The staff member that walked us uo to our room was also very kind! We booked a king interior room, knowing we would not have a window. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that we were on the top floor, and had a skylight! We loved having this natural light in our room, and would love to stay in that room next time we come to town. Our room was clean, and we loved how cozy it was! At first we thought it was an odd location for a room — as it was located in the stairwell of the building. But we found this to be a great location, as it seemed to be more quiet. We chose to park our car in the public lot across the street, and paid daily for parking. We could've used the valet parking offered through the hotel, but we chose not to. Each time we left the hotel or arrived back, we were greeted by both the valet parking attendants and the front desk staff. Any time we needed recommendations for food or activities, the staff was glad to help us out! We love the whole look of this hotel! It is very cute and we love all of the details! The courtyard was one of our favorite places in the hotel. We loved sitting in the courtyard each night and dipping our feet in the pool! The only small problem we ran into during our stay was the day we checked out.
Stayed at this hotel during Valentines weekend and OUR CAR WAS STOLEN from the valet service they offer, which is the only option they offer for parking. Went to check out the last day of our stay and the front desk receptionist just said "We can't find your car. Can you go take a look? ". Absolutely ridiculous. So we went to the valet garage (which is also public) and talked to the boys who worked there and they said that they leave the keys in the cars. How does that make any sense? So our car was stolen during the middle of the night. No one at the garage noticed that A CAR WAS MISSING until we actually called for our car in the morning. All the while this happened, we just got hollow apologies from the front desk receptionists as if it wasn't under their hotel that our car was STOLEN. No upper managment from the hotel ever apologised or contacted us. The hotel staff basically acted like they had no fault in this at all and just shrugged. Other than our car getting stolen which just obviously completely RUINED our stay here, the rooms were clean and nice. The valet takes forever getting the cars and the valet are unfriendly. So overall it was a pretty horrible experience.
Beautiful hotel. Rooms are small, but very cozy. Not a lot of room for clothes. We loved it here. Our first visit to NOLA and it's been amazing! This place is close to everything in the French Quarter! We'll be coming back and staying here again.
ABZOCKE!
I have an early 4 nights on Expedia (standard room) booked for about 840EUR.

One of the greats hotel we have every stay in. Staff was great, room service was the best. Very clean and bright. Will stay here again. Near all the best places in the French Quarter's. Enjoy.
I stayed here last year and looking to stay again. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean. I only wish we had a balcony choice or Windows. I'm a hard sleeper and tended to sleep in more than I should have since there was no natural light. I got used to the sounds and they boat turned into an alarm.
I would have giving a five star if I had a bathtub, although the staff was very polite in offering a change of room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My room was very clean and I loved the new orleans feel it gave off. The security was very helpful and made me feel secure at all times. The location was close to everything. Hands down I would choose this location everytime I visit. Make sure you ask for the shower room with the window if u want a updated room. Truly made my trip even better knowing I had a great place to sleep at night.
Do I have to give this a star? Worst lodging experience ever. Interior room felt claustrophobic and was tiny. Room was not at all properly cleaned. Dried urine stain on toilet, reddish brown stain on washcloth, hair on bed linen, and paper thin walls. Asked for another room but was told they were all sold out. Could not stand being there another night. Checked in at the Westin down the street for a better and more comforting travel experience that met standards. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this location at all based on my experience in an interior room.
Lovely staff, beautiful rooms, can be a bit noisy if you have a street facing room, but the mardi gras parades also pass by this hotel, so it's great value for balcony rooms during mardi gras.
Nice comfy and clean room. Great location. However, some of the hotel staff was not friendly or helpful, and the parking was expensive. Also no internet! The Wi-Fi wouldn't work!
Very clean rooms and the recent renovations seemed to squash some of it's reported hauntings. It was a mission to find my room, but the staff were helpful and friendly in assisting me.
I loved my stay here. The King Deluxe room was spacious and well appointed. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. My room was very clean, and the bedding was heavenly. The location was within walking distance to all of the French Quarter including Bourbon Street and Jackson Square, but well off the beaten path enough to be quiet for sleep. The inner courtyard is very peaceful and the rates were almost half of other comparable hotels in the quarter. My only complaint is no bathtub and no shower bench or chair. Cut my leg trying to shave. I would definitely stay here over and over again. It was not far at all from the Julia Street Cruise Terminal if you are getting on a cruise ship, and also very close to Harrah's Casino.
Very irresponsible and rude staff. Reservations made months in advance screwed up by staff and the manager basically says too bad. I got charged 20% of the price months in advance and the rest 3 weeks before the reservation. All non-refundable.
In short, this hotel is WONDERFUL! I highly recommend! As for the longer version, I was slightly skeptical about staying here, it was one of the only hotels that wasn't $300/night or sold out for this particular weekend. My friend and I were booking this hotel for its closeness to the House of Blues NOLA, and it was PERFECT with HOB three blocks one side and Cafe Du Monde three blocks on the other side! I called the hotel in advance to ask about keeping our luggage when we arrived as our flight landed at 8am and check-in wasn't until. Four, I think? And they said they would let us check in our luggage while we roamed around the city until our room was ready, which was perfect! So we went ahead and booked for three nights (Wednesday-Saturday morning). My friend and I are pretty laid back, go with the flow kind of people, we don't need much assistance and as long as the rooms are clean we are pretty content. Upon arrival (about 9am? ), we checked our bags and headed to Cafe Du Monde, and to our surprise, we got the call that the room was ready before we even got our beignets! The wonderful bellhop led the way around to our room (I don't remember the number, first room on the left off the elevator on the second floor? ) which again, surprisingly, was a room with windows when we had only booked an interior room! The room was beautiful and clean and had a corner view of STL and Decatur!
Love this place! I love the historical rooms. The old brick walls, exposed beam, and fireplace made the room feel like New Orleans! Staying again soon!
French Market Inn is currently under restoration, but everything about this place is just wonderful. Beautifully appointed rooms, in an authentic New Orleans atmosphere, with friendly staff, and exceptionally affordable rates. We loved everything about our stay! Can't recommend it anymore than that!
Really great location! Our room was super clean, and the staff was friendly and warm all hours of the day. The pool is tiny, and would be uncomfortable with more than two people in it, but meh. There's also a hotel cat name Patrick. He's sweet as can be and hangs out in the lobby.
If you want space in your room, get the two queen beds. Bathrooms are remodeled. Very cozy and perfect location.
Wonderful inn with wonderful staff! The courtyard is beautiful and the location is awesome. The front desk staff was extremely accommodating. The rooms have been beautifully remodeled with great attention to detail. The only thing I would have liked was coffee in the lobby in the morning. We will definitely be back.
Although the room had no windows I enjoyed my stay. Friendly staff! Bed was super comfy, pool and lobby were a few steps away. It's a GREAT LOCATION to explore this wonderful city.
Historic, charming, friendly staff. No complaints. The only potential downside is that our room was a little on the small side but honestly who hangs out in their room while you are staying in the French Quarter? We can't wait to come back here.
Excellent location, close to great restaurants. A parade passed the hotel. The room was charming (but small). Friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again.
I doubt I would stay here again. The location is great. But its been a bad experience. The room is really small. House keeping is extremely overbearing. Our first night we did not have a "do not disturb" sign and had to tell them 3 times to leave us alone. The 3rd time we had to get out of bed because they said we had to sign something that we didnt want the room cleaned. That night we got the do not disturb sign from the front desk. The next morning. Like clock work. 9:00. House keeping is banging on the door again even with the do not disturb sign. Check out is 11:00. They should wait until then before bothering people.
So here's the problem. We had a balcony room. Literally when we first enter our room I opened the door and immediately closed it because it was loud (didn't care, not the hotel's fault, and it's new orleans but important to the story later). On our last night in the hotel we decided to take a nap and go out later. When we woke up from our nap we saw a rat or mouse in the corner near our shoes. There was droppings on the desk next to the bed and on our shoes. While I'm freaking out we notice a second rat or mouse eating toilet paper in front of the bathroom. I'm fairly low maintenance and I get it sometimes there's rodents in hotels but it makes me very uncomfortable to come face to face with them. I just couldn't get comfortable there anymore so we decide to checkout early. On the elevator we decide to be as discrete as possible because we've had a good time up to this point. We go down stairs to let them know we saw 2 rats and we're leaving early, no hard feelings. My husband speaks to a woman named Dawn, she offers us a new room but I'm very freaked out (I literally won't be able to because I'll have that feeling somethings crawling on me all night, it's stupid but I was just too freaked out). I sit around the corner from the reception with our bags while my husband gets the car. Dawn assumes we have left, seeing my husband walk out the door and not seeing me around the corner and starts talking across the hotel to the bellhop about us. She says, "oh I saw them come in.
Absolutely loved our room. Great location. Bed was comfortable. No complaints. Will stay again.
We ended up staying at FMI because our go-to hotel (Place d'Armes) was booked up. This one is owned by the same company, and we were not disappointed. Happy with the rates; the location is hard to beat; clean rooms with a bit of character, and also a great courtyard; staff was pleasant and easy to work with (even gave us a couple bottles of champagne for the birthday boys in our party) ; and as far as parking goes, as of this week it was $31.36 with tax per night, I believe. Is what it is. I'll probably still check out Place d'Armes first when I go back down there in the future (like a 15-year tradition), but I certainly won't be heartbroken if I stay at FMI again :).
I read all of the reviews I could find on this hotel. I was especially happy about the price, but also very skeptical about what I was going to get when I arrived. We arrived on December 3rd, 2014 and were greeted by a very pleasant staff. Received my room key and walked into my room holding my breath with anticipation of what I would find (it is New Orleans after all). The room was AMAZING! It was open and spacious. VERY clean, and the bed was sooo comfortable. The bathroom looked newly renovated and was also very clean. The location of this hotel was perfect as well. We walked everywhere we needed to go. There was a Walgreen's on the corner a block down that is open til midnight. I would say the only negative was the fact that the room didn't have a fridge. And all of the positive definitely made up for that. **From someone who reads reviews a LOT, I am always skeptical about whether or not the person writing them is legit. From me to, I AM. I do not work for this hotel nor do I have a vested interest in making this hotel look good. I just want to let other people know that this is a great place to stay.
The hotel was just as listed. The rate was great for the area. The hotel is within walking distance from almost everything. My wife and I went down for a long weekend (2 nights) and got in interior room because that was all that was left. The AC worked great! The King room was small but met our needs just fine. The lobby was clean and nice and the front desk person was helpful. I know people don’t go to New Orleans to sit in their hotel and watch TV but we got back to the hotel and wanted to watch some Football (Fall Saturday) before going back out and their channel selections were worthless. One large negative I have is with the Valet service and parking. We were warned that it may take up to 30min to get our car when we were ready to go somewhere. So We called and said we would like our car in 30min. She called me back in about 15min and said it was ready. When we got in the car the driver’s seat was let all the way back and leaned back and a channel on the XM was selected that we had never used and the volume was way up. Not that I care if the valet listens to the radio I just feel for almost $30/day this is a very unprofessional way to leave someone else’s car. Pros: Great Location Good Pricing Clean Cons: Poor and expensive Valet Terrible TV channels.

RespondFriendly reception, rustic house with old walls and patios with plenty of Seating. In renovation located, but somehow quaint. The rooms are without TV, but who needs already in New Orleans. Directly across the Mississippi river and close to the French Market and Bourbon Street, so that in a few minutes these interesting points.

They offer laundry services through a 3rd party. We sent what I would consider one residential load and was charged 170 dollars for this. Outrageous! Coffee maker didn't work, asked for a replacement and it didn't work either. Desk clerk said he would address it but nothing ever happened. Got coffee next door this morning.
