Out of all the places we have stayed in while at the dells this is our favorite! when I say everything was perfect thats just what I mean I love that it is family owned we definitely want to support that and also the amenities!

Another great time at the Black Hawk last night. Great location, great room, and an awesome hot tub/pool with connected game room. We heard it was the last night of the season, so all we want to know is when do you open in 2020 so we can be there? Thanks Black Hawk!

My family has been staying at the Black Hawk for over 20 years. The rooms have always been clean.
The pools and game room and kids swings are been well maintained.
The Black Hawk owners and staff are friendly and welcoming.
It is very close to walking on the main strip.
I wouldn’t even think about staying anywhere else in the Dells!

This was one of the best places I've ever stayed! Reasonable prices for everything that's included with your stay.
Very friendly staff. Rooms had everything I would look for as a requirement in them (microwave, fridge, ac, additional side chairs and table).
If I was staying in the Dells and not at a nearby campground ever (on occasion I camp at a campground just due east of the Dells), this would definitely be my 1st choice.

Black Hawk Motel is amazing. Very clean quiet spacious rooms. The indoor and outdoor pools are really nice and well kept up. The staff is very friendly and willing to help. Definitely staying here again.

This is a really great, family oriented motel! Inside and outside pools, play area outside and a game room. Away from the BUSY parts of town. We've stayed here numerous times and always enjoy it.

Just got home from another wonderful automotion weekend in the dells and I would highly recommend the Black Hawk Motel! Even though the weather was bad, we utilized the pool, game room, and free passes to the Kalahari. Looking forward to next year, and many more! Thank you to the wonderful owners and staff for always making our stay here enjoyable!

Friendly service and clean rooms. A little outdated but recent remodels have helped. Good location only a few blocks from downtown. Beds are not great and rooms are small, but if you are just looking for a place to use as a home base while you're out doing activities, it is a good choice. My husband grew up staying here with his family, and he loves the nostalgia of the place.

The guy was super nice about us needing to arrive very late. We got free passes to Noah's Ark, no problem. The room was nice. It's better than it looks in the pictures. It would've been nice to have an extra pillow or bath towel in the room (though I'm sure they would've provided either if we'd asked). Tremendous deal for the price.

The black Hawk Motel Wisconsin Dell's, I enjoyed it. It had 2 swimming pools, one inside and one outside. And an Arcade/game room. About 10/15 min walk to down shoping area. The hotel staff was friendly and made us feel right at home. The rooms was nice and comfortable and came with microwave/refrigerator and coffee pot. Very affordable plus you can still get into some of the big attraction free by staying there. I would stay there again.

Did lots of research on where to stay in the Dells and finally landed on the Black Hawk. Price and rating is what pulled me in — great ratings at a reasonable price, can't go wrong, right? Most definitely! What sealed the deal was that they offer free passes to Noah's Ark Waterpark and Kalahari indoor theme park. You also get loads of coupons on everything from food to attractions. I really can't say enough good things — it was quiet, clean, had a neat retro arcade, indoor and outdoor pools, a friendly staff, within walking distance to downtown and a short drive to pretty much everything else.

Their slogan of "Where retro meets modern" is only part of the story. You will not find a cleaner, more well run or more up to date motel anywhere let alone in the Wisconsin Dells! Truly old school with all the modern amenities. As far as value, well this place offers more bang for your buck than anywhere else in the Dells. Free water park passes and passes as well as discounts to area attractions. This is the place!

This was our second year staying here and we have absolutely no complaints. The price is great, the rooms are always spotless, the passes to Noah's Ark and Kalahari are an added bonus and everyone is very friendly. Thank you for being so amazing!

Great vacation. Clean, updated rooms. Parked car at the door. A few steps to indoor pool (with slide and towels), which saved our vacation as their were 3 days of rain. Outdoor pool also had a kiddie pool for the little one. Informative hosts. Can't beat daily free passes to Noah's Ark Water Park and Kalihari Park (dry). Will surely stay here again.

Excellent stay and value! Very clean and the amenities were wonderful. There were 7 of us that fit in a room very comfortably. We all received free wristbands for our stay through our check out date to Noah's Ark Waterpark and the Kalahari Indoor Theme Park. We will definitely be coming back and staying here again!

Been coming here since I was a child and it still feels the same. They are always servicing and maintaining the property, keeping it up to date. It is a family run place so you do not get that feeling that you are just a number, yet you get a comfortable, clean, up to date room at a fair price.

Love the staff, love the remodeled rooms. Nice pools, comfy bed. Only complaint is pillows suck. Greet more good quality pillows. Free Noah's passes are added bonus! Will definitely be back.

Comfortable and cozy. Nicely appointed rooms. Nothing extravagant. Off the beaten path which actually is a bonus. You get Noah's ark passes for outdoor fun. For inclement weather they give you passes for Kalahari's indoor ride attractions. They have indoor and outdoor pools. R E L A X here!

Our room is 100% not what we thought. This motel may not look much but get the suite with the king size bed. I promise you wont be disappointed. I thought we were in a 5 star hotel at first! I was very impressed and the owner is one of the sweetest people ever!

What a cool quaint old school retro model. So much more character than chain hotels. Very clean and neat. They have a nice knotty pine pool area with a heated pool, hot tub and great sauna plus a retro arcade. Very relaxing and warm after a cool day at the water park. They also give passes to the water park, an indoor amusement park and a haunted house. The staff was very pleasant. I would stay here again and recommend this place. And the price was fair too. Stay here.

We stayed here last night and it was great. Even with the parking lot being replaced during our visit, I couldn't ask for a better spot. Not sure if it was Tena or not, who was working at the front desk, but whoever it was, she was very nice and accommodating. I feel like I found a gem in this place. I highly recommend this place. We will be back.

Great motel a hidden jewel within the downtown Dells area. Rooms are super clean and updated. Beds are extremely comfortable and they have a great indoor and outdoor pool area. I can't recommend this place enough!

We had a great experience! Nice updated, clean & lg. Size rms. We had 2 queens & a comfy pull-out sofa & still had plenty of space for a kitchenette area, eating area + a sofa table & still plenty of walking space. Right outside your rm were chairs to relax on or picnic tables to eat on. Super welcoming & helpful staff. The 3 teenage boys enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi & sauna + the game rm. Will definitely go back & stay longer!

This place is awesome! VERY affordable, CLEAN, great location and customer service. We spent 2 nights and it felt so nice that we extended our vacations a couple more days. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed staying hear. The staff was great and the room was very nicely updated with lots of room to be comfortable. It was great to have a full kitchen.

Stayed for two nights in a room with 2 queen beds. Very nice, clean rooms. Seemed very up-to-date. Indoor and outdoor pools were great. Awesome amenities. Only a few blocks from downtown. Lots of things to do within driving distance! Definitely will stay again.

This is our family's favorite motel to go to in the Dell's. The owner Brad & his wife and staff are always very friendly & accommodating. The location is walking distance to the downtown & a short drive to the water parks. We recommend this motel to our friends every chance we can. The rooms are exceptionally clean always!

I don't normally write reviews but this place I have to. From first glance off the street I was a bit hesitant, but after staying was more than impressed by how clean the rooms are. The gentleman at the front counter was beyond polite and very helpful. He made it all so easy. Quite place and very kid friendly. Rates were great! Everything great. I will definitely be back.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. Our room was ready hours early, customer service was phenomenal, the amenities are great, and the waterpark passes for all days of stay is such a good deal! The room was spotless and nicely renovated. Nothing but amazing things to say about this hotel and staff. Will be back!

At some point in time, we as a species got more attracted to sparkling, shiny objects than quality of service and value. This little slice of Americana brings that good old feeling of being a savvy vacationer right back. Enter: Black Hawk Motel in Wisconsin Dells. You couldn't ask for a nicer group of people, a better location or bang for your buck. This wasn't our first time in the Dells, but it was our first time in a small motel like Black Hawk. To be honest, I don't think we'll ever stay with a large resort again. If you haven't experienced the bliss that is parking directly in front of your room's door and walking just a few feet to bring your luggage in, you're seriously missing out. Gone are the days of trekking 20 minutes across a resort mecca to drop your luggage in your overpriced room; well at least for our family anyway. The room was clean, well equipped with all the essentials and to our surprise, recently updated. Our two night stay in a two-queen room were right around the price of what one night in one of the resorts will cost you. Included with our stay were daily passes to both Noah's Ark and the indoor theme park at the Kalahari (in case you want to get a taste of the big resort without having to stay there). I want to say the guy who runs the joint is named Brad. He and his crew are all some of the nicest folks we've ever encountered behind the counter of a hotel/motel. If I could give this place six stars, I would.

Black Hawk motel is a wonderful, clean and friendly place to stay. We were "upgraded" to the newly reopened, remodeled rooms with king size bed and very tastefully decorated. Walking distance to alot of the attractions. We enjoyed our stay!

We stay at this motel because it is truly a gem hiding just out of plain sight. I was pleasently surprised when we rolled up and saw the lobby office was completely bright and shiny — turns out they revamped everything and the whole complex was updated! You won't find an indoor and outdoor pool, whirl pool, playground, arcade and good clean rooms with soft beds, refrigerators and microwaves along decently large LCD TV at most hotels sub $100. The price for a two queen has gone up, but otherwise, this is a motel that everyone should try, without regrets!

I never thought that I would enjoy staying in an old school motel, but the Black Hawk Motel is great! Indoor and outdoor pools. Free wristbands for both Noah's Ark and Kalahari indoor gaming area included with your stay. Highly recommended!

Retro outside, modern inside and extremely clean and well-kept, and they keep making updates to make it even better. The owners take pride in their place and it shows. They are there daily and can be seen checking on things and always say hi. The location is just past the original Dells downtown area, so it is quiet yet close enough to walk to the restaurants and shops. A short 5 min. Drive to the blue and white water park strip (the strip now saddens me as I drive down it because all the fun pools that I remember from my childhood have been removed). I appreciate all the hard work Brad and Tena put into this place to keep guests happy and coming back! So many horror stories from the huge water park hotels, that I feel lucky to have been told of this place! Very family friendly with an assigned parking spot right outside your room, fridge and microwave in room, rooms with 3 very comfy queen beds that are spacious and super affordable, a playground, indoor and outdoor pools that are the perfect temperature, and free passes to Noah's Ark and Kalahari indoor theme park! Second time staying and we will keep coming back! You won't be disappointed!

Rooms are decent sized super clean. Significant other did the "white glove test" not a speck of dust anywhere! has nice deep drawers to put your things in and also in the sink/bathroom area there are also drawers to keep mini fridge microwave decent sized TV love the walk out private entrance cars parked right in front of your place. I have fibromyalgia so not having to do Stairs is a plus and the ice machine is super close and you CAN fill your cooler! a walk down Broadway to all the different stores restaurants bars attraction is only a couple blocks away! definitely will be staying here again! love it!

Room was nice and clean like I expect it. AC was cold and the indoor/outdoor pool facilities and small park were great for my six year old and I. Hot tub nice and hot. Included passes to Noah's Ark and Chula Vista were the icing on the cake. People care here and that's what counts!

BEST place to stay! Residential, safe, quiet, area. Far enough away from the strip/activities and yet close enough to walk to. Everyone is so friendly, the rooms are very sound proof, it's very kid friendly, and loved the amazing indoor pool! That pool alone deserves an award. That water is warm and so relaxing. Stayed in a single queen room thinking it would be small but the vaulted ceilings made it appear much bigger. It's well kept, loved the flower boxes outside. They really care about the upkeep of the whole place. We are so glad we booked this one, we will definitely stay here again.

We stayed in the king whirlpool balcony suite and it was amazing. Outside of the motel looks a little run down, but the inside will blow your mind! Clean, updates, friendly staff and great pool hours!

My family's been staying at the Black Hawk since before I was born (I'm 42 right now, do the math). Priced like a budget motel, this place is scrupulously clean and well maintained. Additionally, the same family's been running it for 3 generations now. So there's DEFINITELY a family vibe and real pride in their establishment. No, it's not one of the mega-hotels with an indoor waterpark and hundreds of other guests. It's a quiet little corner of the Wisconsin Dells, within walking distance of Downtown. If you're bent on hitting all the attractions, it's a nice, restful place to come back to at the end of the day and wind down. If you're just looking to relax, everything you need is right there. There's a wide variety of rooms available (some with up to 3 queen beds), as well as cottages and suites. All rooms come with TV, Wi-Fi Internet, Fridge and a microwave at the minimum, and prices are ridiculously affordable. So, the next time you're planning a trip to The Dells, do yourself a favor. You won't be sorry.

Great little "retro" motel on the edge of downtown Dells. We loved it. Great price, nice pool areas, loved the arcade room. We could walk downtown for dinner and shopping. Will definitely recommend to friends and family, and will be back!

May 2015. Fantastic! Our room was very clean and beautifully renovated. Priced a little higher than some places, but I wasn't afraid to stand in the shower in my bare feet, I'll be back for sure.

First stay at Black Hawk Motel. Very pleasantly surprised. Rooms very very clean and spacious. (Two queen beds) Indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub, sauna, game room. All very good. Plus free Noah's Ark tickets for all guests! Will stay again.

This place is a great location, just a few blocks away from downtown dells. Noah's Ark and Chula Vista tickets were included with our stay which was awesome. We were able to enjoy Noah's Ark and then come back to our air conditioned room and head over to the indoor hot tube. The pool times are very reasonable and the front desk staff are really friendly and helpful. I will hands down stay here again with my family.

My stay here was pretty good, staff was nice rooms were clean and tidy. i would stay again. indoor hot tub was great and pool closing times was reasonable too. only bad thing I can even say was the shower was not that great but not the worst thing in the world.

I am writing to say that I booked our room for 5 people and then had to change to 3 people as 2 of them were unable to come that weekend. The man I talked to on the phone was so kind and gentle. Took care of my needs and concerns, I called again to put us on the wait list for a Friday night and just today I called AGAIN and got the same kind man. I told him I was so bummed that my husband's work schedule changed and that we could not make it after all. He was so nice and said he would not charge me the cancellation fee and I thanked him. I am sure they will have no problem filling that room. We talked how I had book a room for August way back in May or maybe even earlier! I told him that I will for sure be booking a room next year and he told me he was looking forward to that. That is why a place like that has been in business for so long! EXCELLENT customer service.
