I stayed here overnight with my girlfriend to celebrate my birthday and we had such an amazing time! We were given a thorough tour of the mansion and the history behind it as soon as we arrived. It was really interesting. The mansion has so much character, and we had a lot of fun exploring. We stayed in the Marion suite and loved it. The bed was comfortable, and we loved the jacuzzi and walk in shower. Breakfast the next morning was so yummy, and we appreciated being sat in the “breakfast nook”. Thank you for a wonderful weekend! We would love to come back soon.

Tom and julie are so cute and do an excellent job of a small tour and breakfast. The mansion itself is a twist of breathtaking and creepy… we did experience some paranormal activity in our room but nothing to make u run out the door screaming… neat little place and my wife and I will defentanally be back for a romantic experience.

This place is just beyond belief and beauty the wood work and the natural beauty of a 110 year old mansion. The employees are bearly seen and also very nice can't wait to come again in the future.

Everything was great! Tom is a wonderful host, breakfast was delicious and the house was BEAUTIFUL.

Wow! The Sherlock Holmes performance was outstanding. The characters were delightful and so well done. I will definitely have to keep future shows on my calendar.

The rooms are beautifully furnished, the hospitality as well as breakfast is amazing, and the owners Tom and Julie along with the Innkeeper Tom are gracious and fantastic hosts! We enjoyed our stay immensely and will definitely be visiting again!

I went to attend a play that was shown in the basement of the Brumder Mansion. I knew that there are well preserved mansions in that area but was excited to find this treasure! I'm looking forward to going back to explore the bed and breakfast when I am able!

Saw the play “The Children’s Room” here. The play was fantastic! The venue is beautiful. The possibilities for this unique space are endless. Definitely will be back, possibly for a night away.

I attended a theatrical performance in the renovated basement into made theatre and bar. There's just too much to love about this place, the beautiful architecture, the historical details, the very unique atmosphere when walking it's halls, the art on the walls, even the walls themselves have something to say. I can't speak for the Bed and Breakfast side of Brumder Mansion, but find a way to check this place out for one reason or another. The staff is very friendly, it's easy to find (minus current road construction), and you don't HAVE to do the whole B&B thing to get a taste of Brumder.

My mom has stayed in every room but Emma's and she and I stayed in George's room when we stayed. We stayed with a group and investigated, we didn't wake up in time for the group review but that night SOO much happened and in our room we got class A EVPs along with things being moved captured on the recorder left running all night. The jet tub and that huge flat screen TV was enough to make it a 5 star night stay even without the ghosts!

Breakfast was delicious! Movie selection was great, air tub was amazing but mattress and pillows could’ve been better. Along with the cleanliness.

Seriously the best people! Everything is antique and well taken care of. The mansion is conveniently located to the eagles ballroom/ the rave. Maureen, the loveliest woman, makes a very delicious breakfast and cooks everything perfectly. Just Tom, the owner, is quirky enough for a haunting and just the right amount of friendly. Could not have been happier!

Exceeded expectations! We spent NYE in the Brumder last night in the Marion Suite. If you like a very toasty, cozy room this is the one. If you want a slightly cooler room try the lower floors. The whirlpool hot tub was perfect, the bed was comfortable, the decor top notch, the charm and warmth of the staff and space are indescribable. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic and Tom was a wonderful innkeeper. I live in the Milwaukee area and would definitely return. Neither of us wanted to leave at noon today but I couldn’t have asked for a better way to bring in the new year. They also have theater performances in the former speakeasy basement turned community theatre room. You simply must stay. Don’t let the area deter you, you’re a simple uber ride into downtown and the lot is very secure. So much praise. This was one of the best room stays of my life.

Lots of ambiance and personality. Room was unique and interesting. Bed was comfortable, room was clean, and whirlpool worked great. Really enjoyed the tour of the mansion and the history. Owners were very accommodating. Would definitely go back.

Saw a wonderful production of 'Bell, Book, and Candle' in the performance space in the basement. It's comfy and cozy.

Great place, wonderful staff, and yummy breakfast. Tom Marks was our Innkeeper and he made sure we were well taken cared of the entire time, as soon as we arrived to the mansion he greeted us and told us the whole story about the mansion and gave us a tour. The food was yummy and the room had a hot tub included which was a plus. Will definitely return again!

Service was amazing. Tom was a wonderful inkeeper and went above and beyond to take care of us.

My wife and I visited the Brumder Mansion B&B for her birthday, and the experience was delightful. From the warm welcome by the owner and the staff to the fanciful, beautiful spacious room, to the sumptuous and lavish breakfast, the experience was a "10. " We will go back someday, but cherish the enchanting and wonderful memory.

This place is full of personality. It's kind of like walking into Downton Abbey. The mansion has lavish wallpaper, gorgeous art and a rich history.

We attended a play in the theatre space. Before the show, the owner kindly gave us a tour of this magnificent home. It was a wonderful evening.

We had a lovely time here. Tom and Julie are very hospitable and made us feel very welcome. It was like staying with family rather than being guests. We are vegans and the cook Tom and Julie bith made sure we had a vegan friendly breakfast to eat. They gave us a tour of the building and gave us some history which was very neat. We will definitely be going back again and recommending them to friends and family looking for a great place to stay.

The mansion is beautiful. Took my 5 year old to see"The Night Before Christmas" and we loved it! I recommend it to out of town guests as a fun alternative to a regular hotel. One of a kind and fun place!

We ended up here because Peter, the concierge at Pfister Hotel recommended it. The entire bad experience at the racist and sexist Pfister Hotel had left a very bad taste in our mouths. We were badly in need of relaxation, and boy, did we find the right place! We were lovingly welcomed by Tom 1. Tom 2 carried my suitcase upstairs, and Wonderful Tom 3 (Tom Carr), his queen Julie, and Tom 1 kept us feeling welcomed and loved. They fed us awesome food, unlimited booze. On Sunday evening, we were treated to a FREE and awesome play in the intimate basement theater. We had a blast. We will definitely visit again. Did I tell you that this place has 3 Toms!

Tom ("kitchen" Tom? ) went out of his way to prepare fresh breakfast sandwiches for us the night before we had to fly out. Since we had to leave really early to catch our flight, he brought up a full breakfast tray the evening before; he reminded us about the microwave in the hall and wanted to be sure we got a great start to our day! Thanks, Tom! No Al Capone ghost warping YOUR spirit! ;-)

Very nice (and allegedly haunted! ) old bed & breakfast with a great history — including links to Al Capone. Most of the house is either original or nicely restored and the three employees we dealt with were pleasant and informative. A little too much marketing for local businesses and the neighborhood is a little below the house is the only reason it's 4 star instead of 5

This was my first stay in a bed and breakfast, as well as my girlfriend's. Therefore, we don't have much to compare to, but the house itself was an interesting blend of history and halloween decor (based upon the weekend of visiting), and the room was amazing. We got a full run through of the room and the various amenities inside (whirlpool bathtub, fireplace, etc. ) and had a lovely trip. The price also seemed very in line with how nice everything was for us. Highly recommended.

Beautiful house, delicious breakfast, and Tanja is so friendly and helpful you just gotta hug her! I had the Gold suite and all my friends staying in downtown hotels for our Lia Sophia conference were jealous! I'd never stay anywhere else in Milwaukee.

I agree! Old posts do no justice! My husband and I chose to elope on New Years Eve of 2009. We wanted to stay somewhere quiet, inviting, and memorable. As we explored the website we found that not only was The Brumder the place we wanted to stay on our wedding night but it would be perfect for our wedding. We had a simple ceremony with two witnesses and thanks to the Inn Keeper, Tonja, we said our vows in the library (we both love to read! ). To my surprise a man named Tom introduced himself to us and offered photos! Tom and his wife are the new owners and as it turns out Tom has a background in photography. He wanted to offer us professional photos as a gift. We felt so lucky that he was in town that evening because our video camera didn't make it through the ceremony. To my surprise again, when I revisited the website weeks later, Tom and Julie had included photo's of our special night on the site. What an honor! Everything was delightful! From Tom and Julie welcoming us back after we stepped out for dinner to the comforting words from Tonja minutes before the ceremony to the pleasant chats over a fabulous quiche the next morning. I wouldn't change a thing! The mansion is absolutely beautiful. It has a great history, uniquely decorated rooms and the whirlpool tubs make it perfect! We are already planning our next visit on our anniversary! I will forever recommend The Brumder Mansion to family and friends. Thank you again to Tom, Julie, Tonja and all the staff.

First off, don't read old reviews for this place. It is under new management after 2007 (I think). Things are MUCH less cluttered. They only kept very classic and beautiful pieces of furniture and cleaned it up a ton. I guess it was more like an antique store with an eclectic mix before, but now it is very nice. Also room rates are down and are very affordable for what you get. I have my favorite room, but each person will like things differently. Now to the review: What a Bend and Breakfast! This place is an absolutely fantastic and first class Bed and Breakfast. Each room has a unique flavor and style that makes each stay special. The house has multiple sitting rooms to stay and relax in as well as some complimentary wine if you would like. The sitting rooms have some amazingly beautiful pieces in them. The woodworking is just fantastic. There is also plenty of space; they have not packed the sitting rooms with piece after piece in an eclectic mix, but instead placed each piece with thought and care and left open spaces so that you can enjoy each piece in its place. I can't say enough about how well the house is laid out. The same goes for the rooms. And if having wonderful bathrooms is for you, they have a few rooms that are simply amazing. I highly suggest you stay at this B&B.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Gold Room and we had a great time. We went to a concert at the Rave, which was within walking distance from the mansion. The hostess was very nice and the breakfast was delicious. I would visit again.
