This is a beautifully repurposed 19th century office building that retains many of the original building features. Staff at front desk was very helpful.

We loved the history and atmosphere. Everyone was friendly and courteous.

Outstanding customer service, nice rooms and in house restaurants and bar.

They moved my friends entire room block just to make more money up charging rooms for the bucks game. She booked this block for her wedding well over a year ago and they just emailed her about the change. Horrible place.

Very pet friendly! However be aware there is no relief area per se. However there’s a park about. 8 miles that’s easily walkable.

Great old building with 12’ ceilings. If your like architecture then spend a night here.

It was a nice stay. Didn’t like that they didn’t offer continental breakfast and had NO pool for the kids but overall it was decent place to sleep at so we could site see in WI.

Kris and Abbie from Hilton Garden had this tray, wine and a hand written card delivered, expressing their condolences for our loss. They have been extremely accommodating and thoughtful after a small mix up with our room. Nothing on their part but they still took care of everything then went the extra mile. If you ever plan to visit come here and ask for Kris or Abbie. They definitely deserve the five star rating.

What a great hotel! We had a very successful day of volleyball and a bottle of bubbly and treats were delivered to our room with a note of congratulations!

The staff are absolutely fantastic — I have literally never been so impressed by every employee encountered. From Abbie's warm and helpful greeting at check-in to Kris' white-glove level of service and Brandon's hero status, we felt like Guests of Honor throughout our entire weekend stay. The hotel is very grand and extremely clean, the beds are comfy, and the food is fresh and delicious. I would come back to Milwaukee just to stay here and explore downtown!

We had an amazing visit at the Hilton Garden Inn downtown. The hotel is beautiful and well maintained. All of the staff clearly take pride in their work, as they should, everyone from valet, to servers, to housekeeping, all the way through to the management were not just professional but also personable and so incredibly kind to us to ensure we were making the most out of the trip. Everyone was happy to offer recommendations and were eager to accommodate any and every need. We’ve never visited Milwaukee before this trip but the staff added to such a positive experience in the city. We can’t wait to explore the city again and will definitely stay with the Hilton Garden Inn!

This is an awesome hotel, great service in historic surroundings. The building is a living history testament, marble and brass used in the surroundings to the form elegance and grandeur of past success. A great breakfast, fresh and plentiful food, quick and friendly service, got us out the door quickly to get our day started.

Best hotel ever! Like someone else said, they really treat you like royalty. F&B staff are professional and friendly. Front desk folks are the best! Rooms are huge and beds very comfy. Atmosphere is excellent. Cleanliness is a plus! Overall the hotel looks great.

Took a tour of the hotel while deciding on a block of rooms for my upcoming wedding. This place is stunning! So many beautiful old features and unique touches. The staff we met with were friendly and knowledgeable. Rooms were spacious and clean. Rates were on par if not lower than other nearby hotels. One of our top contenders!

Great place to stay! The staff was very helpful and friendly. Our weekend get away started off bad, when the hotel we were suppose to stay at only had room for us for 1 night and not 2. We called and they said they had room available for both, we were much better off here! Natalie, Kris and the rest of the front desk were awesome! Thanks again for a great anniversary weekend!

Overall, a very nice stay and close to being a five star experience. The staff was second to none, during all of my interactions. The room was pleasant and comfortable and nicely sized. Location downtown was great with many venues close by. My only real complaint was the bathroom which felt dated and my toilet was loose from the floor, which was precarious. Otherwise, I would recommend a stay here.

Had an absolutely amazing stay at Hilton. The staff was so accommodating. Especially Kris who gave us tons of restaurant recommendations which were all soo good. He also send treats to our room with a personal note wishing my husband a happy father's day. Super thoughtful and much appreciated. Our suite was great! Kind size bed was so comfortable… slept even better than at home. Thank you for a great stay and all the accommodations.

We had made reservations 6 months ahead of time and needed adjoining rooms because of elderly parents traveling with us. When we got there. The front desk person slammed the HUGE metal entry way doors into my Moms shoulder. She bruised the next day and was in pain for a couple of weeks. When we checked in they didn't have the adjoining rooms. It took awhile to get those. Then the front desk person "gave" us breakfast vouchers. Only to find out after the trip Breakfast was included with our rooms, we had paid. For the upgrade. The Lady front desk person the night before we left did take car of our valet cars. So I'm thankful for that!

We will never stay in another Hilton Hotel and the Hilton Guarantee is a lie. We have stayed in more Hilton locations than we can count (US & abroad) and have never been treated worse than after staying at the Hilton Garden Inn, Milwaukee Downtown. We were double charged for things, it was obvious to us and Hilton (and agreed by both) that they were double charges, yet the charges remained. We were referred to Hilton's Customer Service to get it resolved. Hilton proceeded to pass us from person to person, email to email clearly set up to wear us down. It worked, we went from Hilton Gold Members to staying anywhere except Hilton. There are very nice options to this hotel in a very fun area of Milwaukee, we suggest to everyone to go elsewhere.

Beautiful lobby and building. We loved reading the historical facts of how it was built for only 725K back in the day! The room sizes are good, albeit a touch dated. Breakfast was delicious and the staff are nice. The location is excellent — close to the Milwaukee Public Market, Riverwalk, Historic Third District, and museums. Parking nearby is a bit expensive.

Easily 5 stars. Natalie was extremely helpful at the front desk and she provided great service for my family during our short weekend getaway. All of staff as a whole was very accommodating. This is our third time staying here over the last 3 years every time has been better than the last. Great area of town as well.

The front desk staff and the housekeeping staff took the time to introduce themselves so I would know who they were if I had any issues. Our rooms were spotless — they even put extra towels and toiletries in my room, since they knew I would have my bridal party getting ready with me! In addition, we had some sweets and champagne left in our room for our wedding night. They were very accommodating for pictures on their beautiful staircase (which I would recommend)! The pricing was reasonable for my room block, but I did get married in late April — not during the summer, when I'm sure pricing is higher.

Nice rooms, great service, comfortable beds, serviceable lobby bar. Stayed here for a wedding so didn't spend much time in the hotel but was very satisfied.

Room was decent, hotel nice overall. I arrived to find someone else's leftovers in my fridge, which seemed strange, but I can think of worse things to find in a hotel room. Parking is inconvenient and overpriced, but it's also downtown Milwaukee and the area is walkable.

Beautiful hotel and perfect location for downtown. I can't say enough about the staff and their amazing service during the visit. Check In, Room, Hotel Bar were all top notch. Don't hesitate to book at this Hilton. It's great.

The Hilton garden inn was a fabulous hotel. Great appearance and clean. Rooms were cleaned and stocked plus a mini fridge. Breakfast buffet was nice didn't try the restaurant though. Service was excellent.

Beautiful building! You can tell this building has history. Staff was friendly and helpful and the room was tidy and beautifully decorated. And all for a reasonable price! I will definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.

Our stay was great. The rooms are clean, quiet and the bed are comfortable. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. The only problem was parking. You can vallet park for 30$. We parked in a lot across the street for 15$ a night but once you park you can't leave. The hotel is within walking distance to a lot of places but when it's 11 degrees and snowing out, it's not great.

Beautiful historic building that has been converted to a Hilton Garden Inn. I would have expected a full-service Hilton The Way They Were super attentive to my needs and super friendly and just the whole layout of the building. I wish I could have spent more time here. I would definitely come back.

This is a beautiful, historic facility. We just stopped in for the restaurant since we were seeing a show at the Riverside, and it was well worth it. The food was delicious and the service was pleasant. I'd recommend coming here if you're trying to avoid the hour-long restaurant waits downtown while waiting for a show!

Looking for a couple's getaway and this was the place! Friendly staff and complimentary coffee, cocoa, and cookies made us feel very welcome. The building is on the historic registry and worth walking through itself! Our king suite was incredibly spacious with nearly 20 foot ceilings that made it feel even more so! You had to pay for valet parking, but it was reasonable with friendly attendants and quick service from request to parked at the door. Even with frigid temps, there were plenty of great places we were able to walk to within the surrounding block. This will be our go-to hotel when we return to Milwaukee!

My husband and I were in town for his company holiday party last night at the Mitchell Domes. From the moment we parked in front of the hotel until we left today, we were in awe. The architecture combined with those special Hilton touches and top notch customer service and stately guest rooms made for one of the best hotel stays we've ever had. Every single staff member we encountered from the valet to the front desk to the bartender to wait staff went out of their way to help us and share their pride in this impressive property. I found myself locked out of my room this morning when my key wouldn't work and a young man from maintenance stopped to help me and let me in. Later while we were touring the hotel he passed by carrying a ladder and asked if we were enjoying ourselves and complimented me on my 'vibrant blue' sweater. I don't have a single complaint and we hope to stay there again soon! Thank you all!

What an amazing hotel! The architecture alone is worth the stay. High ceilings, beautiful craftsmanship, so much detail in the building. Second floor has a brief history of the building, which was very neat. The rooms are large and nicely furnished. They are quiet with very little road noises through the walls. Bathroom was clean and updated. Again, high ceilings made it feel very open. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Front desk was super helpful with recommendations for restaurants and shopping. Great area as well. I love the downtown area as there is so much character. Walking distance to great restaurants! Very reasonably priced for the area and history. There are also a ton of meeting areas spread throughout the hotel. We had a few business meetings here and were able to enjoy the space as it was intended.

The Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Milwaukee is our place of choice when visiting the area. Excellent staff. Clint, Natalie, Kris and many other employees have always made our stays exceptional experiences. Clint has shared some of the buildings history as well. The Valet service is a great offer and they kindly greet hotel.

We didn’t have a good experience at all during our stay, but I must say… Hilton’s Guest Services completely impressed me with the handling of my complaints today. Every concern I had was addressed and I feel confident the right changes will take place to ensure a future stay is more comfortable. We will definitely be giving this location another try the next time we are in the area! Thank you CW!

Above and beyond! We were treated with the highest respect and service. My wife and I booked through Hilton's national phone service and they described a different room than what was actually here ("King Suite with a view"). After we got our king suite we were not happy with the two views available 1. The alley 2. A window to a atrium where people could collect. We went down and talked to the staff and manager. Clint the manager took the time to listen to our concerns and quickly came up with another room. It had a great view and better privacy. Clint also treated us to drinks, appetizers, and gave us coupons for breakfast the next morning. We were overwhelmed with the genorosity! Thank you so much for a great stay!

It was a very nice stay. The rooms were clean and the overall atmosphere was very high end. It's so cool to walk through these old buildings and imagining the history the took place there. The location was perfect with several good places to eat and also a great area to just take a walk. Parking was convenient and only 1/2 block away. Plus we were greeted with champagne!

Very clean rooms and bathrooms. High ceilings… the inside of the lobby looks like it was an older building, but its been restored and is gorgeous. Super friendly staff as well. I would definitely stay here again.

My family stayed during Summerfest 2017 and had one of our best hotel stays! The entire staff was friendly and professional. Beautiful architecture and cool history behind the building. Newly remodeled/updated lounge and dining area. We would definitely return during another stay in Milwaukee.

Historic Milwaukee hotel punctuated with art deco-design and cool Great Northern train photography. Wonderful dining room with engaged and professional staff. Beautiful rooms with dramatic 12-ft ceilings. Valet parking. The new light rail line will pass right by the front doors of this hotel, making it convenient in the future but visited by construction in the short term. Current valet parking arrangements minimize the inconvenience. I've stayed here twice and would happily stay here again.

I contacted the Hilton Garden Inn the night before our stay and spoke to Natalie explaining that I was a light sleeper and needed a quiet room. Natalie picked a room for me and assured me it would fit my needs and would be ready when we arrived after a long day of college tours. Upon our arrival, Natalie was at the front desk and did not disappoint. She promptly checked us in, provided us with dinner suggestions and answers to all our questions! Our room was clean, comfy, quiet and the hotel was architecturally stunning! Later that night Natalie sent up chocolate covered strawberries and a fruit tray wishing us well on our college search! We definitely will stay at this hotel in the future for all of our college visits!

Amazing service, beautiful and convenient location. Will definitely stay again if in Milwaukee. Free cookies, cucumber water, awesome fun layout with retired vaults because it used to be a bank! Wedding was here while we stayed, also beautiful! We came to this hotel for a Bachelorette and they were more than accommodating with two adjoining rooms. We came back to our first night and a little treat awaited! Love this place! Immediately brought us more towels when needed as well! All around 5 out of 5, good job Hilton!

Gorgeous building, modern amenities in a historic setting. Loved the big floor to ceiling windows, great location and service. The staff is friendly and accommodating from the minute I stepped out of my car, the valet attendant wouldn't met me touch anything — he opened doors, loaded up my luggage.

Location was great to the venue of a wedding. Rooms looked clean and modern but also keeping the historic of the building. The atrium was very nice. The entire building had so much character.

The service was fantastic as was the staff. They gave us directions for places to park and eat, along with a special welcome gift upon our return to the room! The beds were comfortable and Wi-Fi was able for free in the room. The only minus, the room had no view, but that did not affect the trip. Top notch service, I would stay here again.

I am a frequent traveler, self proclaimed hotel snob, I have to say this is one of my most impressive hotel stays. The building and preserved antique interior is breathtaking, the hotel staff is outstanding, the rooms are clean and modern and great location, can't wait to come back. No disappointments.

Beautiful hotel but horrible service. We are using Hilton Garden Inn for our room block for our September wedding and it has been a horrible experience from the beginning. We couldn't imagine using another hotel, but are starting to think we should have. From the beginning the communication has been horrible. We would have to send several followup responses to get answers. It took a month and a half to get a contract and get it signed. We toured a room to use for the morning of and loved it, she stated it was open for our day so we wanted to book quickly. Well, by the time our contract was FINALLY sent, the room was booked. We are bringing several people to their hotel because the beauty and location of the hotel. I just hope that our guests have a better experience then we have. This will be the last time I use Hilton Garden Inn unless it goes up hill from here.

Hilton Garden Inn is a nice hotel, situated in an older and rehabilitated building. Has a nice old office look to it and its quiet. The room and furnishings are nice and comfy, and bed is comfortable. Space is nicely used in the room I stayed in. Bathrooms are functional albeit spartan. Location is quite good since its near quite a few restaurants, bars and clubs, and both the Amtrak and the Market are very close (2 blocks) for transportation and food. Service was decent, front desk is fairly friendly and helpful. Hint for valet parking ($27 a day, BTW), call the front desk and tell them to tell the valet folks to bring up your car. It'll take a few minutes for them to get to the car, warm it up, and drive to the front entrance on Broadway. Room service I cannot comment on since when I needed them, they were closed — at 9pm. Oh, the front desk does have a few snacks and drinks — not cheap but available in a pinch, and will put the bill on your room. Only problem I have with the hotel, and its not directly their fault, is that a nearby club plays loud music until 2-2:30am. It might help to get a room on the Broadway side of the property as I think it's 618 Live on Water St. The other side of the building. Other than the loud music, hotel is nice and location great.

This is an amazing place to stay. Modern amenities and very nice rooms in a historic building. It's amazing. We really enjoyed our stay here and plan to come back next time we're in town.

This hotel has provided me with one of the BEST experiences I have ever had at a Hilton property. The staff is very professional, courteous and attentive when it comes to providing a world class customer experience. I loved the King suite that they put me up in and the atmosphere. This is a one-of-a-kind hotel that you must stay at!

Great rooms with character & class. Some of the staff were a bit absentminded when we were booking blocks for our wedding, but in the end everything turned out great. Breakfast was surprisingly good!

Check in was fast and friendly. Check out and getting our car from the valet took longer than expected. The location of the hotel was outstanding. I would definitely stay there again.

This Hilton is nicer than the one that used to have the water park. They have some awesome rooms next to an old safe. Really nice and everything was very clean and well maintained. There was pretty inexpensive parking across the street. I will be certainly be staying here again.

Really a neat hotel that was a great restoration into a one of a kind architectural gem. Was a great price and super clean. Enjoyed the history and the location is in the heart of it all.

This is basically a brand new hotel in an 1875 building. It used to be an office building. There is a grand atrium and brass and tile staircase. The front desk is off to the side because the structure was not made as a hotel originally. The ceiling in my room was about 15 feet high. The bathroom fixtures are all new, pewter retro style. I only had one night there but it was pleasant.

This is a new hotel, just opened in Nov 2012, in downtown Milwaukee. Located on the corner of East Michigan Street and North Broadway, it's right next to all the attractions. I like the hotel also offered a bar and grille and a 24-hour convenience store inside. I recommend for others, and will stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Milwaukee Downtown again.
