Great staff, good room, and affordable.

We stayed there and front desk people seemed nice. Except the young lady behind the counter with black lipstick telling an elderly couple that rooms are full up do to a concert. Alot of metal heads live here. Is what the clerk said to her. I found her loud. But we proceeded to our room. Where I found dog food on the floor. Hair in the tub. We were only staying 1 night thank God. Only thing good was the shuttle bus to the concert.

Nice room. Decent staff. Not a bad place if you need a cheap clean room for the night but if you’re going to stay for a few days or couple weeks you’re better off finding another hotel. The drier took a few attempts (a dollar a try) to get my clothes dry and the Wi-Fi to get reports for work finished was awful. I had to sit in the lobby to get them done.

Good hotel for the family. Breakfast was good and staff was friendly!

Nice place made even better by the staff, saying the staff makes the business is definitely true here. Miranda and Krista (? ) were great. My family and I had several issues upon check in but these ladies were all stars and took care of us. I would say to this company, take care of those ladies!

Clean rooms. Older hotel but updated rooms. Very nice pool area and hot tub. Friendly staff. Great restaurant.

The receptionist zach was the most delightful and dashing young man I have ever seen.

Recent upgrades, nice rooms, really nice pool ablnd hot tub. Good variety at the continental breakfast. Would stay again.

Our stay at Econo Lodge in Brookings, SD was great! The room was very nice and updated with comfortable beds. The room and facility was clean and orderly. The pool and hottub were a lot of fun. The price for the service was outstanding.

We liked this hotel. It was close to Swiftel Center. Room was clean, not modern but it was very clean! Karoake people in the bar sucked and showed favoritism, but that isn’t on the hotel. Hotel staff was super nice!

I stayed here with my track team while attending a meet at SDSU and it was pretty awful. Not everyone's room was ready by the time we checked in. The beds had 1 sheet on them and several of the rooms smelled. Some rooms had this weird extra room that was so empty that there seemed to be no point for it. The breakfast was mediocre and they took too long to restore items. I will give them credit for letting breakfast stay open past the time it was supposed to end by. The free cookies in the lobby were delicious as well. A couple good things can't outweigh the bad here though.

Rooms are inexpensive. Tried calling front desk three times for service and got answering machine. Rooms were clean. Breakfast had outdated pastry, ran out of pancake batter, full trash bins and closed on Sat am at 9. That was odd. Appears as though some renovations are going on which is super necessary. Room doors need painting, vents need thorough cleaning. The separate baby pool and extra space in the pool area was nice for large groups. Probably be our first and last stay.

Rooms are ok the bar was helpful and nice but the girl working on 1-12-2018 and at 1 am on Sat the 13th 2018, who I believe is the same girl should be fired. I run a business and if she had the customer service she did, she would be gone. We came in and had to say I'm here to. Check in, and she still played on her phone, as my wife had to get her attention. Then, I sleep with a fan, so I called down there, and asked for a box fan, which even the shittiest hotel I've ever seen In hot springs South Dakota at the motel 8, brought me a fan. I've stayed in 30 plus hotels in my life and every single one has brought me one. Never been told. She told me we don't have a single fan in the whole place, as she sounded annoyed to. Help. As I'm writing this I almost want to leave cause customer service is very important to me. My wife is from brooking and we come and stay in hotels often. And will recommend every single person not to ever come here and will never stay here again. Dissapointed. Hard enough time with a funeral to be treated like garbage.

This hotel has been completely updated. The guest rooms are spacious and have been renovated. The restaurant has changed to "The Lodge, " and the food and service were great! This is a great value in Brookings! I highly recommend this hotel.

In the past years we have stayed at this hotel for convenience. The huge Supercross event is a huge money maker! The bar and grill closed at 10pm. The families would bring there hungry kids in and feed them and have cocktails and gather with other Supercross families. It was a time of get together and catch up! This year we had to Uber downtown for the adults to gather. Very inconvenient due having to find a sitter to join in the adults! There were families that would of gathered at the bar and grill but were not able to join since we had to go elsewhere for adult time! 2016 was a awesome year at this hotel and we were looking forward to another spectacular year at the hotel after the Supercross event wound down! That did not happen in 2017! Very inconvenient and the hotel was not ready for the large crowds!

The food at The Lodge was good. It was a dinner special, but the price was excellent and the food was delicious.

It was ok. Under renovation so will probably get better.

Newly remodled. Attached to a pretty nice bar called The Lodge. I gave it 4 stars because of the bar and newly remodled rooms. Also all the workers are great (Hotel and Bar). If you are visiting SDSU this place is a great place to stay. You wont be disappointed.

The room smelled mildewy due to the carpet by the outside door being soaked with water. The towel rod in the bathroom was not secured to the wall cuz the lil screw was not tightened. Other than that, the room was fine.

I got a room here at a great price. The room was clean and well maintained, especially for the price. It's near the SDSU campus and easy to find. The complimentary breakfast was pretty standard. I'll be honest, the attached food place (I hesitate to call it a restaurant) is in need of improvement. Big time. But they were friendly and accommodating. The food was decent, but limited in selection and the bar was kinda sad. The staff in the bar/food place seemed unfamiliar with just about everything.

Hotel is clean, staff was awesome! I needed extra shampoo, cream rinse and coffee, along with a tooth paste, and the young man got it, bagged it and was so sweet. (I have very long hair, so one bottle was not enough, he joked with me about how it might be a little difficult). The bed was amazingly comfortable. Room was large. Great stay!

A nice room for a decent price. Its an older motel so its not the cleanest or the fanciest, however, it wasn't dirty, the bed was comfortable, no bugs of any variety, the staff is very pleasant, its quite affordable and there's plenty of parking if you have a camper or trailer of some sort.

Room was dirty with food and beer caps on floor. Doors from outside were not secured with room access key so anyone could come into hotel. Paint was peeling. Chairs were dirty. Was booked as poolside and It was not. Called front desk and they moved me to a suite which wasn't much better. I travel alone a lot and have never felt so uncomfortable in a hotel. I just left and stayed elsewhere. Money back would have been nice. Will never stay or recommend again.

This is a great bargain for the price. The rooms have been recently remodeled. They are nice and clean. The beds were comfortable. It was also quiet.

The staff is friendly and accommodating. They are very welcoming and positive. They have coloring sheets and colors for children at check-in, they have fresh coffee and cookies available in the lobby at 3pm. The staff quickly responds to guest requests. The rooms are clean. They have an amazing restaurant. The pool and hot tub are clean and inviting.

Hopefully will be much better once they're done remodeling… The room I'm in has new carpeting… But definitely could use a bathroom remodel… Strawberry margaritas for $11… That's ridiculous… In the Brookfield Wisconsin area at Bullwinkle's… I can get a pitcher of strawberry margarita for $11… that's 2.5 drinks… The salad, if you can call it that… Was the smallest salad I have ever seen! … And the prime rib was cold… So I'm being generous giving it three stars.

Surprised that the rooms had hardwood floors. Decent restaurant attached to hotel. Room heaters were pretty noisy, though.

The Econo Lodge was a perfectly fine hotel. The main area was nice, and the rooms were adequate.

Decent place to say. Wasn't here long, slept like a baby. Only complaint is there is no construction room rate.

Stayed here for two days. Rooms are fairly nice. The shower was not the best as the water did not stay warm and the shower head had no adjustable settings. Also the shower seemed to be stained from mold in between tiles.

The staff is very pleasant and the rooms are clean. Very economical place to stay with a great location.

Don't even waste your time calling this place. After answering & me asking for availability on certain dates, the girl told me to "hold on" and proceeded to set the phone down for 7 minutes WITHOUT placing me on hold or muting the phone. Then she comes back to say "are you still there? " I responded "yes" & was told to "hold on" again, where she placed the phone down (without placing me on hold) for another 3 minutes. She then gets back on the phone stating "okay so you were looking for _____" I replied "yes" and she proceeded to say "yeah, I know we are booked that day". May have been lovely to let a customer know that prior to keeping them sitting on the phone on a desk for 10 minutes while you talked to another customer in the lobby. Maybe try using the "hold" button as well. Clearly customer service & hospitality are NOT their specialty. & I am not just disgruntled because they didn't have a room available. I actually had great customer service experiences with the other 7 hotels I called that stated they don't have a room for my date that is TWO and half months away! Like I stated, don't even waste your time with this one.

Going thru renovation, and updating rooms. Beds were comfortable, room was ice cold (perfect for how hot it was). Great pool for the kids (deep-mine are older). Bathrooms are older, but worked, so no complaints). Only negative, apparently they had continental breakfast, which wasn't advertised. Otherwise I'd give five stars.

We have a nice room. A bit out dated, but it's currently under construction.

This motel is a gem! I stay here every year on a trip to north Dakota. Another chai has taken over and they are in the process of renovating. My room had been redone — it had new everthing! the restaurant wasn't open but should be soon. They served a continental breakfast which was nice. I always enjoy the desk clerks — usually a sweet young just plain nice girl. Also it is pet friendly and the rooms are always so quiet! A+ A+ A+ A+ A+

Clean room. Hotel was under renovation, but disturbance was minimal. Food at hotel restaurant was great.

DO NOT STAY HERE! They randomly charge your credit card with no authorization for random amounts. The female at the desk is rude, rufuses to let me speak to the manager, and hung up on me. They are denying any charges even with proof from the bank. They have charged $750 on our cc in 3 days when NOTHING should have been charged at all. They have emptied our bank account!

Econo lodge is what it's name means, an economy lodging, don't expect anything fancy and the rooms are not really clean, located close to the interstate and places to eat like Culver's is nice but if given an option of for example the days in across the street, I would definitely stay there.

Not as bad as some said. It was clean, but dated. Hallways stunk a little. For $59 a night including tax, it's appropriate.

Room smelled like sewer. The whole place "seemed" dirty. Did sleep well though. Wife came out like a bandit in their two little casinos!

VERY DISSAPOINTED IN THIS MOTEL… they said it was a nonsmoking room and even had no smoking sign on door… stunk like smoke and found a dirty ashtray and lighter under the bed… then when I complained about it she laughed me off saying sorry some guest must have smoked in there, well the room was smoked in more than once and the cleaning crew would have been able to cover up a one time smell. They didn't even bother to try and cover up any smoke smells in there… DISGUSTING!

Rude lady check in. Refrigerator did not work in my room said they would fix never did stayed 2 weeks.
