The Lazy Monkey Hostel & Apartments Hostel

Nice rooms and Beds. Very friendly owner and a sociable place. Had a car parking too. Only downside is that its located little far from the center. Not much eating options close by.

Great hostel outside of Zadar — it's super social and you'll meet plenty of amazing people. Only downside is that two of the bigger dorm rooms are right off of reception and the main common area — so despite the signs saying to limit noise after 10:30p — it will be very loud if you're in one of those rooms.

I had a delicious burger for a super fair price and met some nice new people there. The staff is super relaxed and friendly af. The only problem I got is… the name is at the wrong place here. This hostel is everything else but lazy. That's fine and fun — most of the time at least. Unfortunately the rooms are super small and have thin walls. At 2 a. M. We got woken up from our sweet cosy sleep by a pathetic argument of two young Americans. She felt disrespected because of him checking out other girls all the time — screaming that out into the night. Well, we couldn't believe how f-ing disrespectful SHE was going on with this for 1 hour at least (we did not go out saying something, because we figured they — especially she — will realise her partisan behaviour). Unfortunately also nobody from the staff came and said something either. I ain't no psychologist, but could definitely provide some relationship advise after that damn night. He lost the discussion, by evading to the super weak argument of "Well, then don't let men talk to you anymore?! ". I know — It was embarrassing! (I hope you two are reading this, YES I mean you! Just f-ing separate for pete's sake) Next night it felt like the new guests ripped the damn building apart only by moving in. Congratulations! So overall I feel a little bad when giving only 3 stars based on this short personal experience — which the staff and the hostel itself cannot not really held responsible for.

Fantastic hostel to meet fellow travellers. The staff is very helpful and they organise trips and events that everyone can attend. There are very comfortable common areas and there even is a bar. So it's a great and fun place. Rooms are also well equipped, there is air conditioning and the bathrooms are being cleaned every day. The only thing is that the walls are very thin and if you have problems falling asleep, you should bring ear plugs. But other than that it's a great place to spend time.

Lazy monkey and it's sister hostel the Drunken Monkey have the best atmosphere for meeting other people that I have ever experienced. If you ever find yourself in Zadar I highly recommend you stay here if you look for a sense of community in a hostel.

Lazy Monkey has been one of my favorite hostels to stay in; I even extended my stay a week beyond my original booking! I'll definitely be back for more BBQs and hammock sessions. The staff and ownership is incredible, the facilities are really clean and good quality and the atmosphere at the Lazy Monkey and Drunken Monkey are social, chill and very friendly. Great vibes all around!

It's fantastic how everyone seemed to be part of a family and they make sure that their hosts are very well treated and even take part in informal activities with us! Lovely vibe.

One of the best hostels I have ever visited and I've been to many in Latin America and Europe. I arrived late and could not inform them ahead of time when I would be arriving yet they waited for me to arrive and once there they treated us very kindly. They provided me with a usefull map that could get me through the city. The accomodation was very great, the hostel in good shape and very beautiful. I would definitly recomend this hostel to others, plus i'll be coming back when ever I visit Zadar again.

Definitely one of hostels that will provide a great and unique stay. The staff is friendly and will no hesitate to help you. Facilities on great conditions, with events offered almost daily and pretty close to key locations in Zadar.

My friends and I booked this place after hearing great reviews. The place is a hacienda style hostel. We met great people there! And we were happy with our stay here. It's a total backpackers' hostel. Our only problem was that it could have been a bit more cleaner, especially the bathrooms.

The best hostel by far, if you're ever at Zadar that's the place to be, amazing people, amazing staff! Tnx for everything! Love you guys!

Wonderfull place to stay. Felt very welcomed by Chris the owner. And looked after by Boris on reception who sorted out all our needs and gave us great information about places in the old city to try. Being in our late 40's we thought we might of felt a little out of place, But far from it we were made welcome and everyone couldn't do enough for us.

Staff & facilities were great, my dorm room (8 bed mixed dorm w/en suite) was outside in what I'm pretty certain was a renovated shipping container, the lockers aren't big enough to fit even a backpack, so thankfully location seems safe/secure because your stuff can't be locked up, that aside it was the nicest shipping container I've ever been in. Location is 25-30 walk from both Old Town & Ferry.

26 year old male. I've been all over Europe. 10 countries and 13 different hostels. This one is by FAR the best. The location, the vibe, the employees, everything was beyond our expectations. Clean rooms, clean bathrooms, huge kitchen and even a bbq. Grocery store 5 minutes to the right and ten minutes to the left. Oh yeah, it's also minutes from beach! You can even catch a cheap ferry to the neighboring island and hike up for a stunning view. I can't say enough good things about this place. If youre in the area id 100% stay here. Very relaxing place to spend time. It's easy to find the day getting away from you as you lounge around in the front sitting area.

It's a nice hostel really near the main bus station, approximately 7-10 minutes away from the cliffs/beach and around 15min to Zadar's old town. The hostel itself is clean, the staff REALLY friendly and open minded, the kitchen was huge (because of the building is a former restaurant), there are plenty of services and activities, from renting a beach towel to organized transfers to the nearest national parks, evening group activities and of course relaxing, chilled music at the pretty yard and terraces. For backpackers it's a great place to stay.

Very relaxed place with nice facilities and staff, just around the corner from some quiet beaches and a grocery store. Nice kitchen and good security, I would definitely stay here again.

Staff universally rude, had my phone robbed from my room and no one really cared.

Where to start… Simply put, this place is amazing, it quickly became home away from home. The staff are the nicest people you'll ever come across, the facilities are second to none. Great if you want to party or just relax. The location is perfect, a short walk to the sea and a nice stroll to the waterfront into the old town. One of the best hostels and areas I've stayed in. Thanks for making our stay one to remember.

Stayed at the Lazy Monkey for almost a week while we checked out the local area. The hostel had a great vibe and the staff were super-friendly and very happy to share their local knowledge. Clean, comfortable and definitely a highlight of our time in Croatia.

We absolutely loved our stay here at the Lazy. The staff was awesome and down to party! We met great people there and traveled on some excursions together around the islands. I recommend you do the same because coming back to the lazy's awesome patio with a couple of friends at night really makes the experience there that much better! Book this place you won't regret it!
