I have always had a pleasant stay at the Super 8 off of Mount Rushmore in Rapid City. All of the front desk staff are courteous and professional. I would like to commend the swing shift representative, Justin in particular. He is one of those rare workers who has the ability, conscientiousness, and compassion to be very good at a job that requires patience, empathy, and a healthy sense of humor! Thank you, Justin!

If I could give a 1 star I would! BEWARE BED BUGS! I woke up the next morning and had welts all over my body. I didn't have them before then. The room had mold, smells horrible. Carpets looks like someone was killed and never cleaned up the mess I would never stay there ever again. Crack heads staying there. The fat guy at the front desk the works over night, I went to get a small bowl dry cereal and he yelled at me.

Checked in and the room wasnt even big enough for four adults. Then I requested a refrigerator and microwave and didn't get any. The room had a musty smell. On the first night we got flooded out from the people upstairs. The breakfast is horrible. Frozen waffles, toast and cereals. Good thing McDonald's is across the street. One of the worst super 8's I've stayed at. Couldn't even use me rewards. This is just a basic hotel with nothing to offer.

The Staff was very friendly. The variety in the rooms was old and looked dirty. There were no toiletries available including hand washing soap for the bathroom sink. I understand the hotel was rather full, but parking was terrible. The few spots available were difficult to pull into.

Decent accommodation for the rate but rooms were dark and dingy also do not recommend for those with mobility issues.

Not the best hotel. Not very clean, but the price was cheap and the staff were nice. But you always get what you pay for. Having been a formerly manager of a Comfort Inn, I may be a little pickier.

Room was nice. I didn't quite like the location. Service is pretty good.

Rooms smelled a bit. Had to open the windows for a while. But otherwise it was good. Value for money.

By far the worst hotel in Rapid City. Housekeeping does a terrible job cleaning the rooms. I’ve stayed in 2 separate rooms and both rooms had constant water dripping in the shower. The 2nd room I stayed in, there was damage to the walls from where people have been partying too hard or were being careless. Out of the 3 weeks I stayed at this hotel, there were maybe 3 days I did not smell people smoking pot. The smell of pot would be so strong that I had to keep my room window open all the way with the fan going just to get some relief to be able to sleep. Hotel staff refuses to do anything about people smoking in the rooms. The other people staying at this hotel are nosy as hell. Had one person ask about my dash cam in my car since I parked my car to it can see people driving by and catch anyone trying to run off if they hit my car. All this while she was smoking her cig or joint right inside her room. She thought I was a cop. Also people would drink alcohol and leave huge piles of cans right outside the doors and even on the stairs inside! The breakfast they provide here is minimal. Microwaveable eggo waffles, hostess doughnuts, and only 2 kinda of cereal. The only decent thing about this hotel was that the beds were at least comfortable and the bedsheets were clean. Everything else has severe dust. Last but not least — the a/c units in the room don’t work worth a damn. Plus hotel staff makes no attempt to even check or clean the a/c filters.

It was nice quiet and clean. The front desk staff could of been a little nicer and not seem as put out when you are trying to call your room.

Very clean & breakfast in the morning's is on point. Nice front desk worker. I like it. In going to come again.

Clean rooms but the other guests were pretty loud. Overall good price for what you get.

It's very nice and cozy beds are really comfortable!

I've seen better, but I've seen MUCH worse. Room was semi-clean, but worn and tattered. Staff was friendly enough, but check-in was slow. This place seemed to have a LOT of people coming and going until very late at night apparently because of some gambling establishments in the immediate area. Some guests I ran into I wouldn't trust around my kids, so be advised parents.

It's okay. Nice that the TV doesn't have the HDMI locked. Found some nail clippings but eh.

Well maintained, but very old motel. Very clean and inexpensive too. If you don't mind driving down town and want to save money, this is the one.

DO NOT stay at this hotel. I live across the street, and I woke up to the owner of the hotel kicking my door down because he had a problem with something. He did not try to talk to me in a civil manner at all. I was so dumbfounded at how disrespectful he was. My boyfriend even had to talk to him because he would not leave our porch until his extremely rude rant was over with. He also threatened to call the cops on us, all over one little thing that bothered him that would have been a quick, simple conversation. To conclude, I would advise anyone to steer clear of this hotel. If the owner is this disrespectful and rude, I can only imagine what kind of staff he hires. Save yourself the worry and stay elsewhere.

Room was clean and fresh, nicely furnished, big TV, fresh towels and soap, clean shower. Light breakfast is available. Lobby and hallway can use a refresher, but overall great experience.

First things first, staff is outstanding! And their policy towards pets is to notch! Everything else though… Rooms are poorly designed. No room to move around between beds and desk. Rooms are not clean, bathroom is from the 70s. Mattresses are probably filled with newspaper… even my 20 pound dog developed scoliosis from sleeping on it… Breakfast might as well be from the local grade school, Pb and j, cereal, and eggowaffles. It's a 20 dollar truck stop motel masquerading around as a 100 dollar hotel.

Our room was nothing like in the photos on website. It had partial upgrades to the room — — like a new sink, but old yellow toilet & matching tub. Smelled like smoke, even though it was a non-smoking room. Breakfast is great if you are needing to carb-load for the day, plenty of breads, muffins, waffles, cereal, and donuts. Peanut butter & yogurts are available for protein.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. The whole building smelled of mildew, cigarettes and nastiness. Hallways were dusty and dirty with garbage and cigarette butts against the walls. Walked into the room and immediately smelled urine and cigarette smoke. Looked at the beds and found tons of human hairs. Head and pubic. Beds were stained, like, noticeably both on the sheets and comforter. We literally walked in and walked back out in less than 10 minutes. Worst hotel I've ever been to.

Not so good service. Bugs in the tub. Stains everywhere.

Giving this place 1 star is being generous. Other than the front area, nothing in this entire place has been updated in at least 20 years. The breakfast is nothing more than store bought mini donuts and coffee and juice. No fridge or micro in the rooms, not even a note pad. The parking lot is a disaster and the building has parts like the rain gutters falling off. The hallways smell and look like something out of a 1970's movie. For $110 a night, you'd expect better. Not worth even 1/2 of that. Never again.

Hallways are rundown with dirty carpet and fixtures. Complimentary breakfast is sparse, few healthy choices (no eggs provided or ran out). Rooms are clean, beds comfortable, AC works well, only 2 pillows per bed. Water pressure unsatisfactory. However, for the price the stay was pleasant enough.

Smells moldy. Mediocre breakfast. No amenities. Staff is held up and will make sure you get what is expected. Parking fills up fast.

Hotel was decent, but at the price the room could have been a bit cleaner. The aircondition was working, but made too much noise to be around when in the room. Breakfast was fairly standard.

Really bad almost unusable Wi-Fi. The breakfast options were sparse. The walls were so thin that when the occupant next door moved on their bed it would shake the headboad of my bed.
