My wife and two children (11 and 13 yrs) stayed here three days in mid-July 2018 as we used Rapid City for our hub in exploring Mt Rushmore, Custer State Park, Black Hills, Bear Country, Deadwood, etc. The place is clean and the breakfast was a nice start to our day. The kids also liked making their own waffles. We found the staff quite helpful, especially when my room key became inoperable. An easy fix. All said, the room was nothing elaborate by any means, but it served our needs just fine. Also, as others have probably mentioned, the location of the hotel is good for finding other places to eat (right next to a Ruby Tuesday) and plenty of restaurants nearby. If we're ever back to Rapid City, we'd likely stay here again. Much thanks to the staff for making our stay in SD a memorable one. ~Steve S. Lincoln, NE.

Great hotel and very friendly staff! Manager Steve was great and we were able to check in early. We stayed for 3 nights. Spacious clean rooms, nice pool and patio area, good breakfast. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

This is our 6th Comfort Inn stay on a cross-country trip. This is the best one by far! Rooms were clean, shower and shower water were good quality, and breakfast was yum-o! Bacon and waffles with strawberry sauce were a hit! Evening check in staff were so polite and accommodating. Way to go.

Rooms are clean, hotel is located in a great place close to dining and shopping. Only complaint I have is when a paying customer suggests an improvement for guest courtesy, the General Manager Steve should know better than to state "Well we have a lot of guests here who need our attention… " Anyone who works in hospitality knows that is the LAST thing you say to a guest, as this insinuates that the guest standing before you is an inconvenience and not valued as highly as others. I'm a nurse and I would NEVER tell someone "We have a lot of patients so your needs/requests will not be met/addressed. " (The scenario was that I was locked out of my room because their key card stopped working and I had my hands full of belongings plus two exhausted and cranky kids who were wet/cold from the pool, and a senior gentleman who is undergoing cancer treatment and obviously worn down. I called the front desk from my cellphone to request that a working card be brought to our floor to allow us access to our room versus me travel all the way back down leaving everyone and thing in the hallway and then traveling back up to the room. I'm sure the other guests staying on our floor would have appreciated having my cranky kids in the hallway for the shorter duration as well. By the way, this was 10 o'clock at night and when I got down to the lobby there was the General Manager Steve and another front desk associate standing there without any other guests needing assistance.

Great room. The breakfast was good too. Lemon water and cookies in the lobby spells awesome when you come to the hotel at the end of the day! Really nice and helpful people too!

Great staff! So helpful, friendly and kind! Nice pool. We were pleased with the rooms. I would absolutely stay there again and I recommend it. Great for kids and adults.

Love the location in town. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Just wished they had a better breakfast. Eggs and sausage was horrible.

The king suite room is well sized. The wet bar has a mini fridge which works well for left overs. The bed was very comfortable. If you need a firm pillow, I suggest bringing your own. I liked how soft the pillows were. When we checked in, the front desk attendant seemed preoccupied with getting off shift, but happy to help us and covered where everything was in the hotel. Breakfast is a standard continental breakfast. In the attempt to make the room look nicer, functionality of the seating seems to have been sacrificed. Overall, I would suggest it because the beds are good and the location is convenient for tourist activities by Rushmore or visiting people in Rapid City.

After a very long travel day, I settled into bed about 1:00 am. Shortly thereafter, a loud vibration started in the room. I thought it would stop, but it didn't. I got out of bed, and thought the refrigerator was the source, but it wasn't. I called the front desk and reported the noise, and was informed several people had called about it; they suspected another guest had left their jacuzzi tub running. At about 3:30, I went to the front desk and requested a room change. That was not possible, as they were completely full. The noise finally quit at about 4:30 am, but at that point, sleep was out of the question. When I checked out, I again complained, and the person could care less.

It was good and clean, and the breakfast wasn't bad I just wish there was more variety. The room was nice and the price was good.

This place is super. The staff was awesome and very thoughtful. The breakfast was well organized and yummy.

My husband and I went and stayed in the jacuzzi suite. The people working the front desk went above and beyond when fulfilling our needs or answering questions. The room was very clean and organized! Loved staying there and have stayed there a few times and will definitely go back!

Was great first stay and the breakfast area is huge. The front desk invited us back if we didn't make it out of town due to the weather.

Great hotel. Pool and fitness room are nice size. Handicap rooms are very comfortable.

The rooms & common areas were clean & every employee we encountered was very helpful & friendly. Even thoe we didn't have a chance to get in the pool or hot tub, they both were clean & the area around the pool organized & stocked with pool towels. The complimentary breakfast was nice, better than a lot Iv seen & they stocked it throughout the morning. The only complaint we have is when you flush the toilet it sounds like a jet taking off which in my opinion is extreme and unnecessary. We were startled awake all night, EVERY time one of the neighbors around us flushed. That being said, I would stay there anytime I find myself needing or wanting to stay in the Rapid City South Dakota area.

Kudos to the staff at this hotel. They were very friendly and attended to all of our needs during our stay. Rooms were quiet and clean. Breakfast was more than adequate with lots of choices. We spent three nights here and I’d return again in a heartbeat!

We had reservations for 3 day's but we needed more time because of medical appointments there was no problem staying longer. The rooms were very good Their breakfast was excellent if we come back we will stay here for sure.

Our room had a Jacuzzi. Loved it. This hotel has a large breakfast room as well as a laundry room.

Comfort Inns are wonderful and this one has been great to us. Our car broke down in Rapid City and where in a day to day situation. The staff worked with us on reservations and were very understanding. Helped so much to relieve some of the stress. Thank you.

My girlfriend and myself were traveling through South Dakota and our schedule changed at the last minute. We found ourselves in Rapid City sooner than we had expected and called this Comfort Inn. I was fortunate enough to speak with Angel! And what an Angel she was! She took care of our every need and put us in a great room at the last minute! (with two luggage racks as I requested) Then the next morning we were heading to the Badlands and Angel took the time to tell us how to get the most out of our trip there. We had a restful night in a beautiful room, delicious breakfast and a terrific trip and sightseeing journey thanks to Angel! Great Job! Would definitely stay here again!

Rooms were a bit tired. Our "suite" with two "king size beds" was only one room with queen beds. TV was smallish. Toilets flushed very aggressively — like an airplane lavatory. Everything was very clean. The beds were reasonably comfortable but the pillows were outstanding with various firmness levels provided. Pool (indoor only) is very blah, with nothing for kids. Pool ranged from 3.5 feet to 5.5 feet in depth. Hot tub water was tepid and the jets were very weak. If the sauna was working, it was heating too slowly to notice. Breakfast buffet was okay: had waffle maker, but no meat of any kind. They did have Tabasco packets, which made the eggs and potatoes tolerable. Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Check out time is 11:00, but when asked about a late checkout, the desk attendant simple asked how late I wanted to stay. I asked for 12:30 and she said "no problem. "

We stay here every year for our family vacation. Friendly staff, great rooms and nicely located!

Comfort Inn with a great hotel in the middle of Rapid City. I love the breakfast and the large indoor pool. It was a good value as well for a family. We had to double queen size beds that were very clean. The bathroom could have been a little larger but it was very clean. The beds were a little soft and springy but that is to be expected for hotel. If we are back in Rapid City, we would definitely stay at Comfort Inn & Suites again.

The rooms are nice, and they hotel is located about 30 minutes away from Mount Rushmore. They do not put extra blankets in rooms by default, so if you happen to need to use the pull out couch you need to ask for a blanket. The breakfast is advertised as 6am-9:30am but upon getting down there at 9am on Monday, July 3 they were out of EVERYTHING. My wife inquired about yogurts and they were out. I went and asked at front desk to confirm breakfast was until 9:30 and they agreed. I said well you are out of everything. She did say they were busy. She did not get any yogurts but did convince other staff to restock some things. To top it off the note on the pool hall said "closed until further notice". This is certainly not worth $200/night that we paid for a four night stay. I would not recommend this place to others.

No exhaust fan in bathroom and plug in sink didn't work. Noisy above us.

We also booked early for a low cost. Weren't notified that our reservation had been cancelled until we arrived and tried to check in. Manager was of no help finding us a room anywhere, only an offer for a smaller room the next night for a much higher rate. Big scam and very poor way to treat people. Very disappointed that a hotel like that would ruin someone's vacation just to try to get more money.

Beware — hotel canceled long standing reservation at low rate but found us a room at the same hotel for lots and lots more money. Pricing Scam it seems and very poor customer service.

Very comfortable rooms. Staff really nice. Could use a fridge in the room. Other then that I have no complaints.

The rooms were very nice and clean, our room didn't have a fridge so we had to throw some food away or eat it. But the beds made up for it with their comfortableness.

Large rooms. Maintained relatively well. Wall paper is peeling off near front desk but overall, great hotel for the money.

Night supervisor made a great first impression of this Comfort Inn & Suites. He was so attentive, quick with service, polite, and personable. The room and pool were clean. The inn met my family of six needs for a overnight stay.

I need a place to stay just for the night. There app is very easy to use found me a nice place for a nice price in a jiffy. The place is very clean and the extra pillows I requested is ready.

OK hotel; only problem was the lack of Wi-Fi connectivity in my business suite on the third floor. Management later told me via email that they are aware of these difficulties. However the on-duty staff apparantly was not aware of this — played dumb, and got annoyed and unfriendly when confronted with the issue.

Nice room, good breakfast, pool/spa area was very nice too. My only complaint is that each day/night I could hear the people next to me. I'm talking, I could hear their conversations clearly through the walla, with a fan on. It was disappointing and annoying.
