Review of Super 8 2*

By far the worst hotel in Rapid City. Housekeeping does a terrible job cleaning the rooms. I’ve stayed in 2 separate rooms and both rooms had constant water dripping in the shower. The 2nd room I stayed in, there was damage to the walls from where people have been partying too hard or were being careless. Out of the 3 weeks I stayed at this hotel, there were maybe 3 days I did not smell people smoking pot. The smell of pot would be so strong that I had to keep my room window open all the way with the fan going just to get some relief to be able to sleep. Hotel staff refuses to do anything about people smoking in the rooms. The other people staying at this hotel are nosy as hell. Had one person ask about my dash cam in my car since I parked my car to it can see people driving by and catch anyone trying to run off if they hit my car. All this while she was smoking her cig or joint right inside her room. She thought I was a cop. Also people would drink alcohol and leave huge piles of cans right outside the doors and even on the stairs inside! The breakfast they provide here is minimal. Microwaveable eggo waffles, hostess doughnuts, and only 2 kinda of cereal. The only decent thing about this hotel was that the beds were at least comfortable and the bedsheets were clean. Everything else has severe dust. Last but not least — the a/c units in the room don’t work worth a damn. Plus hotel staff makes no attempt to even check or clean the a/c filters. Both rooms I was in, you couldn’t even get water to pass through the filter because it was so clogged up with dust and even green mold! If you stay here be aware. It’s a decent price but the super 8 on the other side of town is way better in comparison, just a slight price difference.
