Front desk wasn’t friendly — had attitudes. Room smelled like stale cigarettes, air conditioning didn’t work — room was so humid the windows literally had water on them. Shower had mold. This wasn’t what you would expect from a Sheraton. We got stuck in Detroit and my husband thought he would upgrade to a Sheraton — waste of money.

Our room had an amazing view of planes coming in for a landing right outside our window. If you like planes or have little kids that love planes I highly recommend this hotel.

Awesome covid measures in place and the facilities are very clean. The staff provided excellent customer service and the 24 hour shuttle service is a plus.

Very clean hotel staff was very friendly also the bathroom was very nice and clean.! Will for sure be back to stay again.

I love this place I've been coming here since I was a little girl it is always so clean the beds are so comfortable I love the glass ceiling in the balcony rooms that look over the pool and the hot tub the staff are very friendly.

Being a Sheraton I expected so much more. For what I paid during my stay. I expected better service and atmosphere. 1. Not in all places but some places in the hotel. It felt like it was under construction. Very plain and not inviting like a Sheraton I'm use to. 2. Very noisy rooms and loud noises at quiet hours. 3. The bathrooms fan didn't work which is a must for me. I don't like getting out of the shower and feeling like I'm in a sauna. 4. My biggest problem. The housekeeping. I had to complain several, several times. My room needed to be cleaned and serviced but it was never done. My garbage was overflowed for two days. Unacceptable. A disappointing stay.
It got worse! You would think of allll I dealt with up to now. My room was still not clean and prepared and had to wait another hour to get it where it should be. THEN while waiting for my room to be cleaned. I sit back in their lounge chairs and the chair broke and I fell backwards landing on my back. Which I have existing back problems. I was fine when it happened but now it's hurting again. THEN you would think I should get 5 🌟 service for the remaining of my stay but no. They put some rowdy juveniles next to my room and they were loud, obscene and banging hard on someone's door all night! I had a flight early next morning and myself and my son didn't get a good night's sleep. I told the front desk this week stay was the worse I encountered for a hotel stay for a long time.

The best hotel here… and I've checked them. All for the price Sheraton is the nicer one love this place. Staff is very kind n they work with their customers make us feel welcome, ill never stay no where els. Im here every weekend thank you Sheraton Detroit metro.

Attended a weekend conference at this hotel but did not stay overnight there. The staff serving us food were extremely friendly and professional. Kudos to them. It's a nice facility also.

The hotel and rooms are just very outdated for the price. Our room had wallpaper coming off in the bathroom. Old dingy artwork in the room. The carpet looked dirty and old. The beds were comfortable. We had to ask for our room to be cleaned because we went almost 2 days before it got cleaned and that was after we asked. Overall, just pricey for what you get! I’ve stayed at much nicer and more updated hotels for the same amount of money! Overall, very disappointed. The pictures aren’t really representative of how dated this place is. Came here because I was taking a course in Detroit and it was being held at the hotel. We had our Starbucks coffee, some of our course supplies and snacks stolen from the conference room. If I could get some money back I would certainly try. I feel this has not been worth what I paid!

This hotel is really bad, very noisy! Trash people! They should rename Motel 6

Very nice hotel, staff was incredibly friendly, amenities are great and the price is even better! The only downfall was the location of the hotel. Not exactly the best area but not the worst either.

Fantastic beds. The most comfortable I've slept on in a hotel. Friendly staff. We we're short a couple of quarters for a soda and a super sweet cleaning lady gave it to us from her own pocket.

Standard airport area hotel. This has been around a while and hasn't changed a bit since it opened. It's well maintained, generic, clean, bland, safe and mid-scale but also reliable. From the inside you wouldn't be able to look around and determine if you were in Detroit, El Paso or Fort Wayne. The lobby and rooms are nice and the climate control in the rooms is good. The bathrooms are on the small side for a hotel that's this nice, but they're serviceable.

Five stars! Besides the killer huge flying cockroach that basically attacked me in the public bathroom stalls on main floor by the pool! Staff immediately addressed it, apologized, and gave me and my guest a free 'breakfast in bed' for the two of us :) FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY. Beautiful hotel.

This was honestly one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in. We were there for an event and our room had no AC for the first two nights and minimal AC for the last two nights. I went to the front desk to let them know our AC wasn't working and the gentleman told me I had to go back up to my room and call the front desk to report this issue. My husband called and asked for a fan, he was told they would have to send up maintenance and then we would have to request the fan from them… maintenance never showed! We didn't have any towels in our room when housekeeping came in a cleaned so had to call down for those every morning. On one occassion the guy at the front desk told me I would need to come and get them as he was by himself… I went down to get them and he sent someone up with the towels he told I had to come down to get. They close the pool at 9:00 for kids and let adults swim from 9-10. We attempted to eat our dinner in the lobby one evening and were told we would have to take our food up to our room. The front desk was horrible with every person we talked to giving us a different story with every person we talked to. We were offered no type of compensation at any point of our stay! Just a horrible hotel and would not recommend for anyone!

I loved the double room I was in. It was big and gorgeous with nice sheets and giant beds. The hotel in general was beautiful from the moment you step in the door. What a wonderful experience. I would visit a room here again.

The staff has been amazing. When I first arrived the AC in our room wasn't working very well, when I called the front desk they put in a request and maintenance was right up to fix it and bring us a fan. He was finished with everything in about 5 mins. We were even offered to change to a new room if the issue wasn't resolved, thankfully it was! I would definitely stay here again.

What a gem! I like Sheraton but this location takes the cake. Ann at the front desk was very sweet. Rooms are spacious and clean. The gym is super nice. Pool is not bad, but the hot tub needs work. Restaurant is okay, slightly over priced. Overall very satisfied with quality of hotel and room for price.

Good, but they don't recognized Starwood Preferred Guests in the normal ways (e. G. Complimentary in-room bottled water, etc. ). Great beds, the attitude of the guy at the front desk was interesting due to some issues with Marriott being the new owner. Food in the restaurant had generous portions and was good. Layout with the pool in the center was nice, but business people might not like the sound of children at play right outside their window.

Stayed for a quick overnight since we had a very early morning flight. Had a garden-level room that walked right out into the lounge/bar. We were nervous about the noise and light from the bar being we needed to go to sleep early, but it was actually not an issue at all. Room was adequate, bed was comfortable, and hotel shuttle was timely. We would stay here again.

Always superior staff! Clean rooms. Shuttle service. The restaurant down the street came and picked us up from there and took us to the restaurant and brought us back. I had a great experience.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, from check-in to the shuttle ride to the airport. The food in the bar was quite good for a hotel restaurant and I generally enjoyed the atmosphere (the pool is in the atrium so if there happens to be raucous children swimming, the noise can be distracting as the sound tends to echo. ) The room I stayed in was nicely appointed, spaciois and very clean. The two things that disappointed me a bit were the facts that the tub was very slow to drain and there were gaps around the entry door to the room, so noise in the hallway could filter though. Everything else about my stay, however was exemplary. I will definitely be returning on my next business trip.

The rooms are large and limited. The pool is fun for the kids.

Fantastic hotel… club level is where it's at. Free appetizer, free breakfast buffet… the pool is great, nice and warm and they have a hot tub. Front desk and employees at cultivate, the restaurant, are super friendly and made our stay so nice… princess treatment. Only downside were the hot tub was out of order 1 day, the bathroom sink drained slowly and I found a pair of socks behind the nightstand lamp. The service however will keep me coming back. We love the Sheraton!

Our first few stays was nice. This last stay was uncalled for. Went there and it wasn't sanitary enough. Room doors wouldn't lock and they have bed bugs. Management was notified. Stephanie portray a good image but she give poor service. They didn't follow up with our reports nor replace the belongings that we couldn't take back home with us. A pure disaster and horrible place to stay.

Wonderful rooms. All of the rooms have an inside balcony. Never seen that before. The bed was wonderful. Not fond of the pillows they were too soft, no support. They have a wonderful all you can eat breakfast buffet. The food stays hot, and coffee, water, and sevice keep coming. I want to go back there.

Just wow! The customer service here gets this place a10! If there was something that wasn't quite up to par the service was so good that I can't remember what it might have been. These people were very friendly and professional and I truly appreciate that someplace I would definitely visit again.

The Sheraton Detroit Metro Hotel Airport is in a very consistent location with access to some decent places to eat (walking distance). With an indoor swimming pool, good spacious clean rooms, a small bar downstairs, and everything you would need for getting prepped to fly out — it's a great choice for your last day in town or, if your destination isn't too far away, for your whole trip. The staff was friendly and helpful.

We had trouble with the key from the start he didn’t wanna open the door Michigan is open carry state and they told my husband that he could not carry his gun in there the pool closed at 10 from 9 to 10 was quiet time and they came in and rudely said if you’re under 18 get out people that the desk didn’t care it’s both advertisement saying that the pool is open to 10 for 9 to 10 quiet time nothing says 18 unless you look at the website I was there for my kids to go swimming The coffee pot in the room did not work the breakfast is way overpriced for three of us it was $50 I think that’s a little out rages for the type of food that they had I will never go back and nobody I know will ever go there!

Great location in comparison to airport, staff was amazing with exception of am shuttle driver, who was less than friendly or even helpful. If my entire visit was based on his attitude, I'd stay away. Thank goodness, front desk, concierge, lounge personnel were more than friendly and helpful. They made the stay great.

Front desk staff are very friendly. The beds are comfortable. Room was quiet and clean. Best part is they are dog friendly!

Nice large airport hotel. Guest room windows open onto a central atrium. Bar and restaurant on site. Room service 24 hours. Airport shuttle. Good experience overall.

Sam, the food manager was awesome. Suggested a really good meal and made my day with cupcakes with extreme kindness and professionalism. I'd stay here again based solely on him:-)

It is sufficient for one night when you are stuck in the Detroit airport. The check in was tortuously slow. The bar/grill was woefully understaffed given the number of stranded travelers. I can't give them a pass on that considering the only reason anyone stays at a hotel like this is because they are stuck there for the night. But the bathrooms were clean and the beds fine. So a confident Meh.

Hotel is nice and the staff are friendly. However, our experience was that the hotel was generally cold. The lobby and bar area was very cool and seemed there was a window open! My room heater also wasn't working properly and woke up with 66deg… with it set at 74. I notified the staff and they were prompt to get it looked at.

This was my third time staying at the Sheraton near the Detroit airport. It is an older hotel but well maintained. The shuttle runs every 20 minutes most of the day and every 15 minutes during the early morning rush. There are a few restaurants in easy walking distance. I highly recommend the Merriman Street Grill.

Excellent service and unbeatable facilities.

The hotel van driver was polite and helpful. The front desk staff was pleasant but could keep their political views to themselves since they were different than mine. The rooms were clean.

We had a pleasant stay with a mostly quiet night. The noise disturbance that did take place was handled by the staff. We enjoyed our stay.

Meh. The initial pool-chemical scent when entering the lobby was an immediate turn-off, but the front-desk staff were bright, friendly and engaging. Room was certainly passable, but could use some updating. Surprised by the lack of any sort of real work-area and NO easily accessible power outlets. The bright spot was the great food in the lobby bar! Very attentive, friendly waitstaff and super good pub-food. Meeting rooms were clean, bright and just the right temperature. Meeting room catering was really well executed (and pretty good food). Airport hotels are a tough category. For the price, these guys delivered a pretty good product.

Nice place to stay. Close to many activities and easy to get to downtown. Friendly staff. Nice pool facilities. Nice lobby bar area.

Expensive drinks, no happy hour, so-so service. Stopped in to kill time before picking someone up from airport. 1. Gin and tonic was $8 2. Wifi access for non-guest was a pain. (Had to get PW from front desk) 3. Changed waitresses mid-drink and had to cash out. I would've gotten another drink, but didn't want hassle of another bill. 4. Waitress disappeared for 10 minutes. Not recommended.

This is my second time staying at this hotel. The only bad thing I have to say is their airport shuttle is slow to pick you up. However, the food options nearby are very good. I highly recommend a Middle Eastern restaurant named Beirut, the food was fantastic. If you want big sandwiches and beer, the shuttle will take you to Airport Wheat & Rye.

This hotel needs a serious makeover. Carpets are dirty, the sink and bathtub in my room did not drain, breakfast buffet left a lot to be desired. Service in the restaurant was amateurish. Good price. Bed was very comfortable. BIG TV in the room.

If you don't sit at the bar directly in front of the employee, don't count on your food being served timely or your drink being refilled even though they have tables you can sit at to be served. When I asked for tea, the bar tender said that she has to go all the way in the back to get it and start some machine, it would take a while. I mean why have it on the menu of your employees are going to make it seem like they have to pick the tea leaves and go through a whole process to make your tea. Why do I need to know where you go to get the items from your menu? So when I said I would have a coke instead, she then said are you sure. I mean of you make it seem like you dont want to work today, I just would like something to drink. So I had to settle for a cold coke. The bar tender was extremely rude and when we asked if you have sauce for our chicken tenders, responded "You didnt specify, now I have to go to the back in the kitchen to get it! " First off she did not mention you could get sauce with the meal and it surely did not specify on the menu. Secondly, nobody deserves to be spoken to that way, customer service is not for her and if she doesn't want to do anything, why go in to work. She looked over and saw our drink glasses empty and never came over to refill them. I had to leave my table at least 5 times for refills. Completely disgusted at this employee and that the hotel would have someone like her work there.

Room was comfortable for the price. The club is surprisingly closed on the weekend. The overall feeling wasn't terrible, however it feels slightly dated and run down. The overall value was good compared with the hotel I was going to stay at.

This sheraton is terrible in term of quietness. Room divider is not sound proof and you can hear each other from next door. I had to move to another room in the middle of the night to get some sleep due to a night owl next room having his TV on a little loud. After I could not make a truce with him (he wanted war so I let him won), I called down to front desk and they moved us to a different room. Front desk is well aware of the problem. Stay here if you know your next room neighbor is quiet. If you get a hooligan, you will not be able to sleep. Front desk people are very nice. 5 stars. Hotel room, 0.5 star.

A very nice hotel. The beds were 5 stars. SO comfy! The customer service was very nice. Every thing you would expect from a Sheraton. But the rooms need updating. A little bit of mold in the corners. And not enough electrical sockets.

Beautiful hotel and a lovely room, comfy beds, clean. Only thing I could complain about was no frig in room. View from the balconey overlooking pool and lobby was great.

Spacious rooms. Overall clean room and a comfortable bed. My children liked the lighting in the lobby and also the elevators. However, the bathrooms are seriously dated and it is difficult to take a shower without making the floor wet. In addition, the customer service needs to be improved. Everyone from the housekeeping to the front desk does not provide quality service to the consumer. For example, simple requests like providing extra shampoo was a problem. Also note that microwaves and refrigerators not provided in rooms. We knew that rooms did not have them, but was misled into believing that it would be possible to get a refrigerator in our room before checking in. However, the hotel did help with allowing us to check out late, after we complained about services in the hotel. Nice place to stay, but beware that there are improvements to be made.

Awful… from the bar to the room. No housecleaning for three days. Bartenders are rude and make you wait, whether it's to order or to cash out. Asked for mayo, was told it was already on my burger. Had to ask three times for water. Complained to the front desk, was told the manager would call me in 15 minutes. Had to go down two hours later to ask for the manager. Stay away!

I was at the hotel for one night for a business conference. The food provided for the meetings was very good, especially for hotel catering. The location was good and the amenities were good. The biggest reason for four stars instead of five is these rooms in most Sheratons are a bit nicer. The bathroom was poorly lit and the work desk was small.

Nice and clean, spacious rooms. Very friendly staff. Hotel is outdated but well maintained.

Decent hotel. Close to the airport. Once inside the lobby is very nice. Rooms were pretty clean, but pretty outdated and basic for a 4 star hotel. No mini fridge didn't help either. Stayed at a Country Inn and Suites not too far from here that is a 3 star hotel and was way better. Also wasn't too far from the airport and there were restaurants and things to do down the road. Probably won't be coming back to this one, but worth the money to me.

Hotel is really nice rooms are very clean the food has been great. The staff of all been extremely helpful and friendly. Except for the fact that it's not near anything in Detroit I would stay here again.

Staff were friendly on check-in and such, and the room itself was clean and well maintained. Hotel itself is a bit dated, one of those indoor-balcony jobs built around an indoor pool courtyard, which I just associate with the 1980s family vacation. Hallway inexplicably smelt of BO.

I stay here as well as an air line commuter, 3-5 nights a month. The staff is great! A clean comfortable hotel, mostly quit and near plenty of restaurants. Yes, some of the bathrooms could be updated and some new fixtures etc. Never had more than a 30 minute wait for the van though it would be nice for more frequency to the airport but every 30 minutes is the norm for DTW hotels.

Location was great, food nice, restaurant was a bit unorganized service wise. Was forced to pay extra for a TV screen in conference even though I brought my own projector.

First of all, breakfast is NOT free, unlike the advertising… We waited 45 minutes for the shuttle van from the airport, which is 5 minutes driving distance. When we got to the hotel and voiced our complaint the manager didn't really seems to care. Service is everything.

I stay here as an "airline commuter. " In my 14 + years in the industry I have spent at least 3-4 days a week in various hotels. The Sheraton staff goes out of their way to take care of the details. From the bell service to the front desk, housekeeping or restaurant this hotel impresses me. They are courteous and proper.

Upon arrival, the young lady at the desk (so sorry, I was o busy talking to you, I failed to get your name, lol) went out of her way to accommodate my partner and myself offering to upgrade our room. So very rare these days. Roughly providing 3 1/2 star quality, the Sheraton never fails to satisfy and the staff tends to make up for any short falls. I don't say this loosely either folks. I AM customer service. It's rare to maintain this level of professionalism and attentiveness throughout and establishment this large. Our third stay so far and look forward to returning. I don't even know what to say about this hotel. I travel over 300 nights a year and am currently chasing Platinum status with SPG as well as the free nights promo for Sheraton. This is how I found myself here, with my family, as opposed to any of the other dozen hotels nearby. Having seen the inside of so many different hotel rooms, it really takes quite a bit to motivate me to call the front desk about an issue. I realize people make mistakes, have bad days and overlook small things. Nobody is perfect, and so I try to understand that as I stay at all these different chains. Some things cannot be excused though. Such as the broken window in the glass ceiling surrounding the lobby/pool. Huge shards of glass just hanging there, waiting to fall at least 50 feet directly down into the pool. You can't try to tell me that hotel staff didn't notice this when I randomly looked up and saw it on the way to my room. Certainly glad my daughter wasn't swimming. On to the room. Our first try getting in wasn't successful as both our brand new room keys would not open the door. Back to the elevator and down to the front desk with all our luggage in tow. Back up again after problem has been fixed to find one of the most disgusting rooms I have ever seen. First, for starters, this hotel desperately needs a renovation. But looking beyond that obvious fact is all of the following.

They were having a very bad room service and they were acting so bad, which made one of the residents left earlier, the hotel looks good and clean though. I would not recommend staying there and spending $200 a night, the most that it worth is $100

We are here with 400 youth for the ELCA national youth gathering! They have been spot on and amazing this whole week. High schoolers are not easy!

There's no Bibles in the rooms! I then call the front desk requesting one and they tell me they don't have any! Really? It's one thing not having them on every room, it's a completely different one not having them upon request. Refusing such a basic service, so disrespectful! Definitely not coming back here.

I am a SPG platinum member so expexted room to be upgraded and club lounge. Room condition was not bad but lounge was uncomfortable now on maintenence work and so narrow and small. If anyone expect lounge service, I dont recommand this hotel, just for sleeping it would be OK.

The room had stains on the floor, their was cobwebs on the ceiling some brown spots on the ceiling and a big crack down the middle. The caulk around the bathtub appeared to have some kind of mold or some kind of stain on it.

Great solid hotel with basic amenities, internet was mildly spotty with some downtime, but otherwise a great hotel, gym is recently renovated with new equipment and plenty of cardio machines and free weights. Club room is well appointed with plenty of tea and snacks, plus coffee and more during morning hours.

For close to $200 per night, this hotel wasn't an exceptional value. It is more-or-less the run-of-the-mill convention type hotel. Nothing remarkable in terms of amenities (though the room itself was clean, and the bed was reasonably comfortable. ) The excercise facility had old, dated treadmills.
