We got in late very tierd 130 am on Saturday Nov 6th our 50th wedding anniversary we came from a long day of traveling from. Costa Rica happy to have a comfy bed great pillows we slept well but the biggest disappointment was no hot water at all for a shower we had to take one in ice cold water we had to have a shower after 15 hrs traveling we turned the heat up just so we could get warm after was not fun! we did not even stay for breakfast as we were so disappointed.

Friendly staff too. Keep up the good work 👍.

Sent two of our Employees on a Business trip to Romulus, MI. They Drove in from Charlotte, NC to Romulus, MI. Very long journey. I Called an hour ahead as they were running a little behind. We wanted to make sure that they still could get into their room even though they were running behind. The lady was nice stating that it was Hiltons policy to hold the room until arrival. When our Employees arrived at the Hotel, that’s when things took a turn for the worse. At the front desk they stated that our Employees could not be checked in because “they were overbooked “. I called the Hilton the very next day. I spoke with the day manager, John. Very nice gentleman. He stated that he was puzzled as to why our Employees were turned away. They had 33 unsold rooms the night before. John opened up the reservation, and stated “it looked like the room under our reservation was checked into then checked out of. “ So after a very long journey our Employees were turned away. They were extremely tired. We booked our Employees at the Hilton because we wanted them to stay in a nice and safe hotel. We purchased the breakfast buffet for them because they would be driving back the very next day. We wanted to make sure they had a very good breakfast before departing. I spoke to one of our Employees and he stated that “the Hilton staff were being nice but he could tell it wasn’t genuine. Fake smiles. He stated it was hard to explain but they felt like they were being discriminated upon.

Great staff, nice place, excellent service and very clean room.

It's not the cleanest Hilton I've ever been in. Needs some cosmetic work. Just less than what I'm accustomed from the Hilton brand.

Super friendly after a hectic day of being bumped from 2 flights then one gets canceled! They picked me up from the airport and helped me relax and even offered me late check out!

I have gone there twice both times my reservation was screwed up and I had to pay more for my room. The staff was not nice either time.

Bathrooms not being cleaned properly seen a housekeeper clean the toilet with a brush then cleaned the sink with the same exact brush very gross.

Good staff. Food OK. Nice rooms. Bar only open until 10pm, room service only until 9pm.

We enjoyed our visit. The room was cool and clean. Staff was professional and very pleasant. Breakfast was great. We were visiting The Henry Ford and found the location to be reasonably close.

We had a horrible experience at the airport and called this Hilton to get a room just for a few hours and sleep. They accommodated us and got a room ready at 10:30 in the morning — we checked out three hours later. The staff was awesome and made it happen working with housekeeping. I appreciated not just being told no when we called from the airport all tired and out of it. But figuring it out even though their hotel was full the night before — they deserve a 5-star review.

Definitely enjoyed my stay here for the night. The staff were extremely kind and nice to talk to, the rooms were well kept and clean, the beds & pillows were comfortable, and the location was ideal being right next to the highway, or for others looking for airport access, it's very close to the airport as well. Definitely would stay here again.

STAY HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK! We found multiple ticks in the bed and room. When we informed the front desk they did not seem surprised as if they were used to this happening frequently. They did not understand why I would want a new room after finding multiple ticks in the bed. No manager on duty to handle this situation so I ended up having to speak to housekeeping in order to change rooms. Housekeeping could not (probably would not) guarantee that my new room would be cleaned before I changed which blew my mind. Overall horrible experience and rude employees will make me reconsider ever staying at an airport hotel ever again.

Decent business hotel. I see others complain a bit, but the staff is straight forward and to the point. They engage youvas well as you engage them. They were very friendly and were helpful. Inside restaurant was a great place for breakfast and I had dinner there and it was quite good. All around it is a good business hotel.

Clean rooms, friendly staff, and comfortable beds. Hotel restaurant on site as well as several casual and fast food restaurants within walking distance. Bar in Lobby area serving cocktails and drafts. We stayed for 2 nights and anytime we came and went the lobby/bar/restaurant had people and children laughing, eating, and enjoying themselves.

The pool was a bit small but it was clean and staff was very accommodating. I had a great stay.

Clean and low-key. Nicely located near the airport and several restaurants, though the on-site dining is very good.

The hotel Garden Inn was a great place to go for my nephew's m-step testing it was very clean quiet and organized and all the employees seem like they like their jobs for the most part they seem very nice.

Stay here as a last-minute need. Quick check in, quick check out. The shuttle even took me to the store. It's only minutes from the airport also I am extremely happy I fell upon this hotel.

Accommodations were nice, its close to the airport, and the staff was pleasant. There is a bar and restaurant on site. Room service is available, but it's quite pricey.

Good hotel, very close to DTW so super convenient. Rooms are clean, although maybe showing just slight age/wear vs a newer hotel. Still recommended and will stay there again, as it is consistently clean and staff always feiendly.

I travel for work, several times a week, and my preferred hotel chain is the Hilton Garden Inn. I’ve seen several variations, from the west coast to the east coast. Work brought me to the Detroit area, this week, so I chose this hotel based on the brand, the reputation and the location to the airport. The staff was very friendly when I called, from the airport, and requested a shuttle to the hotel. When I arrived, they were just as friendly, checking me in. This was a great start, even though the location was somewhat run down… which I’ve found normal for airport locations. What changed my experience was the first night I stayed… at about 1 AM, when I was awakened by the sound of automatic gunfire. I’m former law enforcement and very familiar with the sound, so after dropping to the floor and waiting for a break in the sound, I peered through my sixth floor window to see repeated muzzle flash, coming from a vehicle in the back parking lot. The vehicle sped off and that was the end of it. No, I’m not kidding or exaggerating. The second day, I went onsite at a local police agency, for my assigned duties for work. I asked the officers about the incident from the night before and was told that the area where I stayed was heavily controlled by gang activity, prostitution and drugs… so it was not unusual, with the added “welcome to Detroit”. That same day, when making my way back to the hotel, I passed a large number of less savory characters, in the front parking lot.

Very nice place. Just a hotel night with grandbabies. Kid's loved pool and hot tub. Very clean. Restaurant on site. Would definitely recommend.

This hotel was slightly off the road, so make sure you are paying attention when you get close. As far as the hotel itself, it was beautiful. It was similar to the other hilton garden inns I have stayed at. Their food, drinks, exercise facility and giant pool were all better than your average hotel. This is a true 4-5 star experience most days.

Was recommended by a coworker due to proximity to airport. Very nice staff. No complaints, rooms were clean and quiet and I was able to get a good (although short) night's sleep.

Nice enough. Close to the airport. Not much within walking distance. Good for an overnight if you have a connecting flight.

I'm frequent Garden Inn guest. The Detroit Metro Airport Garden Inn has all the usual nice amenities and comfortable beds and rooms. However, staff need to pay more attention to detail: I got double charged for my breakfast. And the housekeeping could use improvement. The carpet in my room was filthy and had never been vacuumed under the bed. I expect better from a Hilton Garden Inn.

Great location by airport. Room very clean and staff friendly and helpful.

Lunch break of a business meeting. Chowder and fish specials were delicious. Servers were delightful. Place was mostly empty, so hard to say if the quick service was a feature or coincidence. Next time will come later and try their bar.

I had a great time the room was clean and modern. The staff was excellent. But I spent 4.00$ at the food shop on a small bag of chips and only 2.00$ on the Pop bottle. I understand a price increase because of location… but that price was ridiculous. So was a few other things in the store that was up at least 4-5 times more then would have been somewhere else. I never had this issue and it never would have bothered me. … untill I went downstairs to get a snack and only got 2 small (I mean those small bags) of chips for 10$

Great hotel. Front desk and staff are awesome. Food at the small restuarant was very good. I have stayed at this hotel multiple times and have never been disappointed.

Nice hotel, clean, and very friendly staff. We visited for a hockey tournament. They had a great breakfast with made-to-order fresh items. Our room was a handicap-accessible room, which was unexpected, and we thought we were getting two queen size beds but we got two full size, which was difficult for 4 full-grown people. So thats why I give it 4 stars. But it was nice and located conveniently.

This is a nice hotel. Convenient location for where I have to go. Service is good so far and I like the lobby area by the fireplace. It's cozy.

Not that bad of a place to hang out. Could adjust ac. It keeps turning on and off. It would go from cold to uncomfortable hot.

I had dinner in the restaurant near the lobby. The service was excellent. I ordered a Caesar salad with chicken. It was really good. I also had a piece of apple pie with caramel and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. That was sooooo good! Everything was wonderful during my dinner.

First time staying here,. They have the adjustable firmness beds, rooms are clean and updated. Plenty of power ports. The restaurant/grill closes at 10pm Sharp, so if your are running late, you might need to eat elsewhere. Excellent HGI breakfast. I will be staying here again.

I was suprized that for this hotel being double the price of typical places had no breakfast included… the TV had just showtime. The room was very nice but the bed comfort system was U/S, I did not complain as I did not pay for the room and I only had one night to stay. The Kurig coffee maker was a plus, the location is great to the airport and some local shops. The Free Wi-Fi ran well, and they have a couple of PCs available with printers. The restaurant looked very nice but my boss wanted to eat elsewhere.

It was just a typical room no bells no whistles actually rooms near by for half the amount I paid and there pool is a joke it's like a large hot tub to call it a pool no way they are super dog friendly so that was nice and the shuttle was great but other than that save your money go cheaper.

Work conference was held there. What I observed was fine. Did not stay the night or eat there.

I had to give this hotel one star because of the way I was treated by a staff member. This hotel has a 24 hour gym but on 5/24/2016 I was very rudely kicked out by an employee at 10pm. The Hilton Garden Inn Promise reflects our focus on hospitality and integrity. We are committed to providing an excellent hotel experience for every guest, every time. I would say that the hotel failed to keep their Promise.

Room was just ok for me. Nothing to shout about. What I really like was the breakfast. It is good.

It was ok. The room was cramped with a weird layout (and it was a king suite, the biggest room they have), and outdated. They were remodeling so the parking was difficult, no snack store in the lobby, restaurant was moved and had a limited menu. The Hampton next door is nicer, but it was booked so I didn't have a choice.

Older building, worn carpet, smells musty in the halls. Pretty standard rooms though. Hard to get a decent Wi-Fi signal. Have to move around the room to find the sweet spot.

Great service, clean room. Suites on floor 3 are really thin and if you're sitting up front all you'll hear is doors slamming throughout the evening.

Had to stay overnight with our nine month old daughter after bad weather caused us to miss our connection. Staff was incredibly helpful and courteous and provided us a Pack n' Play for our daughter. In a tough situation, they helped out immensely.

Worst experience ever! I called and complained about the bed because my back was hurting. I was told that I would get a gift card. I actually forgot about it until I was asked to do a survey. Well upon calling and asking about the gift card I was treated very rudely by the front desk and then Joe the general manager got on the phone and he was not any better. I will never ever stay at another hilton anything. I had the worst customer service ever! And I will be calling corporate about this horrible hotel.

Okay it was April 26 I have made with orbit to stay at the Holiday Inn Expresssomehow they didn't havethey just couldn't find my reservationso I've seen the hotel across the street which is the hilton garden innI arrived and I asked if they had any rooms the lady said hold on let me seeshe said I do have rooms but I can help you you have to call make reservationsso she gave me a 1-800 number I have to call the number to make my reservation very inconvenient I was standing right in front of the desk and she couldn't help me I can't believe it okay so finally I get the room I come in the room it's about 12 pm I'm getting a little hungryby the waythe restaurantis not open all day it's only open for breakfast and dinnerso there's no lunchanyway so I said I'm going to wait I waited till five o'clock in the afternoon to order my food finally I get food delivered to my roomafter a few minutes my food was deliver got a phone call from the front desk saying that the alarm the fire alarm was going offif I had something going on in my roomI was trying to eat my food when I got the phone callwho call meI said I'm eating sirhe said we'll something is going on in your room he pushed into my roomhe wanted to know if my room smell like cigarettes I guess the girl that came in hereand deliver the food what spying on mehopefully she didn't steal anything from me because he was fine I'm pretty sure she was going through my thingsI said it will I'm eating and you're interrupting my lunchI think

I booked through hotwire where they have the hotels unknown unroll you book it and oh my I was impressed with this Hilton. The lobby was very nice and well decorated, check in went well and quick. The best part is walking into a clean, spacious room and amazingly comfortable bed. Free Wi-Fi even makes it better jus ask for the access code at lobby. I had a great experience, and I sure will go back.

Summary, my room was great, but my experience at the restaurant was subpar. Verdict, stay here, but dine out. However, the King Studio room at Hampton in Canton was just as nice if not nicer, with free hot breakfast. Restaurant details: Hi I had a good stay at this Hilton, except for the restaurant. Breakfast: I came 30 minutes before breakfast ended, and the food was so so. The eggs tasted like they came from a mix. The waiter was friendly (almost too friendly) but didn't come to fill my drink very often. The hotel employees were constantly coming over to the buffet and eating the food, having loud conversations etc. Dinner: I came to the restaurant 30 minutes before closing. The restaurant was about 50% full, several people were getting up to leave. It took 10 minutes to even be acknowledged by the wait staff, and she didn't say hi or ask for my drink order, just dropped off a menu. 5 minutes later she came back and took my order, and did not ask for my drink order (I had to catch her before she walked off). Finally, she delivered my soft drink and salad 20 minutes after I was seated. She delivered it in a small glass, saying that all the regular glasses were not washed yet, and that she would keep an eye on my drink. At the same time, I mentioned I did not have any silverware, and she said she would get some. She disappeared for a while and then finally grabbed silverware off the table next to me.

Best hotel I've stayed at for a while. Hotel has been revamped and was top quality. Not Hilton anymore though. 2 LCD tv's in the bedroom was very nice. Rooms were well done, everything was nice and new. Very impressed. Lobby was very impressive. Slightly noisy due to close proximity to airport, but not really a problem.
