First off the hotel was good… comfortable and clean. Great hot water and I loved the shower. I would have rated it at 4 stars if I can find where to separately rate it. This rating is for the casino. My experience at the casino was not very enjoyable. A lot of the machines would have people leaving something at it to reserve it while also reserving another one and playing at a different one. I saw this several times but I never saw staff address it. I saw one cocktail server who never acknowledged me, although I did wish to order. The smoke was overpowering. I decided to go to the nonsmoking area which is in the back corner of the room with no desirable slots and had to walk through a cloud of smoke to get to it. Then there were people standing in that section STILL smoking and staff never said a word. I saw staff members literally run into people to get them to move. This was my first visit to this Tropicana and I will never return.

After walking the River Walk and historical district, we quickly stopped by to see the casino. They offer free parking and there is easy access to the garage to the hotel and casino. They offer live music, food and lots of slot machines. I like the old fashioned slot machines with handles as well as the buttons. I could not find any of those. They had plenty of penny slots. Several craps, black jack and roulette tables tables. The lowest buy in was $5 for Blackjack. $10 for roulette. About average. They did have some virtual BJ and Roulette games for lower buy ins. They also have a high $ poker area. It wasn't that smoky. I believe there is a casino bus that goes to this casino every weekend from Nashville, if you live there. Very clean and week kept.

Had a wonderful time at the ITV Canine Carnival! Food was delicious and plentiful. It did take awhile for drink refills and even for everyone at our table to receive their initial drink order. That was the only negative to the evening.

Great stay, we were only there for 1 night but the lobby and room was very clean and modern. The bed was very comfy and we had a perfect view of the river out our window. Free Parking garage attached to the hotel was nice. All staff was nice! Would love to stay again!

I just don't get this place and its obsession with shutting down blackjack tables. If a table doesn't have any players at it within 2 minutes they shut it down and send the dealer home. It doesn't matter if the remaining 3 tables they have open are at 100% capacity. This leads to you walking around irritated and forced to play slots, which is probably what they want, a real house winner. I'm done with this place.

I'd just like to thank all the staff at the Tropicana where I had a wonderful stay. Beautiful room, great food and drinks and I even left with a small win in my pocket! Could not have asked for more!

Dirty and rigged. Been to a few casinos. Been to this one 4 times now and have never heard anyone win nor have I ever hit anything above 2 or 3 bucks. Machine quality is poor. I prefer the Indian Casinos down south.

Had a great time. Smoke smell wasn't as bad as some of the reviews say. The only time I smelled it enough to bother me was when a guy sat near me at a slot machine. I can't wait to go back tho.

The people were nice and friendly. Beautiful on the outside. There was a $15 resort fee. There was no pool. The fitness room had mirrors and two treadmills. There was only one parking area for the Casino and Hotel.

I was anxious to come play in the new casino, but it was terrible. You sent me money to play on but I lost it almost immediately. I then put $115 of my money in slots but never won enough money to continue to play on. I have never been so disappointed in my life. I may never come back. You did send us two free buffets and we ate at The Kitchen, delicious food. Our free overnight stay was really nice too, but it is not worth our time to drive there from LaGrange, KY. I am so depressed about this trip. In fact my husband may never bring me back unless you can make it worth while. To top all this, you charged me $17.25 resort charge when we checked out today. This charge is not acceptable to us. Hope you can all your ducks in a row and offer me something to make us want to come back. Let's see if you post this review.

I went there to try out my luck at the Casino, had a GREAT TIME! The Casino has a little Las Vegas feel to it and the staff was phenomenal. Sr. Casino Host, Dianna Hart gives the Casino & Hotel that personalized touch to make you want to come back! The professionalism she demonstrated showed that she really cares about the customers and that they feel "welcomed"! She was helpful, courteous and knowledgeable about the Casino. Her demeanor was certainly appreciated. Only had one bad experience with a pit boss, Mr. Hung — Honestly, he should not be on the floor serving clients. He was rude with an attitude and unprofessional when he was asked a question about card process. If it were not for Diana Hart, the rating would be a ONE star based on Mr. Hung’s attitude (lets back to positive). The hotel rooms are in fact, pretty nice, unique style and you can tell that go the extra step by making sure that there are enough electrical outlets to plug all of your phones, charges, laptops, etc! If you are in town, this is the place to visit! Yes, there is smoke and I'm a non-smoker but the fun at the Casino will override the smoke! I think you will have a BLAST! Thank you Tropicana!

I didn't think it smelled like smoke until you were by somebody smoking, so they must have a great ventilation system in place. We really enjoyed it, especially my adult daughter who is in an electric wheelchair. She was able to drive right under some slot machines and play.

Great parking easy access to Casino. Once your in let the fun begin. Great Slots, Black Jack, Craps, Roulette. Excellent live entertainment. 2 good venues to get a bite to eat. Very nice employees all wrapped up in a fantastically designed layout that leaves you in awe.

Evansville Tropicana may possibly is the most poorly ran and poorly staffed casino I have ever seen. The dealer shortage is appalling, and the shortage of tables creates long waits to play even when it is not very busy. The comps are terrible. You gain 1 tier point for every 6 dollars wagered on table games and 1 point for every 3 dollars on slots. Also, your comps expire every 6 months and you lose your status at the end of every year. Before they overhauled their points system it was a 1 to 1 ratio and it was great and somewhat fair. Last night I played 3 hours of black jack, granted I was playing the minimum, but I barely gained 100 points. In closing, if you are looking for a casino that you plan to frequent, this is a terrible choice. I truly see no value in going to this casino for anything.

First time at this casino. It was great played a game called high flush on my birthday came home a winner. Never played it or heard of this game before. The dealer was fantastic. Explained the game to me should me how to win. They do have table games as well as slots.

This new land base casino is absolutely amazing compared to the old boat. I will miss being able to go up to the observation deck but the Tap house located in the casino helps soften the sting with its endless selection of craft beers on tap. If you go at an off time the table games can be full but it usually doesn't take too long for a spot to open up.

Even though there were designated smoking/non-smoking areas, you had to walk through the smoking sections before you got to a non-smoking section. Seems to defeat the purpose of having the two separate areas. The casino itself is nice, plenty of food and drink options, but there were plenty of people who made us feel as though we had to be overly cautious of where we sat to play. We won't be back.

The new facility is amazing! I love the open floor all one level all brand new. Not to mention I won big thanks to my lucky charm. That beautiful brunette woman.

This is the worst managed casino. Particularly, the way they run rge poker room is borderline criminal. Last Friday, I came to play poker at 9pm. I didn't get a seat until after midnight. When you do sit down and play, the dealers are horrendous. Most people would be embarrassed to have such incompetent dealers dealing at home game. They have no automatic shufflers and dealers are getting out 9 hands every half hour. I just returned from st. Louis where dealers are averaging 22 hands per half hour. Words cannot describe how poorly run and managed the Tropicana casino is. I have travelled all over US and have been to at least 50 casinos. Tropicana is not only at the bottom, but none other come close.

I'm not a fan of the casino getting rid of the riverboat. I understand the need to get the casino itself off of the boat but I don't understand why the riverboat itself wasn't kept as a dinner boat. Evansville's loss was New Orleans gain. Very disappointing. Hopefully the casino rebounds by lobbying for the Evansville Wharf project next door.

Machines are extremely tight at moment compared to other casinos in region. New place is nice though. Staff and facilities is top notch also. Three stars cause of gambling. Should be two stars but staff got them another star.

I was not impressed with the new land based casino. Drink machines are gone. But if you can catch a cocktail waitress they will give you one off there tray. I really didn't like that the hotel, starting Jan. 1st is going to charge a $15.00 per night fee even on comp. Rooms. I thought comp. Means FREE. Next there will be a charge on the free buffet. I have been a gold member for the last 3yrs but don't believe I'll go back.

Not really impressed with the new casino, sure it's pretty, but they consolidated 3 floors of slot machines into 1. All the machines are crammed together. They done away with self serve soda drinks, now you have to wait very long periods of time to get an already ice diluted drink from the floor waitress. They improved the bar area, now comes complete with TV's and plenty of seating, and the Poker card players have a more comfortable section to play.

The new casino is awesome. Very pretty. They have a club that plays music loud enough for the whole casino to hear. Staff are friendly. Way easier to get to than the that boat. Smoky as heck though.

Tropicana Casino is on a boat barge in the river dried steady I don't move but they're building one on land across the street there is a lot of construction going on they have valet parking which I love and they will bring the car around to you if you call them when you get ready to leave. But you have to watch it sometimes you win sometimes you lose my suggestion is don't take any ATM cards in and only take what you going to spend you know what you're willing to lose and if you can switch your driver's license here in the casino card and stuff if you put it in your pocket better than having a purse that I've won and lost big at times from both cards and what they call it one-arm Bandits the slots I like it.

Went here on a girls road trip. The hotel was very pleasant, the food was good, staff was helpful and nice. As far as parking is concerned, they are in the process of remodeling so parking is totally in the parking garage (valet as well), this made for a bit of congestion. The Casino was fun, a bit smoky but not to the extent of being horrible. Playing slots in casino was fun, although we did not win a major jackpot!

Great place to stay or work. The hotel rooms are large and very clean. All of the staff member I came in contact with were extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurants aren't too expensive; food quality and quantity was excellent. I did not like the casino because the tobacco smell was overbearing. Gambling was fun; all the machines worked fine. Security made me feel safe and everyone was having fun. My experience was great.

Love visiting here personally. The river boat could use updating but they are building the new casino even though I love the boat. Its a fun place and some times we win sometimes we lose. Hotel is great and love the river views when you get one. Bars and restaurants are fun. Main bar has good entertainment some times. Love the houses near there and river walk. I just enjoy going there all around. I gave it a 4 star because there are a few things that could be made better but it's still one of my favorite places to gamble and stay!

Nice Hotel Room, friendly staff. Went more for the resort aspect than gambling. Room viewed the water, very nice. Parking was not bad but confusing, long walk from parking to hotel registration to hotel room then restaurants and casino. They have carts and a spot to park for unloading. Although my room was not ear the ice machine, it had a door on it which I'm sure kept it quieter. Bathroom had a large walk in shower with a seat. The shower sealed out the steam and didn't steam up the lighted mirror. Only 2 double beds offered for no smoking. They save the kings for smokers… not fair. The steak restaurant was good, the Hoosier Bar in the middle is awesome. The bartender made our day with his side show and humor.

The service was very good but the prices (for food/drinks) are too expensive.

The ventilation was good, so we couldn't smell the smoke. It was a Saturday night and although busy, we were able to find machines easily. We also won a free night at the hotel, so that was good. However, we were not impressed with the food options in the building.

I was only there to gamble and regularly stop by to test my luck. I enjoy the general atmosphere. They are continually making small improvements to their space and will be making the transition to a physical building soon. One of the most consistent issues I encounter is the lack of ice in their soda machines. I am also not a big fan of their rewards program, it is not as inviting as those in St. Louis casinos. Overall good experience and nice staff.

You must be 21 years old to enter the boat. That's right, your on a boat. You cant feel it rock or anything, and it does not leave shore. It is open 24/7. We go to Tropicana every month. It's the best casino in that area. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and affordable. They have a very nice buffet on the weekends located inside the hotel. They also have room service available if you would rather have breakfast in bed. (Trust me Go to the buffet. You won't be disappointed with it. ) There is also 3 other restaurants located across the Skywalk inside the lobby of Tropicana before you enter the walking dock. Max and Erma's ($$-$$$ Burgers, Pasta, Seafood) Cavanaugh's ($$$$ upscale expensive steaks, seafood and wines) Mama Mia's ($$-$$$ Italian type. Pasta, Calzones, Artisan pizzas) When you arrive sign up for the Trop Advantage card and play, you earn points. With those points you can get benefits like free hotel room stays, free comp for meals, free slot or table play. We recently earned a free 3 night stay at Tropicana Atlantic City, New Jersey. It was amazing to get to see the ocean, all because I'm a Tropicana member who comes plays, has fun and hopefully wins some money in the process. They do need to put some newer games in, a few are out of date and stop taking the ones everyone loves away. The waitresses are far and few in between. Those little bitty sodas or water bottles are free of charge, they do serve alcohol but that will cost you.

Wonderful casino. Great games. Food is always great but a little pricey. Buffet was great. Cocktail waitresses were hard to find. 2 hours before I was ever asked if I needed a drink.

Rooms are very nice and clean. Could you refridgerator in them. Bathrooms are very big and accomindating staff is ver frienfly.

Our room was delayed till 1630 when it was supposed to be ready no later than 1600. That caused a issue with our schedule but everything else was taken care of in a timely manner and the suite was excellent!

I have been to Tropicana Evansville several times different professional events. They have always done an outstanding job and offered great service.

I loved it had a lot of fun. Good variety of games. Friendly staff. Will go again and I have already told others about it.

Went to play craps. Had a great time. Stayed for about 6 hours. All the dealers were friendly and joked with us. They made a fun atmosphere.

I use to go quite a bit until I moved out of state. I recently went back to stay while visiting friends and couldn't believe how much things changed or maybe I have more places to compare with. The smoke smell was absolutely terrible, not only in the casino but in the hotel as well. I am a former smoker so smoke doesn't typically bother me, but this simply wreaked of weeks of stale smoke. The dealers were very unfriendly, almost no interaction with the guest at all. I typically don't like to bet roulette until after the dealer releases the ball, however once the dealer realized how I was betting he started immediately waving me off and had the pit boss stand next to me, even though I hadn't won a single hand. I gave them over $300 gambling plus hotel and food and they made me feel as I was imposing. I had reserved the room for 2 nights and when I checked out I volunteered I was checking out early (1 night) due to the overwhelming smoke smell. I didn't even get a blink out of the desk clerk, an apology, or an attempt to fix the situation. I personally would be concerned for Evansville if they are simply going to build a new "land based" casino if they aren't going to do anything to clean up their current operations. Evansville does not need a run down building taking up space downtown. Clean up what you have before you expand! After seeing several other casinos, this one is not even close in comparison to one's that actually have respect for their guest.

Worst casino ever one roulette table, racist dealers ever can't gamble because table full. How can you win with one table. A dealer curse me out I down money and help pay your salary how can you talk to customer that way. Dont go! dont go! dont go! rip off.

Its ok if you know what you are doing, not enough table games to get in on, some are very cleverly biased to the house, know what you want to play and look at the tables and pay outs, some tables they take too much away from the player, I think their craps tables have over a 5 vig to the house, if you are going to be a smart player, know your games and rules before you play. Win your 10% then walk, lose 3 in a row or 30% of your bank, then walk… been a pro player for 15 years…

This was my first time going to a casino, and had no idea what to expect. The first notable sight was the walkway to the front of the casino. Then we decided to browse around the casino trying a few slots here and there. We found out they had complementary soft drinks on the first floor which was nice. I ended up winning $50 on black jack. I wish the casino was non smoking, but other than that I had a great time and had fun with the people around me. I would definitely go back.

This place is fantastic if you: 1) Enjoy standing around for an hour waiting for a table spot to open up. 2) Would like to develop cancer while you play. There are very rarely enough tables open to conveniently accommodate the number of players, especially if you prefer to not sit between two smokestacks while you play. To make things even more infuriating, they refuse to let go of the 4-card poker table that hardly anybody ever plays (what happened to Let It Ride? ). They do not have enough BJ tables available, but they always have a 4-card dealer standing there twiddling their thumbs. I don't know who is making the decisions at this place, but they need to find another line of work. It's too bad that there is not another option nearby, a little healthy competition might force them to get their act together. In any case, they won't be getting anymore of my money until they do.

Please do not patronize Tropicana Evansville. Go to French lick, or any other casino. My wife and I witnessed the worse case of racism by the bar tenders at Hoosiers lounge. Disgusting that in America you can be refused the right to drink a beer because you are from Brazil even though you have a valid id and passport. Worst case of racism I have ever witnessed by a so called bartender. The man from Brazil had a valid ID and passport but the bartender refused to accept that as proper ID. How can you refuse a valid form of government ID? He asked to speak to management but got ignored and then we asked to see management and were asked to leave because of it. If you know anyone from a different country they won't let you do anything here because the don't know how to read passports or other country ID's.

I wish I would have read the reviews before I drove 3 hours to get to the Casino. Old, dirty, smokey, smelly… totally disappointed. The only floor with no smoke only had slots and the poker room. I stayed for about 10 minutes then got back in my car and drove the 3 hours back home. For that short of time, my clothes reeked of smoke all the way home. YUCK! Hey, if people want to smoke, good for them. I choose not to be around it. If you're looking for a non-smelly place, this is NOT it.

I think that ay luck within the single we must have faith.
