Clean room and friendly staff.

No toothbrush kit, asked for one twice and they brought up toothbrushes no toothpaste. Rooms are so noisy because of outside traffic. Overall this Hyatt didn’t live up to our expectations. It wasn’t nearly as nice or fancy as I expected. It was clean though.

Arrived after a rough travel day. Cornelius and Sarah at the front desk were super nice and friendly — I walked in stressed and after checking in with them walked up to my room smiling. The room was large (unusual in city rooms) and impeccably clean. The breakfast had a great selection and was served in the very clean restaurant and the fitness room had a good number of machines. Was nice to come back from a day of meetings to Cornelius and Sarah greeting me by name — welcoming touch!

My husband and I loved our stay! Our room was clean and spacious (King with city view) and I love having the couch area when staying in a hotel for more than a few nights. It really makes a difference! The house keeping was impeccable and the front desk staff knowledgeable and helpful. The breakfast setup was a little cramped and confusingly set up, but the selection and quality was great! The location is perfect for all of the great restaurants and night life that River North has to offer. I always choose a Hyatt Place when it's available for my travels and this one did not disappoint.

Staff was nice. Room was nice in general. However, we found a toe warmer wrapper under the bed. In August. How long was THAT under there? Cold weather ends around April. Also, no USB plugs. Those are almost standard now. Could have used a waste basket in the bathroom. Breakfast was bagels, toast, English muffins. No fruit. No waffle maker. No yogurt. No juice that I could see. Coffee was excellent. In general, I felt like for what we paid, it could've been better.

We we're treated to wonderful customer service during our stay. When we checked in, the front desk staff listened to my story about having my 2 year old in town for the first time and provided a great recommendation for a kid friendly restaurant created by a fabulous local chef with other 5 star restaurants. When we came back into the hotel bar/restaurant at 7:45 pm with a sleeping kid in a wagon, they made room for all of us, so my husband and I could enjoy a "late night" snack and adult beverage while our daughter slept. The breakfast has mostly options making it easy to stay on track with any diet. The rooms are clean and comfortable and ours had a great view even though we didn't pay for "City view". Since this is close to the Red Line, we will definitely be staying here again.

We had booked this place for almost a week, the location of the hotel is perfect, its a short walk away from the millenium mile which is a shoppers paradise. The rooms were modern and clean, nice comfortable beds. Breakfast was served in the Mediterranean restaurant at the lobby level, it was a bit boring after a few days, lack of variety, but having said that the same restaurant served amazing med food for lunch and dinner and is buzzing with people in the evenings. Great cocktails and options of wine in the same place. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Overall a happy pleasant place to stay.

Location is good but very close to fire department. Rooms are clean. Personnel is great. AC needs some work for properly running and AC flow is not adjustable.

Nice accommodations, great staff and impeccable service. One of the best restaurants in Chicago on the first floor. It is fairly close to a fire station, so ask for a room away from the front, that is on a higher floor.

Nice clean place. Great location in the downtown area. Complimentary breakfast was good. Have nothing to complain about.

A great hotel. Great service, nice people. The rooms a dream. Freshly renovated, beautiful bathroom. Free coffee and other extras, such as free breakfast and Wi-Fi. The view from the window from the bed at night is actually priceless. Beautiful! Thank you.

Though my room did not have a view, the hotel’s location was perfect for sightseeing in Chicago. It was clean and breakfast was excellent. I enjoyed my stay.

This hotel is pretty nice and is in a great location if you want to explore Chicago on your stay. Sadly during my trip to Chicago I got strep throat along with an existing sinus infection and awful headache. It was painful for me to sit or stand up because I would get nauseous so I was stuck in my room for a whole day. During this time I asked if they could bring more tissues to my room and they didn't bring them until over six hours later. I also had medication delivered and they said they could bring it up to my room when it arrived and it never came so the people I travelled with went to the front desk to ask for it (since I couldn't stand) and it turns out they had the medication but never brought it to the room. This is not a great way to treat a guest who is sick and in need of medication!

Rooms were clean and spacious. The staff was very polite and prompt when my friends and I requested more towels and blankets. We even had someone from the front desk follow-up with us to make sure we had everything we had asked for.

The staff is very nice. The breakfast at the restaurant could use some help. The items offered are gluten free (eggs, bacon, turkey sausage) and have very little taste. The restaurant was sub par when compared with other Hyatt hotels.

Clean hotel located downtown. Great location if you want to walk around the city. Valet parking is average for a city, in the $60's per day. Very average breakfast selection but a great size breakfast room with fresh ice water all day. The meeting rooms are in the basement right across from they gym. Not ideal for presentations. The food was awesome for our meetings and the service was excellent. We espresso loved the summer squash ravioli. 4 stars due to being directly across the street from a fire station. The photos are the view from a city view room.

Good location, good service, clean and spacious rooms. Breakfast included bad, they don't have variety, they should change the menu.

I love this place! They have sleep machines in the rooms along with ear plugs! I use a sleep machine every night at home so it was a great surprise to have one in my room. I have an app on my phone for a little noise, but it isn't the same. They also were able to check us in early because we were heading out on a winery tour to Michigan from 10:30 am till 7 pm. Breakfast was very good too!

This was our first trip to Chicago, and I'm hoping all hotels are cleaner then our room was in this one. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the lobby, along with the restrooms off of the lobby were clean. However our room seemed as if no one had stayed in it for about a week, due to it being dusty all over the desk and side tables. The bathroom was no exception. The sink, and toilet was also very dusty, and when my husband went to use the restroom and lifted the seat, it was REALLY gross… It looked like some ones butt had exploded everywhere. Sorry for the nasty detail, but I didn't want you to assume it was just old urine — which would also be gross. Also — the smoke alarm for our room went off anytime someone took a shower and the door was a little cracked due to any amount of steam. Not the best experience, we will be trying a different hotel next time because we do want to visit Chicago more often.

The room was great, the breakfast was good every day we ate there. The only problem was the last day the line was so long that we opted to walk down the street to the Starbucks. I read some reviews that complained about the noise from the fire station across the street, but we were on the fourth floor across from the station and barely ever heard any noise from the sirens and it ABSOLUTELY did NOT disturb our sleep! It's within walking distance of so many eating options. I would definitely stay here again!

We love this place. My wife and I were in Chicago for a weeks vacation. We stayed the whole week and enjoyed the modern facility. The room was quite and did have a white noise machine bedside to help drown out the city noise that just comes along with staying in Chicago. The valet service was nice, we got out of our car on the street and we didn’t see your car again until check out. We Ubered everywhere. The room was nice and up-to-date with a king size bed that was very comfortable, a couch in the sitting area, a desk and comfortable desk chair, a huge flatscreen TV, a upright closet unit, refrigerator and an awesome glassed enclosed shower. Every morning we ate at the downstairs restaurant. The breakfast bar that is complementary is stocked with plenty of the basics. The concierge has a texting system which allowed us to not touch the phone. Very accommodating staff that was friendly and helpful.

Very nice, clean hotel right in the thick of things. Plenty of amazing restaurants nearby. We'll appointed rooms. Nice exercise facility and good complementary breakfast. Stayed before, will stay again.

Fantastic breakfast included. Staff were very helpful. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. The price was very reasonable… with good reason. They charge $65 per night to have a valet park your car. Not pay one time… stay a week and pay $450 just to park. Also right besixe a noisy and very active fire station… still managed to enjoy our stay.

The service from the hotel staff exceeds that of far more expensive hotels in town. Excellent rooms. It can be a bit noisy from the outside — not from adjacent rooms. That's just normal for the area but the windows are nice and do pretty well against the sounds of a city center. Centrally located to many excellent, friendly restaurants and watering holes in a bustling neighborhood. We stayed here on consecutive trips to Chicago and will do so again next time.

I was in town for a wedding and stayed here because the bride and groom blocked off some rooms at a good rate. I usually stay in AirBnBs or whatever big chain has the best deal—but I was so impressed with everything that I immediately signed up for a HyattWorld membership at check-out and am making this my first choice from now on! Overall, place was exceptionally clean, quiet and conveniently located to everywhere you'd want to be in Chicago. Few major keys: the staff was so friendly and always greeted my boyfriend and I whenever we were entering or leaving the lobby. The daily complimentary breakfast was consistently delicious and had enough options to make anyone happy. The maids also went above and beyond when tidying up the room—they carefully organized all of my sporadically placed hair appliances, makeup and toiletries. I wish I could hire them to come back to Tampa and do the same thing at my house every day! =)

Over all a great stay! Would definitely stay again. Probably would pick an interior room though because the fire station is so close and the trucks are coming and going all hours of the night.

ALL is well except for two points. The rooms have no safes and breakfast ends early (9.00)

We went there for a concert at house of blues, which is only a few blocks away. The room we got was a pretty nice size for about $140, with two queen beds, and a couch to lounge on. The breakfast was pretty delicious, surprisingly, with a lot to choose from, n checkout is noon, which is nice. The only thing is that I wish the restaurant attached to the building was open later so we could've gone there for a midnight snack after our concert… think it was open until only 11, but maybe it was midnight and our show went later than I'm remembering.

Overall a great stay! Hotel had all the amenities I needed for my long weekend trip. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to my specific needs. My room was also very clean and modern. I'll definitely stay at this hotel again in the future, especially since it's close to everything.

Really nice hotel. It has good views of the city if your room is on the front side. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Also the rooms have all the required facilities from hairdryer to an iron. I do have to note that it can be loud in the rooms since it is next to a fire station and the air conditioning of the side buildings also make a lot of noise.

The accomodation of the Hyatt Place is excellent. The rooms are quite large and the hotel provides breakfast in the mornings for free. Very good service.

Parking is $$$, but car is not necessary with this center-of-everything hotel. Very nice & helpful front desk employees. Clean rooms, good food, nice accommodations. Only wish… Hotter water for showers, but most people think my "comfortable" is scalding.

Good hotel in the heart of downtown. Various tourist attractions are walking distance away. No parking available for hotel guests on site but the hotel partners with a parking garage nearby. You can usually find parking cheaper using various parking apps though. Breakfast closes pretty early as well (9 am) so get there early.

Hotel was what you would expect — nice quality and staff. The firehall right next door means you definitely want to avoid a low level floor as noise is sometimes bad. Location of the hotel is walking distance from a number of attractions, restaurants and bars which is great.

This place is located in the BEST area and the staff is incredible! Dan in particular made our stay extra special from beginning to end. I WILL be back and recommend ANY AND EVERYONE stay here.

Great room with a good restaurant and delicious breakfast. Be aware: there's a fire station across the street, so fire trucks and ambulances can be heard day and night. There are earplugs and white noise machines in the room to try and help.

The concierge were very nice and helpful. Nice rooms. Only thing we had an issue with is that the housekeepers did very Minimal. Our bathroom door was filthy, as was the pictures on the wall. I placed a couple hat's on top of the closet. Took them down and my 3 brand new hat's were covered with dust. BAD! The bed was made horribly and loose. Did not look like it was vacuumed before we got there. Two bottle caps from previous Occupants. I intentionally left them there the 1st day out just too see if the housekeepers noticed them. And of course they did not. Also one of the days (we stayed 3 nights) we got back from a day out the house keepers left there dirty cleaning gloves on the desk. It was a great stay oither than the last house keepers.

Great location and great service. They have a quite working printing center that can work pretty well when it's good. Otherwise it was a good stay for me.

Rooms are very nice and clean. After a long day of walking, the very comfortable bed allowed me to be able to sleep like a baby. My only complaint is there are no vending machines. To buy a soda, I had to go downstairs and purchase a $4.50 soda from the front desk.

Very good hotel. Great location They do not speak Spanish at the reception and are not interested in understanding.

My first impression of the hotel was wow, because as soon as I entered I was greeted by the reception and there's a fully stocked bar to quench your thirst! The rooms look really nice and is quite spacious depending on the room that you book. Only one issue is the fire department being in proximity to the hotel it can become of annoyance when sleeping. Therefore, they've kept a pair of ear buds in the room for additional silence. Overall this hotel is quite nice and comfortable, in addition we went for the breakfast option and don't regret doing it.

Excellent location and very nice hotel.

The room is beautiful and very clean and well stocked. The pull out couch is very comfortable. Bathrooms are modern and well-lit. The only problem with the location is that the fire department is right across the street so you often hear the sirens through the night. However, the hotel provided ear plugs and a white noise machine which made it very easy to sleep. The concierge (Dan) was very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The valet parking was very handy and they were very helpful in unloading our car. The restaurant was great. Very upscale and the decor was beautiful. The breakfast buffet was delicious — a great selection. Overall, a wonderful experience!

An incredible place to stay in River North! The hotel is located close to a lot of hot spots within walking distance. Amazing free breakfast! Incredible happy hour food and drinks! Very friendly and helpful staff!

Hotel is great. In a solid location in River North, walking distance to lots of nice restaurants and bars. Room was neat, but the view was so-so and we would have loved complimentary water like at other Hyatts we've stayed at before. Other than that, everything was great!

It is luxurious and very comfortable place to be with your partner.

We earned free nights to stay at any Hyatt hotel and this particular hotel exceeded all our expectations for our family of 5. Perfect location close to the red line, fabulous breakfast tucked away with good foods properly cooked. Excellent Customer service which I can actually text for any questions or information. Highly recommend this place and would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you Hyatt place!

We were originally booked at another Hyatt near the university. After landing at O'Hare and travelling another hourish we were told that even though we had reservations the hotel was booked and we would have to go to River North. The staff at river north were very nice/outgoing. They appologized several times when it wasn't their fault. Room wise everything looked clean. Wi-Fi was also free and not bad (tech geek here). When you hear free breakfast, you think of a bagel or something super cheap but breakfast was really good. They had several options and it tasted good as well. Overall would recommend Hyatt River North.

The best thing about the hotel was its location. Right in the middle of downtown and with an amazing view of the city. It is also located very close to the subway and trains so that getting places is quick and easy. Other than its amazing location, the hotel is adequate but not great. The room looks very elegant but it is missing lots of little details that hurt the experience. The curtain chain gets stuck frequently, the shower will change temperature constantly while showering, the heater would start running for apparently no reason in the middle of summer, etc. The staff of the hotel was always attentive, friendly and helpful. The included breakfast is not great but definitely better than your regular hotel breakfast, but in downtown Chicago you're better off going out and trying some other food.

If you're going to pay over $250 a night for a room, you would expect that the place would provide plates and a place to eat its complimentary breakfast. Not so at this overpriced, underperforming, aging tourist trap. They served lukewarm bottled minute maid as "juice. " Homeless people and those used to standing in crowded rooms while eating gas station treats will love it. Two elevators for 18 floors? I will not be returning.

Great customer service! They really took good care of me and helped me surprise my boyfriend for his birthday. One of the Best hotels in Chicago hands down. I would like to thank Will for helping me out. I will definately come back wen I visit Chicago again.

I love Hyatt Place Chicago/River North. The modern decor and clean spaces really appeal to me. I was in town alone for a conferee. The location is just a few blocks from the Convention Center so super easy to get around. I had to book a restaurant for the group I was with and the Concierge recommended a few places and I was able to make an informative choice… and it ended up being the right one. We had a great time, great food and drinks and intimate enough for 8 people.

Good hotel. Very well located. A little extreme, listen to the fire in the corner all the nights playing with the sirens, but not for this small detail and the illogical doors of the bathrooms, it would have 5 stars.
