⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐❣️❣️ was very impressed with the entire experience! will definitely be my first choice next time. I live in Chicago but just one. Go somewhere with the wife to have a good time and was highly impressed ‼️‼️
Fantastic river view. Very comfortable beds. Great location.
We had issues with your new policy involving that you can only pay with a card with a chip. The manager was not very helpful with this matter at all. We just stayed here last year and used the same card we always use. Then come this year we weren’t allowed to use it bc of some fraud charges to you guys. We werent allowed to pay with cash or use the card we planned on using. My husband uses his points to stay here and the card he has on file is his company card be he travels for work, in which we always pay with our card come check out/in time. I was very disappointed this year to find this out. There was no warning, no signs that said you had to use a card with a chip. So now we were forced to use my husbands company card for a $1200 hotel stay, or drove 3 hours back home. Not ok. There should of been way more of a warning or signs somewhere that lets people aware of this situation. We’ve came here the last 3 years and will NOT be coming back. Although I love the guys that work the door they are always so helpful, but the people at the front desk were a whole other story!
I had my wedding & reception April 26th 2003. The experience was great & everyone really enjoyed themselves! my only regret is that I didn't return 2 the hotel 4 my 1yr Anniversary. Never got the chance 2 take a honeymoon.
Great hotel, Holiday Inn, a little dated, but is up above the old sun times building, beautiful sky bar 360 view of downtown, expensive but nice. Nice big pool and hot tub, gym.
This is a great option in south east down town. Unfortunately most taxi drivers don’t know where this place is (currently). Use your maps to guide the driver. Place is clean, tidy and staff very accommodating. Not sure what to do? Ask the friendly staff for ideas — be it being a tourist visit or where can I get a certain type of food. The bar staff are also super friendly. Simply put, a great experience, do ask for ideas or help of the excellent staff. As a regular traveler, rooms are clean and have all that you need. Don’t expect 5 star but nice beds. Clean linen and comfy bed, decent bathroom facilities. Note: I only stayed in one room for a week. No complaints at all.
Beautiful Hotel, great location.
Beautiful hotel. It’s so unique and my room had a beautiful city view — awesome!
Also the registration and housekeeping staff were very friendly and professional.
Looking forward to staying again!
Very clean and updated hotel with very friendly employees in every area of the hotel. They also had the most amazing beds so comfortable!
I hadn't stayed here in awhile. Nicely updated! Great views from rooms & bar/restaurant.
One hella place the staff is great from top to bottom. Nice rooms well kept. Great views.
Great location, very clean, employees are top notch.
The staff is great, they go out of their way, to make sure everything is well. The beds are amazing. You will not be disappointed.
The rooms are clean and everything worked! The view was amazing and the staff super professional and fun! We loved Robert best! His sharp witty comments and recommendations for meals made our stay just right! 5 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great rooms, great views, well kept, friendly staff. Took a chance on the hotel while traveling solo for market and I will be back!
We blocked rooms for a wedding, the hotel was very accommodating to our group, the group breakfast we did in the restaurant was delicious, and the service was great. The rooms are a bit dated but the amazing city/river views make up for it :)
Saturday we arrived for our reservation at 3 pm. No one waited on us for several minutes, even though they were at the counter! No acknowledgement or anything. Finally the lady asked if she could help us. We had reserved two rooms and she said they were not ready yet. We asked it they would be ready by 4:00 because we were going out that night. She said no! Where do you go that your reserved rooms are not ready by 4:00 p. M.? We will not be going back!
I stayed rice w in two weekends, once in a regular room and once in a junior suite. Regular first: the room was wonderful. The beds were comfortable and at a height of 6'0" I fit in them just fine. The room was very clean, including the bathroom, which is always a plus. I did not use the shower. Junior suite: The room was delightfully spacious. We fit a bride, six bridesmaids, and a makeup artist in the space comfortably while getting ready. (They did not all sleep in the room though as there was only one bed. ) Again, the bed was very comfortable and spacious. This room was also clean, although housekeeping should check under the mattresses more often. The shower in this room was hot and with good water pressure. For both rooms though, the defining feature is probably the view. I got to see the river and city view and both were spectacular. My preference was for the river for but really, either is great. Also, I want to highlight the efforts of the staff. They went above and beyond at every step of the journey. The bellhops were speedy and courteous. The concierge was very helpful. The staff at the small convenience store in the lobby were kind, friendly, and efficient. And when reserving a block of hotel rooms for wedding guests, the sales associate with whom I worked was a dream. All in all, the staff here worked like a well oiled machine. This is a really great place to stay, regardless of your reason for visiting Chicago.
If anybody is trying to find good deals on hotels visit HoteIBully. Com booked a hotel on there and they had the best rates anywhere! My boyfriend and I stayed here this past weekend and I was amazed at the room when we walked in. The view was amazing! The rooms and the hotel itself was very clean. There was a huge TV in the room and a actually king size bed! The bed was so comfortable, it felt like I was sleeping in my own bed at home. Secretly I wanted to take it home with me! There was plenty of space in the room as well. The bathroom was beautiful and clean. It was also very quiet and sound proof. There was an elevator right next to our room and we never heard it once. We also did enjoy the bar and the beautiful view in the hotel as well. The staff where extremely friendly and nice and always said “hello” when passing one another in the hallways. I loved the fact that the hotel was on a dead end street because this allowed for us to not feel rushed when entering and exiting from ride shares. This was the best hotel I have ever stayed in in downtown Chicago. I will defiantly be back and recommend this hotel to anyone visiting.

Decent hotel with a view of the river. I've been here multiple times and it's pretty clear several of the rooms need a face lift. On my last trip I had to change rooms to get an ac that could cool the room and not drown out the TV. Don't bother with breakfast in the hotel, go elsewhere. Way, way overpriced!
The hotel is nice, modern furniture, pool, convenient store, a bar, gym and bellhops are also available. Service is great and the room has a great view of the Chicago River. Being in the heart of downtown Chicago, you're privy to the train noises late nights and the boats on the water. So if you're a lite sleeper like I am you might not consider here. But, I am enjoying my stay. The River Walk way is so beautiful it leads you to some cool restaurants along the Riverside of Chicago and the greenery is an amazing site, so beautiful.
Very nice good price great location. It has an indoor pool and nice gym for a hotel gym. Was able to walk to a lot of night life and able to stumble back home as well. Lol. I didn't go to the hotel bar or eat there so can't say anything about that. The store in the hotel was ridiculous $7 For a sandwich but that's to be expected at a hotel gift shop downtown Chicago. Parking was a good deal liked being able to park until 3pm after checkout.
Nice place… clean… quiet… comfortable bed. Would have given 5 stars but housekeeping didn't come in one day. We had to call to get clean towels etc.
I'm a part of the haute couture sewing Club. Each year we have our annual fashion show at the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza. For as long as the club has been in attendance at the Holiday Inn has treated us well as their guests. The food is good the service is good and the facilities are clean modern and well maintained. I would recommend this venue for anyone that has a big event coming up.
Great location with great views located right in merchandise mart. Hotel stay here often comes with free garage self parking. Price is competitive and on the low side while hotel rooms are nice and clean. I would say this is a hidden gem holiday inn.
Nice hotel tucked away and located on the 15th floor. I like this location and how it's connected to the merchandise mart. This helps when it's freezing in Chicago. The staff is very friendly. Marvin was there when I arrived Friday and when I left Sunday. He was helpful with parking and directions to food establishments. The entire staff including the restaurant staff were friendly but unfortunately I didn't get their names. Hotel room was clean. We needed extra towels and they were delivered within 15 minutes or less. I would definitely stay here again. Although I'm a walker everything was within walking distance, 25 minutes to magnificent mile give or take.
Enjoyed our stay, both the facility and customer service were above grade. We had prepaid for self park which was good because valet was full. Restaurant on site that had a buffet breakfast or you can order from the menu. There was a small store with a pretty good selection of snacks, beverages etc. We had a king room with river view and that was exceptional. Lobby is on the 15th floor and rooms are above that. Would definitely stay again.
Nice hotel but I expected more based on the pictures from the website. The rooms only have two smallish drawers for storing clothes. Not convenient when traveling on business for a week. The rooms are dark and could use more light. They also don't have microwaves in the rooms. The staff at the desk was excellent when I checked in (Jay). The gym has plenty of equipment for the stay, however the belts on the treadmills are not stable. They constantly slip or jerk around while walking/running.
I am staying at Mart Plaza, Chicago. I have lost a package delivered to your hotel and I am getting no help finding it. Firstly your staff made the mistake of giving the package to someone else without checking their ID and then they don't want to take any responsibility for it. All I got from security manager Carolina is that they can't do anything about it. This is the worst customer service I have experienced from any hotel. You should send your staff to other hotels to learn a few things. I am never booking with any Holiday Inn hotel again. Worst experience ever.
This is a much nicer hotel than I thought it would be. We had a king bed room facing the city and it is modern, clean, and well maintained with a fridge. The Cityscape Bar is very nice with courteous staff and surprisingly good food and drinks. The bar is well stocked as well. The food menu is a bit limited but we liked everything we tried. Will definitely stay here again.
Very nice room, clean and well organized. The service at reception is efficient. Breakfast is too expensive if you pay aside. The view of the bar is sensational. Privileged location.
Clean room, conveniently located to merchandise Mart, nice pool and workout room. Paid extra to have great view of Chicago but view isnt awesome from my room. I assume floors 20 through 23 rooms 12 through 26 has the better view because they are looking east (? ) While rooms 28+ is looking south onto railroad tracks and lesser buildings. Example 2123 must be better than 2128. Although I usually like a better brand hotel, this holiday inn is rather nice. Happy with my selection.
All staff members we interacted with were friendly, professional, and helpful. The hotel itself is in a great location — close to river walkway, restaurants, and House of Blues (reason for overnight stay). Room was very clean and bed comfortable. Would absolutely recommend this Holiday Inn and consider returning in the future.
Accommodation was fine. Unfortunately, there was only one Lüfterheizung. Unfortunately, some things were somewhat damaged like eg. The shower and the heating system. The appearance was generally somewhat old.
Nice hotel easy to get to. Entrance was a bit confusing and would of been nice to be told were our room was at. But the room was very nice and clean and the bathroom was perfect. Price was good too. I think the best part was the concierge she was so helpful and gave us tips and coupons to places I wish I knew her name. The only downfall is no hot tub in pool area. After a long day walking would of been great to soak tired feet.
The place itself was very clean.
The hotel is on the upper half of the building, and the entrance is a little confusing. The hotel is lovely. Great comfortable lobby, fantastic room views. Good location near great restaurants and close enough to walk to major attractions. Good sized mini fridge for Chicago leftovers. We happened to be there during a snow storm, so my only disappointment was that they didn't have any games or cards to check out.
Hotel had a old 60's vintage vibe throughout the hallways. Staff was very friendly. Price was reasonable for the winter season and parking was cheaper than other places. $41 overnight. Rooms were slightly smaller than others and there was no second sink outside the bathroom. Beds were extremely comfortable and soft. Decent hotel for the price.
The location is great and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I would like to recommend it further…
Very good location for visits very spacious room correct breakfast there is even a small supermarket all to inform you of visits to do on a screen we will return.
If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels go to HotelRaven. Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… Perfect location to all the tourist things to do and see in Chicago. It sits on the top of another building which is kind of cool. Views are great from at least our room. The price was also great and we did use the concierge who recommended an outstanding architecture boat tour of the city.
Very nice place to get away and just relax. This is like a winter break tradition for us. Love the pool, the breakfast and the free popcorn! Note to future guest (s) … the vending machines have cheaper snacks then the in-house store… you have been warned. Lol.
Good hotel in a central location. Great view, clean rooms.
We love the view of the Chicago skyline we had from our room… The pool was a nice addition to our stay. The room could it have had a microwave and an extra set of toiletries to avoid going to the front desk and asking for them but otherwise it was good. The room was clean, and quiet, and we sleep very comfortably.
The building itself is difficult to navigate. Because it's under construction, you have to find the right elevator/escalator to get to the fifteenth floor. Then the main lobby is to the right around the wall. I'm sure it's a nice hotel, but the fact that it's frustrating to get to the main lobby makes it seem like it's not exactly a good place. The bar, however, has the world's best view of the city, I highly recommend it, if only for the view. The drinks are heavy on alcohol, the food is pretty okay, but the view almost makes it worth it.
Good location, very comfortable.
I loved the location of the hotel. Very close to everything. We had a suite and the vriws we're incredible. They have a convenient store and bar. Both we used and we're happy with. The pool was cold! But we were able to heat up in a sauna after.
Very good place to visit.
We recently stayed at this hotel for a night with my husband and two kids ages 10 & 16. The service was outstanding! From the amazing bellman to the friendly front desk staff. Jay was able to make our check in process quick and easy with a bit of humor and a big smiling face… exactly what we all needed after a long drive into the busy hectic city of Chicago! The room was clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay and relax while being close and convenient to shopping & restaurants in the heart of Chicago!
4 stars, because the staff is amazing, otherwise would be three stars. Room (s), at least my room needs a visit from maintenance. No, I didnt request maintenance, because it is still functional. Wall paper near ac/heater peeling, ac/heater really dusty (inside where you can see fan blades and what not) showerhead leaks around the fitting, so light water stream with a cascade off the back side where fitting is leaking. Did I say the staff was amazing? From the bell hop, concierge and front desk, to the folks serving food, everyone is very friendly and energetic. It was truly refreshing.
Cane here for a party in their hall and we were able to park in front. The place looks nice and welcoming. They also have a bar and restaurant to relax and it was fun.
I went to a conference and the service was very good.
We we're at this hotel for a tech conference. Though it is a bit odd with the lobby being on the 15th floor, the staff made it easy to understand. From the bellmen on the street to the reception staff everyone was kind and helpful. The views from my room we're spectacular, and the room itself comfortable. Great experience.
Excellent hotel, especially for the price.
View of the river and the city from our room is exceptional. The staff responds to issues promptly. The location is a good walking distance to the river and ride share programs have no issues finding us. Very courteous staff.
View is phenomenal. Others complain about the room size, but it was fine for an overnight stay. You're not bumping into anything trying to squeeze by, it's just not a crazy suite of a room. The rooms were in great shape and we'll kept. Staff was friendly and parking was convenient.
Beautiful hotel (especially the lobby) in a great location. The Navy Pier was about a 35-50 minute walk, Millennium Park slightly less, and there were several great restaurants nearby. The staff was very friendly and we were able to check-in to our rooms way earlier than expected. The room itself was clean and the sound proofing seemed to be adequate as I did not hear any sounds from other guests.
The history of the … holiday inn chicago hotel. The FRIENDSHIP and the good TASTE always lingers in the TIME Gràcies marcel.
Good value for downtown Chicago on the riverfront for $250/night. However, when you arrive the building does not look like a hotel. The signage is minimal and you may think you're lost when you arrive using Google navigation. But if you look really close you'll see a small Holiday Inn sign on a wall that doesn't face the street. ONE SIGN, about 2'X 3' in size. Ridiculous. The hotel lobby is one the 15th floor a business building, kinda odd. However, it's very nice, an upscale Holiday Inn, good restaurant and bar at the hotel lobby. I'd definitely return, now that I know where it's at. Good parking across the street nearby, but bring your parking stub to check-in to get leave and return privileges for your $41/day parking fee.
This is my first time in this hotel and I am impressed. The place was clean, people were nice and the view that Teena was incredible. Best of all, it was convenient to walk to the Merchandise Mart.
First off the location is great and the view was AMAZING, get the city view you won't regret it. A couple of down sides. I booked on my IHG app, the price was a little high but not unreasonable, but when I checked in they tried charging me $400 more then my quoted rate. After 5 minutes they reduced my rate but still not as low as my confirmation quoted me but I was tired and wanted to get to my room so I just signed the paperwork to get to my room. The staff was great and polite but there was a wedding onsite and afterwards drunk wedding guests (who were not staying at the hotel) stuck around the hotel and were very rude but I can't really blame the hotel for that. The room was also pretty warm even with the A/C turned all the way down. If it wasn't for the temperature and them trying to overcharge me for my room it would have been 5 stars.
Very nice business-class hotel. A bit difficult to locate; you have to go up some hidden elevators and it isn't terrible well marked. Room was nice, with a truly exceptional view. Nice bar, again with a great view. Average restaurant. Pool is well above average. Great location. Staff has been excellent. Will stay here again.
The habiatacion was good but the hotel is a little hidden. Hard to find.
Me and my husband are very pleased all the staff was friendly, enjoy the indoor pool, sauna, fitness room, bell boy was very polite, great attitude, great river view, comfortable bed, great housekeeping, good complimentary coffee highly recommend it will definitely go back.
2 times they refused me access to my room for a paltry $ 27 charge… That has had paid! They lost a package that I got to the hotel and found it just before you check out. Two days before my departure came an employee to "help" me with my luggage that the manager informed him q already going! Good hotel, poor service.
We had an early flight and arrived around 9am. Our rooms weren't ready which is undertstandable. We came back around 1 and they told us that rooms were still not ready but were guaranteed that by 3pm they would be. I am of course fine with this since it's their policy, however at 3pm when we asked for our rooms, guess what: They were not ready! We saw several people get rooms while we waited so it was pretty frustrating to not be able to get ours. After an early flight all you want to do is rest not wait and wait and wait! I am disappointed they couldn't rush the cleaning of our room or at least have them ready by 3!
The rooms are clean, nice, and a good size. The staff are friendly and eager to help. Having to take two separate elevators to get to the ground floor is kind of a bummer, but aside from that this is an excellent hotel. Just outside the hotel there is a great view of the river and downtown Chicago. You can walk to Michigan Ave in about 20 mins, and The Loop in about 10.
Staff is very helpful. Rooms are nice and modern. Having free Wi-Fi is nice to have as well. The in-house stores and restaurants are pretty pricy but that's to be expected.
Once you've found that reception is on floor 15, it's a great and friendly hotel. Reasonable choice of eating places, decent sized gym and pool. Lovely rooms, with poorly decorated corridors. Nice and central without being in a busy area.
Great stay; very quite. Professional service, clean rooms. Waterfront — fantastic view of the Bay Bridge — day and night. Modern/zen type vibe. Competitively priced. I would definitely stay here again.
Went to see Iron Maiden on April 6th. This hotel exceeded my expectations. Great location close to all main attractions including united center. The hotel occupies floors 15 to 23. Our room was on 22. The view was spectacular overlooking city and river. Hotel provides a restaurant, a gift shop and a bar. There is no refrigerator or microwave in room. Rooms are modern, comfortable and clean. Housekeeping is great. Wi-Fi is hit or mis and could suck at times. I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay again without hesitation.
Wow, the Wi-Fi was TERRIBLE. Could only get access in the lobby, or out in the hallway. Honestly, a hotel this expensive should at least be able to provide decent Wi-Fi. I'd give it 5 stars if not for that, the place was pretty nice. But the lack of Wi-Fi made me angry the entire time I was there.
Rooms were nice and clean, but temperature control didn't work. No matter how much I turned the heat up or the ac down, the room felt the same. The Wi-Fi is mediocre, I couldn't get a strong signal in my room and my computer kept dropping connection. They don't have Ethernet ports in the room anymore, so I had to instead use a wireless bridge they provided. There's a cafe with a buffet for breakfast, but almost everything in the buffet was lukewarm at best. Cinnamon rolls were the only hot item and were tasty. Didn't eat at the cafe after that.
The location was great. Smack dab middle of where you need to go. We went after the holidays so we didn't have to deal with a lot of people which was nice. Only issue was before we checked out, the maids kept knocking and to try to clean pur room before check out. I was hungover and just didn't want to be bothered. But wasn't a game changer. Other than that it was close to perfect.
It was a nice place and had great location. The rate was also excellent for the city. We enjoyed the sky bar on site and although the beds were only doubles they were comfortable. The only reason for the 4 is that there were some wrappers in the hall when we arrived and we're still there when we left. Also, we were met in the lobby (actually on the 15th floor) by a bum coming off the elevator. The staff was friendly and informative. Parking is close and $35 for the night (I've paid more in Chicago.
Good location. Rooms seem to be remodeled but windows are leaking and water was dripping down the frames. Heater was turning on and off all night, waking up my family every 10-15 minutes. Parking was $35 per night and it is across the street, so we had to walk in the snow with a 3 year old and suite cases. Concierge was funny and helpful. Pool was nice, sauna was great. Restaurant is serving good food and room service is fast and easy. Overall not bad, but could be better.
Stayed at your motel on the weekend of 12/5/15. It was my first time to Chicago and your Motel was very nice. Fabulous views, clean rooms, great pool and spa area. You have a very nice staff and would like to give one of your desk staff a big high five. Her name was Gwen and this women is defiantly an employee that makes sure your whole experience with Holiday Inn was a memorable one. I have plans to come back because there just wasn't enough time to see everything and I will be defiantly staying at your facility. Thanks for making my first time to Chicago a great memory I will never forget. Marla.
Good hotel, with a confortable room. Well located. Good benefit for the price. Very good.
Super-great customer service. I had to both cancel and reinstate my reservation, and both customer service representatives took care of my needs with patience, grace, and efficiency. Check-in was also a breeze. Thanks, Holiday Inn!
The hotel is very well locate at downtown Chicago, close to the Loop. The room has a nice space. Although some people may complain on loud noise from the air conditioner, for me it was fine. The breakfast price was a little high, but the bar has a nice selection of local beers at a reasonable price.
The rooms are very clean and updated, staff is very friendly, beautiful views of the city, bar with a great view of the city. Conveniently located. Building is attached to the mart which is attached to the brownline. Highly recommend!
The absolute worst hotel i've ever dealt with in my life! if I could rate them lower I would. They wouldn't give my mother her money back when she cancelled. She gave plenty of notice, 2 days, and she even has a cancelation number! so now she is out 600 bucks. That's a lot of money! sometimes things happen in life and your plans change. For them to be this unaccomodating is unacceptable. They didn't help her at all. Just kept transferring her. She even ended up having someone ask for her checking acount number and social security number. That's not right. Trust me when I say you do not want to stay here!
Would definitely recommend this hotel… was there recently for work and my wife and infant came with! They were so polite to us the whole time. The coffee at the Merchant Market was great. I thought the $3 bottle of water was a little excessive but still enjoyed the whole stay there!
This hotel is the BEST in ALL of Chicago! Our room had the most AMAZING VIEWS. There were wall to wall windows overlooking main branches of the Chicago river, the Hancock Tower, Trump Tower, and Willis Tower. We were extremely impressed with the level of service we received from everybody we met: front desk staff, restaurant staff, and management. The room was incredible! It was very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and there was plenty of space. Highly recommend this hotel!
Nice renovated rooms.
Ideally take the Executives as located in the corners.
The river view is very pretty and pleasant.
Pool and gym are ok.
Had a pleasant stay, bed was very comfortable.
Cheesy low-quality cookie-cutter no water pressure bad coffee. Very expensive restaurant and bar-exercise room has equipment broken and very cheap treadmill.
Pros -clean rooms, modern design, helpful staff -good location -good price Cons -No microwave or mini refrigerator -Mild difficulties locating (for a someone new to Chicago) -No free breakfast.
Comfortable hotel with large modern rooms, and a great indoor pool and sauna area. If you don't mind walking a block over the river, use the park whiz smartphone application for parking. We found parking that ranged from $9 to $20 a night using the app, and it was not far from the hotel. Also, there's a good brunch spot a few blocks north called Brunch.
The hotel offers a complementary Wi-Fi in rooms, it sucks,, Very sloooow,, other than this,, it's a good hotel,, close to the train station and bus stops,, but I was frustrated with the worthless Wi-Fi.
Did not stay at the hotel but attended a wedding in the Wolf Point Ballroom. From start to finish, everything was great. Neat area at the front for cocktail hour. Food in the main hall was great, service was solid, space was fun with great views. Only complaints are that the hotel did not seem prepared to handle the volume of valet parking it was dealing with, and it is an odd setup to walk around to find the elevators to head upstairs for the ballroom. Still, all in all a great time.
Hotel bar and restaurant views are outstanding. I had a very pleasant stay here in Chicago. The service was excellent and the hotel hallways/ lobby was very clean and well designed. My room did not have a view and was facing to an enclosed patio. Next time I will ask for a room facing the water because it would be a great view.
If you are not having your wedding here DO NOT BOOK A WEDDING ROOM BLOCK! Let me see how I can write this without making into a book. I thought that the experience was going to be great. Things went well during the sales/booking process at the beginning (Diane even accommodated a short notice booking). Booking the rooms with Tony was fine too. Then the hotel puts a better offer on their website than what was offered on the block. So all my guests that already booked get upset because online it includes parking and my room block does not. I called to ask if that was possible and was told no. So some of my guests booked off the site instead to get the free parking…why get a room block then? If that was it I would let it go but it gets worse. Here's the list… 1. My fiancé (now husband) booked the night before to get ready at the hotel for the wedding. He said that calling the front desk for things wasn't pleasant. He only called once because he forgot toothpaste and he said they acted as if he was bothering them. Which I later experienced myself after the wedding when calling to ask about brunch at the hotel. 2. The room was very dusty and I agree with a previous review that it looked old and dirty. The pillows were really lumpy and hard to sleep on. 3. My uncle was given an occupied room. His key still worked so he opened the door on some guy watching tv. At least he wasn't naked. They compensated him with an upgraded room but still an uncomfortable situation. 4.
When it rains, the TV picture is not clear — one of those satellite 'features'. That's very annoying. It wasn't even a major storm, just some hard rain. Because of the rain, we decided to stay and have breakfast at the hotel — the 21.95 buffet. WAY overpriced and average at best. The location was fine. A little out of the way from the action but certainly walkable when not raining. The riverfront was a nice feature.
