Reviews of Central Loop Hotel 4*
Bed bugs, dirty rooms, rude staffing members. Only good thing is the location is pretty decent.
They have bed bugs. Extremely rude and are liars.
Very good customer service!
Extremely tiny room for the price. Bed was hard as wood. A few towels had dried paint on them. No refrigerator.
Our first room had a broken a/c but we got transferred to a new room quickly. Friendly staff, helpful recommendations. Clean room and bathroom. Has basic toiletries. Bring your own hair dryer. Good view from the 8th floor.
Had a wonderful breakfast at the restaurant that attached to the hotel yummy 😋…love my stay will definitely return.
Lauren Lewis was extremely helpful getting things squared away with my reservation. There was confusion on my part and she was able to help me. She has terrific people skills and obviously cares a lot about the customer experience. Lauren is a fantastic representative of the hotel. I hope other travelers have the pleasure of interacting with her. Thank you Lauren!
Fun modern hotel from old world bones offering quaint rooms and comfortable bedding. Wonderful feature, attached restaurant serving flavorful dishes with personable staff.
I find it pretty crappy that when someone books your hotel for over $400 /night to attend court the next morning and when court gets cancelled… to no fault of their own… even 24hr notice to cancel isnt enough time to not have to pay. Even when offering to show court documents. Most hotels allow you to cancel 24 hours prior to check in. When our court date does get rescheduled… you surely wont be getting my $400.
Fantastic location, excellent service and amenities. I love this location.
Beautiful Hotel! Great location in the city!
Great hotel! Would definitely stay again. Perfect location. A+++++
Not the 6'2" clearance in the parking garages, thats for sure. Parking is def an issue; I drive a pick up with a ladder rack snd need 6'8-10" and the ones that could accommodate were quite a ways away, especially if carrying luggage.
Small noisy room. Would not price match room for the current on line prices. Associates at front desk rude. Homeless staying at hotel. No security! Never again!
Cleanliness was an issue with this hotel room. Small noisy rooms. Can hear everything going on outside your room. Comforter in room was worn out and fraying. Pictures are the web are much better than they are in person.
I’m here now. The pictures on the website are false. It was clean but seemed very old. No outlets accessible at the nightstands? I use my phone as my alarm and charge over night… at my nightstand… not across the room. Bathroom seriously outdated. AND they attempted to charge me for incidentals. $50 for night 1 and $40 for each additional night… I refused! Would not recommend this hotel. I as so excited based off the pictures… so much for that. To add insult to bad exp…erience… the heat is blowing so hard I cannot get it to stop AND there isn’t a maintenance person on staff at 9:56pm The saga continues. They have moved me to a new room at 10:45 PM. They just came up with a key and said here’s your new room pack your things up and move to this room. The air-conditioner does work in this room which is good. However in my thoroughness to check the room there is a dirty pair of underwear any empty water bottle underneath my bed. And if that is missed that leads me question how clean is this room? Also when I inquired about changing the key on my phone they told me they were unable to do that until the morning because they did not have access to the system. PS I was speaking to the manager.
Hotel was clean and people at front desk were helpful. Just wasn’t what we were looking for. Small Rooms, no safe, no fridge. NO view. Bellhop didn’t show up at check in. But very economical!
Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a historic building with other tenants and is very nice. However, my room had some issues. My refrigerator didn't work and they couldn't fix it (it was like 8:30PM) but they did bring me another mini-fridge for the meantime. Issue number 2 was that the thermostat didn't work. I thought it was chilly when I entered the room so I turned on the heat and went out to dinner. When I got back it was still chilly and I noticed that no heat was coming out of the vent. The next morning was cold. I just decided to live with it for night but I brought it up to them when I checked out so they could get it fixed.
I've stayed at the Club Quarters twice. Once in the standard Queen bed room and once in the "Deluxe" room. The Deluxe room was awesome and well worth the price. The standard room was a great price for a hotel room in this area, but the actual room left a lot to be desired. It's not bad, just an average ok hotel room. For the price, location, and quality of hotel overall, this is a hard one to beat. Check it out!
Love this boutique hotel! Located in the finance district. Valet parking. Friendly down to earth staff. Nice, clean, smaller cozy rooms. Historic older building. This hotel offers free unlimited bottled water located on each floor just outside the elevators. Quiet clientele. Highly recommended! Also attached to this hotel is the fabulous Elephant and Castle pub/restaurant! The hotel sits on the corner of Clark and Adams which also has a Starbucks!
Simple, no-frills hotel, but it's very conveniently located and has reasonable rates, particularly for downtown Chicago. Easy access from the CTA. Business center in the lower level allows printing of boarding passes, and there's a decent little exercise room down there as well. Rooms are clean, simple, and workable if somewhat on the small side.
Amazing location right in the loop. Very close to downtown and many attractions nearby. Rooms are slightly small and you can hear your neighbors open their doors. Front desk lady could've been friendly, she happened to be grumpy when we checked in. Housekeeping staff are friendly. One of the best places to stay if you are willing to compromise on the room quality for a great location.
I enjoyed my, albeit short, stay at the Central Loop Hotel. The room was a little dated, but very well-stocked, cozy, and clean. Check-in was easy and they even let me check in a few hours early. Didn't take advantage of anything else at the hotel since my stay was so short, but would stay there again.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Free wine downstairs everyday from 5-6! (I am not certain on that time frame). Layout is a little odd upstairs, but the rooms are very nice! Clean, nice amenities, and water stations with water bottles available! Can't speak for all rooms, but ours didn't have a crazy fancy view. Connected to a nice little sports bar (mainly soccer) that is also super friendly, with tasty food.
For the fact that I paid almost $900 for three nights, and then was put in a low end room when I paid for the superior room seemed like they were trying to pull a fast one… the superior room is supposed to come with a kitchenette, so that was the first clue they lied and put me in the wrong room. I don’t know why you would try to do that to a customer who has clearly paid for what they want… as if I wouldn’t notice the difference. It wasn’t until I called the front desk that they agreed to put me in a “better room” which still did not qualify as a superior room (unless a microwave qualifies as a kitchenette). Additionally, the AC unit was so loud, I had to shut it off just to sleep, but then would get woken up at least an hour before my alarm because the room would get so hot. Light came into the room because the curtains don’t close all the way, so that didn’t help either. Don’t get me started on how terrible I an experience it was using the TV. Just wait and find that out for yourself. Three stars because the pillows were comfortable and free water bottles in the halls. Long story short, this was my first time in Chicago and if I ever come back, I won’t be staying here. Everything else could have still happened, but I just really did not appreciate being lied to and deliberately put in the wrong room.
Literally the only bad thing I have to say about this establishment is the fact that there is no pool. And that seems to be the case with most hotels downtown Chicago so not even something I can really complaint about. Their customer service was wonderful and the rooms were not only spacious but beautiful. Their valet was extremely expensive, however, that also seems to be the case with any parking lot in Chicago. It's conveniently located near lots of food, entertainment and subway systems/buses. Highly recommend this hotel, I would absolutely go back.
Cons: This hotel oddly had diagonal doors with narrow halls. If you and the guest in the next room was coming or going at the same time, one would have to wait. There's no way you can come out at the same time. The room was the smallest I've ever seen! I did see into a kitchenette room that was being cleaned and it was bigger. The bed wasn't comfy. I always check for bed bugs when I go to hotels. Boy was I upset that I did that. The mattress looked like it came from the alley it was so browned. The bathroom looked institutionalized. Housekeeping didn't clean our room. I had to chase her down for fresh towels. There's no iron in the room. You have to get it from a closet on your floor. Better hope it's one available. The view? It was non existent. I had to stand on the bed to look out the window. Other rooms probably has a better view. Mine just didn't. Pros: Valet was friendly and accommodating. Hotel staff was friendly. The hotel has a restaurant where we had breakfast. Food was flavorful and delicious. The hotel offers social hour from 5-6pm where you can get free wine, snacks and socialize in a lounge area. They have water bottle stations on guest floors where they provide water bottles that you can fill for free. Overall: If your only staying a night or two I recommend.
I surprised my boyfriend with a trip to Chicago last fall and we stayed at this hotel. Our flight was delayed and by the time we landed in Chicago it was 11pm. We had to check in at 4pm. I called the hotel and the staff was so kind and understanding. When we arrived the staff greeted us and told us they had be expecting us! They even upgraded our single queen bed room to a suite! The room was lovely and pretty big! This hotel has a great restaurant down stairs and its in the city close to everything! I definitely recommend this hotel if you will be traveling to Chicago soon!
Room is reasonably clean, staff friendly and helpful. My room location happened to be right by the elevator and water machine — ask to move if this happens to you because you will not get a good night's sleep. The hotel in general is pretty noisy with seemingly thin walls. The gym is 24 hours and well equipped for a hotel gym.
Really a nice boutique hotel. Rooms were small but clean and well equipped. Bathroom is tiny but worked for us. Great location and there’s an english pub connected. Staff was super sharp and friendly. They had free wine and cheese for happy hour. Not great views but we knew that coming in. We parked in structure but sounded like valet was about the same price.
Great ambient, extremely friendly and helpful staff, from the front desk crew to maintenance. The best thing about the services this hotel offers is the water fountain and bottles in each floor. It's great to have as much water as you want to drink available. I'd definitely stay here again and would certainly recommend it.
Hotel room is perfect size if you are visiting/ for work or plan to explore Chicago all day. A little smaller than I'm used to but still a great place to stay. The smart TV allows you to sign into streaming apps that you have a subscription with.
Great ammenities at no cost to the guest. Nice rooms with work space. The workstations on the lower level are really nice and they offer small conference rooms at no cost. The staff is very friendly and it's a great location to lots of activities.
Decent place. Rooms are small but clean. Love the restaurant pub downstairs. Workout room is a little lacking.
Very centrally located to everything (from mass transit to museums). Super efficient staff, self check in and check out, top standard amenities. Oh! There's also complimentary wine in the lounge downstairs.
Great location in business district so lots of access to restaurants and public places. Hotel was very clean, room also nice and upto date. Water at each elevator also a great touch.
Great location in downtown. Within walking distance to sears tower and to loop stations. Rooms are small but not too cramped. Service is excellent.
The location is ideal and they go above and beyond to provide little services that you never knew you needed. (Like bottles and filling stations on each floor at no extra charge! ) Truly great place to stay.
Great hotel! Decently priced & a good location for touring downtown! Stayed a week here with my girlfriend, the staff was really nice, the rooms were really clean, the walk in shower was amazing, they had unlimited free water bottles in the lobby of each floor too which was convenient, they even had a decent sized fitness room where I could work out everyday it was open 24 hours! I’d give 5 stars but they didn’t have a pool, I definitely recommend them though!
Nice, clean hotel. Friendly staff. Elephant and Castle restaurant in the lobby was a nice change of pace from your typical eateries.
The 4 stars to me means the hotel checked every qualification off the list. The room was clean, the staff and lobby was charming, the bar/restaurant attached was good. I'm only not giving 5 stars because to me that means going absolutely beyond expectations. I wish the bed was firmer and the sheets a little softer, the bathroom lacked a fan, and the TV would randomly reboot. Other from these minor things, the stay was great and it's in a killer location!
Excellent location. Nice rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. Free wine and cheese social hour from 5-6 each weeknight was a nice added touch that was much appreciated.
This hotel is in a great location central to most things. They offer amazong customer service and even better amenities! I was hesitant staying here since I hadn't heard of it before but now whenever visiting a city that has a Club Quarters hotel, I will always pick that.
Room was very warm upon checking in. Called front desk to inquire because only hot air was coming out of vents regardless of adjusting the thermostat. Front desk agent informed me that they don’t turn on the AC yet (mind you next week is May) because temps in Chicago are cool this time of year. Ummm, your windows are sealed shut unable to be opened. There are so many other comparable price options in this part of Chicago — would advise to steer clear of CQ!
Great location for a great price! Really close to millenium park! Would definitely stay there again! The room was a little small, but you can expect that in a big city like Chicago!
Nice hotel, very good central location. Small rooms but that wasn't a big issue for me personally. Breakfast and dinner were in the next door restaurant which had a very nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
Small but nice downtown located hotel. First impression was cup ring left on the small table. It was highlighted by the table light and really stood out. There’s no window in my room but there is a nice skylight in the foyer. Not a fan of valet parking…
Very well located, excellent to know the city, the subway is one block to go and come to the airport.
The room is plenty big enough for 2! It is clean, the coffee in the room was so nice, the shower felt great, no tub (in this room) if you need one. Jonah at the front desk has been just fantastic! Thank you for the late checkout.
Wonderful hotel. Great customer service, plenty of commendations, good rooms, reasonably priced, and lets 18 year olds check in. Location is great for subways, and room was clean and pleasant. Only downside was the app was confusing, but it wasn't necessary anyway.
The room was small, but nice. They have a water machine that you can fill a water bottle at on each floor. The price was great. I would stay again for sure.
Rooms are small, but nice. Very convenient in the downtown area. Pub next door had good food and drinks. In room dining and grub hub service was nice. Downside was the TV service is horrible.
“UNIMPRESSED” would be the summation of the weekend. It is an older hotel that is looking to impress with its technology. Unfortunately no of the said technology worked. They start with the check-in kiosk that could not find the reservation. Once we got our key we moved to the cramped quarters… which was not unexpected. However, from this point we found the television did not work. Maintenance came and could not fix it. We were told they would move us, but it never happened. The next day the TV was fixed, but had no sound. The fitness center was closed while we were their. The weekend was capped off with the guests service people insist I use the kiosk to check out even though it didn’t work. Once an employee unsuccessfully used the kiosk they finally agreed to check me out at the desk.
If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels go to HotelRaven. Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… The room was small, but nice. They have water machine that you can fill a water bottle at on each floor. The price was great. I would stay again for sure.
Room wasn't fancy, but clean and comfortable. Location was great… walkable to lots of restaurants and attractions. Staff was friendly.
Very convenient and central location of downtown Chicago, you can take very close to the bus or subway. Located in Central Loop. The millennial Park is located very close too.
I did not stay at this hotel, I just stopped by to see a friend who was staying there. Although I find a good hotel, so I commented my friend the price was good and it should also be mentioned that the hotel is centrally located, it is very close to the Milenimun Park.
Excellent location, Affordable price, Awesome staff!
This was our first time in Chicago, and we were extremely pleased. The hotel is perfectly located in Chicago's Central Loop, you can easily walk to several attractions, shopping malls, and restaurants. Whether you are coming from O'Hare or Midway, there are convenient CTA stops just a block away from the hotel (you will save money on transportation, trust me). The hotel itself has a wonderful, friendly staff; the rooms are… clean and comfortable. You’ll also find a free water station on each floor, be able to enjoy a nice gym, and business center. Check-in was a breeze and Ariane was so friendly and helpful.
I would like to personally thank Ray for being wonderfully helpful to me on several occasions when I needed directions, and suggestions on places to eat and visit. Thank you Ray, my family and I loved your recommendations.
I was worried about what I was going to find at this hotel but it truly exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend this hotel.
PS. Did I mentioned Starbucks is next door!? :)
Room is reasonably clean, staff friendly and helpful. My room loaction happened to be right by the elevator and water machine — ask to move if this happens to you because you will not get a good night's sleep. The hotel in general is pretty noisy with seemingly thin walls. The gym is 24 hours and well equipped for a hotel gym.
The room was small, but nice. They have water machine that you can fill a water bottle at on each floor. The price was great. I would stay again for sure.
Perfect hotel for me, a single traveler. I stayed there twice in July 2016, while taking the California Zephyr to and from San Francisco. I will stay there again soon this year. I booked what was called a "small room. " (I think it is now called a Club Room). Anyway, queen bed, desk, shower, mini sofa, everything I needed. I enjoyed the cold water outside my room. I think I did have a mini-fridge but not sure. Friendly staff helped me because I was new to the place. Four block stroll up Adams from Union Station. In between 2 L stations. A couple more blocks north to the Chicago Institute of Art. Many places to dine in the immediate area. I took the L twice to restaurants not a quick walk away. No problems.
Excellent location! Very good service in the front desk!
Excellent rooms, amenities and hygiene, plus an excellent location for those who want to see the city.
If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels go to HotelRaven. Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… The room was spacious and clean. Staff was friendly. We were in town for NYE and it was a convenient location for sure. I'd recommend setting up parking through spothero so you don't have to pay for their expensive overnight parking, there are tons of much cheaper garages around. Check in and check out were quick and simple. I'd stay there again.
Location is nice, tidy and clean hotel, decent Wi-Fi. Microwave and fridge in room and room service is great from the pub downstairs called the elephant and castle. The air-conditioning is extremely noisy, the TVs are small like 23 inches and pillows aren't great so overall your winding down and sleeping well ritual at the end of the day isn't catered for so well. No safes in the room but they have a work desk.
The room was spacious and clean. Staff was friendly. We were in town for NYE and it was a convenient location for sure. I'd recommend setting up parking through spothero so you don't have to pay for their expensive overnight parking, there are tons of much cheaper garages around. It is a nice hotel in function of the price, only lied to offer snacks and coffee. It was always all covered up.
Two stars at best,
"Kitchenette" left almost all to be desired. Approximately $49 upcharge for outdated mini fridge and microwave. Two mugs, smattering of silverware additional offered, Two bathroom glasses also available Mugs not cleaned or replaced after single use. No kitchen sink.
Dirty carpet. Filthy under the bed.
Subpar Wi-Fi. Halfway decent television.
Keruring provided with two wasteful pods. No tea.
No message on disposable or recyclable ability on bottles.
Decent walking distance of good restaurants.
Well the room was very small as well the price. I took an special of $70 dls. It was clean, the personal was so polite and respectful. In conclusion this hotel is one of the best in loop. At least for me. If you are looking for some comfort and good prices this is the place to go. Obviously don't spect a luxury hotel but l enjoy my stance there.
I stayed here one night and the room was completely acceptable for Chicago. Plenty of resources if you are a professional who needs to work. Since I was in town for pleasure, not business, I was in the room to sleep and shower — that's it. They offer free water and a bottling service to all guests. The only quirk to the place is there are only online reservations. I tried to walk in and book a room and was told to book online. So I stood in the lobby, five feet from the check-in counter and booked a room. Then had to wait five minutes for their computers to get the reservation, at which time I could check-in. Seemed silly, but if you don't have a smart-phone you would be out of luck.
Nice place, good price, clean and excellent location, close to points of interest in the city.
The thermostat in our room only had on/off and temperature adjustment. When we called the front desk to tell them we had it turned down and were still extremely hot they said they’d send someone up to look, an hour later nobody has come and we’re getting ready to leave, when we stop by the front desk they said “It’s an old building, you just need to turn it off, or it will just blow hot air” They knew the problem when we called but apparently didn’t feel the need to tell us. When we woke up the next morning we were all miserably hot and dehydrated from having no humidity in the room and it being about 75 degrees. Worst time ever spent in a hotel room, the heating and cooling system definitely need up graded. The website makes them look like a modern fancy hotel, when in fact they are not.
Got a cheap room for a short overnight stay. Hotel is a little dates but clean and spacious. Easy walk to shopping, restaurants and Union station as well as to the L. Bed was comfortable and has a nice alarm clock with iPhone dock and a charging station on the nightstand for multiple devices. Also had free water bottles near the elevator. Best part was the showerhead. Super powerful and made my early morning much more enjoyable.
The price is good. The double room is comfortable, they have lounge where you can work without disturbing anyone, they offer fruits, cereal bars and coffee/tea every day. If you are looking to eat healthy, compared to an American breakfast too caloric. It connects to a restaurant where you eat very well. They receive packages without charging you and deliver them to the room. It is very well located if you work in the Loop.
This is a nice hotel centrally located in the loop area of downtown Chicago. You are a short walk to millennium park, the bean, the art museum, and christkindle mart (December), and a large number of great restaurants. It's a short ride to the museum district and the the river area. The rooms are small but you don't go to Chicago to stay in your room. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. The rooms are clean and nice.
The room was lovely, clean and modern. It's a charming hotel in a fantastic location at an affordable price. My only issue is with the staff. They aren't very friendly. My first encounter with this was on the phone before check-in, where I had questions about the valet. Our first pass by the hotel had no parking, and I saw no one out front for valet service. (It's on a one-way street in downtown Chicago; there's no time to linger. ) After calling the hotel and navigating through a lengthy automated voice message system, the woman who answered the phone was rather short: there were spots out front available now for car drop-off, and they do offer valet service (as they should, with the $50+ parking fee per night). The following day, the back of our valet ticket said to dial 0 for the front desk (to relay the message to valet to pick up our vehicle. ) We provided the male, front desk worker with both our room number and our valet ticket number. It was going to take about 20 minutes for the valet to retrieve our car, which we had known about ahead of time, and were more than alright with. We waited more than 40 minutes before I approached the valet, who stated that he had never received the message from the front desk. It was then that the valet worker promptly went to retrieve our vehicle. (This means it took about an hour to get our car from the valet! ) From here, I approached the front desk and said I had a complaint.
Good location for access to transportation, but far enough from the train to not suffer from the noise. Room was small but well furnished and very usable. Friendly and accommodating staff. We were able to store our bags for free all day before checking in.
Pieces are small but it is clean, tidy and a very good attention. Excellent location (you can get to the airport by Metro-Tren). Special for people who will be little in the room and go out touring Chicago.
I was in this holiday hotel for 6 nights, the room very comfortable and clean. Good service and L care well. The location is very good and easy to find. I liked being there.
Very good, very accommodating. Love the fact that they have refrigerator's and a sink in the room. Great customer service, and nice valet. The rooms are really up to date, better than some higher end hotel's in the area. Thanks again.
Nice hotel overall. Rooms were wonderful, if small and could use a fridge and/or microwave. Guest bathroom left room to be desired. Small, outdated. Felt cheap; very similar to a carnival cruise bathroom. Underpowered toilet. All in all, would probably stay again if it was the best price, but the bathroom issues were worth at least 1 star being removed.
We had a really unfortunate visit at this hotel. Our initial price quote was not honored when we arrived, and the room that we booked through their reservation line was not what they offered when we arrived either. The manager then asked us who we called to make the reservation, as if trying to put the blame on a third party. Regardless of 'who' we called, the people we spoke with represented the hotel, so that shouldn't have even been a question that the manager tried use… as a way to dispute our original quote. We were required to leave an additional deposit, which the manager (we met upon check-in) assured we would receive back upon check-out, we didn't get that back… and the on-duty manager claimed that we'd misunderstood the other manager… typical scam tactic. When we asked for the 1st manager's name, so we could address and clear us the issue, they refused to provide a name. When we arrived in our room, at first glance, the room seemed to be in good condition. When we opened our sofa bed however, it has not been cleaned. There was smashed popcorn and hairs in the bed. They did promptly come change the sheets though. Valet parking in this location was $53 for one night. I've stayed in many downtown Chicago hotels before (including prime spot locations) and have never paid such an outrageous amount for one night of parking. All in all, I was very dissatisfied with our stay.
Excellent location, friendly, clean and comfortable. A little expensive.
If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… Most friendly and helpful receptionist ever, so lovely and great first impression of hotel. Couldn't have been more sweet, giving me directions to a function I was attending along with a helpful map, ensuring parking in car park and facilitating an early check in. Fortunately everything about the hotel was exceptional, and I don't give praise lightly. It was clean with excellent service in both hotel & bar where we had lunch and restaurant where we had dinner. Food was beyond good and great value for money and service in both places attentive and efficient. Room itself was well equipped and comfortable. I could go on and on but suffice it to say I was very pleased with my stay, and although short and sweet this time, I hope to be back for a longer visit in the future.
My first night here and absolutely hating it. First, there's no heat in the hotel. Really, no joke! They offered to put in a space heater. Seriously! This issue should be disclosed before one makes a reservation, not after someone gets settled in their room! Also the room is small, very worn, and outdated. This hotel is barely a "1 Star" property at best. I would venture to say it has to be one of poorest properties. Not worth staying here if you value your money and your health and comfort. Customers who rated this property any higher than a 2 must very low expectations.
It covered the essential needs of a hotel. Bed, bath, elevator and such were all there. The walls were very thin and unfortunately the heater was out during our stay. Fortunately, the staff explained the situation and they provided us with a space heater on request. The smart TV allowed the guest to log into they're own Netflix profile, I found that savvy. They boasted a "partnership" with seamless for in-room delivery. Overall enjoyable stay.
Mostly good. Room was pretty small but wasn't too cramped. We had to wait over 10 minutes for them to get us another pillow. When I asked for ear plugs at night they said they would send some up but when the guy came he only had a "sleep kit" which had a face mask, some tea, and a smelly oil, no ear plugs. Otherwise service was very good everyone was nice and professional.

RespondLocation is really great, close to everything you'll need. Our room was clean, the size was acceptable and there was a pretty complete kitchen in there. Will for sure be staying here again.
Overall the hotel was an OK experience for the price. The location is pretty great if you want to be in the loop area. Super close to the art institute. You can hop on the L within a block. The room was out-dated. No mini fridge, gross blankets, bouncy bed, and old furniture. The staff was somewhat friendly but not very helpful.

Location is really great, close to everything you'll need. You can easily take the subway, rent a bike or even go walking to whatever place you want to visit. Our room was clean, the size was acceptable and there was a pretty complete kitchen in there. The Wi-Fi was not good though, there was no safe box in the room, the hotel does not offer breakfast and the lady who told us this was not kind. Fortunately, you’ll find a Corner Bakery pretty close to the hotel, which offers great stuff for your breakfast for a pretty decent price. Despite the mentioned lady, the hotel staff are friendly and the hotel is good.
Very well located. Friendly staff. Fast check-in and check-out. There were some noises coming from outside, which woke me couple of times.
My room was nicely furnished with a large tv, work desk and walk in shower. There is a nice restaurant and bar in the lobby as well as a fitness center. There are complementary refillable water bottles on each floor with chilled filtered water. This is a great location for business travellers.
The rooms are small, the heaters don't work and parking is ridiculously expensive ($53/day valet — — better to self-park nearby on Federal St. ), but I still somehow enjoyed my stay. The employees there are very courteous, my bed was huge, and the hotel is relatively well-located (a little far from Wrigley but not that far from Soldier Field). Plus I got a stellar deal at $100/nt. At that price, I highly recommend it.
Very friendly staff. Rooms were average, simple decor. Things were clean. We were staying as a part of our honeymoon for just one night. Staff and guest service manager Christie made us feel welcomed with a sweet little gift in our room when we arrived. The bottled water machines are a nice addition. Also, concierge held our bags until check-in and delivered them to our room for us. Definitely recommended!
Very helpful staff. Perfect location and good hotel amenities. Great value given the proximity to the train and great cafes/restaurants. Rooms are older style but very clean.
I spent a night here this summer while in town for business. The room was understandably small, but quite comfortable. The location was great as I was able to walk down to Millennium Park and listen to a concert and enjoy the area.
Nice little hotel, front desk area is well decorated and people are friendly. It's right on Adam's and Clark by all the trains including the red line. Room was okay. They don't seem to have a two bed option. What they have is queen and full and sofa bed. So if two people are traveling and they both want their own bed then this hotel isn't the right on for you. I was debating between three or four stars. It feels more like a 3 stars, but since I had zero issues and room was cleaned often, I'm giving it a four.
The valet parking was so helpful and friendly. The concierge made us feel so comfortable being that it was just me and my daughter. Everyone there never forgot a face and would always Great us and asked how everything was going. We were on the 10th floor and both had the best sleep ever. The room was cozy and comfy. We both liked how they had the water bottle dispenser on the floor. We checked out and they kept our bags because check out is at noon but our valet parking is until 6:00. The hotel is located in the best location. We walked to the water tower mall and all up and down the magnificent mile. Great location. Definitely will be returning when we stay in downtown Chicago!

Rooms are nice. Free water and water bottles is a cool bonus. Beds are comfortable. Great location. No non-valet parking is a negative.

Small rooms but will do the job. Clean and functional. Attentive and helpful service. Appreciate the filtered water fountains on each floor together with bottle options. Perfect if you are planning to roam around the city for the day. Free luggage storage if your departure is later in the day. Very centrally located, near the blue line which takes you to the airport.
One of the older hotels downtown. Some rooms are really nice, where others not so much. The hotel is very clean. The restaurant was closed however during my 3-week stay there, and of course there was no discount for the inconvenience, or apologies for that matter. Maybe some more snacks be made available for us road-weary travelers? That's a small price to pay for satisfied customers. Overall I give them a 3 Star rating mostly due to the cost vs. The amenities (or lack of) during my stay.
The staff was very friendly and very helpful. Check in was super fast. Room was a little outdated, but very clean. Bathroom was very clean as well. Bed was comfy, room was a good size. Would definitely recommend this place to stay. A quick walk to different shops and restaurants. Will for sure be staying here again.
Overall it was a great hotel. The location was tremendous, however, the corridors and rooms were small and it was hard to regulate the temperature. It was warm in our room and it never quite cooled off. When talking with the staff about that issue they were friendly. I would probably stay again!
Price was good and friendly staff.
Some things that I didn't like was no mini fridge or microwave, the water was in a hall to be used with recycled bottles (not sealed so who knows if they are clean, if they are cleaned like the ice buckets I doubt they could be cleaned very well) so I didn't touch the water. Also found some hairs in the bed …
other than that the stay was comfortable for the night we stayed. Would probably try another hotel next time in Chicago but a good place for the price.
Nice hotel, good service and good price.
You have the possibility to ask for a room with fridge and microwave for the same price. The hotel is located in my business district so it is very quiet in the evenings and my weekend. On the other hand with the Divvy bikes, you are less than 5 minutes south of the action!
Excellent location. Walking distance to famous Michigan Ave and other popular locations. Walking distance to subway and his stops. Instead of taking the super expensive shuttle from Chicago airport to this downtown hotel, we took a subway straight to walking distance from the hotel. Very convenient and cheap.
Wonderful environment, free fast Wi-Fi, friendly staff! The rooms are a bit small but not cramped. It's an excellent place to stay!
We arrived early and checked in early without a problem. They have really nice sheets and pillows we have already looked into purchasing for our home. Full kitchenette of microwave, fridge, and sink. Nice whower with hot water. Smallish TV with no usb input. Free water bottles on every floor. Nice staff. Good attached restaurant. I would stay there again.
Dropped off my bags prior to checking in. Once upon check in, was told that my bags would be brought up to me. 35 mins and no bags. Called front desk and they apologized and offered to bring it up. 10 mins go by, still no sign of my bags. Call front desk asked again and also asked for my friends room. She got her bags and was asked if she knew where I was staying at. So clearly they can't call front desk to talk to each other and check. Called down 3rd time to ask where my bags were, they seem surprised that it hasn't been brought up yet…
We took the train in from Milwaukee to Union station, only a couple of blocks down the road is the Central Loop! Simple room with a good view, we couldn't have been happier since we planned on spending little time at the hotel. But for the accommodations, we couldn't have asked for more. Everything we visited was within 3-5 miles and we ended not taking one cab or uber with all of the views and things to see! Great bars in the area and plenty of basic stores for day to day needs make its economic price a worthwhile stay! Lastly, the staff was very professional and they we very approachable. Thanks for the wonderful visit Chicago and Central Loop!
Great staff, nice restaurant attached, amazing business center and waiting areas. Fantastic value especially for the location. A little noisy so bring your earplugs.
The location for the hotel is superb. Plenty to do within walking distance including millennium park and the atrium mall. Giordano's pizza is a must visit for pizza lovers (also a reasonable walking distance). Service at the hotel is friendly and helpful. As far as the room quality is concerned our single queen room was small but that was expected. The photos online are much flashier than the actual room. You get what you pay for here. Its nothing lavish but is for sure worth the price given the location.
Good overall value. Clean. Great location. Super small rooms. Helpful staff.
Great location in the heart of the Loop — close to the Theatre District and walking distance to the Art Institute and Millennium Park. We appreciated the free cold water in refillable bottles. The rooms are on the small side, but that's to be expected from an historic building like this. Our daughter slept on a pull-out sofa, and she said it was very comfortable. (Which isn't usually the case. ) The staff was excellent. When we needed anything, they practically had it to us before we hung up the phone! We'll stay here again.
Great, low cost hotel for the location. Rooms are small and simple, with a small desk and TV. Free Wi-Fi is available. Would have liked access to outlets on both sides of the bed, and the temperature was difficult to get to a comfortable level despite having a working thermostat in the room (there is no auto off for the air, so when the temp was too cold it blew heat and when it was too hot it blew cold air, instead of just turning off when the set temp was reached). Easy access to the red and blue MTA lines, and lots of dining nearby, including a good restaurant/bar attached to the hotel that also provides room service with no price markup. Great office facilities that offer numerous work desks and free printing (and coffee).
Good hotel, clean and central. Breakfast can be done in the adjoining sister room and ends directly on the bill.
Recommended.
After many nights driving cross country and staying in motels, we truly expected this experience to be grand. The location was great. The staff was plenty friendly, and upon first glance the hotel was really great with many amenities. However, upon entering our room, it's conditions were lackluster. Quite small, with all surfaces but the desk covered in a noticeable layer of dust. There were hairs that we're certainly not ours, on the bathroom floor and toilet seat. The toilet was clogged before we had even arrived. The water pressure was bad and the shower head no matter how it was adjusted, sprayed prominently in the corner. The sheets were the most tissue-paper-thin and lowest quality we had slept in. The soap selection was not great and they gave us just one hand towel and wash cloth. Though this hotel doubled in price of everywhere we had stayed thus far. We were disappointed at best and the uncleanliness signs left me feeling unsettled our whole stay. This hotel would truly benefit from a better cleaning service, and more attention to the details that are important to a customer's stay such as the bed and bathroom… and less attention to fancy purifying water fountains on every floor. While not so terrible in deserving a two star… it just is not worth the money.
Jesus christ worst experience by far. We are on the 3rd floor facing a freaking alley. Garbage trucks and box trucks in and out non stop its currently 11:25pm. A freaking lady is talking in her room and we can hear her like she is inside the bathroom of our room thats how shitti the walls are. Doors are basically 10 inches apart between 2 rooms 2nd day here and no sleep. So unless u r not trying to rest this is ur place.
The hotel is not soundproof, you can hear a couple having sex clearly. The hotel was OK, until I saw a receptionist lady having an argument with a poor mother. I don't know what really happen, but from what I heard there is a miscommunication between the mother and the previous receptionist about the room. The family (4 people), had a room with only one bedroom, different with what their reservation. Eventually they leave the hotel. The receptionist should not acting rude to the costumers.
Had really good experience. Hotel staff allowed to check in a few hours early at no additional cost. Room was nice, and actually bigger than expected (especially compared to some hotels in New York). Free bottled water and Wi-Fi was a plus. Location was great, walking distance to most attractions in the city. Would recommend.
Stayed here 6 nights in a row. Ambiance is below average. Rooms are very small and corridors are very narrow. But rooms are clean. If you don't mind in staying in small rooms, it should be ok. But the problem is, the sound/noise that gets through the walls. Especially when someone opens or closes the doors, the vibrations can be felt in the room and bed. One night, my neighbor happened to open and close the door few times after midnight. Every instance woke me up and ended up with a sleepless night. This happened two nights out of 6 nights of my stay. If you are not a sound sleeper, you may be betting your sleep on your neighbors schedule. Service is below average. As an example, when I checked for sweetener to go with coffee, I got a response that they do not provide it inside rooms and I need to get it from the business center in the basement. When I challenged them, it was sent out to the room. Food is good. Had a dinner from the room service and it was good. Service from the restaurant folks is really good. Overall, it is ok if you really need to stay in the middle of the Chicago downtown but would not recommend for more than few nights in a row.
Loved it loved it loved it! I loved the storage closets where I could grab extra blankets and pillows, and that they brought me a sleep machine! The skylight in my room was pretty awesome too.
I like this hotel. The rooms are nice, but small, the bottled water is good, and the staff is nice enough. There's a little coffee room in the basement that is convenient, as is the tiny workout room. So why did I give it 1 star? It's because the hotel is on a narrow alley that is filled with garbage cans and large recycling bins. Garbage collection and or bin delivery/removal is constant! All night long (really) there are trucks either dropping off or delivering heavy noisy bins. I was woken at 2:30, 3, 3:30, and finally 4:45AM by loud banging that echoed throughout the alley, set off car alarms, and of course filled my room. I guess it's my fault for not asking for a different room, but who would guess that Chicago apparently doesn't have noise laws. So, if you decide to stay here ask the desk (or look before you check in) if there are large recycling and garbage bins in the alley. If so please get a room on Adams or Clark. At least there you'll have to put up only with car noise.
Stayed at Club Quarters on Wacker a few weeks ago and noticed lint on the coffee cups in the room, didn't think much about since I don't normally use the coffee maker. But when I stayed at the Central Loop location I noticed the same thing. I decided to pretend as if I used a cup and a glass and marked them both on the bottom with a marker. When I returned to my room that evening I looked at the cup and the glass and noticed they were not replaced just wiped out with a towel that left a lot of lint. Must be common practice for this chain. Will never patronize them ever again. Not a good look Club Quarters.
I have stayed 3 nights at the Central Loop Hotel during my visit to Chicago for a conference. I booked my room via Hotwire! I am not sure about all those reviews below that complained about the staff in the hotel or the rooms, cause in fairness I had a great time. The hotel is very centrally located, Starbucks just next door, great steakhouse close by and many other restaurants. I also had a chance to go to Chicago Bulls game, which is conveniently close by public transport/taxi. The staff were amazing and very friendly, mainly Karin and Amy. The room I had was a good size one, now it was an upgrade room, with microwave and fridge + desk. The washroom is not that fancy but was clean and "ok". Personally, If I were to visit Chicago again, I will comeback again.
Our room was very comfortable with a real office seat and a superb TV. You have free cool and temperate water vending machines on each floor, the laundry is no extra charge, the business center is top with bonus stuff to nibble on weekdays and the fitness center fixtures are fine. Note that you have a shower near the fitness center so you don't have to cross the sweaty lobby to get back to your room.
Location: The hotel is two blocks from the Blue metro line which joins the airport in 30min, you have many restaurants and shops nearby and you are about 20min walk to Michigan av, Millenium Park…
The staff are welcoming, available and polite. I will be back almost to Chicago to stay at this hotel.
The worst experience in the loop so far. I went through Hotwire and I paid for my room through them and then I checked in at around midnight and the front desk charged my credit card $156 and I paid for the lady's room who was standing right behind me. AMAZING! This rude guy Emerson took $156 from my MasterCard and he used it to pay for someone else's room! I mean shouldn't he verify that he's charging your card anyway? UNBELIEVABLE! They had no record of me eve staying there when I called to complain the next day. They finally figured it out from my valet ticket. It's been a week and I still didn't get my money back. Then I was there for only eleven hours and they wouldn't give me a one hour late checkout! Then sure they have free water but you have to bottle it yourself but there were no bottles! Then the tv's are tiny and in the corner, the hallways were filthy, the rooms are small and they take to twin beds and they put them together and they call it a queen bed and my wife and I were falling in between the two beds all night and what a sewer this place is. How they got a four star rating is mystery to me.
I just stayed here for the 4th, and the price was nearly $100 less than others in the loop area. The staff was really nice and knowledgeable, and the room was very clean with contemporary style. Ill definitely check this place out again next time Im there. Well done, guys.
Great hotel! Very friendly staff! Awesome location within walking distance of shopping, tourist sights, and restaurants. Rooms are small but, they have a modern feel to them. Internet is complimentary. Bottle water stations right outside of the elevators. Rooms for the most part are quiet. I'd stay here again if visiting Chicago. Parking was within a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The rates are $24/day via self parking or $45/day for valet. If you choose the self-parking not, that you can't remove your car or you will be charged another $24. If you valet there are in/out privileges. Be aware that this is an urban location. You will see homeless people by the hotel. For the most part one can feel safe walking around the hotel.
I'm a resident of Chicago, but when I need a place to stay when friends are visiting or to just relax, this is where I go. The price is reasonable and the location is excellent. The hallways are a little tight, but the rooms are a great size. The staff here is extremely polite and very helpful. Walking distance from the shopping, theaters, and even the lake, Club Quarters is top notch.
