Cool hotel, great location. Very nice bar with tasty but expensive drinks. That is expected in this location. I do have a problem with Marriott in general. Titanium Bonvoy members used to get lounge access with happy hour breakfast and all day light snacks. Marriott is continuing to shutter all lounges indefinitely obviously to cut costs. In lieu, some properties offer breakfast at their restaurant if they have one or a few bonus points if not. This property only offers a $10 credit pp and it appears to be my burden to ask for it rather than it being automatically credited. This is not acceptable. Hilton treats me much better as a Gold member.

Not the best place to stay in downtown rather I will stay at places close to lake and river. Just they made it sound more authentic to stay.

Clean place. Friendly staff. Great drinks. Perfectly located in the heart of downtown. We could not have asked for more.

Had a enjoyable evening with good friends at the W for NYC. It was fun, festive and the staff and security were on point.

No bigger than a postage stamp — my preferences being a bonvoy member is high floor — they wouldn’t accommodate! Everyone friendly unfortunately this was my companies hotel of choice especially as it’s close to my office because I have to work over the weekend! Oh well I guess I think next time! It’s ok if you want 1 or 2 nights but I’m here 4!

I'll be honest, I expected more of a W. There isn't anything bad persay about this location, but there was not one thing that left a lasting impression. Considering the cost for a room I would have expected something more. Note that I did not visit the main lobby bar or restaurant as I dis not have the time. The room itself was nice enough, but again, nothing spectacular. I have had better experiences in other hotel brands that were not "flagships" for their chains.

Comfortable. Luxurious. Fun. The larger rooms are likely not worth the extra money. The layout really just feels like a regular room pulled out on a Taffy machine. Also, make sure you get a room facing the street. The inner courtyard is nothing to look at.

This review is mostly around the "cozy" room as the lobby, staff, and bar are fantastic. The cozy room is fairly small, but has an uncomfortably/ridiculously small bathroom (if you are over 6' tall, you aren't likely to be able to close the bathroom door while using the toilet). Couple this with some other shortcuts taken with the room (rough/small bath towels, dated/worn carpets & furniture, etc) and I'd suggest looking at other options. As my company has me booked in these class of rooms, I have no idea if the normal rooms or suites are exponentially better or not.

Really nice hotel. Clean and neat. Restaurant is expensive but delicious. The TV didn't work and I had to have someone come up twice to get it fixed. The remote didn't change the channel from the bed. That was annoying. The pillows were too soft.

Great staff! Perfect location. Construction outside is done which is nice! Rooms a bit small and no fridge in the room are only complaints. I will stay here again and recommend!

Great spot! Easy parking for free on lasalle. Drinks were a bit expensive but what do you expect? It’s downtown! The music was cool and not too loud at all. You can hold a very easy conversation with someone. The appetizers were delicious! We shall return.

Somewhat disappointed with the W Chicago — City Center. I have long respected the W brand for its unique spin on luxury hotels but sadly this hotel is leading the way for the decline of this brand. Charging 450-600$ per night for a standard room, you would expect top notch service, sadly we did not receive that. I called ahead with reservations to request a roll-away bed and was charged in advance for it. When we arrived, our room what not yet cleaned and when we got to our room once ready, there was no roll-away to be found. I had to call 4 times over a period of 6 hours before a roll-away was delivered. The room was also slightly deteriorating despite its fairly recent renovations. We waited in line for almost 10 minutes to check out before a receptionist ever came out to help. These were just a few of the service failures we experienced here on our brief stay. Sadly, I will not be returning to this location.

Good hotel room. Very comfortable bed, with the blackout shades it's nice to sleep in late here! When first walking in you may think you have come in the back way. You walk in and there is a nice but darkish bar. To the left are 2 tables, this is the front desk lobby. The check in process was efficient yet friendly. Do check out the bar, they have great food and my friends enjoyed thier cocktails.

Beyond beautiful. The hotel staff is superior. The concierge called us two weeks prior to make sure I didn’t need anything upon my arrival. They made my partner so happy upon arrival with a bouquet of balloons, congratulatory card, and chilled wine in our stateroom. We were celebrating his graduation and this made the occasion a lot more special and memorable.

This is my second time staying here and this current experience has been very disappointing. By far the worst W room that I’ve seen. Feels like I’m in a 2-Star hotel, and definitely not a W. Small room with a dingy smell, tiny bathroom. Also tried to call the Whatever/Whenever line and nobody picked up. The phone kept ringing for at least 5-10minutes. Eventually hung up and tried again 30 minutes later and got to talk to someone. My items came almost an hour later. (Realized I forgot to ask for something, but didn’t want to wait another hour, so went down to the front desk to pick it up) On a bright note, the lady that checked me in was friendly and when was very helpful in getting some extra amenities for me.

We had booked this hotel for 4 days through one of their agents. We had booked for 3 people. When we arrived right off the bat, we were told there would be a $35 per night extra fee to get a two bed room. They shirked responsibility and blamed everything on Hotwire. So why is this on us (the customer) to pony up extra if your agent makes a mistake? We felt we were defrauded. The room itself was tiny, no fridge, no microwave, no couch, not even a place to hang your coat. The washroom door is located right next to the bed so the odors of the washroom can be right there where your sleeping. Not even the door closed properly. Bad layout. There was no continental breakfast as well. There is nothing about this hotel that makes it worth the price. Very poor value. Its much more worth it to find a location outside the city and take the many forms of transportation into the city to your event. Not coming back again.

A grave disappointment of a hotel, especially considering the facilities and location are great. It’s completely ruined by poor management and staffing. The employees made mistake after mistake after mistake all while being dismissive and argumentative about everything. They didn’t mess up, you see. YOU must have done something wrong. Only after being overwhelmed by evidence (take notes when talking to them) will they begrudgingly admit things should be different. Also the rooms are only half cleaned. My wife couldn’t figure out why the hairdryer didn’t work until she discovered it was clogged by a giant clump of human hair. Also the windows were so filthy you could barely see out them (see attached). Don’t waste your time when there are loads of better hotels in a short distance. There’s a reason why this hotel is cheaper than most and poorly rated on SPG and Google.

Do not stay here. We had many issues with them. The most being the rooms were not clean… the windows were dirty and you could see dirt on the counters. I went to use the hair dryer and there was leftover old hair. We had problems with booking beforehand when we had to reschedule due to a family issue and they basically told us they were not going help. Save money people go stay at th Hyatt down the street and you probably get a better place that is less expensive and good customer service.

Customer service is top notch! Hotel room was very clean, great vibe in the bar area. It's a fantastic hotel, and I plan to stay there again very soon!

Received a free upgrade and the room was perfect. Nice soft bed with a little sofa to match. Went to the bar too and it had good drinks albeit a little pricy. Overall, a great experience.

I enjoyed my stay at the W Chicago. It seems like the renovations have wrapped up (common complaint about the hotel) I also did not find the rooms to be overly dated. My room was modern, large, and comfortable. I didn't care for the loud, club-like atmosphere in the lobby/bar, nor did I like the heavy use of air freshener in the room. Luckily the windows open in the room so that I could get a bit of fresh air! Neither of my complaints were a deal breaker, I'd definitely stay again next time I'm in Chicago.

I originally gave a 5 star review on this place which you can find below. I decided to alter my review after I was charged over double of what I was supposed to be charged without any notice. I am currently in the process of disputing the increased cost and it has severely affected my experience with this hotel and their customer service overall. I left my original review up as well because all of it still holds true (except for the 120/night part because as of right now I was actually charged 240/night plus taxes and other fees) but I also want to warn people of this situation because you might be better off going to a place that’s going to be more reliable and upfront with their charges. We paid about $120 a night for the room you see in the pictures, which was fairly big with a really nice, spacious bathroom. Lousy service for both room service and restaurant. I had to order everything from Totallaa, water, it took a long time in their service and very little dirty hygiene the bathroom.

Nice place to stay. Close to the Willis Tower and many good portions around the hotel. Rooms are on the smaller end, but I didn’t mind too much. Only negative part is they don’t have free Wi-Fi.

We stayed overnight on a Saturday and the service was excellent from check in to check out. The lobby is really great with the big bar on the middle and restaurant off to the side. Everyone was friendly and the room was very clean. Would definitely recommend it!

I have stayed at better W Hotels. The Valet service is Expensive for overnight stay, however the service was good. I expected the decor to be better, and the rooms to be larger. The shower, bathroom, and room were plain and not worth the price they charged for our stay. The facility and rooms were Clean and the staff were great also. We did enjoy our stay I'm just being Boujie.

Great downtown location. Comfortable rooms and beds. Nicely updated. Roomy and most rooms have great views. Great workspace in rooms as well.

Super friendly staff. Always a smile, greeted when entering and wished well as leaving. Room service was top notch too. The rooms are pretty modern. Definitely trendy. I'd stay here again.

Our room was nice, although very hot even when we turned down the heat as low as we could. Public areas such waiting area, elevators, and hallways feel dark rather than trendy. Hotel was under construction while we were there, so that may have some influence on these issues. The bar also was apparently closed during our stay as well. Room service was excellent, although very expensive.

Staff was awesome. Everyone was very accommodating. I will definitely stay here again. Can't wait to see the hotel again after construction is completed. 5 star visit.

Service is friendly and attentive, especially given we were staying for NYE. It's under renovation, but the room is quite spacious and modern style. Great location, close to everything downtown and to transit. The only drawback was one or two noise level issues from other guests.

Good hotel for lodging and various adjoining shops.

Although having a few drawbacks, my stay was pleasant, enjoyable and restful. The bathroom in the single that I had was cozy with a faucet that, unfortunately, prevented me from being able to wash my face. An unfortunate design choice. The mini-bar was unsurprisingly expensive but was obtrusive. I'm pretty sure there was no continental breakfast, which would have been nice. Otherwise, the rooms were comfortable and modern and I was able to rest. The staff was cheerful and helpful and the hotel had a nice lounge/restaurant. A convenience store is right across the street with fast food one block up and a nice pub/restaurant (with great food) one block down. The river is a few blocks one direction with the pier (with numerous attractions) the other direction. A good stay overall.

Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… Would like to take the time to write a review of the W City Center Hotel located on Adams Street in Chicago. I never write hotel reviews when I am traveling on business since there is rarely something that impresses me when I am staying at a hotel for work. But this is far from being the case when I stayed at the W City Center Hotel Chicago for a week long convention. This hotel is perfect in so many ways and the little details and plenty of them is really what makes the difference. First of all, the staff! The most helpful and cheerful staff I have ever met, genuinely trying to assist to your every need.   The location is perfect regardless of where you need to get in Chicago. The rooms are large and clean, the lights can be dimmed based on your preferences in the living room, bedroom and bathroom separately. The shades on each of the windows for privacy are so easy to operate. And the AC that actually works based on temperature and mode you set it to. There is a safe in the room! Many hotels in the US do not. And there are really so many more and more.

Great location! I was here for a week for work. Hotel is a bit dated for a W. Check in was being done by 1 person and I had a request before for early check in. Still had to wait 2.5 hrs and no one notified me. I was given a room that smelt bad. Upon request they changed my room which was slightly bigger, but overall a king bed room is tiny and less space. I personally would be spending my money on a newer hotel which has bigger rooms and better service.

Stayed at W Chicago-City Center for a weekend getaway. This hotel is one of the best as far as location, it is close to must see places. The decor is amazing — giant lampshade upon entering the lobby. The staff are helpful. Special mention to concierge Eden Bernal — this hotel is lucky to have her. We enjoyed Chicago and maximized our stay because of her recommendations on which tour to join, and what activities to prioritize, where to go for best blues bar in town, etc. We plan to come back here!

I was visiting my son in Chicago. I loved staying at W. Personnel was very friendly and helpful. Location was great! Rooms were clean and cozy. Bathroom was small but I did not need a lot of counter space and it did not bother us. They could use firmer pillows though but it was not a problem because I stayed there only for 3 nights.

Highly recommend staying here! Super hip, best customer service, and beautiful hotel. Everything from the room to the drinks and food are excellent.

There are lots of great hotel choices in Chicago. This is not one of them. The room needed renovation. When we turned on the air conditioner, it banged loudly. When we asked to be moved to a quiet room, we were told that we would have to pay more. We paid hundreds of dollars for four hours sleep. We won' t be back. Later found out that they tried to charge us for an umbrella that they loaned us, and which we returned. Avoid this hotel!

Really disappointed with my stay. The W in general has lost its lustre. Small room, tiny bathroom, and not enough staff at check-in and check-out. Room service was late and the order was wrong. During check-in, another customer was given a room, that already had someone in it, and the staff was insanely unhelpful, ending in a shouting match. On top of all this? Expensive. Will not stay again.

I have been attending a weekly Boot camp class run by VC Fit and held in a meeting room at the hotel. I cannot speak to the service for overnight guests, bit my experience in attending these events has been great. The facilities are beautiful and the trainers leading the classes have been friendly and provide a great workout!

This is the worst W that I've ever seen. Multiple rooms were moldy smelling. The staff did nothing when I complained about the mold except move to a different room that was also moldy. My work colleague also had the same issues. In addition to the moldy rooms, they were old and NOT remodeled. A few changes were made, but it's lipstick on the pig. Not worth the $350 price. Cheap bathroom fixtures, old tub, pleather furniture, hideous carpet and just not worth the money. The staff did nothing when I expressed my disappointment when I checked out. They looked at me like I did something wrong when I said it was the worst W hotel ever. The manager did nothing but say we will remodel soon. I wasn't expecting money back, but hey ACKNOWLEDGE that it's not up to the W standards. The only reason this is a one star is because I had to check a star to post. Not a luxury hotel. If you are expecting class and luxury don't stay here. If you like average run of the mill hotels, then don't pay what I paid. I would have been happier if I paid $150 not $350, then the EXPECTATION wouldn't have been so high.

Parking is hard to find and get to. Most garages closed at 10 which wasn't acceptable for our needs. Way too much traffic and dangerous driving. There had been a murder in the middle of the road that we had just missed and police were cleaning up. No public restrooms anywhere. It was a mess. However, pretty architecture and an awesome venue. Unique atmosphere.

Great location, affordable for something right downtown. Small rooms but honestly perfectly sufficient. Friendly staff. Early check in wasn't available but that's a nice courtesy, not something I can expect no matter what. My room want perfectly clean, and the bathroom door was damaged and difficult to open and close. The nearby train also made noise. I can't criticize that, though, that's obviously not something the hotel can control. They included some kind of white noise machine and the windows did a good job keeping the other noise out, that's all you can expect.

This hotel is great, pet friendly too! I had an issue with the A/C not being cold enough but they have an engineer department that works 24/7. We didn't get a "no" for anything we needed. And you get to use the other W Hotel's pool if you're staying here. They have blackout drapes so, don't mind the early sunrise.

I'm no world traveler, but I don't know why there have been bad reviews of this hotel. Great customer service from the reservation, to the front desk, to the room service, to the cleaning staff. Stylish rooms and lobby. Comfortable bed. Fantastic towels. The best hotel gym I've seen. Great food. I got an amazing deal on the room. Overall wonderful experience. Would totally stay again!

Went for lunch. The food was pricey for a lunch, but it was good. Don't think it was worth $20. Service was OK but nothing to write home about. Are with friends near the bar so it wasn't crowded or noisy during the lunch hour rush.

As far as SPG properties go, this specific location has been my favorite. Actually, I prefer this hotel to any Marriott or Hilton. I'm staying in the 'Wonderful Room' — cozy, posh and EXTREMELY comfortable. I'm actually disappointed in myself for how many other nights I've spent in other Chicago hotels. Happy to share specifics with anyone on the fence about whether or not to stay at this location!

Absolutely fantastic hotel experience. The feather bed was easily the most comfortable bed I've slept on and the the hotelhotel staff was uniformly warm, friendly and willing to help. Can't wait to stay again!

The W Chicago is in a convenient location downtown where it isn't too busy all day long. I enjoyed my stay very much. My room was stylish and clean. All of the staff that I had encountered during my stay were courteous and helpful. The one negative thing I have to say is that the bed in my room was not very comfortable. I ended up waking up every hour or so just to jostle myself into a more comfortable position.

Hotel was ok. I didn't stay here. Parking is horrible. I went to check in and there was no place to park. Valet was $68 a night. There was no one at the door. I didn't know whether I was talking to a hotel attendant or someone from the restaurant. Very confusing, but it's s beautiful location. I'll try again another time.

Beautiful, chic place, but it nickel and dimes you with various charges. Great products in the bathroom, dimmable accent lighting, and plenty of places to charge all of your gadgets, but you'll pay $15 a day for in room internet, $5 for a mini can of Pringles, or $10 for a bag of m&ms. There's an in room fridge, but it's completely filled with mini bar drinks to the point you can't even fit your own bottle of water. This is a marked contrast to places like Homewood Suites, which gives you free Wi-Fi, breakfast, fridge, and snacks. W Hotel, keep the body butter, but give me Wi-Fi.

Nice, clean hotel. Somewhat disappointed with the slow check-in process. Great bar, up-to-date styling. Small detail we found cool was the floor mats in the elevators are changed constantly reading "good morning", "good afternoon", "good evening"… trippy walls in the elevator! Very much enjoyed our stay!

A decent hotel that maintains the signature W club vibe. It's a bit odd getting into the elevator in the morning and feeling obligated to dance due to the trippy colors and upbeat music. The rooms are also very dark, but everything is clean and the staff is helpful.

Beautiful room on 22nd floor with all possible amenities. Room service was quick and delivered all night. Staff was excellent. Newspapers free in lobby USA Today and Wallstreet Journal. We really liked this hotel and would definitely stay here again when in Chicago.

We stayed here for one night over the weekend. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. The room was small (I mean small like two people would run into each other every other second) and smelled funny (the kinda funny that makes you wonder if your travel partner has farting issues but then you think it cannot take that long so it should be the room). The sound proofing of the rooms were aweful; multiple time during the night I woke up thinking someone's in the room only to realize that they're just walking in the hallway. Long story short, save yourself some money and book a hotel further from downtown and cab into downtown.

We just had the best experience at this hotel that we had to share it. We travel quite a bit for work and pleasure and do our best to write reviews to recognize great people and great places. For reference, we stayed at the hotel March 13 to the 14 — 2016 when we were town on business. We attended a conference most of the time we were there. There were a couple employees that were complete and total difference makers. The first guy was Adam, who worked the desk. First of all, there are really good employees and there are guys you write reviews about. Obviously he is the guy you write reviews about. This guy was awesome. In a short stay he went out of his way to make sure the hotel did everything possible to ensure we enjoyed our stay. He helped us out on a couple occasions when we're in a pinch shipping home some product we bought at a show. It made a huge difference to us and he genuinely offered and wanted to help. The other person was Brandon who was hotel security. He was a big help too. I wish I operated a hotel. If I did, I'd hire these guys in a second to run it and train the staff. They get it, they made a difference. We are writing this review because of them. Their actions will bring us back. Thank you Brandon and Adam. You were a great help to us. We really do appreciate it! The hotel is cool. The vibe is kind of swanky and the rooms are a tad small but beds are comfortable and its reasonable. I've enjoyed my stay.

My boyfriend and I stayed overnight in a Wonderful Room while we looked for apartments in Chicago. The service was great and very well organized. The room and the hotel in general was very clean. I would definitely recommend it.

I called and had the absolute worst phone service I have ever had in my entire life. Simply trying to book the nicest room/suite available — and trying to find out what dates suites were available. I was talked down to, and then hung up on. Starwood should really get it together. I am sure that they are not worried about tarnishing their stellar reputation of being a "cool" place to stay, but in the hospitality industry a little hospitality would be appreciated.

Great costumer service! Loved our room and we got two free breakfasts but the restraunt was closed due to Christmas Eve so they gave us free room service! Everybody was extremely polite and helpful with this being our first time in Chicago! Highly recommend!

Except location it was worst W hotel I have ever stayed. EXperience was worse than walk in motel. Very petite room and smells. Bad management. Stuff were racist and rude. Acted like they own the hotel.

Room was dirty. Bed was made, and there were clean towells, but the filth on the air vent, uggg. Do they even dust the room? I presented a picture to the front desk, no offer of compensation. "We'll get to that right away. " Their review page on the web is "down" My mistake for not staying at a Hilton property.

Fantastic hotel in the middle of Chicago's downtown. Close to the El. We stayed here in October and the hotel lobby is amazing. They also upgraded our rooms to the top floor at no extra charge. Our room was nice, we stayed Friday — Monday though and our room was never visited by room service. We did get fresh towels promptly though when we asked. We would definitely stay here again. Their security service sent us something quickly when we left it in our room by accident, so they deserve a mention.

I went for an event. The event staff, from catering to audio/video and room space, all of them were amazing. The event was a huge success. I stayed in a room afterward and it was a bit tight. The bathroom was small, but more than that, it was laid out in such a way that you inevitably bumped into the toilet paper roll when you went to sit down. The Internet, wired or Wi-Fi, was too expensive. Th The walls definitely didn't keep the noise out, but there was a white noise maker that seriously helped. Still, the bed was big and soft, the pillows plump. Not worth $300/night, but if you get a good deal, you're not gonna find a bigger room in the Loop.

The W is housed in a building from the 1920s, which makes for a cool lobby; however, it also makes for VERY COLD rooms. Two engineers and an on-duty manager both indicated that they are unable to control the A/C due to the age of the building and changing that system would put the hotel out of commission for several months. May I suggest, that might be necessary to make guests comfortable. Its crazy to have a frigid 65 degree hallway when it's 60 degrees outside. Even bundling up in the flimsy robe inside the "courtyard view" room (the "courtyard" is 50 feet of dead air between the back of other buildings) does not help, had to sleep in my sweats, and was awakened by the sound of the "L" running less than a block from the hotel. I reserved a prepaid rate thru Starwood; when logging in to use the free Wi-Fi, the SPG page pops up with several offers, including one for $50 less + 2 drinks + parking + Starbucks gift card. Big tease because the manager was unable to adjust my rate to match the one on the internet. The dim lighting in the lobby makes it difficult to read the newspaper, or anything else. The dreadlocked concierge was the only truly guest oriented person I encountered at this hotel.

For those wanting a room downtown Chicago this is fine but for those that are familiar with the W experience this hotel is a far cry from that standard. No Pool (and when asked about a pool at check-in, one of the employees commented that the owner prefers to hang onto the profits) Fitness center is crowded with 3 people, the equipment is the bare minimum and not taken care of I opened the door upon every entry, exit and for another guest while waiting at the valet stand (I know it's first world problems but this isn't the W experience) Lobby is crowded with furniture and difficult to navigate with other people moving about The room was dirty with thick dust and the older generation ihome had a build up of dust upon a dried spill shower handle was on upside down / hot = cold and cold = hot 1 bar of soap to share between the sink & tub towels were older and worn shower curtain is shorter than the tub and water gets out on the floor The staff seemed to be a bare minimum and not very excited about being there either — this is nothing like any of the other W Hotels I've stayed before.

Customer service provided by hotel's manager was appallingly rude. Rooms were small and worn appearing. Lastly, many services are closed in this area during the weekend since this is in the financial district.

I have stayed at this hotel on numerous times and thus far its one of the best hotels in chicago.

I got sick while I was here and the hotel staff have been amazing all day! They gave me a bucket of ice that I requested, and then when I was trying to find out if they had gatorade or some nice soup so I could start getting more liquids in my body they were so amazing and gave them to me complimentary! I really hate that I got sick today but I'm glad they have been so amazing.

This was an incredible experience from start to finish. Upon a late check-in, Jess upgraded us to an amazing room on the top floor. We felt so special! The room was spacious, swanky, and really comfortable. The on-site gym was also top notch, with special touches everywhere, from the floor mats in the elevators to the Bliss bathroom products. The housekeeping staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating as well. I have to say, however, the highlight of our entire weekend was Eden. She went out of her way to help us find our way around the city and to the places we wanted to visit. Two months prior to the trip, I had been trying to get a reservation to RPM Steak with no luck. I mentioned this to her and 15 minutes later we received a text saying we were all set for Sunday night. How did she manage to do this!? We were so impressed! RPM was amazing and topped off by sitting two tables down from Bill and G. Thank you, Eden, for making this trip spectacular.

Not only is the city amazing, but this W did not disappoint. From the chic art deco design to the rooms (get the Wow or Spectacular) I always enjoy myself. Be sure to book at least a month out to ensure the best deal. The staff is very helpful, concerned, and ready to help whenever possible.

1) Room is extremely tiny. Fine, I'm in a city. Oh wait, no — no other hotel I've stayed at in the city around what this place charges provisions such a small hotel room. It's nice, but it's tiny. It's all that I need, sure, but it's tiny. It's the cheapest one they had, sure. But it's TINY. 2) There is food by the desk in the room just stacked as if I went to the grocery store and stocked up on snacks. I understand what they're trying to do — get you to open one up and then charge you $5 for it. But it's extremely annoying to look at and quite a ridiculous ploy given how much this hotel costs a night. 3) Who's idea was it to put the check-in desk in the back corner of the lobby? You have to wade through the overly-couched waiting area to get to the check-in area and that's if you find it. Nobody told me where it was when I walked in, bags in hand. I had to go back to the front door to ask. There is a bar located where the check-in desk should be. Move the bar to the back, don't be ridiculous. 4) Internet is not free. Internet costs more per day than I pay for half a month at my house. Unreal. The hotel should know that EVERYONE will use internet and just bake it into the price of the room. 5) The shower curtain attacks you when you're in the hard to operate shower. What is wrong with proper shower doors? Why must I pay a zillion dollars a night for a hotel and then be given a shower with curtains like I'm back in college? Common.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! I stayed there last weekend and had the worst experience at a W hotel ever. I booked a fabulous room which is the highest level room before a suite. I am a gold member and usually receive a suite upon check-in and availability. The hotel was 30% booked with plenty of rooms available. I tried to check in at mid-night and had to change 6 rooms one worse then the next. I finally agreed to a room that felt like a dungeon at 5am. The hotel rooms are smaller then a NYC bathroom, they are outdated and dingy (one of the rooms I was changed to smelled like cat urine). The managers on duty were clueless and did nothing to solve any issues. This location should be removed from the W portfolio. Terrible management, terrible accommodations. I do not recommend this hotel under any circumstance, if you are looking for a W experience stay at another boutique hotel.

Nice hotel with very good location. Very good front desk and valet staff. Giving 3 stars because valet/bell dinged the car while loading stuff in the cart. Cart rolled down and hit the car. It took about an hour to "file" a report. No resolution to the report. Hotel and valet was courteous enough to write off overnight valet parking charges. Hotel staff suggested that higher ups will call back with proposed resolution to the situation. Hotel room was at par with other 4 star hotels we stayed in. Service was 4.5 star (except the ding, obviously), keeping overall rating to 3 due to loss of time waiting and pending a call back from hotel. I will change the rating based on call back from hotel.

I recently stayed at the W Hotel City Center, and had a FANTASTIC time! Not only was the location superb but the Staff was amazing. The hotel room was spacious and clean and beautiful! my only complaint was that the front desk staff was more useful and informative than the concierge desk (which is weird! but that's fine) the front desk staff knew great places and had excellent suggestions as well! Made me feel welcomed and were more than accommodating to our needs! I 100% recommend this location! just steps away from the train and right outside the door is public transit. Within walking distance to basically everything.
