Great location! Beautiful views! Close to Miracle Mile, Navy Pier and Hop On, Hop Off bus that takes you around the Loop so you can get off at many attractions. Great restaurant inside as well as Starbucks and social areas.

The staff at the Hyatt Regency Chicago was amazing during my recent stay and was so courteous and helpful in every way! I was attending a trade show there and had a large amount of items to move from a car to the show, back to my room, then to a car the next day. Every person I dealt with was accommodating, pleasant to talk to, and extremely helpful to me in moving heavy items. What could have been a nightmare for me was handled deftly by the staff and I truly appreciate each of the gentleman who helped me out. Thank you!

Unhelpful front desk that is seriously bad enough, 1st negative interaction with front staff is always bad sign, than there was the 1980s decor room…not even Ferris Buller would stay there….

That’s where the fridge is supposed to be. I called about it and they said they were out of them. I don’t buy that. The whole place including the rooms are tired and dated. Cheap pillows and bedding, no bath mat. Just not a quality property, by Hyatt Regency standards. Avoid it.

My stay was so welcoming and the staff there was so nice. I had a gift certificate that expired in May and due to COVID 19 of course I couldn't go. The staff at the Wacker Drive location Chicago, my city, honored it and extended it. I was grateful!

Loved this hotel. Beautiful rooms, courteous staff & great view from the 32nd floor! We were traveling with an Autistic child & they were very understanding & helpful in removing the mini bar from the room so we wouldn't be charged for him rearranging the items. Perfect location. We walked a lot of places, but most stuff is just a short cab ride away. We also made use of the water taxi service that drops off & picks up just down the street. We were there at the end of May for 5 days for a Psychology Conference, but managed to get in a little family vacation time as well.

It was just a disappointing experience. Rooms weren’t very impressive. Phone concierge and bell hop service was disappointing. Won’t be back. I’ll pay the extra money and stay somewhere else.

Everyone we experienced was very courteous and professional. The hors d’oeuvres we had were just outstanding.
The event that we attended held 800 people. When it was time to leave there was no problem to receive our cars to go home. I just thoughtThe service there was outstanding.

We got in super early from red-eye flight and they were accommodating, throughout the 4 day stay they were excellent and helpful.

The customer service is excellent… despite the hotel worker's strike, the Hyatt continued to run effectively and efficiently. The Market had the sweet apples I have ever had. The gift shop was a shopper's dream… I was most impressed with the old world SPA. Lana gave a fantastic massage… My room was not fully clean when I checked in. A quick call and the room was transformed.

This is a really nice hotel in a great location. It's well within walking distance to Millennium Park, the Art Institute, and more. Being right by the river walks works out nicely too! The hotel itself is awesome when you walk in. The main atrium with the restaurants and bars looks great and is very welcoming. The 'Big Bar' is nice and well worth checking out. The only reason why I'm giving this hotel 4-stars is the rooms aren't fully up to date yet. The beds are comfortable still but the room amenities could use a bit of a jolt into the 21st century and while having a mini-bar is nice, it would be nicer just to have a regular fridge since you can purchase items in the market place store downstairs. All in all the staff is great, the hotel is in a prime location. It does deserve 5-stars overall with a few upgrades. Would definitely stay again!

Sleek hotel with an overall look that is current but not overly trendy. Love the bar which has an enormous number of bottles stacked in the window (though I do wish they'd display bottles of something more interesting than vodka…). I didn't get much of a warm, personal feel here, but the staff were not unpleasant or anything; I think it has more to do with the large size of the hotel (multiple towers plus a convention center). Breakfast is nice in the cavernous lobby. Good location, just a few blocks off Michigan Avenue.

This is one of the best hotels right in the heart of downtown. The location is so convenient that you can actually 'walk' to quite a few of tourist attractions and that makes it extra special. The restaurant in the hotel serves very good food and the ambience in bar which serves great drinks. Loved the place overall. I will surely wanna stay there again & would recommend to others as well to be there during your Chicago trip.

Great place to stay, everything was close! Rooms were great except the bathroom smelled like urine! I wasn’t in the room long enough to complain just sprayed it down with my perfume (lol)! I would still recommend the hotel! It was beautiful and has amazing views!

I booked a room at the Hyatt for a meeting. The room rate was $246 per night. There was an additional charge of $25 per night for each additional guest in the room. Originally, I had planned on having my wife come along but several weeks prior we decided I would go alone. I contacted the hotel and let them know and asked them to update the registration. When I arrived, it still had my wife listed and an additional charge of $25 per night for her. I again asked them to change that and was told it was taken care of. On check out, the charge and my wife's name still appeared on the bill. I asked them to correct this and asked for a manager. I spoke to the manager who said she would take care of this. Fast forward, I was charged $271 per night on my credit care (246 + 25 for the extra person) instead of $246. After a Hyatt survey, another manager reached out to me and said they would correct this and that never took place. I challenged the charge on my credit card and Hyatt actually sent an internally created document that stated my room rate was $271 per night and not $246 in opposing my claim. Fortunately, I have the original registration that lists all of the prices. I plan on forwarding this to the state attorney general to ensure it is not a pattern of consumer fraud. I would encourage you to not stay at this hotel unless you have to and to ensure you use a reliable credit card in case they charge you inappropriately and you need to make a charge back.

The hotel is very large and crowded. The arrangement in two buildings, although connected, is not the most rational. On the first day they forgot to redo the room and in general there is not much attention in the management of the hotel. The gym is very nice on the other hand as well as the bar. When I was there, I happened to find the line to take the elevator. Let's say the experience was absolutely not negative but there are some flaws. Probably in the same area and category there are better alternatives.

I stayed in your 7-6-2018 to 7-7-2018. When I checked in I specifically told the man at the desk that I did NOT want the card I gave him charged for the room. That I would be paying cash for it. He said that was fine but I would be charged $75.00 incidental fee, and it would be released later. I said that was fine as long as the room was not charged on it. When my sister and I checked out, I myself paid for half the room in cash. My sister paid her half of the room on her separate card. The stay was good, we had no problems what so ever with that. When I looked at my account today, Mon the 9th, I was charged $349. And some odd cents by your hotel! Which over drawn my account $153.00. I called and talked to 5 people today since 930 am, it is now 231 pm. No one will help me, Everyone says tough, we are sorry. Doesn't help that you have $624.00 of my money. Supposedly the money is released, everyone has a authorization code but no one would give it to me when asked. Everyone is blaming my bank saying it is them not giving me my money. I know it is not them, it is the hotel doing it. I had to borrow money to cover the negative balance you put me in, by you taking money you said I would never be charged. I think the customer service I have received, the lies and theft is uncalled for. I also have screenshots of my account in the negative that you put me in. I feel I was done wrong in this situation. This last visit to your hotel was my third visit, also my last.

Over the phone customer service was fairly rude when I called to double check on early check in, as I had submitted the request online and had not heard back at all. In person customer service on arrival was positive and more than made up for the initial call. Accommodations were nice. Lounge area, restaurant, nor bar did I attend, but they looked nice and well maintained. Comfortable atmosphere with some great views of the river opening up into lake Michigan. Would stay again.

Awesome hotel… excellent and helpful staff always offering to assist guests with anything. The room was super clean and im picky so that was definitely a plus. Location was great and it also had 8a great bar n restaurant downstairs.

The staff were very pleasant and even upgraded my room to a junior suite when I arrived. The view from the room was great! The river view and city lights at night were fantastic. The room was clean and tidy, but the furniture was a little tired looking and the extra blanket was also a bit dated. I discovered on my last night, the walls were a little thin because I could hear my neighbors entire vacation plans/experience. I found everything else to be very nice and would be happy to stay again.

I attended a special dinner event. The place is clean. The bar patron and the service employees were wonderful and courteous.

Beautiful hotel, largest in the chain, NOT the luxury hotel it is supposed to be. We asked for more towels and the left a full set in the room and took them away unused when the maid cleaned the room. Never got to use the needed towels the rest of our stay. A room with 2 beds should have more, the bed linens were hard and stiff, the beds are made with flat sheets only so if you pull the covers off the whole bed comes undone. You would think with all the extra charges and expensive food prices they would spend a little on better sheets and towels. As a business traveler it is not a restful sleep very loud, I will NOT be staying at the Hyatt again.

My son and I had a fabulous stay while in town for a college visit. The hotel was awesome. Great location. Great service. Great rooms. I highly recommend it if you need a place in the heart of the city.

Exactly what you'd expect out of one of these hotels. Tasteful, clean, elegant with nicely laid out rooms and all of the amenities one would expect. Be mindful of the layout of the hotel since it has built in a conference Hotel format and will have you doing lots of walking to get from one place to another. Avoid room service if you can as it is rather unimpressive. Same goes for the on-site restaurants. The food is fine, but in a city like Chicago, you can do much better…

Fantastic hotel with amazing customer service. We stayed for our wedding anniversary and they upgraded our room and gave us free breakfast which was hugely generous and we were blown away by how helpful all the staff were. The hotel is well laid out and spacious. Our room was large and really clean. Breakfast at American Craft was delicious and their breakfast buffet is huge with loads of choice for all diets. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again.

We stayed here for a night as part of a weekend trip to attend a friend's wedding. We got in early (8am) and because according to the check in staff the hotel wasn't too busy — although, there were a lot of people walking around for it not be very busy — they accommodated us checking us in immediately. Because my girlfriend (who hooked the room) has status, the girl walked through the perks and made sure we understood all the benefits which I thought was very nice. She also booked us in a corner unit which had a great view. Overall the hotel was very clean and comfortable. It is centrally located and very convenient to get to major sightseeing destinations.

Lovely hotel for the NEA conference. There is a $15 fee per night for a river view upgrade, but there are adjoining doors on both sides of the room. Hearing neighbors on both sides was very disruptive to sleep in both evenings and mornings. I recommend requesting another type of room. Otherwise, it is directly river front and walking distance to Miracle Mile, The Bean, and Navy Pier. It is worth the price for the downtown location.

Nice hotel and good location to visit. Clean and modern Millenium Park and the Magnificent Mile. The dock for the boat that makes a visit to Chicago is nearby. We got a good price on despatch.

One of the most renowned hotels in the city, near the tourist spots such as the Millenium Park or shopping centers has several meeting rooms in the basement that should incorporate telephone or better Internet connection to be able to conduct conferences.

I've been here for a week. Responsive staff, friendly servers, pricy but what else would you expect for a Hyatt Regency. There's a small market a block away if you need something less expensive and, if you're like me and you're staying a while, request a refrigerator for your room. $25 for the entire length of the stay. Well worth it. Two bar areas. One smaller and quieter, one larger with great views of the city. If you can get breakfast included in your booking, do it. Great selection and an omelet bar when the hotel is busy. Come and enjoy Chicago.

A beautiful hotel with a beautiful view of the city. It can be a bit confusing to find when you try to locate it for the first time, but besides that it is a wonderful hotel. The staff was very kind and the rooms were always taken care of early in the day. The beds themselves were some of the most comfortable I've ever slept on besides mine at home. The gym was more equipped than I would have expected for a hotel and the hotel itself is not too far from many of the touristy attractions in Chicago. Also there is a pedway that runs straight underneath the west tower to Michigan plaza, which is very convenient when you want to beat the cold for a few blocks. If any of my friends were to stay in downtown Chicago, this would be the first hotel I would recommend.

We stayed at this hotel, and were pleasantly surprised. Check-in was very easy, we were able to upgrade to a room with a view for very little charge. The view was incredible. The room was reasonably priced. They had probably the best hotel beds I have experienced. The location was excellent for us as well. We were able to walk everywhere within 10 to 15 minutes. The hotel room was spacious and clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Would have liked to have a microwave.

Stayed as part of a large company meeting. The location is nice for the views, access to fun areas and great dining. The hotel common areas are very nice. Unfortunately we had cold water one morning but this was resolved by the next day. Would definitely stay here again.

This was our official hotel for our wedding. Our guests seemed to be extremely happy with the hotel, and my groom was very happy with his suite the night before the big day. Only complaint we received was the price of parking, but I am not going to knock off a star because I understand the ridiculous pricing that is downtown Chicago. So thank you to Simone as our event coordinator for taking care of everything and getting us a good price for our guests. We will recommend to friends in the future.

Very nice hotel and very well located, in the center right next to the river Chicago where you can take an architectural tour by the river $40 per person.

Hyatt Regency in Chicago is a luxury hotel that is located close enough to:
Washington Metro Station (The metro is considered an example of brutalist design, typical of the late 20th century) about 700 meters from the hotel. To reach it on foot you need to consider the season, if like me you go to Chicago in January with a temperature that reaches 20 degrees, it is hard but you can do.
Navy Pier is the area of the port where you can board for visits to Lake Michigan but mostly known for the presence of the large Ferris wheel. Very nice where you can take a walk and maybe have an ice cream or a juice, or a lunch (remember the Chicago Hot Dogs). Distance about a kilometer
The very elegant hotel has inside a Starbuks, a small supermarket, a large restaurant, a large lounge with sofas, a small gift shop.
The elevators are super fast and the view from the rooms is pan-nso to the upper floors (it's also view of the lake)
The staff is very friendly as well as all the Chicaghesi (do you say so? ).
Clean with large rooms with all sorts of comforts.
There are no smoking rooms but just outside the hotel there is a Smoking Area.

I think it is an excellent place, it has everything, a good fitness centre, several restaurants, a very central location and the deal is friendly. The optimal cleaning.

Beautiful hotel right by the river. The staff were professional, friendly, and genuinely great people! Park Millennium (across East South Water Street from the hotel) had 24hr parking for $36 which is a great deal for Chicago and the proximity. The room was awesome, but it's worth noting that the minibar was filled with sensors that charged you if anything removed from the fridge. No mini fridge or microwave for personal use in the room.

This was my second time staying here. Amazingly modern lobby with chic decor and completely professional staff. Awesome rooms with an amazing view. Awesome experience. Will visit again. Just awesome. Great part of town.

A lovely hotel in downtown Chicago, 2 towers, several restaurants and cafes, a fitness center, well-equipped meeting and negotiation rooms, 30 floors, comfortable large beds, a luxurious bathroom. Very tasty dishes in American Craft, large portions.

Large Hotel but partly disorganized.

Impressive hospitality and service. The atmosphere and views of the cityscape are delightful. The restaurant has a good selection, and is priced decently for hotel dining. The rooms are clean and comfortable, although I wish there would have been a refrigerator in the room, other than the mini bar which could not be used for personal items. Also, room service ends at 11pm, but there is a little market on the ground floor that is open later. The staff is excellent. Great overall experience, and I recommend this hotel.

Great Hotel! Right next to the Navy Pier! I would stay here again!

They goofed the room type but quickly fixed the issue. Housekeeping did a great job. The room was really nice and clean. Everyone working there was kind and helpful. Nice open areas to sit in and work, charging stations for your devices. Plenty of places nearby to sell you whatever you need.

Wife and I had an amazing anniversary stay here with a beautiful view. Staff was very accommodating, and we loved every minute of our time in this hotel. Location was excellent. Oddly enough, the hotel deep dish pizza that we ordered through room service was some of the best I've ever had. So delicious.

A lot of what I found at the Hyatt Regency was very top of the line. Just a few things like the prices of food and the bar and also the system that if mieves some chips you charge it to your acuenta of the room. I accidentally moved these chips and charged me 4 dollars.

Here the Becker Health IT Summit. Hotel staff was amazing when I checked in. He was patient, accommodating, and welcomed me. Alvin in security was engaging and helpful when I asked him for directions. He engaged me in conversation and even asked how Houston was doing, extending his thoughts and prayers. This will be my go to tho it's expensive. However, worth every cent of comfort value.

Our room was beautiful and had a view of the river but was also high enough that it was quiet and felt private. The only down side that I could find is that the restaurants are very expensive and looked like they were amazing so I left each time to get food. Other than that, a great stay and hoping to stay there in the future.

Great locating for getting to a variety of local places. Blocks from a nice selection of stores. An assortment of food in every direction. A short walk up Michigan Avenue and you can reach public spaces or Lake Michigan. Rooms are nice and accommodating. Just don't touch the snacks unless you're ready to buy them.

We love this hotel. However, this time, they missed cleaning our room one day, and the bed was in very poor shape. Also, one of the service staff at the restaurant was cleaning his nose with his fingers, and still serving. The manager handled the situation. Also, our server Marie was extremely helpful and concerned. We will be back to assure we have a better experience.

Location horrible, small rooms hideous with tiny bathroom and without even a glass, only 10 ml Showergel for 3 people, we booked X 3 people and nn there was the third bed that added after pointing out had the double sheets in a bed Single and in the already small room you could not turn! The phone didn't work, the Wi Fi only worked for 1 unit at a time! Finally, our room was on the 11th floor and the elevator arrived until 10th! 1 floor on foot and I also had walking problems when I asked to change room nn was possible! Conclusion I strongly recommend it! Bad.

Nice hotel, clean. However the reception is limited. It is really the welcome that has cooled me very much. The restaurant service in the rooms also: Nourriturr very average and expensive.

So far just okay. Mix up at check-in, fault of hotel staff. No attempt to reconcile. In fact, they overbooked the hotel and tried to pass off the "free night at another second-rate hotel" offer they were giving everyone to free up rooms here as an offer of apology to me for really screwing things up. The room is small and kind of dingy. No fridge or microwave. Had to ask for the crib we requested THREE times. Nice location.

Riverview room on the 22 floor. Hotel location is ideal to explore the city. Check-in and cleaning service was good. However, the rooms are incredibly noisy! Expect to hear every word of conversations held in adjacent rooms. The king sized bed felt somewhat worn on either side, but was firm in the middle. Will likely choose a different hotel on my next visit.

Upon arrival my girlfriend and I were greeted by valet who parked my vehicle for me. Check-in staff was extremely helpful and nice. Was able to secure a room with a beautiful view of the Chicago River. Breakfast was only $20 more and included a huge buffet (very delicious! ) with what seemed to be the most friendly waitstaff I've ever had the pleasure of being served by. The hotel itself is very nice, and as a first time guest, I will most definitely be making reservations here in the future.

Visited for business reasons. Average room, clean bathroom. I didn't partake of the breakfast so I can't rate it.

The room is lovely, and the hotel staff is courteous and helpful. It claims to be nearby the Red Line train on State and Lake, and I would say it is a 5 or 10 minute walk, which isn't too bad. There was a very large convention in town as we were arriving, but I didn't feel rushed or overlooked. In all I've this far enjoyed my stay.

The hotel is massive, with wonderful options for meetings, food and drinks. The rooms are modern and clean. I like the layout with the bed separating the work area and the desk by the window. I had a great view from the 27th floor of the West Tower. The food and service have been excellent. Ordered room service and dined at the two restaurants. Wait times for room service ranged from 30-60 minutes. The meeting rooms were adequate — the meeting organizer underestimated the number attendees for some sessions, but at no fault of the hotel. The hotel is undergoing updates so there is evidence of construction. However I neither heard nor felt disrupted by it. The only times I noticed it was during my workouts as you have to walk through the construction area to get to the gym room, which is pretty basic.

I had a wonderful stay there over the weekend. The hotel itself was beautiful and welcoming. The view from our hotel was gourgous. Everything was within walking distance so we had no use for our car. The bed and pillows were very clean and comfortable and the towels were so soft. Customer service was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Located a few blocks North of Millennium Park, this facility provided us a wonderful view of the river/Lake Michigan from our perch on the 17the floor. The rooms were recently renovated in a flashy modern decor with upscale features such as Aeron office chairs and a cream leather chair/ottoman combination in front of the tall window at the edge of the room. Staying here finds you near many of Chicago's destinations (shopping, parks, landmarks, etc), so we didn't spend much time at the Hyatt facility during our short stay. But, as with other Hyatt Regency's we've frequented, we had no complaints and would recommend it to anyone.

Stayed here for a weekend. Staff was very polite and accommodating. The place was very clean. We stayed on the 14th floor of the west tower and we had beautiful views of the city/river/and lake. The room service and restaraunt food was surprisingly good! Location was very central and walking distance to a lot of attractions, shops and restaurants. Would definitely recommend.

I was very impressed by this Hyatt. It is in a great location in Chicago so everything worth seeing is in walking distance. The room had a great view, was very clean, and was well appointed. We even visited two of the restaurants downstairs in the lobby and had two spectacular meals.

The interior hotel staff was extremely friendly. Room was clean. Pillows, linens and towels were nice and apparently new. All interior staff was versed in knowledge of the hotel and surrounding areas. I recommend staying here and plan to myself again when going to Chicago. The only downfall of this hotel was the valet service. Numerous times I overheard other guest complaining that their vehicle had been ransacked. Items missing, bags gone through, stuff in their console and glove compartment all in disarray and not how they had left it. On my final day, as I’m picking up my vehicle for the last time, my hood was popped, and my trunk was wide open when they drove up with my car?! I had ask the head tenant outside "why in the world would my hood need popped and my trunk open?! " His reply was "he must've bumped it getting out of your car. " Not in my car, you physically have to pull the latch for both, tucked under the dash by the center console… I didn’t notice if anything was missing at first glance (and thankfully not after returning home) but I did notice the bags I had stored in the trunk from previous days of shopping were all dumped out all over my trunk?! I would have given this 5 stars if it wasn’t for this. It should be a 5 star hotel rating and most likely will be the next time, because I will not use the valet.

The hotel has an elegant interior and welcoming atmosphere. Staff is attentive without being "in your face. " It's also located near some Chicago hot spots. Overall, it's a nice establishment and I would recommend it to those who could afford it.

I went to the hyatt regency in chicago to a Convention, and a private party. Which were very successful and gave me much liked to attend and be part of it. Fuel Saturday feb 27. Polite very comfortable and very well looked after.

It's a nice hotel in a nice location. Vallet Parking is a joke. Hotel was $130 a night, me and my friend drove seperately, our 2 cars at $65 a piece was over $130 if you consider tips. I don't understand how the hotel can charge you the same rate for your room as your car to stay in a parking lot. Just be prepared to spend an extra $200 on your car if you stay for a 3 day weekend. Think about this. My friend and I split a room and went out for the night. $65 a peice for the room, bar tab was $60, and parking cost me $70. The most expensive part of my night was parking my car. What a scam.

We love staying here. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and contemporary. I personally think that needing to use your key card to activate the elevator and only for your floor is a wonder safety feature. The Hyatt is right in the middle of everything we need, and only a short walk or quick cab ride to many places. Great Staff from arrival to departure. 4 star hotel with 3 star prices!

I always enjoy staying at Hyatt Regency Chicago. The staff is very attentive and welcoming and I've never had an issue with a room even after staying in >20 different rooms. The Regency Club also is quite nice and has some great hors dourves. It's a big business hotel so my experience is likely fairly typical despite having the highest loyalty status.

The bar area was busy and bustling for a Monday night. The drink selection was good and the prices weren't bad. Our server was very friendly and helpful. The restrooms were clean and accommodating. It's a decent place to hang out and have some drinks if you find yourself here.

One of Chicago's most noted locations for banquets, meetings, and events, this hotel is near the highly-acclaimed Michigan Avenue shopping district and the Loop business and commercial area. It's a short walk from Michigan Ave. Where you can easily access a bus. Cabs are always waiting nearby the hotel to take passengers. When the weather is warm, you might enjoy a nice stroll to your destination. The lobby is recently-updated and quite comfortable to meet with friends or wait for someone.

This stay was a gift from my parents & husband for my 30th birthday. Upon check in I realized that this was going to be a rough one when "Peter", the clerk checking us in was extremely rude. We were spoke down to in a very snobbish way. If you aren't rich or appear to be rich don't expect the "Great service" they talk about. He made us feel so small with how he spoke down to us. He then preceded to tell us about a hold they needed to place on our card (we were paying with a visa gift card). I am aware of an 'incidentals hold' since I have worked in Hotels in the past. He said if we place the hold on the gift card then we would never get it back so he wanted to put it on our personal debit card. So we paid with the gift card for the room and put the hold on our debit card. Once we got to our room we were not happy since the pictures online do NOT match the rooms. There was even a muddy 1/2 foot print on our sheets yuck! Plus, we had very loud people next to us, the walls here are paper thin! I called down to the front desk and spoke with 'Molly' she moved us rooms and our second room was a bit better than the first cleanliness wise. Later that evening we took a taxi to go see the Blue Man Group at the briar street theater (awesome by the way! ). The gift card which should have had about $50 remaining on it was declined at the cab. I immediately called the 800 number on the card and the Hyatt Regency had OVER CHARGED US!

If the price is right stay here. You can check in early, we did at 10 and extend checkout to 2pm. They can also hold bags at the bellhop later. The location is near the bean and the train stations, about a 10min walk.

I am not a fan of leaving reviews but I have to for the Hyatt Regency on Wacker. I'm currently staying there (12/29/15) and am truly disappointed. I don't expect much when traveling, I really don't, however I do expect honesty. Either the staff has no clue or the Hyatt brand is flat out misleading consumers. I booked a "deluxe" room at a slightly higher rate and upon check in was not the least bit enthusiastic about the room I was given. I went back to the front desk and politely asked if I had been given a "deluxe" room to which I was told they are absolutely no different than standard rooms. The pictures of the rooms are clearly just an example of better editing when I looked closer. Same in every way except the magic of Photoshop. Whatever, not an issue, a mere $12 more is not a concern. My concern is that they can offer a room that does not exist. If I wasn't with my son I would have went back down and asked to be shown a deluxe room. I don't want to start our father son getaway on a bad note so I'll move on. However, Hyatt will never receive a recommendation from me and I will be sure to negatively review this particular hotel everywhere I possibly can. The hotel is in an average location for Chicago. There are PLENTY to choose from within a 5 minute walk. Don't base your stay based solely on location. The lobby area is very nice. Plenty of food and beverage options. By far the nicest element to the hotel.

Without a doubt, it was the best hotel experience I've ever had. They found out we came to Chicago as a birthday present to my girlfriend's daughter, and they brought a cupcake and cookies to the room to surprise us. It made her whole day! Great customer service and everyone was friendly and helpful. We will be going back and recommending it to every friend heading to Chicago.

Great location right downtown by the river. The lobby is active and lively and makes you feel like you are in the right place. Room was nice, clean, and comfortable. View could have been better since I was on the back side looking at an office building, but I didn't pay extra for the river view.

Fancy, impressive hotel in a GREAT location but it's a bit shabby/old… finishes & fixtures need replaced or updated. There's chipped paint, untidy elevators & chipped furniture but the staff here is extremely pleasant. Parking rates at $63 a night are ridiculous.

The Hyatt Regency resides in a beautiful part of Chicago, but not the most convenient part. When getting in, it took a mammoth effort from our cabbie to fight or way there through the traffic. Pedestrians, dogs, other cars, bikes all tried to going themselves at high speeds into the path of our cab. This wouldn't be a problem, but considering the Hyatts location, it seemed to be an almost daily occurrence. More specifically, the problem was exacerbated when there was a movie being shot a block east of the hotel, making anything but foot traffic pretty much impassible. After almost causing 6 accidents in the first 24 hours, the check in process was smooth, the mini bar in our room was ridiculously overpriced, and all the staff seemed to constantly be in a hurry but nobody was rushing to actually help guests. As for my room, I was reassigned far away from the delegates I came with for my conference, as they cited maintenance was needed on the floor we were supposed to stay on. This was not communicated to us until we got to the hotel, which was inconvenient because of the collaboration we needed. It was also odd to be able to see people working so oddly close in the building next door. Very unnerving. All in all, once you get there and get settled, it's quite relaxing. Before that though, it's tough. I guess that's just Chicago. Last word of advice, the bathroom floors get super slippery. Take that as a warning.

I stayed at this Hyatt Regency location this past weekend (11/14/2015 — 11/15/2015) and I must say that everything seemed to be going great until I discovered a BED BUG crawling on top of my sheet. When I went to complain to the front desk — the manager took the matter very seriously but I felt as if I was being blamed for bring this disgusting bug into the hotel — He then sent someone up who also made me feel like I was the one who brought this bug into my room. I honestly couldn't believe it — They never pointed a finger at me but I felt like they were. In the end they refunded me for one night of the two… I feel like $88 isn't enough to be honest — because my stuff is potentially infected with bed bugs — Anyway, definitely never staying here again. Gross.

If any of you guys are looking for dirt cheap hotel deals I would check out HotelRaven. Com I saved a ton of money using that site. This was a great, well kept hotel. The service was exceptional. The employees were friendly and very fast. If I had one complaint, it would be about the television in the room. My husband and I stayed here for the 2015 Chicago Marathon. We are generally fans of Hyatt Hotels with the exception of this one. This hotel was very disappointing and more like a Comfort Inn than the typical Hyatt. It all started when we checked in and they told us they didn't have the room we had reserved. Instead they put us in a room below the service areas and all night we heard the pulleys of the elevator. In the middle of the night we demanded our room be moved. The front desk person acted as if she was doing us a favor by "upgrading" us to the room we had actually reserved. This kind of thing can happen anywhere I suppose by there are many other problems at this hotel. Our television was a joke. An old Panasonic flat screen with a Pixelated image. A telephone that buzzed so loudly when we called the front desk that they yelled "I can't hear you" and hung up on us. There was also a rather rude fellow at the bell desk who was condescending and raised his voice to guests. Housekeeping also forgot to clean our room the first day and the housekeeper, instead of making a call to her supervisor to find out why, simply told us nobody would be cleaning our room that day. My take away on this particular Hyatt is that they are are stuck in the dark ages of hotels. H.

To all the event planners and corporate event planners, This is the worst place for your events in terms of theft. We were there this July for the 50th SCUP conference. I left my big bag under our booth against curtained wall. When I looked for my purse, It was already gone. It was stolen from behind the curtain area in which only internal staff would go in and out of. Two Hispanic women were caught in the camera at the Target Store trying to charge my credit card but the hotel said the picture was not clear enough to identify as their employees. There were just exhibitors standing outside the curtained wall and we had no reason to go behind our showroom area, so who else would do this? This is something new to me and I go to conference and work at the booth all the time. Please be careful with your belongings oyu leave under the booth table specially when you don't know what's behind your exhibitor space. It is not safe!

Stayed here for a recent getaway with husband. Was able to check in really early since our arrival off our train was a few hours before check in time. Free baggage storage at bell desk at checkout time while waiting for our train departure. Overall the hotel was good. I didn't think it was anything special and honestly enjoy the Hampton Inn by O'Hare more, besides it takes some traveling to get into the city. The location of the hotel is great and the view from my room was beautiful. A walk by the river is just a couple minutes from your room. The fitness center was satisfactory. Many of the reviews state that Wi-Fi is an up charge but that was not the case. We did get free Wi-Fi. The room was clean and there were plenty of fluffy pillows which made me happy as a person who must sleep with several. If you want to watch TV though and unwind from the city, forget it. It's not available unless you want to purchase a movie (on a really outdated television if that matters to you. ) We had a room near the elevators so I expected a little noise — but the soundproofing was horrible. I had to download a sleep sound app on my phone to get to sleep. There was no refrigerator. I hated this. No option to bring your own healthy food which is something important to me. So I was left to eat out our whole stay and never return with any leftovers. They have a rather large bar but we never got to drink at it because it is so busy at night.

This hotel has all of the expected amenities. But I was not a fan of how they tried to coerce me to pay for the premium services. Just because there is not a refrigerator in the room, I am still not going to pay for your "goodies".

Stay away. The room I got in wasn't clean from the previous guest. They charged me for things I didn't order. They took over a thousand dollars of security without letting me know. They also charged for things like shipping (moving a package I got from amazon to the basement… So it was shipped further away from my room and yet I was charged 7 dollars). The staff wasn't friendly and the overall value is terrible. I would have been happier staying in a cheap motel. What a terrible place to stay in.

Awesome location, tough to beat! Truly are in the middle of everything, next to Millennial Park, one block from Michigan Ave… would definitely stay here again despite the costly parking which is part for downtown Chicago. Our trip happened to coincide to Chicago winning the Stanley Cup and we checked in the day of the parade which was a true mad house in the lobby… because the actual Stanley cup was on display there! Very accommodating staff, modern decor, immaculate rooms, lobby and common areas. The lounge area on the bridge is great for meeting up with friends!

Ridiculously on-point. Everything was clean. Food x 2 was great. Didn't wait for anything. Didn't need or want for anything. And even on a Valentine's Day weekend staying in the room by myself, I didn't wait for any request, including valet, wake-up calls or room service. Superb experience. High-quality food, room with a great view and peace-and-quiet, all very, very important. I choose this over the Fairmont. I'll be back in Chicago to visit from Manhattan again in June.

Meh. Not worth the "great" reviews in my opinion. The bathtub was blocked with hair and we had to call them to come clean it. The bathroom was not supplied with enough towels, the bed wasn't the most comfortable either. Oh and $59 for overnight parking isn't reasonable at all. Won't be coming back.

Clean, friendly staff, bed was comfortable, room temperature was fine. We had no trouble with checking in and out, charges were correct. Location is perfect for shopping and dining and site seeing. I recommend staying on an upper floor, because you can hear people in the hallway and in other rooms. It's pretty noisy! It is an expensive hotel, but about what you expect to pay in downtown Chicago.

I truly don't understand why there are so many positive reviews for this hotel. I recently stayed here for a work-related conference, and was completely underwhelmed. Perhaps I've been spoiled by staying at hotels around the world, but many of those have been much cheaper, more simplistic hotel chains, many of which I feel are a better value. The room had horrible sound insulation, outdated furniture, and an incredibly uncomfortable bed. The only positive of my stay was the breakfast buffet at the lobby restaurant, however, it cost over $20.00. There are plenty of other choices in the Chicago area.

This is a bargain hotel at a premium hotel price. Problems: 1) The water pressure in the shower is terrible. 2) Very poor sound insulation between rooms poor sound insulation from the outside. The hotel is directly in the path of departing flights so if your room is on the back side of the hotel every 30 seconds there is a loud sound of a departing flight. You are close enough to clearly hear the sound of landing gear being retracted up. Street traffic is also easily audible. 3. I had a similar experience as many other reviewers where I did not get the type of room that I actually booked (queen bed instead of King, no apology or discount BTW). 4. TV was very frustrating to work — Non-HD. Full 2-3 second delay between changing channels. 5. Wall paper was pealing/bubbling up in several areas. 6. Internet was VEEEERY slow and unreliable. Think old school dial up. 6. Staff not helpful in trying to trouble shoot any of the above issues. All things I would expect at a motel. I would not stay here again.

We stayed here in May of this year. When we arrived off the train (it was still an hour before the check-in time), we had no problems. We expected them to tell us we had to wait, but nope! The room was beautiful! While on the train earlier that morning, I politely requested a room with a river view. If they had one available. They actually gave it to us. The staff was polite and very helpful. The bed was a little bit harder than I like, but. It's a hotel room, what do ya expect? The only problem we had was when we checked out, they charged us for the room again, even though I paid MONTHS in advance. It's a good thing I had the reciept still in my email! The problem was resolved, but it took 6 weeks to get the refund! That's the only reason I gave this a 4/5 star. Otherwise, this is a wonderful place with a great price.

Here the South side, 500 meters is Millennium Park, cloud gate, and 800 metres is the Chicago Arts Center; and the West 50 feet of North Michigan Street; North side of the Chicago River; the East side of 1 km is Lake Michigan, and 1.3 miles Navy Pier! Location is very good, but a car must note that nearby Parking is expensive: at $ 52 a night! Business is very good, every night, to 12 points was also registered, Or check in or the check out is very efficent on!
