Knights Inn Ottawa Hotel

I stayed here for two nights and they were comfortable nights. The bed was king size and the room large, complete with a comfortable recliner. The bathroom was also large but a bit old fashioned. The spigot in the tub spat water while you were trying to shower, and the shower head was lower than average, but the curtain bowed out to give you more room and the water was hot. Don't expect terribly many amenities; there's a tiny fridge and a microwave along with a tiny coffee pot. Ice and a continental breakfast are avaliable. Housekeeping came by at 9:40, which seemed a bit early to me. They respected the Do No Disturb sign on the second day though (we hadn't put it out the first, my bad). There's a pool but it's outdoors and since we visited in February we didn't get a chance to use it. The location is pretty good. It's not close to the highway so you won't get much road noise. Shops and restaurants are within walking distance. It's on the main street so it's not hard to find. Overall, this inn was a great value.

Poor cleaning services looks like they just ran through it real quick like they do not come in every morning and change the bedding I have to go get my own trash bags take out my own trash sweep my own floor or vacuum provide my own vacuum bathroom could have been way cleaner frigerator had rest on the bottom of it all in all for $60 a night I shouldn't have to do anything and my bedding should be changed every morning.

Clean but very old. Good place to stop if traveling for nights rest. Quiet place to stop.

The place was clean and the staff were helpful and I would stay agin.

My husband and I stayed here in November 2016 and were very satisfied with everything from the staff to the location. We stayed here this November (2017) and found that the mattresses had been changed to extra firm and they were hard as a rock, the box springs for the bed had been replaced by metal locker type material that made a horrible thump like banging a steel drum everytime you made a movement on the bed. We asked to be changed to a different room and were informed that all of the beds had been changed to the same style. We had to go buy a mattress pad to be able to enjoy the rest of our stay. The staff would ask us if we needed anything changed every morning or if we wanted the room cleaned, but they would not come in and do it unless we told them exactly what needed to be done. We really enjoyed our stay last year but this year it was a nightmare.

The place is nice and clean. But they have poor customer service. We advised we needed late check out due to our ride being 10 min away and they made us wait out in the cold.

Mr. And Mrs. Patel are extremely hospitable and keep the hotel nice and clean.

Needs cleaned bad. Carpet needs cleaned. Toilet didn't work well. Shower head is ok if your 4 1/2' tall.

I don't require fancy, but I do require clean. The room was a dive! Non-smoking, but smelled of smoke. The folks in the neighboring room backed their pickup in front of our room and sat on the tailgate smoking… constantly. Wall paint by nightstand marred big time, phone was filthy, inside of door and door frame was grubby, a squashed bug on the sheets, dead bugs on floor in bathroom and main room, carpet soiled throughout, floor uneven, like the concrete under the carpet had holes and major cracks. Complained and they did move us to the handicapped room, which was better. Would not recommend this place and will not be staying here again. We chose this place because of the positive reviews. Positive would not describe what we found! I don't know why, but the site is not putting the pictures I uploaded on this review.

The best property in Ottawa and I've stayed at them all. Grew up in Ottawa but have lived out of state for 13 years, so visit family often. All Ottawa hotels are budget, mid-tier. Knights Inn is a budget hotel but stands out among them all. The rooms are big and very clean, with DIRECTV, nice pillows and great breakfast. I didn't stay at Knights Inn right away because I thought it would be too loud being close to Main Street and seemed small — but I wish I booked it from the beginning, 13 years ago! Impressive rooms, comfortable, clean, great price. Plus, the managers, Mr. And Mrs. Patel are wonderful. Stay here, you won't be disappointed!

Extremely clean room. I am from out of state and will definitely book here again next time Im in town. Very nice and polite staff as well. Please give them a shot, you will not be disappointed.

As soon as we got into the room I checked the beds and both had extreme cases of bed bugs! Nesting in the corners of the mattresses and crawling all over the beds.

Did not stay long. Bed was full of bedbugs.

Horrible. Blood on the blankets, toilet didn't work nor did the heat. When we complained management yelled at us saying there was nothing wrong. I wish I could give them 0 stars.

Personable staff. Nice and quiet location. Comfortable beds. Morning revealed 10 bedbug bites. Eye swollen. Beware! Check your bed before laying down on it.

First off I want to say that all the reviews that you read on this or fake fake fake. It's either that or they leave the really filthy rooms for the truck drivers that have been on the road all day and then come here and walk into a room full of cockroach traps. The room literally smell like s*** there's a whole lot of things I could say but the best decision I made was to leave and go down the street to the Best Western. Listen I didn't even try to get my money back. Listen to me Indian people just because you live filthy in your country don't assume that Americans live this way every indian-owned Motel I stay at is always f****** filthy. Never again!

My friends was at the place was nice clean and very quiet no disturbance.

Nice place for to stay for the most part. Went down REPEATEDLY to the office to pay for my room another night and each time there was either no one in the office or it was locked. Major pain in my butt and unprofessional.

I reserved the room for 4 nights and found it quaint, relatively quiet, and private. At the time I checked in, the guy at the front desk was friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and seemed genuinely concerned about my stay. One of the two ice machines was broken, and he said so up front, and told me that they were just awaiting a part. I selected the hotel on the basis that it was closer to downtown, where my personal business took me. It was fully away from the highway, and so the sounds of traffic were absent. In fact, the summer heat brought out the cicadas and they were louder than any of the surrounding noises, though I wouldn't classify that as unnecessarily loud. Most of the rooms are back away from the streets, and traffic is low anyway. I had scarcely any trouble getting in or out of the parking lot at any time of day (and I specifically checked rush hour). The room itself was spotless, and there was a faintly exotic but pleasant scent that reminded me a little of lavender… my favorite scent! The outlets were hidden but accessible, there was more than ample desk space, and though I packed too much clothing it filled only about half of the small dresser. The A/C system was average for the kind of hotel, but relatively new and completely operational. No complaints there: I had the room comfortable and to my liking.

I needed a night away from the stress in my household. I got there. Unpacked and realised there was animal hair ALL over the floor. I went to the front desk and asked to vacuum. He walked with me passed my room to the utility closet then proceeded to hand me the vacuum. I was a little confused but we walked to my room… where he watched me vacuum my own room! My husband called to complain. The man ROBERT posed as a manager and proceeded to tell him that I could pack my stuff and get out. In appalled by the treatment of this place. I will never ever be returned. They are NOT accredited by the BETTER Business bureau. So is I'll be contacting them as well. If you book a room be prepared to clean your own room.
