I haven't stayed in the Clarion Inn in Pocatello ID in a while. Wow, this place is super dirty now. Everything in the room is sticky; huge stains on the carpet, upholstered chair, footrest, and desk chair. Poorly made bed (not a huge deal), but I am not the least confident the sheets were even changed. Since the China Virus pandemic I travel with disinfectant spray, but I used 3/4 of a large can trying to somewhat mitigate its overall grossness. I am in my room/sty typing this. My employer reserved this room and I cannot change the hotel, so I am here for 2 weeks. After I type this I am going to buy disinfectant cleaner and use the trashcan for a bucket, a hotel washcloth for a rag, and clean this skin crawling room, since spraying didn't help much. I put towels on the desk chair, so that is okay. Gee, I wonder if they washed the towels? UPDATE: I have cleaned the room. It looks and feels great. Smells really good. It took only 1.5 hours. I am comfortable now that it's clean. I never walk around barefoot in a hotel room so the nasty carpet isn't an issue. The next person that stays in this room may comment on how clean the room is. The bed is great, I love the pillows. I slept 11 hours Sunday (2 August 2020) night in my freshly self-cleaned room. Also, the refrigerator was dirty. The microwave was filthy. Food splatters all over. Just like a work break-room microwave. These are clean now.

Just a great place for company parties and wonderful food.

I was so impressed with this hotel in their staff I would definitely recommend it.

The front desk staff is amazing. Breakfast worker not so much. The breakfast was cold no real direction as to what to do when u arrive to breakfast. Beds are really firm with overly soft pillows was very hard to sleep. Walls are paper thin you hear everything. The heating cooling system is either really slow or something the thermostats seemed to not work well. The pool was drained. Theres spider webs an ants in the sauna. Had to come here for work an would never book by myself horrible experience. Very outdated hotel some plugs didnt work. Bathroom faucet you have to be strong to work it's a job. Shower water pressure is super weak an the whole time I showered the pipes whistled and shower head couldnt be adjusted to a smaller person. Black spot on my comforter you would think they would discontinue it if they canr remove stain.

It was amazing. The rooms are so clean.

Room is not big but very nice. The bar is great and the bartender was wonderful. Very much will recommend.

We stayed here for the night on our way up to Yellowstone. This was already a difficult trip for my family because we were scattering the ashes of my husband's brother in Yellowstone who passed away a few months earlier. We reserved a non smoking room. I have asthma and our daughters have allergies. The room obviously at some point was a smoking room. You can't take a smoking room and slap a non smoking sticker on it and call it non smoking. The toilet didn't flush properly. The TV channel lineup was incorrect (minor issue, but with tired kids a big deal). Around 9:30pm someone thought it would be a AWESOME idea to play rap music outside our door. Not cool! The breakfast was good, just what we expect from a Choice Privilege establishment. We have stayed at Choice Privilege hotels before. This one wasn't bad, just needs a little TLC on things that can make guests more comfortable.

The hotel seems older but very well-maintained. Fresh cookies upon arrival, cool pool area, decent bar food, great breakfast! Sara (bartender/waitress/breakfast attendant) made us feel special and welcome!

Room was small, but clean. The air conditioning would not work properly. It would kick on for 5 minutes, shut off for 15 minutes or more before kicking on again. Our room was located by the stairs so it was loud anytime someone would come up or down them. Breakfast was nice, but seating limited. Pool was nice with a large shallow area and a very deep area. Staff was friendly.

Big property. Huge indoor pool & patio area. Cute bear waterfall that flows into the pool. Very nice breakfast. Nice place for reunions, meetings, etc. Small restaurant inside. No elevator so if that is an issue, call ahead to request first floor room. Have fun!

Pool was fun. The room, that was less than desirable. The air conditioning was not working so we called the front desk, asked them to please fix it, it was SO hot in the room. They turned the fan on. Said that's as good as it gets. I would of been better to sleep outside where it was cool. I was told they would look at my rate because of the discomfort. I got nothing. I paid almost $250 to sleep in a hot room. I will never stay here again. You want comfort when you sleep. Not sweating because it's so hot. Disappointed with the service regarding the rate with no comfort.

We were accommodated as we arrive one hr. Early to check in because there was a room available. The receptionist was pleasant without a doubt. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was fresh cookies daily, for their guest. The continental buffet breakfast was the best. Parking was an easy access to our room. My husband and I stayed for two days. I love the layout with the swimming pool inside.

I came here on business and the room was reserved for me. I checked, on line, before I arrived and made sure the rooms had mini fridges. Upon arrival, I was stunned by how strongly, of chlorine, the pool made the entire lobby area smell. The check in process was smooth. I was unpleasantly surprised that my room was in the motel part, motel meaning each room opens to the outside and is not in a secured area. Strike one. The non smoking room reeked of stale cigarette smoke. Strike two. There was NO mini fridge. Strike three. Returning to the front desk, I asked for a room with a mini fridge. I was told that, while some rooms have them, they had a big group coming in and she didn't know if any mini fridge rooms were available. I asked to be moved to one of the room inside and more secure. She said none of those rooms were single queen rooms. I told her I didn't care about the bed arrangements. And none are available, she then said. So sorry. I returned to my room, started making calls and got a very nice room across the street at the La Quinta.

We didn't have the greatest experience here. First they moved us to a much cheaper room than we expected. We reserved a pool side room and got put on the side of the freeway. We immediately had to move again when the room had no working heat. The pool didn't have the hours the website said and the TV didn't have the channels listed. When I asked about any of these things the employees didn't seem to know anything.

Fine old hotel. It is a little dated, but they keep it up. The pool area is very nice, and the price hovers at the low end of the three star offerings in town.

The motel has been around 40+ years under various names. Updates to lobby, rooms are dated, but clean. Our bed was comfortable. Free breakfast in a large dining area. I could hear people running on floor above, which is outdoor entrance. Our room was also outdoor entrance, so it was easy to transfer our luggage from our car. Front checkin staff was good. Although, only one on duty for arrival and checkout. Indoor pool. Wifi weak & dropped connection a few times.

I attended Clarion for a social function. I found the facilities to be capable but somewhat dated. The food served was quite good for an event of this type and scale, though not far above what I've come to expect for food catered by a hotel. The ballroom got a bit hot before the A/C finally responded and many attendees complained of the temperature. There was also a lot of noise from the main lobby and pool that managed to infiltrate the ballroom, reminding you that you were in fact in hotel.

I visited the clarion inn for a work meeting. We met in a conference room. It was nice. The room was dated and needs some updating. It was cold in the room even after turning the heat up. The space was usable and met our needs.

The service was great. The hotel was very clean. They provided me a shuttle to a rental car place that is not one of their normal stops. They also went out of their way to help me by giving me an extra late check out time of 1:00 pm. Everyone there was really helpful and pleasant. Would definitely recommend.

Great place. Had a suite facing the indoor pool, although humid in the main area, the rooms retained great temperature control. Staff were friendly and the food served was great.

My first room was an outside entrance room and it smelled so musty there was no way I could stay in it. I asked for an inside entrance room and was told it would be an extra $15. When I told them about the smell they waived the additional cost. The pool is in the middle of the hotel so it is open and loud, which is better than a bad smell. The room is pretty outdated for the price and not as clean as I would expect. There was literally a cookie on the floor and stains on the carpet. If you swim you have to get pool towels from the front desk. You have to "Check them out" and bring them right back or you'll be charged $10 a towel. That was a first for me. The kids swam and I just wanted to watch TV and relax, basic cable with no movie channels and I don't even think the channels are in HD. I'm definately not impressed and I won't be returning. I expect more from a $100 a night hotel.

Kids really enjoyed the pool. Quite rooms and clean needs. Hot breakfast in the morning was nice. A little aged but over all a good experience.

Came for a Birthday party. Nice big space for guests and food, but open to the pool so it's loud! Kids loved swimming, nice clean bathrooms for non-overnight guests. It is hot and muggy inside, so plan accordingly.

It's a nice place to stay. Is pretty popular for big high school functions. Staff and everyone is awesome. However if there is tons of high school kids there for a high school event I would look around at other places. When we stayed they ran across the balcony until 4:30 in the morning, with nothing ever being said to them. Until another person staying there opened his door and yelled at them.

Had my friends company Christmas party here and it was amazing. Not only was the staff super friendly and the room was very clean with amenities. We also were able to enjoy the conference room so we could have some great food and open bar. Thanks again!

Not family friendly at all. The Clarion Inn in Pocatello has some of the meanest most poor customer service I have ever experienced in my entire 37 years. We had a small group of people who were having friendly conversations and not causing any disruption what-so-ever. They decided that we needed to leave the premises simply because the representative was having a bad night. The representative of Clarion, who yelled at a good friend of mine for asking for a garbage can, refused to give her name, however her picture with the police officers that she requested come to the Inn is posted as well. She was spouting lies and was very combative the entire time. I would not recommend staying at this Hotel at all. There much better accommodations over the hill.

Some of the staff was mean, flat out mean. My nephews came to see me in the hotel on Christmas day, I took us all down to the over chlorinated pool, I went to the restroom, and my sister had to call me on my phone to come as they were being accused of pool hopping and we're told they had to leave. To top that off she refused them towels and wanted them to walk outside in 20 degree weather an get hypothermia. Of course I returned and squared it away, but seriously, you were going to send wet children out into the snow! The next morning I went to the front desk and asked for a towel so I could shower at 9am, they said towels on the way, well we checked out at 11 and never got towels to shower (we had to use our room towels for the pool). The staff had their family members drinking wine in the hot tub after hours. The breakfast food in the attached restaurant was rubbery and the waitress acted annoyed the whole time. I did not feel welcome at all. The only nice person was the front desk lady, or no stars would have been given, granted we never got the towels requested or got to take a morning shower. I won't be back. Ever. The room smelled weird too. There's more I could rant about, but I highlighted the worst.

Location is good, right off the freeway. We did not have a room but the service for eating was really good. And a great looking place. Also it has Tesla chargers so that's awesome!

My parents have always stayed there when they come to visit. Over the last 10yrs it's just gotten worse and worse. Rooms are dirty and dingy. The restaurant is horrible and the staff was far from professional. It used to be real nice. It has become a tradition. Next time however they are staying somewhere else.

I thought that this hotel is an incredible deal for the price. The rooms were clean (stayed in the king suit, rm 118 near the hot tub), the beds were comfortable and the pool was great! I loved that coffee was ready at 5:00am to accommodate us early risers and it was nice sitting by the pool in the wee hours of the morning sipping coffee and reading the paper.

This place caught me by surprise. It has a huge indoor pool area that has the hotel rooms connected to it. I stayed here when traveling with a sports team and they accommodated us well. I would stay here again and take advantage of the pool and hot tub/sauna they have available. However, some of the hotel could use some updating and cleaning.

We had a room facing the interstate which made our room reallllly loud. This could be due to the fact that you could see out of the bottom of our door. The strip wasn't present which also meant our room was cold due to the wind coming through. The TV also didn't have a remote that was working and the shower made a high pitched squealing sound, which if you were looking for a new way to wake up, would be great. If you're sharing your room with someone who wasn't; not so great.

Snake River Comicon was here, it was fun.

A hidden gem. Outside and sign look old, kind of remind me of my grandma's house. Inside was fantastic! Yea, it still looked old, whay with the wood paneling and the carpets being straight out of the 70's, but the rooms were nice, the pool was open, spacious, and CLEAN (big deal for me), and it had a breakfast and dinner restraunt near the main lobby, which was a huge bonus for me. Food wasn't Texas roadhouse or anything, but still better than having to leave and go somewhere else. 10/10 would stay again.

Dirty stinky room. The chair looked liked you would catch something if you sat on it. The curtains were stained and the carpet was dirty. But the worst part was how badly our non-smoking room smelt like cigarettes. Find another place to stay there are plenty of other options in the area.

We stopped by overnight. While it was an older place, it is well taken care of and you can see they've updated here and there. The pillows were nice. They had two types of pillows depending on what sIde you used. The beds were decent. It is more of a motel. We parked right in front of our room. Our room faced the freeway and was pretty loud as to be expected. There's a near by coffee shop called beans and brews and it's delicious. Overall for the price it was a ok. No complaints.

Had business training here the room was a great fit. They had a cool pool a nice eating area and unique set up rooms were accessed from the outside and had access inside.

I stayed overnight and had a queen size bed. I went to get in bed and the comforter, blanket and two pillows smelled like pee. When I went in to talk to the front desk the lady said unfortunately we can't do anything because I had already prepaid. The only thing she could do is offer me a coupon to the restaurant… I'll never stay there again.

Only used the Tesla supercharger for 30 minutes, but walked around the common area for a self tour… Looks very nice and also clean; very different from my experience with Clarion in Oakland. I had previously written off the Clarion hotel chain after my first experience with the brand in Oakland. After visiting this one on a forced stop for charging the car, I would give them a chance. Friendly staff. Clean. Currently updating styling of the rooms per the desk staff.

Indoor pool needs to be vented so chlorine does not assault you in the lobby. There are lots of rooms, small fitness room. Pool is great for kids. Sauna and hot tub for adults. Close to services.

We stayed there for two nights this past weekend. Positives were, I liked being able to park right in front of your room. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The cons for us were, noise. There is a lot of highway noise and then the 2nd night we were awaken by some loud cursing men. They were right in front of our room. I called the office and she said she could ask them to move. We waited 45 minutes for them to quiet down and leave. It was ridiculous. I've never had an experience like that before. We've not stayed there before and will definitively not stay again. When we checked out the clerk apologized. We got half a nights sleep so I think we should have only paid for half the night. Very dissatisfied.

It's a motel, not a hotel. The room entrances are outside, the mattresses are nothing extraordinary, and there's no continental breakfast. However, the room was clean, it had all the standard amenities, and the cable package was pretty good. They provide down/feather and "down alternative" pillows on each bed. Plenty of hot water in the shower, and a convex shower curtain rod made it feel roomier. The motel is right above I-15, and the noise from the freeway is ever-present, especially if you have a room on the west face of the building, which we did. The pool area is quite nice — — a big, clover-shaped, fenced pool with a large hot tub and a sauna. I wish the spa area were not separately-fenced, and I wish the pool complex were open later than 10 p. M. All in all, a pretty comfortable motel at a decent price.

We had a great time here. We were invited to a birthday party with 7 kids. We asked about a microwave for our room and they said, they would bring one in for us. The did that as well as brought a refrigerator. I am totally impressed with the staff as well as all the commodities they have. The kids had so much fun in the pool and especially liked the sauna. We will be back again, hopefully soon! Thank you.

I loved this place! The only complaint is that when I got into my room it was 90℉. The room took all night to cool down. Other than that, I'm coming back! Indoor pool and Jacuzzi!

Recently acquired & now Under New Management. We were pleasantly impressed. They have a "dogs allowed" policy that was a pleasant suprise. I even took my Boxer for a run on a large grass field. Rooms, Fixtures, everything was well appointed, and all the staff had great personalities. The price was very reasonable as well. We would prefer being there than any of the hotels that we stayed at over the past month on the road.

Clean and comfy. Didn't get a chance to use the indoor food. Walking distance from eateries.

Great place. Has free Wi-Fi, nice indoor pool area, 24 hr fitness center. Wi-Fi was often slow but it was good enough for me.

I loved the conference I went to. The hotel looked very nice as I was there. I would like to stay there sometime. The pool area was very inviting.

While not the most impressive rooms, it's still pretty nice for a motel. There is food nearby and everyone I've talked to was friendly and professional. The Clarion also has a much nicer pool than you'd expect.

Pretty descent accomodations. The guy assigned to our event was very tentative.

Was good service in the restraunt. Great portion sizes and cooked well. The waitress was a lil slow getting our ticket but was OK other wise.

Loved it the most friendly, helpful staff I have seen in a while and the vary nice clean rooms, and great swimming pool.

Something nice? -The room was very clean. We left a nice tip for housekeeping. — The front desk people were very nice. The rest? — No Internet, a known issue with "that block of rooms". Apparently Internet should be requested when booking room in today's world. Who knew? — the coffee maker didn't work, of course it was early morning before we figured this out. — the hair dryer didn't work, also morning, after showering and running late. The "fix" — "I'm sorry" and a few free points on our privileges card for the lack of Internet. She did offer to let us change rooms if I wanted to walk around the hotel with my laptop and see where it connected at and if there was an available room by where it connected. Not sure why that was my job. I could also hang out in the lobby and work, how convenient. — the next morning I got an "I'm sorry" as she was writing when I told the front desk the hair dryer and coffee maker didn't work. The end result… we will not be staying at the Clarion Inn in Pocatello again. I am not real picky, especially if the room is clean but when nothing works properly, I'm over it.

Excellent service from staff. Rooms were very poor and outdated. Heat did not work well during cold winter time. Rooms need remodeled badly.

Hotel is dirty, outdated, and in poor repair. It is our 10th visit there in the last 20 years. It was a Holiday Inn before Clarion. The only nice personnel was the front desk. Maintenance man, rude, and short. Hot tub dirty. Pool hours are very short. Linens and beds very old. Beds hard and uncomfortable. Spiders and ants in the room. Tile missing on floors, carpet dirty. Housekeeping didn't even clean our room while we were gone all day.

I love this hotel. It is our home away from home. They know exactly how we need our room. Always clean and the pool and hot tub is the best around! I definite must stay at!
**Update** I am a regular at the Clarion. When I went to stay with them during a busy time they was charging me 159.00 for a room that was normally 109.00. As a Regular I decided to call their manager and ask to see if I could get the reduced rate. He got very angry with me and told me that I was taking milk out of his workers kid's mouths. Was very unprofessional. If he couldn't do it all he had to say was sorry it is hotel policy to gouge their regulars just because the hotel was full due to an event. So I have decided not to use this hotel. So congrats Mr. Manager… You just took 1500.00 worth of milk away from your worker's kids mouths. Not to mention the business from co-workers. I will not be back. Red Lion thanks you for the extra milk that their kids will be getting.

The question asks you, "What did you like about it? " My answer to that, is nothing! Although the staff was friendly for the most part, the room we got was horrible! The tub hardly drained, the shower knob is very difficult to turn off and on, and to top that off the blow dryer attached to the wall was literally just hanging there and did not work. When I asked for a new one I was told they could not find one. Very disappointed, especially for the price a paid! I recommend taking your money elsewhere, wish I would have!
