This was the worst experience I have ever had dealing with a Hilton Brand Hotel. There was no parking, no towels, the pullout couch was dirty, no sheets or pillows available and after sleeping in their decorative chair, the only thing the manager said was “oh”. Please don’t waste your money here. Hilton no longer cares about their customers.

Love staying at this hotel! Always treated exceptionally special by the wonderful staff, especially Lindsay! She is the best. I always feel taken care of when I stay here.

The rooms are beautifully updated, very clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

My experience at this hotel was horrible, the staff was disrespectful and rude as hell and in the time of my staying there one of there staff members had the Audacity to enter my room while my husband and I were asleep an had stolen $400 out of my room and my car keys and then calls the cops on me an got me kicked off the property when all I wanted was my things back and they haven’t don’t ANYTHING to compensate me period!

The hotel team members were all very helpful, friendly and accommodating. The restaurant team members were also awesome! The people really made the trip for us. And the bread pudding from the restaurant was THE BEST I’ve ever had in my life! Will you please mail me some!?

This hotel is amazing, very clean very busy but also security measure is the best I’ve seen other than the hidden fees of valet $45 a night the hotel itself is amazing everything is in walking site and distance definitely recommend.

Nice room in a classic 60/70 retro motif. I get a kick out of the mini fridge. Water pretty is AWESOME! Almost feel like I stepped out of a hot tub I am so relaxed from the shower. Easy walk to many good restaurants. Helpful and friendly staff. Only complaints: phone was not working, but staff had that fixed when I went to dinner. Light by front door does not work, and staff never got that fixed. TV was working when I went to bed but not in the morning. I did not report this one. However the TV was working when I returned in the evening. Minor things really. Overall a good place to stay and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Great place to spend your time while in Atlanta! The staff is great, inside (guest services, etc) and out (parking, etc) and the theme, decor, elegance and the way everything feels let's you know this is a top place with great history. The 6th floor I think showes you pictures of famous guests such as musicians and politicians which also hits at the high security and special access to zones. There's a restaurant lounge area on the first and a nice entrance. The location is great and within walking distance of some great attractions. Valet parking is available and mostly underground. The rooms are nice, clean and elegant and some have really nice views of the rest of downtown.

Our experience was awesome! We had a very nice and well kept room and the AC was very welcomed after a long hot day outside. The front desk staff and valet service were helpful and friendly, too. Would definitely stay again!

There was a bit of a delay at check-in; the room wasn't ready. It was ready in 15 minutes, so not really a big deal. The room was clean and comfortable. The entire staff was amazing, friendly and helpful. This is our new favorite hotel in downtown Atlanta!

We stayed here 8/11/2018. The room was nice and cookies good. Parking was awful. Waited over an hour and when the parking staff said that their parking was full and we had to get our own parking at our own expense, they said it would not be more than $8. My husband went and parked a hotel parking garage. Wasn't even 24 hrs of parking when we had to leave and our parking bill was $32 not $8! When we checked out of the hotel, we told the staff how disappointed in how they handled the parking situation yesterday and the staff acted like they didn't care. They were like well you came when there was a Taylor Swift concert and a wedding or some other events going on. They were like with events going on like that it will be like that. Well we didn't know there were so many events when we booked our stay. Very disappointed with the attitude of the staff. Next time we will be booking our stay somewhere else for sure!

This hotel is nice. The room was clean and the bed reasonably comfortable, although the room was small. I liked that even though I wasn't on a high floor, the street noise was minimal. The front desk was nice and the breakfast was actually quite good. My only complain was something smelled musty in the bathroom but I couldn't figure out where the smell was coming from.

Amazing little gem in Downtown Atlanta! I absolutely loved the nostalgic decor. I'm sorry I don't remember the young lady's name that checked me in, but she was amazing — superb customer service! Not to mention the general manager that evening… he actually assisted me with my belongings walking me to my room! The location is "everything"! If you're in the area, do plan to stay. I know I'LL be back!

Great service, excellent rooms, very attentive to detail. We traveled with a 3 y/o and a 1 y/o. They arranged everything to cater to our needs, including a rollaway crib, and helped our family be as comfortable as possible. I really enjoyed the hotel decor and the updated rooms. The mid century modern style gives the hotel a nostalgic, fun feel. Theodore at the front desk was exceptional! I'll be coming back here for sure.

This was our second/final time staying here, which wasn't as pleasant as the first time. While making the bed before leaving that morning a large bed bud (have photos of) crawled from the edge of the bed. If anyone knows, these things multiply quickly and often have to be professionally exterminated especially in a large establishment such as a hotel. I was able to kill the bed bug which left a nice size spot of blood on the white comforter, disgusting and uncomfortable to say the least. Don't have to guess who it had for dinner. We ended up throwing clothes away to prevent transporting and possibly infesting our home. In an attempt to compensate, the staff ONLY allowed our overnight stay to be free, but we had to pay for valet. Can't say I'll be returning or referring anyone.

A DoubleTree hotel with lots of mid-century modern flair. The building is oozing with history. If the walls could talk. Service is great. Chocolate chip oatmeal cookies are warm. Coming back next time I stay downtown.

Modern with a retro twist. The light fixtures, the colors schemes, the "framed" out TV's, no detail was forgotten. We had the pleasure of staying at this establishment for the Foo Fighters concert on 4/28/18. I usually only stay at another hotel in Midtown. Every single staff member was absolutely amazing. They were kind and upbeat! I observed an employee even offer to take a couple's photograph as they were headed out to dinner. (I observed everything, I like to stay under the radar) I adored the lobby. Major Nelson would have been right at home. Our room on the third floor was very clean, from the bedsheets to the bathroom. I liked the street view. The sliding door to the bathroom had a broken knob but other than that it was great. The decor made the room feel comfortable and not impersonal. It was beautifully put together. The bar's retro vibe was not overdone and felt spacious. I had an omelette for breakfast. It was one of the best I've ever eaten, REALLY! I'm very particular about my food. I will be back.

The staff were amazing. They were wonderful with my 2.5 year old and really helped make our visit to Atlanta fun. We were able to get a renovated room which looked nice, was comfortable and had an awesome view from the balcony of Centennial Park and the Ferris Wheel. Closet was small which was the only draw back. Really liked the décor and retro looking fridge. The restaurant staff both in the morning and at night were so friendly and helpful. On Thursday night of our stay after a long day and first plane ride my son was cranky due to no nap and eventually fell asleep while I was waiting for my husband to meet us. Our server was very understanding wrapped up my son's meal and was able to put our order to go so we could bring it upstairs and put my son to bed. The lobby and restaurant I will be going through a bit more renovation. If it looks as good as our room it will be amazing. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Atlanta. Walking distance to the aquarium, Centennial Park and so many other things. Great location with wonderful staff.

The location was excellent and the hotel was very quiet. Rooms modern and tidy. Breakfast for $16 as a buffet is all there.

I went to The American Hotel Atlanta Downtown for a professional event during the afternoon. The atmosphere was very pleasant with piano music playing in the lobby. It was easy to find my way to where I was going, which is not always easy in hotels. They had catered lunch for us, and the food was very good. There was a good selection of sandwiches, along with salad, chips, soup, and several dessert options including the DoubleTree hotel's famous cookies!

The customer service is amazing. The heat in my room was broken. I didn't realize it the first nite as I am cold natured and thought it was just me so I bundled up. Then one day 2, I left the heat running with hopes that my room would would warm up. Well It never warmed up so I called the front desk. They sent up an engineer right away who was unable to fix it. They called me back with in minutes with an upgraded room. When I arrived, the heat was blasting to my liking and I received free breakfast for the remainder of my stay.

Lovely stay at this hotel. Just what we needed for a night on the town. Love the 60s inspired decor from the wallpaper down to the mini fridge. Awesome bathroom with a spacious & modern shower and vanity with great lighting. I will definitely stay again.

Stayed here during the time the Atlanta airport lost power and had 99 planes grounded. The staff was great and helped everyone check in quickly even though there were about 100 people in line to check in! Very comfortable beds, and the room was great. Only thing I didn't care for was the walls had very little sound proofing, so I heard my neighbor a lot through the night — not really a big deal though.

Can't speak much about the rooms as I was here for work related training in one of the large rooms. The staff were friendly and the event was clearly posted with signage pointing the way. The breakfast and lunch that was served while simple was fresh and well presented, not to mention good for that type of mass prepared food. The only complaint I have is the parking, but who doesn't complain about parking in the city? If I have to do anymore training in the city I hope it is here.

The entire hotel has been renovated, and it shows. The rooms were exceptionally clean and modern. The bed was amazingly comfortable and the pillows were nice and fluffy. The lobby area was cozy and inviting. And every one of the staff members was friendly and helpful.

Booked for NYE for a nice evening with my husband and the Valet wouldn't let us in. They said there was no room in parking. Now if I reserve a room, doesn't that mean I'm reserving a parking spot? Especially when they say valet is mandatory. We couldn't park anywhere so had to go home. We were still charged $400+ for the night when it wasn't even our fault that we couldn't check in. Never again!

Great stay, staff was generally very friendly and helpful. Room was nice, liked the retro refrigerator in the room. The location was great. Only downside was the breakfast which was delicious but the service was lacking. Overall I'd stay here again.

This hotel took in all of us weary travelers after Atlanta lost power. They gave us cookies and water upon arrival. Also supplied us with toilettes. They were amazing. The hotel is clean, and has some good coffee. Thank you staff. You have no idea how good you made us feel. God Bless all of you.

The check-in process was quick. I like the location of this hotel as it was easily accessible to the downtown area and in the walking distance to many restaurants. To The room was immaculate, spacious, and comfortable. The most important thing to us in staying in any hotel or motel was the bed. To us, the mattress, the pillow, and the blanket all look great, absolute white, and spotless. Secondly, the Wi-Fi signal was strong and fast. The hotel as a whole was well — maintained. The receptionists were very helpful and amiable. The bedroom and the bathroom were quite small, though.

We initially had a great experience. Check-in was easy and the room was nice. However, on our last morning, we ordered room service breakfast at 9 am. We were told it would arrive in 25 minutes. 45 minutes later, we still had no breakfast. We called room service and were told it was "on its way. " Fifteen minutes later, still no breakfast. We called back to cancel and they had not even started our food. This set us back an hour on our 5-hour drive home and we still had to find breakfast.

Very cool renovated retro theme hotel. King Junior suite room was fabulous, large 2 room with large bathroom in between. Great beds and bedding, dark room, quiet perfect temperature control. Only critique would be breakfast food could be better.

I don't think I've received such a friendly greeting that when I get here! The one who works at the front desk was friendly enough. They have chocolate biscuits that they give when you check in, they are tasty. The room was comfortable and I liked it. I would stay there again if it is Q I'm in Atlanta.

Hotel has been newly renovated. It has a neat auto theme and is very clean. The bathrooms are kind of small, but for business travel, it is fine. The staff couldn't be any friendlier. You have to go to the restaurant, I would put it up against any fine restaurant I have ever been to!

A very beautiful hotel with very friendly staff with renewed rooms. This place has a fitness room and very delicious breakfast! It also has a great pool! Great for just about anybody!

Solid hotel that is renovated. My only complaint is they always tell me they are going to give me breakfast coupons under my door and they never do. I've never had that problem at any other Hilton but its happened repeatedly and I'm a diamond customer. Don't know where the break down is occurring but it should be fixed. Room service is really good and reasonable. I've stayed several times and I consider this a good backup hotel when those downtown properties with more amenities are not available.

The hotel is great and coolly decorated with 60s style! I love their modern furniture! The hotel staff/clerks are friendly. Unfortunately​, there are no bar & restaurant inside; it doesn't finish remodeling. That hotel doesn't have laundry room! When the hotel is completely remodeled, then I may give it 5 stars!

We were in Atlanta for a family reunion and this was the hotel the committee chose. This hotel has gone under a major renovation. There is a picture of what the hotel look like a long time ago and what it looks like now. The staff was amazing. Very polite, eager to help and did their best to accommodate us when we wanted to change rooms. The location is also excellent being in Downtown Atlanta. With that said there are still things that need to be worked on. The electronic door locks did not unlock easily and we would spend a couple of tries with the card attempting to enter our room. The safe was extremely small, and the sliding shower door would slide about a quarter open because it was not level splashing water on the bathroom floor. Another problem I had was how expensive on site parking was for guests per night, $32.

Our room was very clean and the decor was nice! But not everyone that works here is nice. Actually only one person (Calvin) was helpful, respectful, and super nice! And not to mention they charge an extra $50/night for a deposit fee that they do not tell you about. Although you get the money back… they immediately charge your card and you don't get it back til about 5 to 7 days. What if that was your spending money or surviving money for your stay? When I explain to the desk manager that we where not told about that extra charge, he chuckled and said quote: "well ma'am you should have asked"… How would I have known to ask? Anyways will we stay again? Yes and only because of location and because my husband loves it. Will I recommend it? Yes, but only to warn you that ask questions for EVERYTHING!

Certainly nothing special. Dings and scratches on… Everything. The hotel staff has taken the attitude of "who knows, good luck" when it comes to traffic, if you try to bring a car they will laugh at you as you circle the tiny 3 car valet area wishing you could just stop driving and enter your hotel. But you can't, because they do nothing to control traffic or assist their would be guests in arriving. After 30 minutes of frustrating time stuck on the streets of downtown Atlanta, we literally gave up. This is a hotel surrounded by parking lots that cannot park their own guests effectively. There are better options in the area.

The stay was great and I liked the upgrades but the staff not so great. One of the bell guys was trying to get my number so bad that he did not give me all my bags. I did not realize that one of my bags was not in the car until I arrived back in NC. I called and reported my issue and they said that it would not be a problem to send it that next day which was a Saturday. And they would send the shipping information to my email once they had it. I did not hear from them so I gave them a call on Monday morning letting them know I haven't heard anything and I asked if they shipped it out and they did not. They said they would do it that day. Okay well they sent the tracking information later that day after I had to call them again to make sure they shipped it. The tracking stated that I will receive my package on Wednesday by the end of the say. The tracking was not moving so I decided to call Fedex to see what was going on with the package and they haven't even received the package yet. — _ — Now this really made me upset because they are not even falling through with what they are telling me. I have called housekeeping and the hotel a million times and they will not return my phone calls nor answer the phone at that! I am really upset about this and need my items and they don't care. I will not be staying here again!

Very nice hotel in downtown Atlanta. Very friendly staff. The rooms were nice but not up to the level that they advertise and charge for. You're paying more for location than quality. The included breakfast was excellent. Hotel parking was very secure and the cost was appropriate for downtown. If you want to stay at a Hilton property in downtown Atlanta, this would be a good choice.

Staff is friendly. Rooms are very nice. Ice machine doesn't exist on 8th floor and a couple on other floors were out of order. 8th floor was fine but a couple of other floors had a musky odor. Valet is expensive but unfortunately necessary.

Great staff and location. Old and noisy rooms (you literally can hear ANYTHING). If you like "the tower of terror" of Disney, you will love their elevators. Old building. Too pricey for what you get.

Very nice and courteous staff. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The parking is very pricey at $32 per night. I would suggest going a few blocks over at Paz parking where it is $12 a day. Otherwise a pleasant stay.

Location was the reason we stayed here and, for the price, it was one of the best decisions we made. We were here for a concert at the Tabernacle but the close proximity to other attractions made the trip much more interesting. No garage, so valet parking only which was unexpected but convenient. The room was very clean. Would definitely stay here again!

The DoubleTree in downtown Atlanta is a hotel seriously in need of a refresh. The hallway carpeting looks as if it hasn't been cleaned in years. In my room, the bottom hinge on the bathroom door has separated from it by about half an inch. The door itself features an amateurish patch that should be sanded down and repainted. The electrical outlets in the bathroom are caked with dust and grime. The valve for the bathtub moves freely, as if it weren't secure to anything besides the plumbing. The shower head features a crack that sends water spraying to the side. The shower curtain has a pair of dark mildew stains on it. All that said, the staff seem friendly and nice. The breakfast buffet is better than the one at the downtown Atlanta Hilton. If you are an HHonors member and you are trying to decide between the two, I'd go with the Hilton, instead.

This hotel should not carry the Hilton name. The staff we encountered were great, however the facility was very disappointing. The hallway carpet on the floor we resided was very filthy, with obvious spill marks, and did not appear to have been vacuumed. Our room did not have a lounge chair, painted tape appeared to be holding door frames intact, and other concerns. The facility is old, and should really be taken off-line until it is renovated. There are other Hilton properties in the downtown area, the parent company should invest capital to make the necessary improvements. The proximity to downtown events points of interest is good. The parking area for checkin and valet service should be expanded; it was very cramped and rather dangerous.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Our room was clean and spacious and every staff member we encountered was extremely professional and polite. The clientele at this hotel can be very sketchy, but I always noticed a security officer in the lobby which helped me feel safe. Walls are thin, I could hear my neighbors which woke me up a couple times. Very comfortable beds! I could tell the room itself was a little older but it was cleaned well and the amenities were upgraded. Free Wi-Fi and breakfast in morning. Within walking distance to most places we needed to go. Valet parking was $32/night and the line to valet park your car was wrapped around the building clogging traffic. We saved money and time by parking at an adjacent parking lot and walking with our own luggage. Overall, not a perfect hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised by it and would stay there again! Great price for the location!

What did I like abt it? The location. Here's the thing: it's old … very dated! Valet and I use the term loosely was not helpful at all! Pretty much just there! Of course we are in the city so it is clear vehicle will be parked in a deck, but for 32 dollars! Is it outlined … ehhhh no. The carpet is beyond dirty! And I mean dirty! The hall stinks! It smells like bleach and just old carpet! The room itself was overall bearable but bc the halls were awful when I got into the overall room, I was still in shock from my walk in the hall. The bathroom is clearly dated as well and that's a major no! I'm not sure how the overall hotel is ranked as 3.5 stars but it clearly needs some TLC.

This hotel was wow! Really bad I booked this thru my work and needless to say I was taken aback. Dirty, Dirty Dirty! The valet was rude they really did t give u the chance to unload your bags b4 they were trying to park ur car. The room was Worst they said the carpets were just cleaned I wanted them to prove it… whole hallway smelled like urine and mold. When I said something to the Mrg she was very dismissive which caused me to cancel my other nights and move to the Hyatt. Never ever ever again will any of my family stay there.

Customer service from both valet and front desk was horrible. I was covered in bites from bed bugs after staying one night in the hotel (room 551). I reported this to the front desk and Ms. Brenda (whom was apparently the only staff on duty) was extremely rude and acted like I was only reporting a bed bug problem to get out of paying for a valet fee (which wasn't an issue because I AGREED TO PAY IT). I still have bite marks all over my body and regret ever staying in this hotel. Something is seriously wrong with the management of this establishment and I'm surprised Hilton allows this to take place as I considered them as company that holds their employees and hotel quality to a higher standard than this.

I was hesitant to say the least about staying here after reading the reviews. However, my experience was exceptional and the room was not even bad! I thought I was walking into a bottom of the barrel low budget hotel for sure. That was not the case at all. The room was clean and the staff was very pleasant. I must make mention of one in particular. Nikita T was the most kind and pleasant front desk attendant that I have ever experienced! She went above and beyond to make sure we had a top notch stay! I really appreciated her! I know everybody's experience is different this was mine and I wanted to share.

This hotel is not up to DoubleTree standards by any means, which are admittedly pretty high since I have stayed in them frequently as a Diamond Hhonors member. The only redeeming factor was the staff, who were by far and large very accommodating and friendly for such a busy weekend. + Great staff, very friendly and try their hardest to accommodate their guests. + Good breakfast with plenty of options — Outdated accommodations (Musty, peeling paint, caulk peeling around tub) — Door was jammed shut, leaving us outside of our original room waiting to get in for about 45 minutes. We finally were able to get a new room secured after this. — TV hookups were available… BUT INTENTIONALLY DISABLED! Even going directly into the TV, the input switch was disabled. Who on earth would do this? I will not buy a pay per view, instead I will sit on my laptop and watch Youtube on my tiny screen… angry and not likely to return. I'm not sure who made the decision to do this (Hotel side or corporate side), but it has to be one of the worst decisions I have ever seen. Will likely not stay here again, but again, kudos to the staff. I wish you had a better hotel to work in.

Let me start by saying the only reason that im giving 4 stars is because of the manager Mrs. Moseley, and the friendliness of MOST of the staff. The front desk staff are some of the rudest, most dismissive individuals ever. Including a member of management that I spoke with who was just as rude. They were unorganized and short. Our AC didn't work properly so I barely slept at night. Our bathroom wasn't clean. It had a used bar soap in the shower. Upside: The rest of the staff at this location including Mrs. Moseley were phenomenal service oriented individuals. Mrs. Moseley took the time to sit down with me and hear my concerns about my stay. She was genuinely interested in the behavior I had encountered. She listened patiently and made no excuses for her staff. And though I was looking for no compensation and even refused compensation she INSISTED on buying my lunch for the inconvenience I faced as a guest. My husband and I travel often and prior to speaking to Mrs. Moseley we had planned on never staying at this location again. She completely changed my thoughts by taking her time to listen. Overall 90% of this staff make the older location worth the stay. The kitchen staff was amazing, the attendants were completely polite, and though the housekeepers could do a better job. They are extremely friendly. I gave this four stars not because my experience was more than a 2 sstar. I gave it 4 stars because I see effort in 90% of the staff.

Very modest motel. You could tell that it was old and in need of repairs. Could use many updates. Carpet dirty. Bath tub had caulk in the bottom of the tub. I had to use a towel to stand on to bathe. Staff very nice from parking to internal. I think we expected more than what this hotel was able to offer. My daughter and her family (which had drove from Maryland) and our family was very disappointed. Sorry to say we will not return.

Stayed at the hotel during a business trip. Staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and spacious. Very close to most of the attractions downtown. I would definitely stay here again.

Staying across the street at the Hampton Inn. I am sure it is a nice hotel but their valet parking guys blow the horns of cars entering and leaving the underground parking area over and over and over and over. Short honk, long honk, short honk, long honk. Over and over. Annoying as hell in this concrete environment. I am on the top floor (8th) and cannot get to sleep till midnight when everyone finally is checked in. I know they do it for safety reasons (blind spots, etc) but just slow the hell down and you do not have to blow the horn! Do not face Spring Street if you want to take a nap or get to sleep early.

My first night I get back to my room after a long day to get in the shower, only to find EVERY bath towel hanging up on the rack is dirty. Black stains, yellow stains and red spotted stains. I ended up drying myself off with a hand towel. The walls are so thin my neighbor kept me up all night talking and laughing. I could hear everything! In the morning the heater wasn't working during a wicked cold spell. I woke to my room being in the 50's. Freezing, I was thinking how awesome a hot shower would be. Well there was no hot water in the mornings. It was luke warm at best every morning of my 3 days. The elevator also wasn't working one of the nights, forcing a full hotel to rely on one elevator for a full hotel. The Wi-Fi is really annoying as well. They give you free Wi-Fi in one hour connections. So every hour you have to go back and reconnect. What a terrible experience.

This hotel was the worst. I had the most unprofessional experience with the front desk and customer service in general. The hotel cancelled my reservations that were $172 per night but offered to fix their error and give me a room for $180 per night. No Thanks!. I ended up leaving and staying at the Sheraton Hotel near the airport for $140 and this was a better option for my first two nights in Atlanta. I ended up coming back to this hotel for the last two nights of my stay in Atlanta and guess what the price was?. $84 per night. Yes — had I not shopped around or allowed them to take advantage of me I would have lost a ton of money. When I returned to the hotel I ended up dealing with a different, more professional front desk employee that showed excellent customer service. She was friendly and asked me more than twice if I needed help with anything or directions. She was the only redemption for this hotel. For her efforts I give the 2 stars. When I finally got to my floor, the carpet leading to my room was dirty. On my first morning, I was awakened by someone down the hall yelling and screaming at the early hour of 5am. This was a multi purpose trip and I will never return to this hotel. Also, street parking is supposed to be free after 10pm and free on holidays but I got a ticket on the holiday. Horrible experience for a 4 day trip.

Very mediocre. It's a minimal hotel so don't expect too much. If you're staying on the weekend expect street noise to penetrate the thin windows and balcony doors. Room walls are quite thin too. I stayed three nights in Feb Saturday-Tuesday. Upsides: clean rooms, friendly staff, balcony room has a great view of the big wheel, which is night at night. Decent downtown location, good price.
