At the Athens, GA location where my husband is staying in the first room he found roaches in the bathroom and the next night he found BED BUGS. They moved his room across the hall only to discover weed in the bedside drawer, white stains on the chair, a pee stain on the mattress, and this room was not the size room he had originally booked and paid for. They move his room a 3rd time to a room that is missing a wall. By the time it was all said and done it was almost 1am and they had switched his room 4 times. No offer of a refund or even a credit to stay at another hotel another time.

Friendly staff and a quiet atmosphere.

Hotel was just minutes from downtown Athens where we played a show at the beautiful Georgia Theatre. Great place to see a show, lots of big touring acts coming through there on a regular basis. The hotel was extremely clean with plenty of parking. Nice big area between check in and the dining areas to sit and wait for others. Beds were very comfortable and were able to get pizza delivered within 30 minutes. Would stay here again.

I originally checked in to the fourth floor, and found hair in the bed. I alerted the receptionist, who kindly put me in a room on the third floor. There was hair in that bed as well. I promptly left and checked into a different hotel.

If you’re looking for a place to stay in Athens for a good price and close to UGA, look no further. Our stay at Country Inn & Suites Athens was really great. The rooms are very spacious, with comfortable beds and living room style furniture. Clean bathrooms as well. The lobby is open and has an upscale feel to it, and a lobby market is always a plus for any last minute needs. We enjoyed the continental breakfast (really good, lots of options, and comfortable seating area) and 24 hour complimentary coffee/tea. We also made use of the pool & spa before checking out which was very relaxing. All in all, this is a stay that feels upscale and comfortable. Highly recommended.

I was in Athens for business and the country inn treated me so well. Both the daytime and nighttime staff were extremely friendly and helpful which truly goes a long way. The location was convenient for my needs — only about a 5 minute drive from downtown. Most of all, my room was clean and my bed was extremely comfortable. I would definitely stay here next time I'm in Athens.

What a lovely hotel! The rooms were incredibly spacious, the entrance hall was beautiful and we had a lovely time. Such a comfy sleep in such a comfy place! We arrived very late in the night and there was no problem at all checking us in and the staff were incredibly nice. If we are ever back in Athens we will absolutely stay here again — thanks for such a welcoming experience!

I always sleep soundly at this hotel. The staff is friendly and accomodating. Great temperature in the room and cookies in the lobby!
An easy choice for my trips to Athens.

I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is very nice for the price. The room was big and clean and nice. They were very friendly and the breakfast was good. It was a very good value.

Great place to stay have stayed here two years in a row.

Nice, clean, and quiet! This hotel was the oasis that I needed in the middle of a busy work week. The front desk receptionist was extremely accomodating and pleasant. My room was clean, quiet, and a great temperature! I don’t think I have ever slept better in a hotel. Will definitely stay here again. (Also there’s just always tea/cookies/coffee in the lobby pretty sweet. )

This hotel was absolutely amazing. I was visiting Athens with two friends and they gave us a great, spacious room to share. Two comfortable clean beds and a surprisingly comfortable pull out couch (I slept on it and I slept great) The hotel is beautifully attired, and the staff was friendly. We enjoyed the delicious fresh cookies served in the afternoons and pool was great. The hotel is very close to downtown Athens. I highly recommend!

Horrible stay! We chose this hotel for the indoor pool, but the pool was closed for all but a couple hours of our stay. Our room looked awesome until we got closer and realized there was trash and crumbs from previous guests on the floor as well as a dead roach. The bug was dead, so I guess that warrants the one star I had to give. The woman at the front desk was rude and not at all helpful. The hotel is not located in a great area and to top the visit off, my child picked up a glass drug pipe in the parking lot. Keep looking — plenty of better hotels to be found!

This is the nicest country inn and suites ever! Fast and friendly check in with a variety of warm cookies available at the counter. Hotel is in a great location with plenty of food options within walking distance. Great indoor pool and hot tub. Weight room was exceptionally large. Plenty of parking for larger vehicles. Top notch continental breakfast with plenty of hot items. Rooms are super posh and comfy. I love the atrium style design of this hotel as well. The only complaint is that it was very difficult to leave. 10/10, will return to this location when I’m traveling with other artists through Athens.

Manager was amazing and so helpful! The rooms were clean and comfortable. We swam in the pool and relaxed in the hot tub after our meeting days. Breakfast was always nice and they have cookies and coffee or hot tea out in the afternoon. Nicely located. Beautiful lobby and sitting area. Being here at least doubled the experience of Athens for us and our families!

The hotel is nice. Our room is big with plenty of space for my wife, daughter, and I. The staff has been helpful. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast this morning. It was a lot better than similar breakfasts at other hotels. There are even waffle makers. We have not used the indoor pool but it looks nice. The only downside was that we could hear one of the neighboring guests snoring last night. It was almost like some weird trick of the acoustics because we couldn't determine which direction it was coming from. Overall, it's been a good place to lay or heads while we get our business done.

Hate to give such a poor rating. Hotel is nice and clean. Staff is great. Breakfast is a nice treat. Close and convenient to all activities.
Stayed there for graduation weekend. Normal rates $97 but they upcharge for a special occasion. Paid a premium for 2 nights in 2 rooms. Right next to each other but paid $20 more per night for the second room because I booked on a different day. I am a Radisson member but will no longer be staying at their hotels. I should have been charged the same rate for the same 2 rooms.

Excellent value and location. Nice multi-story open lobby. Large rooms. Good breakfast including waffles, eggs, sausage. Poor pillows and walls are a bit too thin.

Nice hotel only a couple minutes from downtown Athens. Beautiful common areas too. Room was comfy and clean, well done breakfast. My only disappointment was that the indoor pool and hot tub were closed.

Lots to do at night in Athens, GA and this hotel is close enough to it all to make you feel like you're right there. Checking in and out was a breeze, the room was large and clean and (this is not a joke) smelled like the best hotel room I've ever smelled. Athens is a great place to perform and hotels like this are a big reason why.

Extremely friendly staff all the way around, I truly enjoyed my stay. I stayed one week for work. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the Jacuzzi. The water temperature was like warm at best. I notified the front desk 2 days in a row before being told that the "pool guy" only comes once a month. This was an inexcusable response to me, after all, people typically only stay at a hotel for a day or two, so being told that the pool guy just left a few days prior and wouldn't be back for a month was not reassuring at all, especially when an indoor Jacuzzi is the one criteria I pick when staying out of town for work. But the front desk, housekeeping, and breakfast buffet staff were great! Sorry for only 4 stars guys, I wish there was more diligence getting the Jacuzzi fixed.

I will never stay at this hotel again. The room reeked of cigarette smoke, the TVs in the entire facility we're not working, there were exposed electrical wires left by sloppy painters not replacing covers. You could hear through the walls and ceilings so sleep was impossible with partiers up all night and little children running around at 5 am. They should certainly invest in some insulation or sound blocking membrane for the walls.
The open design led to you hearing every thing that goes on in the lobby, every door closing… I think it was the loudest hotel we ever stayed in.
The chairs in the dining room we're stained and looked like they had not been cleaned in a very long time.
It was a bad experience all the way around.

My stay at the Country Inn & Suites in Athens was just what I needed after a long day on the road in the hot Georgia heat. The hospitality was spot on and front desk was extremely kind and courteous upon my check in and permitted me to check in a little early since I was dog tired. I was very pleased and comfortable my room and felt safe even though the location was very nice. Even with the hotel being very busy this night they had ample parking and there were zero disruptions. It's an extremely quite hotel! I wasn't able to take advantage of the gym, pool and laundry area however they all looked very well maintained and clean. The location of hotel offered many great places to check and is less than two miles from the heart of Athens. Breakfast fantastic with a very well rounded menu. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food and coffee were! Housekeeping were very courteous… extremely nice folks and really went out of their way to help us with all of our requests. If you're in the area or plan on being in the area and want a great hotel this one is definitely worth staying at!

Decent hotel as far as appearance and amenities goes. But housekeeping really needs to step up their game. Soap scum or hard water on the shower marble. Several areas in the room obviously hadn't been cleaned such as picture frames with smudge marks all over them. There's more details but hey that's what counts are the small details.

Seems like a decent hotel with clean facilities. They have Wi-Fi and free breakfast with a good selection of food. There is also a pool. The lobby was comfy and spacious. The rooms were standard fare but comfortable. Decor could be updated. I was picking up my student from a band trip and she had a nice stay.

Very clean and comfortable. Free cookies! Pool and jacuzzi are nice and well maintained. We have stayed here several times, and our family from out of town have as well.

I have stayed here twice. This year and last year for Annual Confernce of the North Ga UMC. By far one of the best hotels I have stayed in and I look forward to staying here in the future.

Very friendly staff and nice amenities. They have a very down home southern hospitality thing going on there that other hotels don't have, however the hotel is very dated especially in the room. Room 403 had a broken lock on the bathroom door as well as stains and discoloration on the carpet and bedspread. I took my mother there for her birthday and although it's not lavished or luxurious we did have a good night's stay and made the best of it.

Our family trip is to the area once, maybe twice a year, to visit my grandson in the Statham area, but we could not find a descent place times before, so this year we decided to book ahead in Athens because we stayed at another hotel there last year. I was pleasantly surprised a the family atmosphere, the staff was professional, accommodating and friendly, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The next family trip to Athens and anywhere else we go, we will seek out Country Inn & Suites first, great service, great stay, great hotel, keep up the good work Country Inn & Suites.

I work in Athens occasionally, I've stayed at the Hampton, Days Inn and by far the Country Inn is the cleanest and most comfortable than any other I've stayed at. The breakfast is always fresh and there is a variety to choose from. The staff is very helpful and friendly. This is really a home away from home, it's set up that way so you don't feel like your in a hotel.

We're staying at the hotel presently for ease of access to a work conference my husband is attending nearby, and so far have been pleasantly surprised. The indoor atrium is beautifully decorated and lovely to see, and our room is spacious enough for our two toddlers to roam freely without feeling cramped (there are two queen beds; a sitting area with couch, chair and coffee table; spacious private bathroom; good-sized closet; mini-fridge and microwave; work desk; dresser; etc. ). I have personally used the fitness center, which leaves something to be desired in terms of free weights (just two treadmills and an elliptical; nothing else), but the draw of the indoor pool and hot tub is beckoning my family as we speak. The breakfast was typical of your standard "breakfast included" hotel, but certainly covered all the basics for us and our children. So far, so good. Three more days left in the trip, so we'll see!

I loved the jacuzzi and view… Very clean, beautiful lobby and rooms. Very professional staff. Great ending to a stressful day of on the job training…

If you want a hot shower don't stay at this hotel. My husband checked in first and had no hot water the first morning. He promptly complained and was told they had had a problem for a few days and someone would be out to fix it. (Lie #! ) I arrived the next day and still not hot shower. I called the front desk and was told that no one had come out the previous day because there were a lot of events going on in the area. (Lie #2) We went out for the morning and when we got back I asked if the hot water problem had been fixed. We were asked if we were in a corner room, yes we were. We were told they often have no hot water in the corner rooms when there is a large demand for hot water but they never had any complaints of no hot water from the side rooms. I asked if we could switch rooms and they agreed. The next morning my husband got up over an hour early to get a hot shower, lucky him. I had not hot water again! I guess just because no one ever complained about no hot water on the side rooms doesn't mean there is not a problem with hot water for them DON'T STAY AT THIS HOTEL IF YOU WANT A HOT SHOWER! May daughter liked the waffles.

I don't know where some of these people are staying but they cant be talking about the hotel I stayed in 4-12-14. The hotel itself is clean and the staff seem to be nice. The breakfast is ok not anything to write home about. The rooms are not quiet. You can hear your neighbor easily. And when someone leaves their room next to you it sounds like they are coming in to yours its so loud. But all of that aside the worst part is the beds. We have stayed at this Hotel for the last 5 years. Anytime we have a queen sized bed or larger the beds have literally been the worst most uncomfortable thing I have ever tried to sleep on. Horrible. We would have been better off to go out into the parking lot and sleep on the asphalt. My suggestion if you stay here is to get double beds because anything else and you may need to see a chiropractor when you leave.

Let's just say that I've never made a mental note to rate a hotel before staying here. For the price, you cannot ask for anything more. The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable, designed with a craftsmen type feel throughout the suite and lobby. Everything felt nice and relaxing. Melissa, the breakfast lady, was very helpful and friendly. Just a great experience all throughout.

This is an awesome place to stay staff very helpful and rooms are clean and QUITE! Indoor atrium is very open and comfortable.

We stay here about 4-5 times per year over the last three years and it is a nice hotel but the breakfast that used to be pretty good is almost non existent. The hot stuff was down to 1 case with about 6 sausage links and nothing else. There were a few stale things in the bakery case and no yogurt. Pretty lame compared to what it used to be. At least there is a McDonalds close. Everything else was OK.

This was a perfect place to stay for Game Day weekend. If you don't want to drive and find a place to park, taxis drive through the parking lot to take you to and from the stadium. The room was clean, modern, and spacious. I will definitely make this my game day choice! UGA Alum from Fort Lauderdale.
