I should start by letting you know I’ve worked in Hospitality management for 15 years now. I booked on Priceline and I feel completely scammed as they won’t help and their apologies won’t pay my bills. The hotel was advertised as having a pool, a bar, and a restaurant. It didn’t have any of that. No pool, bar and restaurant closed. They were supposed to offer a cooked to order breakfast which I would have gladly paid for. However due to Covid they closed and offer a free breakfast. We’re vegetarians and the only thing we could eat were prepackaged muffins and granola bars. They didn’t offer any alternative to cows milk. No juice. Only coffee and hot water for tea.
In the hallways signs of age were visible. The hotel is obviously not keeping up with preventive maintenance. Our toilet seat was stained yellow by age? Urine? Human body oils? Either way gross. The towels were actually on a rack INSIDE the shower.
There wasn’t a single statement that there was a cost for parking on Priceline but they charge 9.99. Parking garage isn’t close to lobby doors and lugging a cart would require pulling it through a cobblestone garden so we just carried our overnight bags and cooler.
I have stayed in a few Hilton Garden Inns and this one needs to get it together. Im not highly critical generally, but for 107 a night I expect a whole lot more than a clean room with a bed. This was just an overnight trip for my husband and I to go see somethings around the area.

The customer service was impeccable and with a genuine smile. They make sure their guests have everything they need.

Love the place everyone and everything was absolutely AWESOME.

I'd say location and accommodations are great. However raising parking prices for your guests to 30.00 per day during uga games stinks in my opinion! Also, running out of food during breakfast buffet? How long have you been doing this now?

Needs free breakfast. It is basically a industry standard. Otherwise is really nice. With a great view and a beautiful room.

The Hilton Garden Inn is a really nice hotel right in the middle of downtown. It had a fantastic location right across from the Classic Center, and is just a short walk to anywhere downtown. The bar and restaurant are very good, and the food is delcious. Definitely recommend staying here or at any of the hotels downtown such as the Holiday Inn or Springhill Suites. Can't go wrong with any of them.

The hotel was nice. Very clean lobby and rooms. As expected from this brand. Very close to Georgia Theater, shopping and restaurants. No free breakfas but were not aware of that until we had already eaten. Food was standard serve yourself continental breakfast items with an omelette bar that was only just ok. We were surprised when we got a bill for the few items that we had gotten. They even asked for a tip even though it was self service.

Great hotel! Amazing, friendly staff! Excellent location downtown. NCAA often hosts visiting teams here.

I enjoyed three great nights with the Hilton Garden Inn in Athens while attending a class recently. My room was clean, the linen fresh and my bed so very comfortable. The rooms are well appointed and the Keurig in room coffee maker was fabulous. The convenience of the location to downtown Athens was fantastic.

While I enjoyed my stay, it was not without a few headaches. I was staying with friends and had specifically called to speak to someone when making a reservation to make sure we could be booked near them. Upon arriving we were not able to check in early. We were also not close to our travel party, we were 2 floors down.

It was clean and quiet. I could do pre check in from my app and have a digital key to my room. No more fumbling to find or keep up with the key. Check out was quick and easy an they just emailed me my receipt.

Very nice hotel. Had some family visit this weekend and they loved it! Friendly staff nice rooms. Food at the restaurant was pretty good too.

Great place to stay for event at the Civic Center. Clean rooms, attentive staff and free parking. Did I mention quiet?

I stay here every time I travel to Athens. It has nice updated rooms, lovely service staff, and a good gym. Right in downtown Athens too!

Stayed here several times. Good bar, Great location, gym, clean, friendly staff. Never had a problem. I said location is good, and it is, but it is at the far side of downtown.

It’s very clean and the location is ideal to everything. A lot of restaurants and bars within walking distance. And other more “name brand” restaurants are not that far to drive to if you don’t like local places. There seems to be a lot of ambulances and police cars that travel by and are very loud, that’s not really the hotels fault but it is located on a main strip so I guess this is their travel route. Still gets 5 stars for cleanliness, location, and customer service.

Location was great as we were there to attend Athens Technical College graduation at the Classic Center. Front Desk Associate was friendly and welcoming. (We cannot recall her name but we checked in on Tuesday, May 1st a little after 9pm. Room was clean and neat. Dining there was a really good experience. Matt was so accomodating at dinner. The food was delicious. We were glad that we had chosen to stay there rather than go out for dinner. Then we had breakfast there. Everyone was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. Lastly, we had multiple times of interacting with Clay throughout our stay. He is a customer service star. Thanks all for a great stay.

This is a fantastic location. Love staying here so we can walk to anywhere downtown we want to go.

Wonderful staff and the perfect location. We were within walking distance to everything. The hotel itself was perfect.

The hotel was in a great location and the rooms were modern and very clean. However, I booked this hotel specifically because it was the only one dowtown that still had an indoor pool. The hotel no longer has a pool. The staff let us check out without penalty when we realized this.

The Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Athens is a great location within walking distance of many stores and restaurants! I would recommend this hotel for family or business trips in the area.

The kids working the front desk the early afternoon on March 3, 2018 are worthless. We left behind a bag in one of the conference rooms and they acted like we were inconveniencing them when we called. All we wanted was for one of then to take 30 seconds, go to the room, and see if it was still there. It took us 2 hours and repeated phone calls to find out that housekeeping “didn’t find anything. ” These kids should not be working at a hotel. They should be fired. I also left a message with housekeeping as I was instructed. Never got a call back. UPDATE: after a few more calls to housekeeping, we finally got a live person who agreed to go check the room. Sure enough, she found our missing stuff. So the guy and girl working the front desk lied to us about having housekeeping check the room and not finding anything. Wow, such despicable kids. I really hate it when young people are so irresponsible… it gives other young people a bad name. PLEASE FIRE THESE TWO! If the hotel owners and managers cared, they would do something. Please check the time and date to identify these two individuals! They will mar the reputation of this hotel chain and the larger Hilton brand in general.

Clean, but overpriced considering the bed I slept on and the paper thin walls. You could easily hear everything the guests in the two rooms next to us were saying and their TVs at night trying to sleep. The bar near the hotel was playing load music and you could hear that as well. Great location and you can easily walk to EVERYTHING. The staff was great. Very friendly and helpful.

Insanely loud music from bars next door. Rude front desk worker hung up when I called to ask what time clubs closed. Stay somewhere else if you like a quiet room or sleep.

I stayed that the Hilton Gardens Hotel in Athens, GA during a cross country road trip during January. The rooms and service were satisfactory however I have had major issues with locating some personal items that were left in my room following my departure (the value of which was approximately $500). I called the front desk to determine whether my items were in their possession, and I received confirmation that items matching my description had been found in the room that I had stayed in. The desk clerk said that the housekeeping manager would get in contact to organise delivery of said items, however I never received a call or email back after providing my phone number and email address. I then called one week later to follow up the delivery, however the desk clerk that I spoke to on this occasion notified me that they did not have any of my items in their possession and that they had never been registered in the lost and found. Very disappointed with my interaction with the Hilton Hotel chain, and in future I will be taking my business elseware.

Great service and wonderful staff. It's also in an amazing location. It's located directly across from the Classic Center and within walking distance to all of the Athens nightlife.

The property has clearly gone through a recent refurbishment and looks great. Staff were friendly, especially Savannah working at the front desk and David working behind the bar. Breakfast staff were clearly eager to help however they could. Definitely my favorite place to stay in Athens.

Clean, easily accessible hotel. If your breakfast isn't free or included in the rate, go elsewhere — it's basically a continental breakfast and not worth the money. Parking is not free, so be aware. Parking structure is only for hotel members though, so you shouldn't have to worry about people parking to go drink downtown. Rooms are clean and well appointed with mini fridge, microwave, and coffee. Didn't try the gym or other amenities.

Excellent Hotel with the kind of service you expect from a higher-end hotel. Staff was very knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful. The rooms were comfortable large and I would definitely stay there again if ever in Athens Georgia.

Great overall. The air conditioner was a little annoying. It was set at 78 and even after reading the instructions I couldn't get it to another temperature setting, it must not be overridable. Luckily it was only about 72 outside at night so it stayed there. A little warm but not unbareable.

Hotel is updated and lovely. My room was comfortable. Pros — temperature control, blackout shade, adequate plugs, walking distance to plenty of restaurants, across the street from the Classic center Cons — it smelled funky in my room!

Nice HGI. Easy location in downtown and across from the UGA campus. Newly renovated room. The only downside is that they designed the window shades where they don't fully come down over the window. Also, the room renovation is beautiful… but they didn't do the bathroom.

Excellent property. The accommodations are exceptional, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the food was great. It is located near everything in the downtown. I look forward to going back.

I stay here every year for the Athfest music and arts festival. Wonderful and convenient location! Right down town and just a minute walk to all the bars. We always have a pleasurable stay here. Always a nice staff, clean rooms, and good for the price. Not fancy but not too dated. Only con I've experienced is the elevators — they seem to be constantly under maintenance — usually 1 is working but it's a little unsettling when you get in the elevator and the doors won't open to get out…

If you're looking for an awesome experience, whether for business or pleasure, simply ask for Matt (GM! ) His team around the property was great however Matt personally went out of his way to make sure my team an I were well accommodated. You excpect nothing but smiling faces during your stay here!

Super nice hotel. Plenty of space in our room. Clean! Pretty! Great views! Here for Independence Day Fireworks. We had no trouble getting where we needed and getting back to our hotel room. Anything we needed forcomfort and convenience wss provided by The Hilton Garden Inn. Had a fantastic time and enjoyable stay! :)

Looking for a hotel just outside of the town. This is it. Very nice room and a comfortable bed. Had a great hot breakfast available. The office and the hotel complex is only 1 block away. Downtown is about a mile away. Rate is good.

I was here for two nights for a conference at the classic center, which is right across the street! The room, on the eighth floor was cleaned well each day and the bed was fairly comfy. The staff was amazing. Even though they were doing construction and remodeling, I personally never felt inconvenienced or like I was in the middle of a loud contruction site. The fitness room was small but we'll laid out to accommodate a couple of people comfortably. The water was amazingly hot! There was lots of places to eat within a block and has been one of my best experiences in Athens!

I loved it because it's beautiful and welcoming. We need a room unexpectedly and they were happy to accommodate us. It was Thanksgiving and had not eaten yet. They opened the dining room and we had a lovely dinner.

Our two-night stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Downtown Athens was wonderful. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but the thing that stood out the most was the service at the front desk. The folks working that desk were always so polite and pleasant, it made for a really welcoming atmosphere.

The hotel is in an excellent location for a visit to downtown Athens. Parking was $10/night in the parking structure. Complimentary fruit and cookies were available in the lobby when we checked in; coffee was available in the morning. The staff were all very pleasant. The room we stayed in was decently sized. The two queen beds were very comfortable and the pillows were nice as well. The room seemed very clean. The air conditioner in our room was a little loud so we turned it off while we were awake.

My event was in the Magnolia Room and I believe the food was catered by the hotel. If so, this hotel did a great job of accomodating us and it was an enjoyable experience being there.

Very friendly and helpful staff, they were very eager to make sure we had a pleasant stay. Location was excellent, very close to all the fun things to do in Athens. Room was in good condition.

Decent overall, but poor sound proofing, elevators are out of order, vending machines were all out of water, replaced their pool with a conference room, found an old pair of panties and a bra in my room that housekeeping missed, towels were unclean, the bathroom fan doesn't work, and the microwave was partially broken. All small things, but overall ruins the experience.

I was just there overnight. My room was clean and comfortable. The guest services were friendly and helpful.

The staff is friendly and the rooms are spotless. To top it all off the beds are really comfortable.

It was aight. I liked the parking deck and lobby. I didn't stay the night though. It's a nice and clean hotel all the same.

Great place to stay. Convienant to everything in Athens. Easy to find and park. All of the staff were super friendly. The room was clean and modern. The breakfast was great. I will be going back.

Staying here got me on a timeshare telemarketing list for "Hilton vacations" in Vegas and Orlando, thus the 1 star. If that hadn't happened, I'd give it 2 stars. The rooms are in desperate need of remodeling. Carpet is worn, it looks like the bathroom tubs haven't been scrubbed in years, and the sheets are paper thin and scratchy. For $160/night + $10 parking, I'd expect at least some decent sheets. There are several other hotels in this price range located downtown that are MUCH nicer. Overall, average crazy overpriced rooms, and really shady business tactics of sharing customer data with telemarketers.

We are coming up for two days for a wedding in Bogart. The website shows several pictures of a pool and spa. We were here 3 years ago for another occasion again same website. Pool closed then and pool closed now. You should update your website to reflect there is no usuable pool facility. It is almost a 100 degrees and most of the people coming are looking forward to a pool. That website is totally misleading and should immediately be corrected.

I am requested to go to the Hilton garden inn but I wanna know more about the hotel breakfast, lunch and dinner and what things are near this hotel before I pick out my day to go. thanks so much.

First and formost, the good: Absolutely great staff. Another local hotel had botched my reservation and left me without a room. Within 10 minutes the Hilton Garden Inn had a room up and available for me and saved me from missing an important meeting. The staff was extremely fast, helpful and focused. The mattresses themselves are quite nice. The zip check out was a breeze and I'll always be thankful for the fast and early check-in. The bad: At nearly $170 for a single night, the rooms themselves really don't stand up. The carpets are worn, curtains are old, sheets are stiff and EXTREMELY uncomfortable, room stays hot regardless of temperature setting (set at 65 before leaving, upon return nearly 5 hours later it was still sweltering), no safe in the room for valuables (though they apparently have some down front), and our shower was a bit mildew-y. There was nothing absolutely unbearable but for the price I expect a LOT more out of my hotel room experience. For $170 I expect a piece of quiet comfort but I instead had a mildew-smelling, moderately scratchy evening. I was also a little surprised by the cost of parking for the day, though I imagine it's a more frugal option for longer trips. Even the Keurig machine, while a nice though, was a bit dirty and tasted foul (that could be my inexperience with the coffee brand, though, admittedly).

I spent two nights at this hotel. The front desk staff were polite, friendly, and helpful. The room was attractive and spacious, and had a nice TV with access to free Wi-Fi. However, the bed and pillows were the most uncomfortable on which I've ever attempted to sleep. Most importantly, the clerk quoted me one rate face-to-face when I checked in, but then on my statement at checkout, I was charged $15.00 per day more than the original price I was quoted. On the second night of my visit, a high school orchestra was also staying at the hotel, and their students did not settle down or allow other hotel guests to rest peacefully until after midnight and hotel staff did not successfully get them settled down. This hotel charges $9.95 per day to self-park in their garage. Overall, this hotel is a very poor value for the prices they charge. I will not stay at Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Athens if I visit Athens again.

Great lobby Bar/Food. Awesome local Jazz was playing in Lobby which set the tone for the show across the street later that night.

It's great, but you have to really dress up not to feel out of place.

We received a special rate but when we got to the hotel they refused to honor that rate! They were extremely rude when we asked any questions and were unhelpful. They also charged our credit card BEFORE we even arrived which is totally unethical and WRONG! We found this out when we told them we wanted to use another card and would have to pay a fee to correct the problem! This place is a ripoff and we will NEVER stay there again.

Checking my credit card statements, I discovered that we were charged twice for our last stay at the Hilton Garden in Athens. It had been well over two months since the second charge had been put on the card, so it was pretty unbelievable that no bookkeeper caught the double charge. Obviously, we expected a quick correction when we pointed the mistake out to them, but that didn't happen. It took two weeks of demanding a refund before they finally agreed to refund the duplicate charge! We've stayed at the Garden Inn every time we visit Athens, but never again, and we warn all our friends not to ever give the Garden Inn in Athens your credit card info. Jim Sandefur.
