My husband booked the room for us and we had to phone him to get permission to check in. The room we got had a musky smell, hair in the shower and to top it of a left over food bag in the cabinet underneath the TV. We then got offered a second room which then smelled like smoke.
We then decided to check into another hotel. We have been fully charged and we are still struggling to get our refund for a stay we did not use.

Very nice place 8 recommend it.

Had a great stay while in Athens. Front desk was friendly and helpful. I appreciated being able to ask questions/get more towels, etc via text. The hotel is unique and pet friendly, which is always a plus in our book! Looking forward to staying again next time we’re in town.

Covid yes. Excuses to a very dismal stay w/lack of staff, would Not recommend this hotel @ all.

My favorite place to stay when I’m traveling East Georgia. It’s everything you want in a motel. I travel 200 nights a year and I would drive out of my way to stay here.

We stayed here for our anniversary. They made it special with great service and several little surprises. Definitely recommend.

I can’t say enough about this hotel. I almost want to be selfish and keep it to myself so I will always get a room here. You are missing out if you have never stayed here. Not only are the rooms unique and perfection. But, Erika with guest services is the BEST. She went above and beyond to make sure I was settled in and content. I had a really bad day leading up to check in. Several things happened. Yet she made it seamless and just perfect. Thank you. Erika!

A fun, safe place for family fun. Dogs are important guests too! Amazing food! Delicious little coffee shop.

Definitely recommend. Graduate Athens saved our weekend girls get away. They were very accommodating and Kyle at the front desk helped us find parking, a shuttle, places to eat and not to mention finding our room at a reasonable rate so quickly and last minute. 10/10 would recommend.

This is an excellent place. My husband and I recently stayed here and we were very pleased. We especially loved how friendly the staff was. There was a very special gentleman by the name of Kyle that was extremely helpful and recommended a lot of good ideas. Thank you to everyone there.

Really fun boutique type of hotel. The retro 50's, 60's and 70's student theme is executed perfectly. Customer Service is great and the music venue on site is fabulous. Totally worth the money. Only downside was the musty smell from the air conditioner, but a filter change can fix that.

This was our first time staying here and we will definitely be back. The room had funky decor that made it feel more like you were staying with a friend then sleeping in a hotel room. The bed was super comfy and the location was perfect. I wish we had time to explore the ammenties more but the coffee shop, music venue, fitness center, and pool all looked great. Plus you can rent their bikes with helmets for free to make exploring Athens even easier. I highly recommend checking them out.

This is a gem of a hotel! Amazing location, super friendly staff, and has all the amenities. Coffee shop, bikes for transportation, restaurant/bar/venue, spa, and a pool. You almost don’t have to leave the location! But if you do leave, everything’s within a 5 minute walk. I’d leave 5 stars purely due to the comfortable bed. I’ve never stayed in a hotel with that comfortable of a bed. Now, the ONLY reason I didn’t give 5 stars is due to the cleaning staff. The room was spotless and extremely clean, so kudos to you ladies! But they would knock once and enter the room. The two mornings I was there, I had two different cleaning women each morning enter the room before I could stop them. I appreciated the effort but it was slightly uncomfortable and startling. They were super kind and apologetic but I’m sure something could be put in place to avoid them disturbing the peace. Aside from that, AMAZING. I will definitely be back.

It's an unique hotel, so if you want something different, then this is a good place to stay. It's located right next to UGA. The rooms were clean, but my mom said she saw ants. The air conditioner was not working well, so it was very hot in our room at night. The people working there were nice.

The staff at the front desk and the cleaning staff were very friendly. The room was decorated a little funky, but you don't see that with your eyes closed. There are couple issues with this hotel: 1) I am 6-4 about 215. The beds are way to soft. If you got near the edge of the bed, it would almost collapse. 2) I was in one of the rooms near the front of the hotel which would back up to Hoyt St. At night there are several (don't know how many because I never opened to count) very bright street lamps. The have pull down shades that don't quite go to the edge of the window frame. The light bleeds into the room. I was there two nights and woke up 4 or 5 times each night with the window light in my eyes. I would assume that all the rooms would have this same issue. Full blackout drapes like most hotels have would be better. 3) The room was clean but smelled a little musty.

We attended a wedding last night at the Foundry at Graduate Athens. We were so glad that we booked a room at Graduate Athens for the night rather than driving back to Atlanta at midnight! I loved the kitschy room and quirky décor! I had read some questionable reviews — but honestly, the room was great! The beds were comfortable with great linen. I loved that we were given ample towels of all sizes and BEST of all — there were 2 sinks — one in the bathroom and one outside of it. The room A/C worked fine — no issues — it was nice and cold on a hot and humid day! The room had a microwave and little fridge but we did not use them. It was super convenient to walk into downtown Athens and even MORE convenient to be 50 steps from the wedding venue! Highly recommend!

Graduate yourself to pure comfort. The bed that I slept on was extremely comfortable. The clean room that we had was decked out with relics of the past and present. A nice vintage-looking red Crosley radio sealed the deal and really tied it together nicely. Great water pressure in the shower and excellent toiletries were provided. It is a treat when they actually provide toiletries that don't ruin your skin. 10/10. If needed, the hotel staff will provide a free shuttle down the road and come pick you up, free of charge. Best hotel I've stayed at in Athens. I will be returning.

I'm sorry, but I just didn't care for the 70's vibe decorations. It looked cute online. But in person it was old smelling walking in the door. I wouldn't care to stay there again even if they gave me free accommodations. Now the main lobby, ballrooms, and the Foundry music venue was fine.

This is a fun, quirky location with fun decor. The staff is super helpful and friendly, providing recommendations for local grub and drinks. If you get a chance to stay in one of the awesome suites, do it! Some have vintage arcade machines in the room.

Pictures on the website look amazing, but once I stepped into the room, I was disappointed. Room felt and smelled damp. I called the front desk, and maintenance responded within five minutes. Joe cleaned the ac filter and brought a dehumidifier. Upon starting it up, the humidity reading was 75% even with the ac on. Bed sheets were damp. Yuck! After returning from dinner, humidity level was better, but still 50%. All night I heard the running dehumidifier and ac unit running. The next day as I was getting ready for work meeting, I realized that the stopper for the bathroom sink was not hooked up when I went to shave. Upon returning after work, housekeeping did the bare minimum and did not even bother to empty the trash cans. I've stayed in many hotels/motels (some much less expensive than The Graduate in Athens, some much more) and cannot recommend it. There are many other options in the area at the same price point that would provide a better experience.

Enjoyed my stay here. I must admit the cleaning stay may have forgotten to come empty the trash but other than that it was a good hotel. I did not personally book the hotel pr pay for my stay (my company did) so I can't say its worth the value. I would visit here again, staff was helpful.

The hotel was nice and easy to sleep at. Other than a used spoon found in the fridge, the rooms were cleaned well. Room service was quick. Don't let the outside facing rooms intimidate you; the cool Athens weather doesn't make it an inconvenience. I would stay at this hotel again.

Very nice. Didn't feel like "just a hotel. " Felt like a travel experience. Room came with a free "bark box! " My dog ate dog treats for the first time in years! We haven't found any that she likes. She does enjoy our leftover pizza and burgers though. Maybe she's spoiled?

What a unique, charming place to stay. We celebrated our anniversary with a concert and overnight in the Hoyt House. The facilities could not have been better, the staff is empowered to assist with little glitches. Everyone we dealt with was most helpful and pleasant. We will come back.

I honestly would give it 0 stars but that isn’t an option. We checked in Wednesday with kiddos very excited for a good night rest and attending the Fist Tech Challenge the next 3 days. We check in and get to our room and they smell horrible… like mold/mildew. I called the front desk and he said I will change your rooms. The room he was moving is to smelled worse so we stayed in the room we were in because there wasn’t other options. They brought a $40 coupon card to our room for an apology. That night my son who is allergic to mold/mildew woke me up going outside because he couldn’t sleep and couldn’t breath. The next day housekeeping showed up and I explains the troubles and so far she has been the only person with brains of the bunch… she brought a dehumidifier and another machine to clean the air. They seemed to help and the smell was not as apparent. So today we get back and go straight to the Foundry to eat — and upon payingbhe said the $40 card they gave us was for a single mean not $40 so since I am with the robotics team I didn’t make a fuss said whatever and went back to our room. When we get back to our room we discovered they took the dehumidifier and air purifier and the smell was back full force and if that wasn’t enough to endure from the $140 per night room I called the front desk to see if they would bring the machines back so my child could sleep the phone rang and rang and then they picked it up and hung up not once but twice.

Its a cool place, but I think it's a bit overrated/overpriced for what it is. — I don't appreciate that the hotel is not upfront at booking about charging for parking. -Heat isn't on in the rooms when you check in. Our room was FREEZING. -the showers are weird — they have half a glass wall, but it isn't actually long enough so it gets water all over the floor. And lets in cold air. There was also small areas of mold in the shower, but minor. -as some other reviewers have stated, the rooms have a slight smell. It personally didn't bother me, but I can imagine it being bothersome if you are sensitive to smells. -Plus: the beds and pillows are extremely comfortable! And obviously the decor is great.

Great weekend getaway. Within walking distance to The Classic Center. This is such a swanky/modern little place. The rooms are really great and the decor fits the style of the hotel. Shower had great water pressure, heat/air worked great. For being an exterior entrance hotel off the street, it was pretty quiet. On site coffee shop and many other cool things, like live music. A good cup of coffee and an in-house made fresh daily are a win!

The Graduate Hotel is conveniently located in downtown Athens, Georgia. I have stayed at this hotel 4 times for business and I have enjoyed my stay each time. The hotel is very unique, and it's obvious that they have put a lot of thought into the decor. A few of the bathrooms in my rooms could have been a little cleaner, but really nothing major and definitely better than some other hotels! The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. There is also a spa, coffee shop, and event venue located at the hotel, but unfortunately I didn't get to visit these places due to the nature of my stay. I would recommend this hotel to others.

The Graduate is a 70’s themed, quaint, eclectic/quirky boutique B&B turned hotel. The lobby is situated in a nice sized coffee shop. When I arrived around 1:00p. M. The shop was filled with patrons chatting and working. I initially had a room in building C near the back, but then switched to building A so I would be near the front. One thing to note is that all rooms are exterior access. The room keys are made to loon like old student IDs. The room decor follows the eclectic, kitschy theme, and look pretty identical to the photos on the Graduate’s website, which I appreciated. Supposedly, there are live bands and concerts at The Foundry on the property. Unfortunately, I was visiting the area on a Monday and there were no live shows scheduled. Overall, I enjoyed experiencing a different overnight stay. Ultimately, I do prefer a more traditional hotel.

Really cute hotel in Athens. We have stayed there twice and enjoyed both experiences. Very friendly staff with knowledge of the surrounding area. They gave us great suggestions on where to grab drinks and breakfast. The decor in the lobby and rooms is really nice. The room was really clean and the bed was comfy.

This place was pretty terrible. There is a lack of sufficient parking for guests whenever there is an event in one of the on sight venues. They seem to be shooting for something of a hipster vibe with the furnishings, but it just comes off as cheap and cheesy. The rooms and bathrooms are small and the furniture is too big, which makes them seem even smaller. The toilet shot water all over the bathroom every time it was flushed. They never made up our room, for some reason. A giant cockroach ran across the room while one of us was showering. The shower itself is a ridiculous design, which allows water to get all over the room (causing a need to use towels to soak it all up). The coffee shop was painfully slow. This place tries to be lots of style, with southern charm. It comes off as lazily operated, with slow and innattentive service, and just ugly. Go somewhere else.

What makes The Graduate so different than the other hotels in downtown Athens is that it brings some the feeling of the culture of college and Accenture ISM to the rooms. They are not particularly large nor are they particularly well furnished, but the style matches Athens very well. There's an fifties look to all of the furniture, and the occupants are well taken care of. The service is nice, the materials provided are of high quality, and The Foundry restaurant is always good. Well the hotel is within walking distance of downtown Athens best offerings, it is not far from being so. If parking is particularly bad downtown, it's certainly possible to walk to the bars and restaurants, however if it's a hot evening, it may not be preferable. The cost of rooms is reasonable. While the state of Georgia and Athens-Clarke County have both passed taxes, The Graduate takes these into account at the time of booking unlike some more notable hotel chains.

The rooms were very clean and well decorated. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were nice. The lobby is very charming and everyone was just very friendly. No complaints here at all.

Very cool location. Central to the venues we were interested in. Very comfortable accommodations and nicely designed. A great attention to detail was put into the Graduate.

Our stay was a little funky due to some issues with our room, but after providing the hotel with feedback, we were contacted and compensated for the drama. I highly recommend the Graduate Athens and will stay there again when I get back to Athens!

This place is adorably vintage and made to feel like a quaint 60s/70s hotel with the theme of college from the same. It's very well done and the whole place is decorated as such and very comfy. The beds were comfortable and the water pressure & hot water were awesome. I will definitely be staying here again. My one complaint was the housekeeping person actually knocking on our door at like 9 am to tell us the checkout was at noon. We already knew that and had our do not disturb sign clearly on the door. She came back again just before 11 to do the same and both times I found it both obnoxious and insulting. Not to mention the first time it woke us up after a late night from a concert, which is why we were there.

This is a personable and beautiful hotel near downtown Athens Georgia. The rooms have interesting and attractive remodeling and the entire facility grounds are lovely.

This is a really cool, unique hotel. Everything about the decor and ambiance is unique, and rooms are very affordable.

We stayed here for a wedding once and really enjoyed it. The rooms are retro, but very comfortable. Was a little surprised that it was a motel, but it's a nice one. Good location adjacent to downtown.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was decorated nicely and the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed using the bicycles they provided free of charge. The bathroom was updated and very urban. Overall a great place to stay and I would highly recommend to anyone needing a place to stay in Athens.

I've stayed multiple times, and we'll never stay anywhere else in Athens. The beds are fresh and comfortable with 4 oversized down pillows, but the bathroom is really where this hotel beats other area hotels. All stylish quarks aside (and this hotel is very well decorated), the bathroom has a few little aspects that make it head and shoulders above others. Full size shampoo, conditioner, and soap bottles, an open glass shower door, and walk in shower style all work together to make you feel at home. And I can't say this enough — the graduate is CLEAN.

Loved that this hotel was adjacent to a FANTASTIC concert venue and GREAT Spa… BOTH, I’d give 5 stars. If you’re interested, I’ll give all aspects of The Graduate/Foundry compound a review so read on. The Foundry: New food menu gets 4.5 stars for taste and is very reasonably priced and came with very nice servers… ALL the staff we encountered at The Foundry seemed to love their job and saw after the needs of their customers w/a desire to please! Love it… The Spa: Couple’s Massage. Great. Professional and VERY nice staff. The Graduate: While booking our anniversary weekend, I got a few mixed messages… Not knowing what to expect crowd wise, ended up buying our Foundry tickets on line to have them waiting at Will Call… NOT NECESSARY… concert admission comes with the room… $18 lost, but whatever. Just wish this would have been made clear via website or by the followup customer care phone call (which I LOVED! ) that I received… I also bought the late checkout option for $25… This would have been great HAD WE HAD A GOOD BREAKFAST OPTION. We ended up driving around Athens looking for breakfast… Everything was PACKED. THIS REALLY hurt our overall satisfaction… ROOMS: Housekeeping staff were GREAT. Courteous smiles and eager to please every time… Rooms are cute, clean, comfortable, extremely quiet and the bed was splendid. The bathroom was very nice, well kept, and upgraded. BUT, our room was damp. Woke up with that "camping out" feeling several times during the night.

I just recently held my wedding reception here. We had many guests in town who stayed at the hotel, and I also stayed there for the wedding weekend. Everything was wonderful! They were so accommodating and friendly. The rooms are really unique. I stayed in the Athena Suite with my bridesmaids, and the room was awesome! So clean and spacious. We also loved the unique chalkboard wall. All of our other guests were also very complimentary of their rooms. Their location is perfect and very convenient to UGA and Downtown Athens. I would highly recommend Graduate Athens.

My husband and I stayed one night with a wedding party and had an overall good experience at Graduate Athens. The staff was incredible friendly and very helpful. A positive experience that needs to be mentioned is that upon realizing that I left my wallet behind, I called the front desk and the necessary steps were taken to get that back to me. Whew! We enjoyed the retro-modern/UGA decor although we were concerned about the large crevices in the seal of the door and the room had a slight odor. I cant put my finger on the smell but maybe it is from an air freshener, cleaner or detergent that is being used. I don't know, but like a said, we had a good experience that was worth mentioning.

I recently stayed at the Graduate Athens. The renovations that they have done are beautiful! The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful! The room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. Iron works is a super cute coffee shop located inside the hotel. Highly recommend! Will definitely stay here again.

Not only is the Graduate a fantastic hotel that my parents usually stay at when they come to Athens, it also has a great coffee shop in the lobby that is my favorite spot to study at in Athens. The decor of the coffee shop is very warm and artsy, and the baristas are some of the friendliest people I have ever met. Great spot for a unique play to stay/study at in Athens! If you come, get the white chocolate raspberry scone — you won't be disappointed.

I love Iron Works Coffee Company in The Graduate! I come here every day for a coffee and the best cinnamon rolls. The baristas are the sweetest girls, the coffee shop and lobby smell like home, and the whole atmosphere is unlike any other. I'm so glad that Athens has a place like Iron Works for college students to study, catch up with friends, or just lounge after a long day of class with a delicious mocha with chocolate made from scratch or a blueberry muffin made that morning.

Definitely book here! Rooms are comfortable and quirky, coffee shop breakfast is delicious, and the music venue is one of the best in town. There is also a spa where you can get a discount on a couples massage if you're staying at the hotel. The staff are amazing and very welcoming. Highly recommended.

I was in Athens for business and stumbled upon this wonderful hotel. They just finished renovating the entire property. I didn't have to leave the property it had everything, restaurant/music venue (great food and guest of the hotel get in free! ), a lobby cafe which came in handy at 9pm at night when I was too busy to go out to eat (had an incredible cuban sandwich and a beer to wash it down). They even have a Spa which I will try the next time I'm in town. What stuck out the most was the staff, everyone was so helpful and friendly.

Upon arrival to this Inn the looks are definitely deceiving. The construction that is obviously on-going is a definitely problem. The rooms doors have gaps to allow critters in the room. After a long day, I walked in to a spider crawling along the wall of the bathroom and a large pinky size cockroach crawling out of the bathroom early in the morning. I am not a critter fan and paying $100 a night for an upfront bug view is not an enjoyable moment. Lastly, there was no small frig or a microwave for use. Oh and lets not forget some old pictures at the end of the bed on a dresser while you view the TV. One thing is for sure, I will not recommend or stay at this Inn ever again. The only great part was the SPA.

Very friendly to electric vehicles. Found a 110 plug for my car. Very nice about it. Great place to stop.

Very clean rooms, very quiet. I stayed on the first floor and could not hear my neighbors to the side or on top, which is amazing since the place was sold out when I was there. I'd definitely stay here again, and I like that it's in a pretty central location to downtown. Also, they offered a shuttle to and from UGA campus. Highly recommended.

The rooms are nice, though the beds were way too firm and I felt springs in my back. The staff was very helpful and courteous, though I do like to sleep late, especially while on vacation, and didn't particularly appreciate the leaf blowers outside my room in the morning. I was a bit surprised that as a spa hotel, there weren't any bathrobes available in the room.

I stayed here for my wedding a couple weeks ago. The suite was gorgeous and the regular rooms were well put together as well. The regular rooms are comparably priced to some other area hotels. The suites are expensive, but I decided to splurge for my wedding and thought it was well worth it. The service during the wedding itself and room service were great. Night manager tracked down a random request for me at 11PM and was very polite to my guests and myself. Hoyt House breakfast was delicious as well. I know for my mother, parking was an issue on Friday night since there was an event at the Melting Point, but they have parking attendants during events to help her out, which they did.
