For $90, I'm not impressed. Small room, a bed they called queen that was barely a full and an air conditioner that either froze you or blew warm. On the plus, the continental breakfast had a lot of variety and the shower was substantial. For the price differential, I'll go cheaper and buy my own bagles next time. I can see where it's a good deal for all the different trades that had vehicles in the lot, to house their workers.

Where to begin? The place was filthy, filthy, FILTHY. Everything looked scuffed, unpolished, unpainted. Seedy looking crowd hanging around the front door smoking. Hall floors had not been vacuumed in days and were not vacuumed in the 40 hours we were there. Hall carpets were filthy, sticky, greasy. Paper litter in the halls was never removed while we were there. Coffee maker in the room, but no coffee packets. Coffee in breakfast room was undrinkable. There was no working key to our room, so we had to show ID when we returned to motel and a staff member walked us upstairs to open the door. Ice Machine did not work. Lamp in room did not work. Room refrigerator froze everything that we put in it. Stains on sheets suggest they had not been washed! Motel guests were fat, ugly and tattooed. The place looked like public housing. Staff were patient and nice, but this was no compensation for all the other problems. And this place was not cheap. We paid $70 a night. We've gotten much better rooms for $50.

Well, what can I say? It looks fairly nice from the outside, so at first the not so cheap, but not so expensive price didn't seem too much. UNTIL, I stayed there for a few days and apparently the city of Athens must use this hotel for people they don't have room for in public housing. It was like hanging out in a neighborhood, where everyone had been there for a while and they weren't exactly doing legal things. The cops were called several times, fights between residents/guests. I was happy to leave.

Looked like old income based housing, needs updating & exterminator. Killed a bed bug here. Don't recommend. Gave 2 stars because in a nice area.

First of all water was flooding all on the bathroom floor, I had no light in bathroom, and it smelled terrible. They initially were supposed to charge 221.97. The next day they charged me Again. Overdrafted my account. They refunded that. The next day they charged more than $440 overdrafted account again. Do not stay at this place, your financial information is not safe and they are scammers.

It was a hotel full of hookers and drugs with poor service horrible horrible place do not recommend this I would rather sleep with a homeless crackhead they serve fresh crack and weed in the morning can't forget the foul odor of weed cigarettes and hooker sweat.

The staff are pleasant and helpful, from the gentleman who manages during the day to the housekeepers. The hotel is quiet (no traffic noise) since it's off the main road. Rooms are neat and clean but not deep cleaned; nothing I would consider unhealthy or gross. The nightly rate is so reasonable I had no problem going over the room with antibacterial wipes; something I would have done wherever we stayed.

Very bad experience. Staff is great, very nice courteous. The building is old and needs major overhaul. Many things broken or not working properly.

My stay wasn't too bad because I don't need much. Sheets weren't fully cleaned. A bulb missing from the lamp. All the negative reviews especially about shady activity had me anxious. Would never stay here with family.

Had a GREAT stay at Microtel in Athens. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great continental breakfast. Had very good 3 day stay would highly recommend it.

We visited our son at UGA and thought this would be a good choice, as other Microtels we've stayed at were very satisfactory. We booked via Expedia. Outside, no issues… normal. Inside was dingy, but high traffic lobby. I walk with a leg brace and cane, very noticeable, however the clerk gave us a room on the 2nd floor. NO elevator. Wasn't possible to get a 1st floor. Handrails only part of the way. The water pressure was super slow, so the toilet took several minutes to refill when flushed aND muse have been leating bease the floop was full of waterrorism the next morning. The refrigerator in the room should have been retired 10 years ago, for it made noises that would wake us making us think someone was knocking at the door. When we told someone, they simply said "Thanks for telling us". We will be back to Athens, but I'll be happy to stay somewhere else.

Was undergoing renovations during my visit but it still felt very old and dirty. The room was decent and clean. The receptionist opened the door to my mother's room without prior warning while she was in the room and then called to apologize for "opening the wrong door. " There was a robbery across the hall, indicating a security issue. We also saw that some doors didn't seem to shut securely. Would not recommend.

It was nicer than I expected it to be. The staff could have been a little more friendly. Overall tho it was good.

Not too bad for the price. Pretty clean and quiet. Comfy bed. Wi-Fi is super slow, but that's to be expected.

Very well kept. The staff was excellent. Everything was great.

The staff was amazing. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was great. The hotel itself was pretty run done. The side door was broken. The ice machine was broken. The drink machine was broken. Also the breakfast was far from fresh. The rooms were clean but very out dated. The mattresses were VERY old and sunken in. The ONLY reason we didn't leave and stay somewhere else was because the staff were AMAZING!

This was by far the worst Microtel I've ever been to. The hotel smelled like a swimming pool in the lobby, the air conditioner did not work in my room, and I had to be given a different room because the door didn't work to the room I reserved. The hotel wasn't very clean, it was overall a poor experience.

The air conditioning unit did not work good. It ran all day at 54 degrees and it was still hot in there. The front desk guy was rude.

Pretty gross conditions. We had to ask for a new set of sheets and towels. Also management was pretty rude and overall unaccommodating. While the hotel wasn't in great shape that's forgivable, but there's no excuse for rude employees. Also, it wasn't even the cheapest place in town. I would seriously recommend staying somewhere else.

Arrived, but didn't check in! It was sketchy from the parking lot alone… lots of questionable people lurking about. The hotel is in obvious disrepair. My standards for motels are pretty low, but this was deplorable. Everything seemed to be falling apart. The lobby was filthy. The room I asked to see before checking in smelled of mildew and vinegar. I didn't get the feeling that this is a safe place at all.

Lets start with the good — — location, convenient to 'downtown' Athens, walking distance to restaurants and moderately priced by Athens standards. Clean room, and a fantastic breakfast — by far the best 'free' breakfast ever from a chain motel — — besides eggs and 'make your own pancakes', a yogurt bar with fresh fruit, granola and all manner of toppings. Plus biscuits, gravy, sausages, grated cheese and salsa for a make your own breakfast sandwich, toast, muffins, cereal and more. Can't think of anything they didn't have — even peanut butter and honey! Now, the noise — oy, the noise. There were road crews staying there and they were up at 4 am clattering up and down stairs to being their shifts. Not their fault of course, hard workers. But didn't make for a restful night/morning. Plus, the hotel is being expanded, so the workers for THAT project were up and outside our room bright and super early, with trucks idling just outside, backing up with the 'beep beep' sound and all that. Of course it's not always like that, but that was our experience, so folks should be adivsed (this was in February but I imagine the work is ongoing. ). Might stay there again, might look for something else. All in all good value. That killer breakfast went a long way to making the rest bearable. Also the attendant in the breakfast area was so personable and friendly and kept it incredibly neat, clean and organized and replenished items well before they ran out.

Nice place. The staff were nice and the place is very, very, very quiet. The rooms were bigger than the average hotel room and when you walk in the room you can smell the cleaning supplies — you can smell housekeeping do a great job. I will recommend this place to anybody with a high five rating.

The staff was VERY RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL! We went to check in and the desk clerk was making mistakes and being short with us because she had her toddler on her hip, and another one walking around in the back. We checked in after 5pm and most of our rooms were not ready, not even been cleaned. Night staff followed us around up and down the hallways in a stalkish manner. They also had an infant in the room when they were cleaning the rooms to get ready for us to check-in. The worst experience EVER at a hotel in Athens.

The staff was awesome except for the manager Alex. He is rude and disrespectful to guests. It's not the nicest place but you get what you pay for and the front desk and house keeping work hard to make your stay a pleasant. Unfortunately because of the manager Alex, I will never stay here again. I am in management and his hospitality is the opposite of what I believe someone who is in management and hospitality business should be.

This is a HORRIBLE place with HORRIBLE management/customer service. If I could put zero stars I would. I will never book a room here ever again. I had several complaints during my stay and nothing was done about it. The sheets had stains and the water was not clean either. The non smoking room smelled like smoke. The toilet was leaking making the carpet wet and due to the discoloration of the water it could not be used period. I was not notified that the pipes were broken until AFTER I paid my money. Unacceptable. I was told to wait until the manager arrived to discuss a possible refund. Of course he never showed up and I had to check out at 11 am. I was told once I checked out I was out of the system, and there was nothing they could do about it. But to leave my contact information and he would give me a call. He calls me just to tell me he will give me 10% off my next stay. Are you serious? What a rip off. They did not care about my horrible experience all they cared about was ripping me off! I even called corporate they did nothing about it. Do not book here!

I really didn't enjoy my experience at this hotel. I was disappointed with the facility and I was filled with complete and utter disgust. My colleagues and I witnessed specimens of Marijuana and certain pills. There were sightings of bloody sheets and needles. My experience is not one that will be forgotten and certainly not repeated. This hotel can be described as a travesty and a disgrace to Athens.

A negative star rating would be more appropriate for this "Bates Motel". We had several rooms reserved for a conference. When we first checked in, we noticed the exchange of guests coming in and it that appeared suspicious. All of the rooms smelled, (nasty wet carpet and marijuana) had blood stained sheets, burn holes, drugs in the window seal, and razor blades on the floor. Our first night (and only night of what was 3) there was a drug bust in the room next door which clearly smelled of marijuana. (Which within a few hours into the early night, the ownership of the facility changed) In one of the rooms when the toilet was flush it backed up into the tub. We reported the situation, which was not fixed. No concern here because we demanded to check out and get a full refund. The experience was one I would never forget. It was a scene from the start of a horror film.

Rooms were really nice the front desk guy was really nice. Bathrooms were ok the water pressure was really low. For 3 people for 84.00 that's a good deal. Came with 2 full or queen beds couldn't tell.

Stayed here a few times. It's good and basic. Been clean every time. Hot water was out once. But hey! It happens. If you are looking for "luxury" stay elsewhere. If you want a clean, basic room-they've got it.

Don't waste your money. Sleep in your car, or buy a blanket at Walmart and sleep under a tree. It is so dirty and it SMELLS! The people across the hall from us offered us their febreze. The front desk people are the rudest people and need to be exposed. We bought two nights for UGA graduation and stayed none. Howard Johnson's gave us a clean decent room.

This place doesn't even deserve one star. The room look like something that came out of a meth documentary. I didn't want to touch anything because felt like the entire room was covered with diseases. The sheets AND pillows had blood on them, yes I said blood! The smell was completely awful. I think I'll be having nightmares about this place for a long time. Just thinking about it makes my skin crawl. Do not stay here.

No elevator, so if you're in a wheelchair you better pray you're on the bottom floor. Hallway smelled like weed. Room smelled like weed, and it was a non smoking room, carpet was disgusting, hookers everywhere, shower sucked, no parking at night, breakfast sucks. Some of that yogurt was there for days let out. Milk was expired, towels and wash rags were stained, sheets had stains. Don't stay here.

I have been traveling across the US for several weeks and this is the worst place I have stayed at. The gentleman at check-in did not have the best social skills, checked me in barely saying a word. Very minimal courtesy, but I'm not too picky so I let it fly. The room sucked. There was a terrible smell, like somebody emptied a gallon of Raid in there and didn't bother to air it out. On the bright side there were no bugs. But all my stuff smelled like Raid for the next couple days. The furniture looked beat up, the shower-head was loose in the wall, water pipes from faucet and toilet were also loose messed-up looking. There was a door connecting to the adjacent room (for those who want to join up two rooms), however on my side the lock was broken, so there was no way to close it. Basically my neighbors could have walked into my room if they pleased. The breakfast was OK, basic coffee + sweets, though also had fruit which was nice. But the kitchen was terribly small and poorly laid-out, everyone kept bumping into each other while trying to get their food. On check out, the guy just took my key and said bye, didn't bother asking me how my experience was. To make matters worse, they charged me 100 bucks for the room AFTER discount from AAA, which makes it the most expensive motel I've ever stayed at. I would tolerate this room if it was maybe $40, but would warn people to stay away otherwise.

Our Daughter went down for a weekend with some friends and when they checked in the room was disgusting and smelled awful. The staff was very rude and refused to do anything about the room and would not refund the full amount. The room was so bad that they decided to leave and forfeit the money they had spent instead of staying in a horrible room. When we called to speak to the manager he was once again very rude and told me he didn't care whether she stayed or not but he was not going to refund if they left. Foreign owners are awful.

Great room clean and quite. Breakfast wasn't bad too waffles :).

Rooms are really rundown and mist of the AC units don't function properly.
