Excellent food and ale staff are very nice and chef came to see that everything was fine really nice guy and excellent chef will be back for an evening meal soon.

Met with a few friends for a meal outside. Food was fantastic, with huge portions and incredible chips!
Had the lamb shank, which was delicious. Then, a chocolate brownie pudding, which totally hit the spot. Taste and presentation were faultless.
We'll be coming again!

Had a brilliant meal at The Red Lion last Wednesday. Lovely variety of food on the menu. The homemade chips were amazing, best I've had! Staff were lovely, great service and it was fab to see the chef coming to chat to customers. We will be back for sure.

Lovely home cooked food and lovely staff. Stopped over as well and room was well presented and clean and snug. we're from out of the area, but we were made to made to feel welcome and really enjoyed our time.

Wow, I have just ordered a carvery in a medium size. There is so much there I have enough for two meals and the food is absolutely delicious. Excellent customer service and a prompt delivery service. I would highly recommend xx.

Have been coming to the red lion alot since the new chef took over he makes great food and if there are any requests he will do his best to make your evening pleasant. Customer service means alot to him and I believe he deserves a shout out. Doesnt always hide in the kitchen will come to check food is ok and listen to feedback to make his service better. He is fair with his prices and has recently produced a new lunch time menu which is lovely. Always look forward to another visit.

We came for food this afternoon, the Chef came to personally talk to us about his dishes which we found very informative and so helpful. I chose Goan beef curry, my husband traditional chicken curry, both were spiced up for us personally, the pilaf rice was amazing, the service and food was a beautiful experience, thank you, we will be back.

We have been staying at Brynderwen Holiday Cottage for the last week, and have had take out food from The Red Lion twice in this time.
Both times the food was hot, on time and delicious! I can highly recommend the burger — very filling and full of flavour.
Will definitely be back next time we stay!

Food took an hour to come, even though it was very quiet.
Beef burger was over cooked and dry. One order was also wrong.
On the plus side the waiting staff were polite and helpful.

Had our first mixed grill and it was fantastic! must admit best chips had in long time! and delivery right on time! would recommend for definite. Well done everyone your doing fantastic job!

First time trying here and I’ve got to say it’s One of the best Sunday lunches we’ve had in a long time, big portions and tastes absolutely amazing! Will definitely be a regular thing now.

Had a lovely takeaway from the red lion this evening… the pie was delicious and the curry was lush. Totally full now… even our dog Ella enjoyed the food. Thank you for your service xxx.

I ordered a Sunday lunch for myself and my child today and I have to say it was fantastic. I highly recommend this and will be ordering again in the near future.

Thank you to The Red Lion for a lovely lunch yet again and especially on Mother’s Day. The staff where so well organised in the system they had for us to collect the meals as well.
Highly recommended and hope you continue to trade this way for as long as possible.

What can I say about this place I’ve bean staying there nearly 2 months somewhere to put my head after helping friend out on his farm I wouldn’t give it 5stars but definitely 11stars such friendly bar staff great atmosphere beers cheap foods is amazing can’t fault the food Eric Stuart who do the cooking top marks and great guys to chat to have a drink with same as bar staff are brilliant service is brilliant with a smile definitely no sad faces there rooms are brilliant specially Henry Mary breakfast is amazing cleaners come in the morning such friendly people specially one who is amazing best cuppa tea I’ve had she makes best cuppa I’ve had of anyone just hoping my friend I’m working for wants me helping longer as I really love it at the red lion Llangadog if you haven’t bean I truly recommend going best place I’ve bean for very long time don’t want to leave I’ve met and had drinks with the locals they make you feel welcoming warm and friendly even though I’m a English man such beautiful place and so is Wales is totally amazing 11stars out of 10

Called in for lunch and was not disappointed. It was good food, well presented and ample portions. The staff was very polite and welcoming and the restaurant had a warm friendly atmosphere. Will definitely be eating there again.

Atmosphere was not to my liking. Most odd. Sunday lunch tasted like defrosted beef. Generous portions and very friendly staff. But I left with an upset stomach before a mad dash to the toilets. Mushrooms in cream more likely the culprit. So would not go back. That being said my colleagues were fine and they enjoyed their food.

Lovely medieval/Tudor style pub with good food menu. My boyfriend had the actual biggest plate of ribs either of us have ever seen, amazing for the price! I had a very nice beef and ale pie, could not finish it as also massive! The staff are really lovely and friendly.

Lovely pub in peaceful pretty village. We were driving through Llangadog Wednesday of this week and decided to stop as needed lunch. Had a lovely inexpensive lunch in this four/five hundred year old establishment. This was supported by members of staff who willingly and proudly told us the history. Same staff who served us in a polite and pleasant manner. All in all a delightful experience will definitely repeat and share with others.

Checked in sat 23rd june room clean sink plug was stuck couldn't empty sink, had an evening meal food was good bar service great, got up for breakfast Sunday at 8 staff had just arrived only cereal laid out no milk waited a while for tea and coffee waited another 50 minutes for wrong breakfast orders even tho we had pre ordered the nite before, did get a reduction on evening meal to compensate only after refusing to pay in full for b&b this spoilt the whole experience would not return.

I have been here a few times for a sunday carvery lunch and it has been delicious every time. Hats off to the staff always friendly with super portions of well cooked food.

Brilliant pub/hotel, we had a Henry VIII themed room with four posted bed! yet it had an up-to-date modern bathroom (YES! ) and superbly helpful and friendly staff. Brilliant all-round, thanks!

The £12 lunch special for two was amazing value and extremely tasty. We went for the liver & Onions/Chicken & Ham pie. Both we freshly cooked, well presented and full of flavour. All the staff are friendly and the selection of beer excellent. Nice to visit an authentic pub that serves great food and drink without the inflated prices of the deadful gasto_pubs that are blight on the landscape. Do yourself a favour and visit The Red Lion for home cooked proper food and a warm welcome. Excellent!

Simply the best Sunday lunch I've ever had. 6 different meats covering a large plate. Triple cooked crispy parsnips. Fantastic gravy. Just one tip. Tell chef if you don't want a huge portion. Oh, the real ale is great too.

Fantastic staff, very helpful and friendly, lovely pub downstairs, great breakfast. I wasn't happy with my room though. I felt it was unfinished, tatty, TV not working (the girl explained it needed a lead) … No bin in my room. I would visit again if I got a better room, credit to the staff!

Lovely Pub. Cowl served when the rugby is on. Very delishes served with stunning bread and jersey cow butter. Very cosy pub. Great beers and ales. Great vibe.

The food was outstanding. The sirloin was incredible it cut like a hot knife through butter the best cut of meat I've ever tasted and I've eaten loads of steak. Can't wait to try the Sunday carvery as everyone I've spoken to has highly recommend it. Look forward to coming back.

Went there this evening for a nice night out for food and was not disappointed. I ordered the bbq chicken wings which were absolutely fantastic followed by a lovely sirloin steak (best local steak I've had in a long time). Service was pleasant and atmosphere was welcoming, highly recommended.

The food here is top class, as is the friendly service, my reason for just one star is the fact that you just don't get enough food. We went here with friends for a meal and we were still starving after it, which was such a shame. Their prices are about average, but offer poor value for money when you consider how little food you actually get for your money. Avoid if you have reasonable appetites!
