My husband and I stayed here Memorial Day weekend 2021. It was a splurge for us since it was a holiday, but worth every penny! Convenient enough that we could walk everywhere in town. Comfortable chairs right outside the room that were perfect for reading and people watching. The inn was very quaint and full of history. Our room and bathroom were clean and coffee was easy to find in the morning. No breakfast, but that gave us the chance to go down to Market Street and try the offerings there. Such a beautiful hotel in a lovely town. Will definitely stay again if our travels bring us back this way.

What a lovely time we've had in this historic place. The highlight, however, was the time spent on the beautiful Victorian porch with the precious house kitty. The two days we spent here could only have been better if we had five!

Tv didn’t work. Manager refused to call maintenance man. Room was small. A/C had no control. Avoid at all costs. Not worth the money.

Dirty toilet, bathroom, and rug; lukewarm shower, broken curtain rod, 2 of 3 light bulbs burned out, unprofessional and non-responsive staff.

Thought there would be breakfast. No. They said because of COVID. All restaurants at full capacity. COVID no longer a reason.

Staff friendly and helpful lovely historic building, porches, rooms nicely appointed within walking distance to restaurants and shopping,. Take time to walk the historic district, it's lovely, takes picnic to Lafayette Park.

I’ve been coming to Coombs in for 6 years and the past two times have been a horrible experience. The management staff is BEYOND rude to the point to where I just came home day early. The manager (Lee) there needs to be fired; she does Not know public hospitality. For what you pay to stay at this hotel it is not worth the money and there are plenty of places to stay in this area that not only are nicer but better accommodations. Beds where filthy and chairs had previous split liquid on it — very disturbing especially given covid going on. The property itself is filthy and has not been well managed — I myself love old all buildings which is the reason why I’ve gone this hotel for so many years; However it has gone down not only in the service but the people who run this hotel. So very disappointing I hope in the near future this does change.

We recently stayed a couple of nights there. We had no room service while we were there, not a housekeeper in sight. And I injured myself on their patio deck and ended up in the ER. The deck was poorly maintained, but the front desk insisted it was my fault for being barefooted. Not a word from the motel. I called Choice Hotels customer service, and they called the property. They said the manager, Lee, would call me within three to five days. Well guess what…, and it proved he has no concern for his guests. All in all, it was a poor stay. I won’t stay there again.

Great accommodations! The Inn is a beautiful home conveniently located within walking distance to downtown area shopping and dining. Staff was very friendly. Will definitely stay here again.

The desk clerk was very nice and polite I like the atmosphere it is very clean.

Old charm, lovely architecture. Friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast and evening snacks are a nice plus.

The room was clean and the bed comfy. Yolanda checked us in and out. She was very nice and accommodating. We plan to go back again next year for our anniversary. We really enjoyed our stay.

Short walk to town. About 3 minutes. Great atmosphere and service.

It was dirty, TV was missing from the sitting room and no one even knew that until we told them? Telephone did not work, lights in the fan only half worked, dust and dirt behind night sands in bedroom, due to no gutters, the rain that night dripped, dripped, dripped on the window sill next to the headboard. Continental breakfast was very poor and not friendly. Only "I'm sorry" from the desk personnel… no action. Would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. We reserved a King bed room and when we arrived were told we were upgraded to a 'villa' out back. It was horrible. Reserved there for 2 days left immediately the next morning!

This place will call you a thief when you're not and then steal your money. Horrible customer service, run down. Do not stay here!

It is difficult in the space allotted to state everything that we love about the Coombs Inn. It is historic, beautiful, elegant, fun, the employees are incredible and the pricing is great. It has changed a little since becoming a Choice hotel, yes, some changes are things I hope Choice sees are best NOT changed and will restore. The real plates and coffee cups, the wonderful breakfast casseroles, etc. Small things, yes, but things that are missed. I still love the Coombs and Tracy and each of the folks who work there. We will continue to go and stay there when in Apalachicola. Always.

Their website says to call to book if you have a pet so I did, he quoted me prices much higher than listed on multiple websites, but most importantly their pet fee is listed as $25/night but on the phone he argued with me it was actually $35 a night and refused to honor their own rate listed on their own website. He was rude and told me I was at the wrong website (even though I called the number listed on that same website). We chose not to book with them because of the rudeness and inconsistent pricing. I can't speak to how an actual stay is at this hotel.

The rooms are very exceptional, the ambiance is outstanding. The service is very good. Breakfast also.

The food was a highlight of the morning. Our room was beautiful. We stayed in the Coombs room. Of note, the jets in the tub did not work and the hot water runs out while filling, but is a good soaking tub. We thoroughly enjoyed Yolanda on the days she worked. Very personable and gave great suggestions for things to see and do. I was not impressed with the blonde who gave me the impression that she had other things to do than be an innkeeper. She never bothered to introduce herself.

Great place to stay, except when I woke up to an electrician drilling into the wall opposite my bed, before breakfast! He apologized but kept working anyway. After a one inch auger came through the wall eight inches above my head and showered me with wood chips, the manager upgraded us and gave us a free night. I wondered how they could shave bacon so thin for breakfast?

We booked our room months ago only to find out that they assigned us the incorrect room when we arrived on Friday June 22nd 2018. I even called to ask for the same room that we stayed in (Later found out that it was called the Honeymoon Suite) back in 2009. I clicked on the picture and saw the room and was excited to have the same room. On our last visit, there was no hot water in the room. So we figured that we would try it again in hopes that they fixed the plumbing issues. The management made no effort to reconcile the situation and kind of stayed away from us. The only person that was helpful at all was Tracy. The weekend was entirely booked and it seems that her help could not arrive on time and she was left to manage the Inn frequently by herself. The cleaning people never made our bed or cleaned our glasses from the night before. We will never come back to this establishment! I cannot see how this made the SELECT REGISTRY LIST.

Beautiful mansion. Pet friendly suites are seperate from the main mansion which are very private. Loved the jacuzzi tub. Would recommend better quality pillows, as well as a full length mirror. Staff were very nice. Enjoyed the complimentary breakfast very much. Ate downtown at Tamaras which was outstanding. Definitely will return.

Enjoyed my stay very much, have a pet so stayed out back, which afforded me with a great deal of privacy which I appreciate. Kathy was exceptionally thoughtful and helped me be able to stay an extra day. The staff was very nice and attentive, made me feel very much at home. My only complaint would be the pillows, next time I'll just bring my own. The location is outstanding, I love the small — town with it's quaint shops but plan to dine early as most restaurants close at 9 p. M. A few stay open until 10.

Overall very nice place to stay. Shower could be better. Check in person, not rude but not friendly. Morning staff was pleasant, friendly and other guests very nice and respectful.

Awesome place, very friendly staff. Great breakfast. Had a pretty bad storm roll through early morning and a tree limb was hanging on the power lines between main house and others. Tracy was running the kitchen and coordinating with emergency crews to ensure everyone's safety until the limbs could be removed. And still getting everything ready in the dark. Well done. We will definitely be staying here again…

Lovely old house, very relaxing but also close to the centre of town. Proper cooked breakfast, homemade cakes and cookies.

My wife and I stayed a night there for our anniversary. When I called and made reservations I caught them at breakfast time. Even though I could tell the young lady was a bit harried, she was very pleasant and helpful. Patience paid off because she was able to get me a room in the main house. She was also very helpful as we needed to check in a little early. When we arrived, a different lady greeted us and was also very pleasant and helpful. We arrived before the maid was done with our room, but she checked us in, gave us our key and after a short walk around town we were able to go right in. The room was wonderful. Clean, and cozy without being cramped. This particular room had a shower that I think was under a staircase, so someone taller than my 5’10” might want to pass on room 4. As it stood, the bathroom was excellent with clean towels and plenty of t. P. The charm of this place is the over 100year old house. There are creaks, and squeaks, and you will hear the people above you moving around, but I didn’t find it invasive at all. After a good nights sleep we went for breakfast. This would be our only area where they could use some tweaking. We weren’t sure what to do. We finally found the young lady in the kitchen and realized that we place our order with her. With that out of the way, breakfast was quite tasty and very fresh. The kid in me wishes they had Applejacks as a cereal option, but that’s a personal preference.

The beds are very hard cannot get a good night's rest someone move somewhere else in the house it at goes through the entire house just not a good experience at all.

This bed and breakfast is absolutely fantastic. The room service, the breakfast, the rooms, all the landscaping is very charming. We stayed here after a wedding and were treated fantastic. It’s located in such a wonderful town and the perfect place for a getaway to Florida! We will definitely be returning!

Room was nasty (scummy mildew on floor, stains on couch and pillows, bathroom not cleaned) and hotel staff dishonest and our items went missing. Breakfast casseroles were bland and dry. Management refused to help us in anyway and was rude when we asked for help locating our items that went missing. Do not stay here!

Last minute booking in our way home from NOLA and did we ever luck out! Coomb's B&B was excellent. Room on main floor of main house was perfect for us as we both have difficulty with stairs; nicely furnished (little dim on lighting), extremely comfortable bed. Some heavy footed men above us at midnight, slightly disturbing. Staff at check-in very helpful with restaurant suggestions. Breakfast was perfect in every way; coffee hot, eggs and sausage good, fresh fruit, and choice if baked goodies. We hope to return soon. Thank you.

This place is amazing. From the checking in process to our rooms, this place was perfect! All staff were fantastic and didn't mind showing me other rooms or discussing the happenings in the area. Breakfast to was Delish and very hot! We will be heading back soon!

Not the most friendly. Room not clean The whole place needs help. Ads deceiving. Not what it is pictured to be. Very disappointed.

It's not the Inn I disliked. It's the way they handle problems (or don't). I stayed for one night, but was charged for two. I called for 5 days about the over billing. I spoke with Kristal and Tracy and I was asked to fax Andrea the appropriate paperwork and did so. Not one person has called to date to tell me the status of my over charge. After getting no answers tonight, I finally called my credit card company and disputed the charge. This is no way to treat a customer nor run a business.

I have never paid 400 dollars for two nights of displeasure and no rest. They have a make shift office right outside are door and they are loud and obnoxious. The door that people come in and out they slam slam slam all morning no rest. You can hear the people stomp all night all morning above you like elephants. No fridge or microwave either I would never stay here or recommend it to no one. I will say the staff is friendly but besideds that it suck suck sucks.

Not at all what it used to be. I was a guest more than once. This last time, I had a family emergency and had to cancel my second night. They refused a refund. Poor customer service since it no longer belongs to its original owners. It went from being a dream place to impersonal. That's what happens when you go from a family owned business to a big corporate mess.

My experience was good. The staff was very nice and helpful with information. It's a very quiet area so everything shuts down by 22:00. We slept upstairs and tried to be very conscious of walking around because we could tell by the floors creaking that whom ever was staying under us could probably hear everything. Which was kind of annoying because in a hotel one really does not have those concerns but overall the stay was nice and the rooms were clean and the staff was nice. A place you can relax. However I did find that because the town shuts down so early, if you stay out later somewhere else, like Panama City, you feel like you are potentially waking up others in other rooms that you pass by and especially when you walk up the stairs and into and around in your room. However you are on vacation so its kinda a catch 22. Do you go out and vacation like you want or worry about others bedtime and try to get back at a respectable hour? I say party, it's ur vacation but try to tip toe.

Beautiful place. Our room was downstairs and we could hear every bump coming from the upstairs. Just comes with being an old house. So if you like it nice and quiet, get an upstairs room. Very pleasant staff.

Our stay was great. The rooms are beautiful and full of antiques. Our only concern was the semi sticky floor. Our favorite part was the wraparound porch. Wonderful.

I initially stayed in the main house, huge rooms, with giant ceilings and enormous bed. I transferred to a smaller room as I was working nights, and needed to sleep in the day. The smaller room is detached from the. Main house and completely quiet. The staff have been extremely accommodating and gracious in all of their dealings with me. This is not exactly the best place to stay for a business trip, but for a base from which to explore the area, you could not ask for a better location.

Stayed at the Coombs, Veranda Suite, Dupont Room — 2 nights, Sept. 17 and Sept. 18. My feedback: Wi-Fi — None in our Suite. Managed to get Wi-Fi outside Coombs House and on veranda. Mentioned problem to the Night Service Manager and she told me that she had already contacted their IT person who would see to it next day. Apparently we were the second guest to notice. Still no Wi-Fi from the Veranda Suites area (which was less than 50 feet from main house) when we checked out a day later. TV — My husband described it as "postage-stamp sized". It's about the size of my laptop screen — — 17 inches. Just basic stations. Forget what's on the Channel Lineup Card that's in the room, that's there to bring you hope. ) I wonder if they have better TV service in the main house. PROS of Suite — — Comes with 2 queen-sized beds (one firm and the other soft mattress in the Dupont, so you actually get a choice, but perhaps it wasn't intended that way), a small kitchenette with small round table for 2 and a bathroom with claw-foot tub. CONS OF SUITE — Dim Lighting, as well as Wi-Fi and TV issues discussed above. Located along Main Highway, traffic noise filters in. The bedroom was DEFINITELY warm and had no thermostat controls. Ceiling fan helped somewhat but not with the humidity. BREAKFAST — Just okay. Usual continental breakfast offerings, plus something that approximates a quiche, plus a teeny-weeny side plate of fruit.

TOTAL CROOKS! Woman on the phone LIED and said they sent an email to my husband with their 7 day cancellation policy, when in fact they could not prove it by sending any time stamped emails to our correct address. We tried to cancel 5 days in advance, but while we were still on the phone, they CHARGED us! Guess what, the receipt for the charge and the reservation information sure did come to the right email when she ran our card. I DO NOT recommend this business to anyone. Beware beware beware!

It is hard to rate this place … very charming and my first impression was really good. My husband and I had high hopes. Of course, with further inspection I found things that made me feel like I wasn't staying in a room that cost $200. Dirty grout in the bathroom, some mildew on the shower curtain, hair in our bed, and not so professional staff. Staff was polite, just not professional. I truly feel like I was tricked. Even the breakfast that was included in our fee was terrible. Quiche and old fruit I didn't even touch. This is my first Google review and honestly I don't even know what else to say. I wish Coomb's was more honest about what is marketed vs what is delivered to the customer. That's all that it is. Honesty and good hospitality-any inn or hotel shold pride themselves in those two things. We would not stay here again. Some much wasted potential.
