The ants were horrible in the room. We were not informed until after booking and arriving for a three night stay that there was a problem with ants. At check in, there was a paper about the ants, but we were not informed we needed to have any spray with us. By the time we left our bags were full of ants and so was our vehicle. It took us an hour to purge and clean at least 3 separate groups with eggs in our vehicle upon arriving home. The mattress was worn out on our bed and the couch was as well.

There are soooooo many ants in our room. I woke this morning with the bed covered in ants. No wonder my skin was crawling all night. We went out and bought some ant spray.

This was my 4th stay here and it will always be my lodging choice when I come to Apalachocola. Rooms are more like large apartments, the views are beautiful, and anything in town is an easy walk.

Very clean and spacious rooms. Ours had 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, full kitchen, living room and screened porch overlooking river. It is nice now but that will not last long with the lack of management on site. No one is there overnight and the fire alarm went off 2 nights in a row. At least one of those nights was an “accident”. No maid service unless requested or you go to the office to ask for extra supplies. I would love to see this hotel maintained and succeed. After our stay in June 2020 and now our second stay in Sept. 2020 I can see some decline. I am enjoying our time in the area but I am not sure if I would recommend staying here.

Size kitchen, centrally located with a wonderful screened in balcony overlooking the canal and marshes of Apalachicola. We spend a fun relaxing and peaceful night here and we highly recommend this hotel.

We stopped for an overnight and decided to stay 2. Spacious room at decent prices and very relaxing screened in balcony. We will be back here soon.

Screened in balconies. Walking distance to Oyster City Brewing and a Hooter Brown! The people are friendly and the food (also in walking distance) is great. I get a "peaceful easy feeling" when I am here. My wife and I loved it and we will be back.

The rooms are huge with great views of the water.

I wish there were six stars to give! I was immediately impressed with this place because of the way it looked from the outside. Then, as I walked to my first floor room, I went right by the beautiful pool area. The pool is hidden from anywhere else. It’s adjacent to a beautiful wooded area. Then I walked into the room. And calling it a room is a misnomer in that it has a floor plan of a two bedroom two bathroom condominium unit. It has a full kitchen and a full living room. There are four sets of French doors that open onto the giant, screened in patio. The patio puts you literally on the river. Several boat slips line the property. The grassy and watery areas are homes to several species of birds, fish, and alligators. The “room” is handsomely decorated. Stainless steel appliances are in the kitchen, the paint colors and molding are very attractive, and the bed was very comfortable. The flooring is gorgeous. The place was extraordinarily clean. They provided a coffee maker, coffee, creamer, and sweeteners. Silverware and glassware are available. They even have a couple of muffins, mixed fruit cup, and a cup of yogurt in the refrigerator. Very, very impressive. It is located just out of town enough to be away from foot and car traffic, but is literal steps away from anywhere in Apalachicola you’d want to be.

Fantastic hotel. Fantastic quaint fishing community. The size of the unit was like a small 2 bdrm apt and the view was perfect! Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer.

Linda (front desk) is a gem! She always makes us feel welcome. Suites are huge and comfortable… feels like a home. Love having a full kitchen, living room, laundry room, two large bathrooms, two bedrooms, and a gorgeous huge patio. A lot of space for just the two of us. We can watch the birds and boats from our living room. Always great. Well worth the price.

We have been staying here for over 10 years and enjoy our stay each time. Each room is quiet and has a screened porch with great views of the water and marshes. Watch the shrimp boats come in and out of the harbor from your room!

My husband and I have been staying here since 2008. I love this hotel. This visit we had one issue with them working on the room downstairs with pretty nasty chemicals that came through to our room. I was a little disappointed but they offered to switch rooms and resolve the issue. We shouldn’t have had to been disturbed to begin with. I wish they would have offered a night of compensation but they did work to solve the problem immediately. The 2 rooms and full kitchen are convenient for our family. The screened in porch is phenomenal.

Spent 5 days here and it is one of the most relaxing laid back hotels I've been to. Staff members were always attentive and helpful. The location on the water was perfect. Quiet and peaceful. Spent the days at a friend's family reunion on St George Island and looked forward to nice evenings and mornings at the hotel. Wish I got names but I will just thanks all of you, especially my awesome check-in lady.

Staff was super friendly and fantastic view.

It was a great place to be at the time. The only setback was that the elevator was not working, so some of the older people there were forced to take the stairs.

I will definitely return to stay here again! The room exceeded my expectations and staff was very nice. My only critiques are that underneath the bed was a thick layer of dust, the hot water was coming out white and the water pressure in the shower wasnt great.

Great little place to stay! Beautifully large full kitchen rooms all with verandas overlooking the water. Perfect vacation hotel. Linda was welcoming and wonderful.

Attended the water Street festival and it was amazing! Not sure if the hotel had anything to do with it, but it was a great venue!

Absolutely loved this place. The lady at the front office was super nice and I was amazed when I opened the door to the room of how big it was and looked like a small apartment. Everything was nice and the back screened in porch was fantastic. We were able to walk a few blocks and have some great food at The Tap Room. We will most definitely stay here again for longer stay next time. ♡

Nice place, lots of good food around. No Wi-Fi in the room I stayed in, and the breakfast was 7-11 cinnamon buns with a fruit cup and yogurt.

Everything, from the small community town the hotel is located in, to the screened in back porch with an amazing view. This is not your typical Florida beach vacation: not another view of the white sandy beach; not another rush to beat the crowd; and not the superficiality that comes with it… the sort of floating high in the sky but no real substance leaving vague memories. This is a community where youre immediately drawn into their way of life grounding you. My mother asked me if the lady I just met at the front desk was my friend… she is now!

Wonderful from start to finish. Christine was a great help booking our rooms and boat slip. At check-in, Linda was an absolute doll! What a warm and wonderful personality. Rooms were super clean and comfortable. Bed and pillows were awesome. Docks were nicely equipped and padded. Thanks so much! Sunrise Marine will be back!

A beautiful old hotel located on the Apalachicola River and just minutes from gorgeous St Georges Island. The screened in porches offer an exceptional opportunity to enjoy the sunrise and watch the fishing boats leave the marina. Rooms are spacious.

This place was amazing! The rooms and view of the water was fabulous and the staff was great! Will stay here again for sure. I highly recommend this place!

So Disappointing! Loved the location, building and the staff! Unfortunately, floors were filthy, clothes washer broken, had to get new keys to open door 3 times per day, daily service would not bring fresh towels, toilet paper, paper towels or additional coffee, no foam pillows, shower was Very slow to drain,, … Perhaps with a management focus on customer service this place could be great.

Excellent place. I have been on business trips to expensive hotels in Tampa, Miami, Orlando — — I would put this place up next to any of them. Beautiful, spacious rooms. Nicely furnished. Friendly staff. Great view. Just be warned that the approach to the hotel is rather industrial / fishing village, and the town's restaurants are terrible about being open when they say they are.

I'm so glad I found this placed. We stayed several nights and enjoyed our stay. The boy's room had bunked beds but it was hard keeping him out of our bed. Staff was nice and helpful. They warned us about keeping food/drinks out of our SUV since the ants would invade. It is so nice sitting on your balcony, watching the sun come up over the river while the boats are coming and going. We will stay here again.

Stayed five nights with my Wife and kids, checked out yesterday. Ants were a small issue, we started keeping everything in the refrigerator. Room was great, staff was helpful. Skip the evening cruise with "Cpt. Jerry" it was a wrist slasher! Had to get key to ice room every day, kind of a pain. Best place to stay in Apalachicola, met folks that had just checked out of a competing hotel in town.

Very very friendly staff, the location is beautiful and could not ask for a better place to stay. We brought the boat and are sleeping on it but have the option for a room. The rooms are amazing, words could not even do it justice on how beautiful they are. We will definitely be coming back for years to come.
