Review of Grand Beach Hotel 4*

Until recently, I have highly recommended this hotel to friends and family. However, based on my last experience in Sept 2015, I will no longer recommend this hotel. The hotel has gone downhill in many ways. 1: I had tremendous difficulty with the reservations staff, they put the dates of my stay in their system incorrectly. It took 3 40 minute phone calls to try to fix this problem. I was told on each call that someone would get in touch with me from Reservations and NO ONE EVER CALLED or EMAILED. However, I did get an email from them charging me for not showing up for the incorrect date! It then took another 2 40 minute phone calls with the same explanation, someone would contact me and NO ONE DID. Finally, I was able to speak to someone who was able to refund the charge, and put the correct dates in the system. 2. When I arrived at the hotel, which was under construction/renovation, there were numerous problems. Only 1 of the 4 elevators worked, which created a 10 minute delay each time you needed to use the elevator. 3. I was originally supposed to stay at the Grand Beach Surfside, not the sister hotel the Grand Beach Hotel. I was not told that the hotel they put me in was under construction, and I should have been told this. We were going here on vacation, and it was anything but. 4. Another issue was that I had called for towels and they never came. 5. Lastly, I needed to get some help with my luggage and called the bellhop and no one ever answered the phone to come and help. Never again will I stay here. It wasn't worth the stress and aggravation.
