Reviews of Deauville Beach Resort 3*
Ramshackle. Certainly a beautiful hotel in the middle of the 20th century but everything is to be redone from now on. The aisles to the rooms are reminiscent of an old hospital. The pool is small for such a hotel size and the ponpon:theft in the room. Staff lies. Promise to settle the insurance and nothing in the end. Ha if "threats not to press charges. This hotel is to flee.
This place sucks lmao. Stayed here last year and I now see it’s closed. Surprised it didn’t happens before.
Friendly staff. Ok rooms and great views.
I’ve stayed at this hotel twice over the past few years for events. The first time we stayed, our room was extremely outdated that I was shocked at the price. The second time, we got renovated rooms. The location is very nice as it’s along the beach, but your resort fee only includes two chairs and they are quite strict about it. The sunrises are beautiful though.
Awesome Place great service good accommodations.
I'm all about reading reviews before I spend my good money. And the reviews for this place were not great, however I choose to stay there anyway. There were no towels or washcloths in the entire hotel when we arrived! NONE! Never heard of a hotel running out of towels Like WTH. Then we found blood on the sheets, make-up on the sheets. The carpet was ripped and furniture was raggedy. The bathroom was nasty. The whole place is just raggedy besides the loby, the bar and the beach. Better off staying on the strip. At least it's popping and much cleaner. Anyway, we complained and complained and they finally came and brought towels the following afternoon and did a "deep cleaning"☹ they said the hotel was full and couldn't move us. The hotel is old, needs major work and a much more accommodating staff. So that's my review! I will never stay there again.
I have been there in June 2016 and found it wonderful the service the place the cordiality enjoyed it a lot. I'll be back there on June 2018
First and last time I come! Horrible!
People are very nice place is very clean kind of high in the price but that's what you get when you want something good.
I was here for a convention in the meeting rooms and stages. The place seems clean. The staff is friendly. I did not stay in the hotel. But other people in the convention did, and I did not hear any complaints. The hotel has a really big pool area that sits right in front of the beach. Compared to other hotels in this price range, I think it is a good option. If you eat in the restaurants or banquets, the food seems attractive. The other convention attendees seemed happy with the food. I am a vegetarian. The vegetarian choices will not fill you up. For breakfast everyone got eggs, bacon, sausage links and oatmeal. I asked for the vegetarian option. The waiter said he talked to the kitchen. 20 minutes later I asked again. He said, I don't know, I already talked to the kitchen. 20 minutes after that, I asked again. He said I don't know what the kitchen is making for you. I said, I am not allowed in the kitchen. Since you are the waiter and you are allowed in the kitchen, can you please go see. 10 minutes later he came back with a bowl of oatmeal. 80% of our people had already left the breakfast and I had not started. I had noticed that another one of our tables had been getting these same bowls. I asked the waiter if he had oatmeal available to him, why didn't he bring that out almost an hour before. Later I found out that the banquets mánager had charged a much more expensive amount for my vegetarian plate.
If you don't have a lot of pretension and you know what a hotel costs in Miami, you're going to be fine. Is moderately acceptable. We were one night passing through to Orlando, not giving to be much more, there are other hotels with similar prices and they are quite better. I wouldn't go back to the Dauville because there are so many options in Miami though… I was surprised by its immense hall and its hanging chandelier. The warmth of the people who frequent him, as I felt at home because they all spoke Spanish something wonderful after days and days of dry treatment in English. It's muyy big and we had over an hour to check in. This is for my taste in an unbeatable place. But logical, it's a matter of taste, we're always farther away from the noise.
Expensive for a lousy service! Passable!
I don’t know what these people are talking about, but the Deauville is one of the best hotels I stayed in, and I can’t wait until they finish renovating. I hope it’s done before my birthday (May 8). See you soon.
You'll never see such a big Lobby in any other hotel. The beattles stayed there.
This place was simply amazing, went in 2015 had the best experience ever, my husband proposed outside at the beach of Deauville beach resort one sunny beautiful day I'll never forget this place.
This hotel is not very serious regarding the Reervcas made by booking. Com. Just 3 weeks from my accommodation date, I received a cancellation email from my reservation made by the hotel without explaining the reasons. The reservation was made 3 months in advance.
Check in nightmare. I reserved my room online, drove nearly 2 hours to what was supposed to be a relaxing evening, only to be turned away because I'm 20 years old. They told me I had to be 21, even though they didn't state this anywhere on their website or at the time of reservation. I offered to pay a larger deposit but they refused and turned me away. The woman working the front desk had a horrible attitude as well. All for the best in the end, as the front entrance and lobby of the hotel we're visibly unkept and the whole layout is a mess. Still, Massive waste of time.
Great hotel, good value for your stay. See you 018 Miami.
How are these people writing reviews on this hotel when it's been closed longer than their comments? It closed due to damages after Hurricane Irma, not a fire, not a high tide… but a Hurricane. As for dirty and moldy, that's absolute B. S… that hotel is beautiful and kept immaculently clean. The service is great and so is this hotel. Stop trying to bash the place now that it's needing repair after a disaster.
He lacks much maintenance. The rooms are nice and good size but very sloppy. Personal foul. To check in We were approx 1 hour lined up.
Good room. Excellent location Incredibly facilities!
He needs a reform soon.
— It is a hotel that has seen its best days, although its common areas are good and cared for the rooms deserve a great investment.
— The location is good, on Collins Avenue and in a very quiet beach area. The value for money is very correct.
— the hotel lacks its own parking, to park you have to go a hundred meters, to a recently built parking lot. The price is somewhat high, $30 per day, but it is the similar price that we will find all over the area.
— Look good when booking or asking for prices, as in most places in the United States will give you the price without any tax.
— Resort fee can give you a headache. It is a rate of $22 that gives access to the pool, spa, gym etc. For almost all bookings it is obligatory to pay it and there is no prior notice of it, so before booking call the hotel to confirm if you have to pay it or not.
Even if it rains or snow they make you pay the supplement.
— As for the staff, the reservation department is dry and very uplifting, the reception right highlighting Ronald and the guys in charge of the parking and the great suitcases. The best of the hotel.
— There is a supermarket right in front of the hotel, which also opens 24 hours.
Therefore this hotel is true it is not the best, the rooms have a lot to improve. It is true that its price is much lower than the rest of hotels in the area.
Apparently there was some sort of flood or high tide that ruined alot of businesses in that area. However I later on found out that this particular one was closed due some sort of fire. Ok understandable. But this is what I don't understand. I drive TEN WHOLE HOURS to Miami just to be told the hotel is literally closed. No lights on, NO NOTHING. Just people sitting outside (which the girl was very rude might I add) telling you to go to another hotel. No explanation as to why just "It's closed and here's the address". Why do y'all still have this hotel listed on 3rd party booking sites for 1, and 2 why does it not say anywhere that this hotel is closed. We get to another hotel and they didn't have any rooms! So they sent us to ANOTHER hotel. By this time I'm fuming! The lady was very nice who helped me At the Sherry F. Hotel btw… 3 hotels all within an hr of me arriving. I would never in my life book with these people nor any of their sister properties again! Money hungry! That's all that is. I wish I could rate ZERO! Update Today is 11/21/2017. The lady told me I would be receiving my refund for the first night in 2-3 weeks. I just received it yesterday 11/20/17. I took this trip 3 months ago smh. Please look else where if you're looking to book at this hotel people.
The hotel is horrible! It does not look nothing like the pictures on their website. It's old with mold on the corners, dirty carpet, nasty bathtub. It was the worst experience I read some of the reviews but I didn't thought it was going to be that but until I experienced it. I don't recommend it. The elevators would get stuck, the toilets wouldn't flush good the pee would still be there after flushing it. The only thing that was good about that hotel was the view of the ocean other then that nothing the balcony was nasty looking too.
The place I liked, had a beautiful view from the room, good location and excellent pool, but did not arrive Wi-Fi to the room, the parking was not in the hotel and had to pay more than budgeted to be able to eat.
DOOOO NOT STAY HERE! Customer service is terrible! ' The whole team is not in the same accord they messed up our check in said everything would be fine and when we got there we where told that there would be extra fees! ' The whole staff is on the phone and I had to drag my luggage up the steps I do not stay here! THEY BRIBE YOU FOR GOOD REVIEWS! I STILL HAVE NOT GOTTEN MY REFUND.
They asked for an exorbitant amount for the bail of two rooms! Mah!
20 of my friends and I, traveled here before and after our cruise. Checking in on our return of cruise was horrible. The wait for check in was 7 hours, we were harassed in the lobby because we all fall asleep. To remains you there were at least 40 girls scouts in the lobby and we were targeted. The management team and security was disrespectful, rude and very argumentative. He also targeted another couple cause her legs were propped her gut up on furniture. The rooms are very dirty, roaches were seen and the guys were not helpful to help with our bags, there are a lot of steps and us ladies had to carry everything up the steps. I was not happy with Maria the operation manager.! I will never partake in the resort again! NO STARS.
Horrible hotel with horrendous service, rooms, and employees. This place is ran by unqualified workers that don't speak English. We had to drag our own luggage to our room when they said they would bring it up. Room service is absolutely non existent, I called twice for towels to be brought to my room and it didn't come either time. When I asked the cleaning lady for one they said I couldn't have one!? The walls in the hotel is very thin so you can hear everything. There is a 30 in TV that you can barely hear, and this was in a premium room. The maids don't clean the room very well, you can see the spots they miss very clearly. We were harassed by a non English speaking worker and the manager told us to drop the altercation without even a apology from the manager or perpetrator, leave (without a refund) or they'll call the cops. The beach is operated by a third party so you have to pay for chairs and an umbrella. Do not recommend. Do not stay here.
Terrible experience terrible customer service there rooms all dirty wall all broken and pieces of tiles missing, had one of my items stolen went to front desk to complain about they did not believe me they believe the maid of course sense there is no camera in the rooms. I will never stay again in this hotel. In 4 days that I stay in the hotel only 1 times I was able to open the door. The rest of the time I had to called security or maintained or front desk from my phone to open my door. I even told the manager and all they did was apologize nothing else and she told me why was I never change rooms and I said I don't know. If you read this don't spend your money here is not worth it. Thank god my money and passport I had it on my safe in the room. This hotel is the worst. Another thing when I left the hotel returning my keys took for ever my husband was waiting outside for me and the vallet people we rushing him to move and the worst of all when we first got there they help us with our bags guess what when we were leaving we had to drag 4 big suitcase one with wheels the other 3 did not had one a cooler and a 1 year old child in our arms and even when they saw us going across the lobby with our bags no one bother to help us. Worst service ever.
We have been here 5 days and each day had to ask housekeeping for a bath, hand and wash towels. As you can see from the picture we never had to ask for shampoo and conditioner which we never used. They never changed the sheets just made the bed until we complained which makes me wonder if the sheets were ever cleaned from beginning. I can go on and on but I think you get the hint. The best part of this hotel was the beach. Thank goodness they didn't have nothing to do with the making of it.
Where do I begin? The common grounds of this hotel are in immediate need of restoration. The lobby smells of mold and is significantly aged. The elevators are extremely old and barely functional. The hallways leading to the rooms are barren and look like they are better suited for a military hospital or mental asylum. The wall immediately above our room door was filthy and stained from an air-conditioning duct. It looks like the stain had been there for years. Apparently, no attempt had been made to paint over the situation. Inside of our room, there were cracks on walls and lack of paint everywhere. The linens were the cheapest I have ever seen. This hotel needs to be shut down and completely restored. It is so sad, because the hotel sits on prime property and is beachfront. I am so sorry to give this review but it is an honest one, and hopefully, property management reads it and does something about the hotel's condition.
Bad, the truth from the check in, it took more than 30 minutes to take care of us. The staff is not at all friendly, the pool does not have the necessary amount of lounge for guests, the towels are in very bad condition, all really worn out a shame, not to mention that one must pay to be able to access this place. I asked for the bed sheets to be changed in the morning, as my baby vomited milk in it, when I returned at 21:30 pm, I see that they made the bed and kept the sheets dirty, the room was stinking, when I called the operator I transferred with deptus maids, where I continued to be processed, after my call took 30 min more to give me solution. I do not recommend this hotel at all, I have already been to other hotels in miami and the truth that this hotel leaves much to be desired, hopefully those of the management will take time and read these comments and give you solution to all problems.
Too expensive. Old room too noisy and the attic no natural orange juice for the country of Orange.
THIS IS THE WORST STAY EVER! Upon arrival the hotel is hot, stuffy and mugy. The bathrooms need a lot of improvement and the room is dated. On the FIRST NIGHT upon my friends and I leaving out to enjoy our night OUR DOOR HANDLE CAME OFF! We had to wait until maintenance to come open the door for us to get out. The manager Maria waived our resort fees for the stay and switched our rooms that night. We had to rush and pack everything and move to another room which made us miss our reservations and ruined our night. The room that we were switched to had no top linens, we had to ask for comforters, towels and wash clothes. Whenever we called it took hours for room service to bring us anything. Literally 2hours were waited to receive towels we called 3/4 times. Once we got impatient we started to go downstairs and found a big plastic bag on the floor outside with our towels in it. Which is rude, no knock or call was given to let us know. THE MANAGEMENT AND EMPLOYEES DONT CARE! Days after leaving I was overcharged and called the customer service rep was rude and wouldn't transfer me to a manager. After arguing for hours with her, sending bank statements and breaking down math she told me I would get sent back the money that never came back to me. She stated that it would take 7/10 days to be returned. A MONTH HAS PASSED AND I HAVENT RECIEVED A CALL OR MY REIMBUSRSMENT! When ever I call I get bounced around and wont be sent to a manager like I ask.
My first vacation to Miami Beach Florida, and I choose the worst place to stay for three days, and two nights. Im here now at the Deauville Beach Resort, and I'm going beyond measures by giving them one star! First off my television is making a whooping sound, most channels has fizzy lines going through them! Then this really made me upset. I ask the lady at front desk about the free continental breakfast, and she says yes go down stairs. So me and my family go down stairs, and even get a second opinion, and ask the lady working there she says oh yes this is the frer breakfast in here. Then they serve me a orange juice with hair in it. Then guest what as soon as we where finish eating it was a 75 dollar tab, after being told twice it was free! So I go back up stairs to ask the lady at the front desk why I was charged 75 dollars? At this point she wants to pull my information up, and tell me oh you have to pay. After telling me earlier it was free. This made me very angry on my second day here! It supposed to be a vacation and has been a nightmare the hole time. All day long by the pool I'm trying to relax, and just get my mind off everything that has happened. Then the whole time jackhammers, and some kind of construction is going on! I choose this place over going to Myrtle Beach, S. C. Which is about 45 mins from my home. So word from mouth can go a long ways, and I'm recommending that whom so ever reads this review don't even waist your time or money coming here!
I've rented in this hotel a few times and I absolutely love it! We stayed in an ocean view room and it was amazing. The balcony was big enough for all our friends. Very nice staff, and amazing pool with beach access. Rooms have also been very clean every time that I have stayed!
This is not the best place to stay at, I'll be honest and sincere opinion, my room was dirty, I didn't have a the small fridge that I was supposed to have, till I had to go and ask for it, the shower OMG the most annoying thing never worked to regulate the water, like I put it warm and suddenly would be burning and then super cold, the carpet was smelling like old, the TV is the smallest TV ever making some weird noise, at the entrance nobody helped me with my luggage while I was struggling because there's only stairs, all the guys that worked there were just looking at me, the entrance was hot and so the elevators, the fire alarm went nuts making it so uncomfortable and annoying (I heard them say it always happen), and not to mention I complained about the smelled of Marijuana in my whole to be more specific the next room is were the smell was coming from, worst experience in my life, and another hand the pool was so dam filthy that I got a rash in my body. But then I was charged almost a thousand for my terrible stance there, never again, they should take down the pictures they have in the Internet because it's a dam lie, why? Because it's nothing like it… I am so disappointed and hurt.
Worst hotel ever! THE AC DIDNT WORK IN THE ENTIRE HOTEL! and if any of you have been to Miami in the summer you know this is unbearable. THE FIRE ALARM WENT OFF 3 TIMES DURING THE NIGHT! and sprinklers flooded the hallways. No fire, problems with the wires or something they said. Woke us up each time, once at 1am, again at 2:30am and again at 5am. Hotel manager did nothing for us when we complained. The floors were so slippery is was not safe for people rushing out thinking there may be a fire. MOLD! The water issues must happen often becuse there was black mold in our bathroom and main room. The carpet was stained and ripped and in the corners there was black mold. Filthy! Tables were dirty, floor was dirty. RUN DOWN! The rooms, loby, elevator, halls, pool area were all very old and run down. The work the people did on the building was horrible. From the floor to the ceiling the place was very crappy. RENOVATED? If this is what they consider renovating… looks like the threw a vary bad paint job on and some new pictures on the wall and called it renovated. Everything is dated, looks like the 1980's was the last time any real work was done. SOUND ON TV DIDNT WORK! Come home from a long day and the kids want to sit and watch TV yet the sound made everything muffled and hard to even understand the shows. Called manager and he did nothing. room service food comes cold and takes almost 2 hours to arrive! the food also didnt taste good.
Good deal I did not like the toilet were required to ask about 15 pm had not made the beds etc.
Checking was easy and quick. We got an upgrade to ocean view. The hotel is directly connected to the beach. I liked the nice piano bar in the lobby. The staff was very nice and helpful.
Perfect for the price. Missing a jacuzzi…
It is nice but I don't like q $30 d Park or daily… and you have q do yourself the parqueoo hello is not funny… 2nd day there was no towel in the rooms or in the pool… No eredones. Yo bedding is not rent more…
I just booked this hotel last night for my stay in May im very kind of hesitate to stay here now with reading all of the reviews about how bad and out dated everything is. I hope and pray I get a great, clean room, with everything working. *fingers cross* If not I will be asking for a refund and going else were.
This resort was incredible, with a beach that is breath taking. I went with my husband and our kids and we all had a marvelous time. Great location! Our room was on the 15th floor with a beautiful view of the pool and beach. From the moment we arrived until we departed it was a relaxing family experience. The staff was very friendly; specially, Michael and Chris were amazing! Everything was clean and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend this resort.
This resort is awesome. Very nice rooms and perfect beach location. Prices are very reasonable and it's conveniently located near sunny isles and south beach. I would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a great value and service.
It was awful. I would recommend looking at a different hotel immediately. The service was awful. We waited over 2 hours to get towels and shampoo and then they only gave us lotion and conditioner. It was dirty. The TV didn't work. The view was awful, all we could see was a black platform. They told us one price and then charged us more. Breakfast was 20$ and not even water was free. Disappointed in our stay and highly recommend never going there.
Good and friendly service, clean rooms, all right, the appearance and atmosphere are of the ' 50's, all good.
I was hosted at the hotel with some friends, the service is very bad, no Wi-Fi signal, the penhouse is abandoned and the third floor is not in the elevator, we went to the third floor by a door and of Security told us that the next go with a Bible. In the room we heard a ghost girl singing. I do not recommend it for anything.
My wife and I stayed at this resort just this last weekend feb 19 to feb 22nd. We requested a king sized bed when we booked the room but we were very surprised to find to full sized beds in the room. The front desk was not helpful at all. We're a married couple, we don't sleep in separate beds. The front desk was not apologetic or accompanying at all, they just had an attitude of not caring about the issue. My wife and I brushed this off and decided to still make the best of the trip. We also noticed in the room that there were no small face towels at all, we had to call and ask for towels everyday. I also had to call the front desk everyday because there was a group of kids there for a convention I assume, that's fine. My room was directly next to a room that had to have 9+ teenagers in there at a time so the fact that the walls are paper thin did not help at all. My wife is pregnant and barely was able to sleep due to the noise level. Our room was also right by the elevators so we could hear everyone as they got off the elevator and laughed and yelled down the halls. The only reason I'm giving this hotel a 2 is because of the gym and the people that worked at the breakfast cafe in the LL. The gym was the main reason we picked this hotel. The people that worked at the cafe were extremely friendly and attentive. My opinion is if you're looking to relax or even get good service you should probably check out a different resort than this one.
The ocean view is spectacular
but not actualisan the quarters should actualisar bath, looks old.
Pretty bad all around, hygiene, service, quality, Internet, elevators, food, et al. Was gonna give a special shoutout to an almost entirely unique degree of unprofessionalism for a guy at the front desk, but his life appears unhappy already, so it seems not worth it. Hotel overall could do a great job but, sadly, chooses not to.
Nickled and dimed. The lobby is beautiful. That is where they got their 3 stars. Not only does the nightly rate not include your $25 resort fee, it also doesn't include parking. So for $30 per day (the "lost ticket" rate), you have to park kiddy corner in the garage named after the resort, but officially "unaffiliated. " The hotel is run down. Everything has been painted over several times. Time was cracked in the entryway and bathroom. The toilet needed a new seal and would run every 10 minutes. The pool had missing tiles. The hottub was also missing tiles and was very dated. The towel guy at the pool threatens to charge you for towels if he is forced to pick them up for you. The "private" beach accessible to the public.
Arrived from Houston. Asked us to wait one hour for checking at 4pm. We went to eat and then returned 2 hours later and now we have to wait another hour or more for their systems to reboot because they can't find reservations. On top of that you are slapped with a 30usd per day parking fee. Not even offered some form of courtesy voucher for food or drink while we wait. Just told us to go outside to see the beach — in the rain at 6pm lol.
Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. Awful customer service and outdated amenities. Great place to visit for a drink, would advise you not to stay the night. Not only did they assign us to the wrong room but they called us after we went to bed to tell us about their mistake. They tried to force us to come down to the office to get our new room assignment. We refused and they eventually came up to our room to walk us to the new room. When we arrived at the new room it was dirty so they took us to a third room and although the third room was definitely an upgrade the attitude of the manager combined with the inconvenience was unacceptable. To make things worse my 5am wake up call didn't happen. I would avoid this hotel until they figure out how to treat customers better.
It's easy to see this was once a beautiful hotel… that was many years ago. Stayed there the week of 12/6/15 and much of the hotel was a disappointment. The average rooms are clean but spartan. The whole hotel has a clinical feel to it. The walls and halls would be more at home in a hospital than as a hotel. The ice machines didn't work on any of the floors except 12. The small TV sits on the desk so your laptop blocks it if you want to be on the computer while you watch TV. Perhaps the most troubling was the underlying smell of the place — which I can only describe as chlorine, urine and disinfectant. On the positive side, the beach front and pool are lovely but for the money, there have to be better places to stay.
Took our wedding anniversary (1st one) & we loved it. Very Clean & friendly staff. Will return for 2016
Ok but too expensive and the tax of $20 not justified for the services offered! Everything stops very early even when we're in Miami.
They charge additional 20dlls internet and amenities! However the pool service is not anything good and elevators are very slow!
I stayed one night at this hotel and what a horrible experience security won't stop knocking on my door saying there were too many noises coming from our room, I guess we weren't allowed to laugh, about the fifth time they complained I decided to call it the night. The balcony was uneven on one side and I didn't feel it was safe so I stayed away from the balcony. The room was a bit dirty and old looking but I was there for one night so I didn't want to make a big deal out of it. However after we checked out my husband forgot his Cologne on the bathroom counter we called and they said house keeping didb't find anything in the room, I was a bit sad because I got him that Cologne a few weeks prior and I paid almost $100.00 for it and he only used it a couple times it was a 3.5 ounce bottle of Cartier Declaration. They told me to call back in a few days but when I did they still told me no one found it. When I was leaving the room the house keeping lady was apparently cleaning the room next to mine I even said goodbye to her so I guess she didn't clean my room and she never saw the cologne? How dishonest people can be no one sees an expensive Cologne and throws it in the garbage. Customer service was not help full at all and I never write a review on anything and I don't like to complain but I just had to say this, if yr looking for a nice hotel on the beach pay a few $ more yr gonna be happier because u get what u pay for this is not worth it.
Where do I start? Check in. I reserved a room to check in at 4:00. Got in to start process @ 3:55. My room wasn't ready, however, for 30 dollars more a day, they said they had a room available with a view of the bay… I already paid that, but it wasn't showing on their system… I asked if I could be checked in anyway, by then it was 4:00 already, but no, I had to do the line again (about 20 people by now, and 2 agents). At that point bell boy approached with my bags, that were taken by him from my car, and said they had to be taken to v deposit for my safety, for a fee of course… I took my bags to the car, where I am informed I have to move my car… Back to check in line, in front desk you could see every customer complaining about some made up fee. Finally, after paying an extra 19.95 resorts fee a day. Get to my room… Door wouldn't open, I was showed, they is a trick to get it done. Door is soo heavy, you better be abody builder to open it with no hassle.
Deauville was amazing. I just spent a week with my girlfriend and almost everything was perfect. There was a few minor issues that keep it from a 5 star. The TV in the room was sub par and must of the channels gave a weird audio feedback sound which made any down time unjoyable. There were no sockets by the bed so charging your phone and using while relaxing will not happen. They also don't provide any heavy bedding which overnight in the AC can leave you uncomfortable. On the positive side make sure you get a balcony room. The view is absolutely breathtaking. Moonlights on the water, soft splash of the ocean. Perfect. Hotel is right on the beach so its convenient and the staff is great! Collins ave is only a short drive from south beach so the nightlife is available as well. Deauville is the hotel to be!
We staid here for a weekend for my sister in law bachelorette party. We arrived to the hotel at 3PM and the front desk guy was excellent, he checked us in at time of arrival when we was supposed to wait till 4pm. At first I was kind of scare due to the reviews, but from my own experience this will be my next hotel to stay at once I go back =) I loved it. Every day our room would be clean, bed was nicely mad, new bed sheets every day. My only bad experience was with the front desk GIRL who's name I don't remember. The next day I saw an extra charge to my acct & I walked to her to get an explanation of to what the charge was, I didn't even finished talking when she rudely interrupted with an attitude. Other than that everything else was perfect. Loveddddd ittt!
No one is too expensive for the state… Had to be well… 30 years ago…
It is a disgust ase on Sunday the 26th I come back from miami to my country and it sucks not carried us toayss nl us limpiavan the combining and charge you asta for breath and think of q to pay for it all and came out almost 10, 000 us the desalluno had a taste of cockroach is disgusting.
Booked this hotel for one night before going on a cruise, it was dreadful. They were doing construction in the room right next to ours for hours. We complained to the front desk and there response was, "You're only here for one night. " There is also a surprise 20$ "Resort Fee. " Don't book here. Take your money elsewhere.
I don't understand why so many horrible reviews, this is my go to place everytime I stay in Miami. Maybe you people don't understand that for one, this is an old historic hotel, so it's not new. Also, for the view and the location and the price, you're not going to find anything better. You are obviously here because you can't afford anything better so stop complaining. Complaining about elevator waits? Come on, there's 17 floors what do you expect? Another thing, I watch people walk up to the check in counter with crappy attitudes and expect the staff to cater to them, pfffft. Good luck. I am always nice and patient with the staff and in return they are ALWAYS nice and accomodating. I had to wait 20 minutes for someone to go get our room ready quick and they gave me free drink cards worth about $40, they also never charged me the resort fee. My recommendation is to shell out the few extra bucks to get the oceanfront room because the view is breathtaking. Beds are comfy, my A/C worked great. The pool is awesome and is feet away from the beach, the chairs and umbrella you get are nice also. The cafe in the front is lovely in the morning for cuban coffee and breakfast. Also, the parking fee isn't bad considering you are in Miami people, where parking is next to impossible. They don't make the price, that garage is privately owned and that is what they are charged. Your trip is what you make it, so learn to enjoy the beauty and quit looking for reasons to be unhappy.
I went to Miami a couple days ago for the first time. I have to say that Miami is beautiful! But if I could go back in time, I would choose a different hotel! I had the worst experience in this "resort". Awful experience since we arrived to the parking lot! First, They didn't have parking space available. Checking time was at 4 pm! We got there at 12 and for that reason they didn't let us check in. We went back at 4 and they still didn't have our room! There was this rude lady named Kathrina, I believe she was a supervisor! She was rude and gave us attitude when it was their fault not having our room ready! She didn't apologize or bother to say sorry! Instead she gave us the worst of the costumer service ever! We made our reservation 2 weeks in advance! The point is that the people that work there don't care about their guests. It took one hour to get our room! When we finally got to the room the key wouldn't open the rooms door! I had to go back to front desk! Again, they were so rude! The elevators are a nightmare! I wasted 20 to 30 mins trying to get to a different floor with those elevators every time I used them! And let's not talk about costumer service because it doesn't exist there! And last but not least, check out is at 11 am! It was not 11 am yet when a lady from housekeeping went to the room to ask what time we were going to leave! Excuse me? I thought check out was at 11 am! Wth! So it's okay if they don't have the room ready for guests to check in at 4pm!
SKIP THIS ONE! This has been the worse hotel I have ever stayed at! It was one problem after the other since we arrived here. 1) Upon our arrival, they told us that they DO NOT provide valet parking, that we had to park our own car in a parking garage one block down the road. When we showed them our printed itinerary where it offered that service, then they agreed to valet park our car. 2) We had to WAIT THREE HOURS before we were able to get into our rooms because they DID NOT expect to have so many people this weekend. No apology or anything in return to compensate for this inconvenience. 3) The picture that shows a wooden table with a separate table for the TV is false. Our room only had glass ONE table. When we put our items there, the TV was completely blocked out. 4) The A/C didn't work properly. We were sweating all night. 5) Even at checkout! The hotel instructions said to dial 3101 or 3102 to check out, but when I called, they said we had to MAKE A LINE to check out. 6) The elevators are a joke! You have to fight your way to get into one after waiting for a long time for one to finally become available. 7) The room was filthy. Needless to say, we booked for two days, but our experience was so horrible that we left the next day. When we spoke to the manager, there was absolutely no concern, they told us that because we reserved through Expedia, that we had to deal with them. They simply DO NOT CARE.
Im not really sure on how to rate this. Well we arrived and yes the hotel is beautiful and our room was as expected. We were told at check in that there was a holding fee of $290.00, but when checking my account they had took that along with $163.00 and two charges of $98.00. When we spoke to a hotel manager he said there was a glitch in the system and if were able to contact my bank the will reverse charges! this was on a saturday night at 9pm, what bank is open and I think they knew this! And they didnt hold any money they took out of our account so thank god the funds were in there! Luckily my bank was able to refund me the charges all except the 290.00 but I have to wait 3-5 days to see what happens with rest. But other than that we had a really nice time but wont be going back there.
Wish I could give this place 0 stars. Not only was it outdated, but my room was dirty — the type of dirty where you want to wear shoes the whole time you're in the room. I wish I could have relaxed by the pool, but the bar was BLASTING music at a volume I haven't heard since my last college party 10 years ago. Want to use the internet, or go to the pool? That'll be an extra $20 per day. Bringing a car? $30 per day to park it in a sketchy garage on the next block. Want to talk to an employee about your concerns? Don't bother, you'll just be greeted with blank stares. Do not let the photos fool you, this hotel is dirty, outdated, overpriced, and has horrific customer service.
A single word to describe this place, HORRENDOUS. This place is not only overpriced, but horribly outdated. There was no valet, customer service was as good as non-existent. Me and my wife waited behind multiple cars until we noticed that people were getting down and throwing their keys into the parking booth and going inside the hotel. So we got out and left our car parked on the ramp like everyone else momentarily because they told us we had to park our car in Walgreen parking lot (across the street-there was no room). It was an absolute disaster. We then went to the front desk after getting wet in the rain to complain about the disaster in the front of the hell hole of "resort" and were met with a long line of people complaining about the same issue we had and other issues in the hotel. This hotel is an overpriced disaster. We had to park in a hotel nearby and RUN to this shit hole IN THE RAIN! My sincere advice: If you are very relaxed and need to stress yourself, and need aggravation. Book a night here.
I decided to take the time to write a review for the Deauville because I cannot comprehend why it has been given so many low ratings. Simply put: you cannot get a better location on Miami Beach! The Deauville is just the right size: grand without being grandiose; posh without being self-important; understated enough to be the perfect getaway yet in every way without imposing a host of burdens on its clientele to 'live up' to some bogus affectation. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, but given that you are not likely to be coming here to live indoors, they are not at the opulence level of an AKA residence for World Bank movers-and-shakers. The light inside the rooms is exquisite until the artificial lighting becomes necessary, when it is basic eco-sensible — — but still abundant. The individual heating and air conditioning units are what they always are in a place where the outdoors can tend towards an extreme: you have to figure out exactly what your own ideal setting is. Do you really need blankets in Miami Beach? Bring comfortable pajamas or a light robe if you prefer to chill your room down to 68 degrees or less. Makes sense to me! And the sheets, by the way — — those sheets that so many lamented were all that was covering the beds — — are of a superb texture, wonderfully soft and conditioned by the launderers to the perfect degree of polished silkiness, so they feel like damask.
The WORST hotel I ever been in! Big, UGLY! and bad service. My room was filthy! they didn't provide any blankets beside a dirty old brown very used cover. the carpets was so stained and dirty, I put my shoes on the whole time! the hot tub promised was out of service! 2 elevators were out of service. no real coffee in the room. NO BLINDS, so you wake up with extreme light right into your eyes around 6:05AM! ALSO they charge for $154 and when I got home, I notice they added charges and taxes to $220! PARKING IS extra $30! STAY AWAY.
The last three times I went to Miami I stayed here. Its always nice and clean with friendly service. The lobby and pool area are amazing. The last time I went I go the birthday package and the maids and management brought up a beautiful cake, and wine and sung Happy Birthday! When I go back in October I will be staying here again.
Right in the center of things, this place was great during the World Salsa Congress. The rooms were nice, but not spectacular. The conference facilities, pool area and main lobby are fantastic though. You can access the beach directly from the pool area which is very convenient.
The location was excellent. It was not far from the places my friends and I wanted to go and the cab fares were not expensive to get there. The view of the ocean was gorgeous and I loved it. The room was very clean and housekeeping was nice. One thing that I did not like was the damage deposit that they but upfront to your card in addition to the amount for the room. They do not tell you this on their website or on Expedia. The deposit is $50 per night and you get it back after you check out. The amount of time it took for housekeeping to bring extra towels was ridiculous. I enjoyed practicing my Spanish while at the resort and would recommend this hotel under special circumstances.
The hotel is horrible for the following reasons: 1) we Arrived and we were told that we had to pay 20 dollars daily mandatory for use of the beach, swimming pool and Wi-Fi (which disconnects all the time). In sum we asked for 100 dollars for the days that we had, and another 100 dollars we retained collateral of the card. 2) The beds were not what we reserve. We had to sleep in separate beds 3) The room was not cleaned throughout the day, I feel that we left that day at 9 AM and went back to 17hs. We had to claim the service. 4) the attention of the staff, especially reception was very unpleasant. 5) The view of the sea was tiny 6) Conducted a tournament of sauce, and from the room 427 we could not sleep the whole night! 7) the room is old, little clean, does not have good ventilation and don't have a closet! In sum. Please do not take this hotel.
I recently had a large dinner party by the pool deck and it was a beautiful setting! We were a party of 45 people and the hotel arranged a cocktail at the tikki bar right before. Great drinks and the bartender was very friendly. The waiters were attentive and the food was delicious. I had a great time and would definitely come back.
I would like to commend for the wonderful service we received during our wedding day. I was very impressed by the overall performance of everything: food, decoration, staff and service. Thanks Conny Ragone! You made my dream wedding happen! Rest assure that any future events that my family or friends need to have in a prestigious hotel, the Deauville Beach Resort will be the first on our list.
Hotel was booked thru Expedia. The pics of hotel, lobby and rooms were quite elegant. However once you get into the room. Boom, big mistake! Unclean, broken coffee maker, poor housekeeping, no clean towels. Came back to our room one evening and the door was ajar. Housekeeping failed to pull it closed! Hotel staff very unfriendly. I would never stay there again NOR recommend to anyone. Oh and one more thing, no microwave in room and when requested one, we were told it was against city fire/safety code to have one in our room. I checked and that was a lie.
I was there three days and I thought it was excellent, the staff is very attentive especially the buttons. The room was always clean, with all of its services, if provided more cafė give it without charging you more. A great place to relax and take a walk.
I didn’t know what to expect because of mixed reviews, but glad took the gamble! My room at The Deauville was clean, comfortable, and had nice ocean views. I don’t drink, so didn’t check out Tiki Bar. But I did hit the fitness center and then the outdoor pool to relax for the afternoon. The peaceful atmosphere makes it my kind of place. If I'm ever back in Miami Beach, I'll use it again.
I recently had the pleasure of going to this resort and will absolutely be going back. It is by far the best value on Miami Beach directly on the ocean. The property is huge, with an enormous pool deck and bar, just steps from the Atlantic. It's also great if you're looking for a quieter trip to Miami Beach as I was with my family. It's close enough to South Beach and Bal Harbour, but far enough away to where you're not in all of the noise and traffic. I found the parking garage just across the street from the property super helpful. Parking at other hotels is such a disaster. And finally; the rooms and views were fantastic! You're so close to the water that you feel right on top of it! The same stay in South Beach must cost 3-4x. You just can't beat it. Can't wait to go back.
My husband and I planned on sightseeing all over Miami Beach in our short 3 day trip. But once showed up at Deauville, realized that we didn’t need to travel elsewhere during the day. They have everything we wanted: beach access, nice pool and bar, and spa. Well, my husband didn’t care about the spa, but I definitely took advantage of it! If only I could receive a daily, or even weekly massage on a normal basis, sigh. Oh to dream, but I guess that’s the point of a vacation, to pamper yourself. Also, with the resort’s stunning art deco architecture, we loved it.
Pesimo service, came with the confirmation from my country and I was told that by that came with the paid booking they gave me a room in the basement, room had smell of humidity, windows gave to the wall and there was nor shampoo in the bathroom, when you claim I pointed out that I had to add $ 50 per night if you wanted something better. I do not advise you to take this hotel, they will say that the location is good, but for what one receives as a client is preferable to be in another place where treatment is better.
The hotel is well located on the beach, the food is good, but presents a weather of maintenance, old carpets, but when go to the pool area a place beautiful but disastrous, dirty the floor, dirty and abandoned jacuzzi, pool is a mucre, green walls, dirty floor and odor in the water lack of total abandonment in the area. The tiki bar workers are very nice. You must take into account the importance of hygiene for children.
This is my second stay at the Deauville Hotel, my fiancé and I arrived to be greeted by a very friendly receptionist, who explained that if we didn't want to use the facilities then we didn't have to pay the resort fees, which was great as we didn't intend to stay in the hotel during the day. Our room was a city view room, but had a beautiful view over the beach as well, the room was very clean and tidy, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff very hard working, and very polite, they all spoke good English, nothing seemed to be much trouble for them. The hotel along with its history was a pleasure to stay at, the foyer was amazing. Once again we would like to thank the staff and management for making our stay such a pleasurable and memorable occasion. We will certainly be returning for another visit.
I was there nine days for a tournament of football in Miami, I thought it was an excellent, very central location, I never charged more for using the beach, the rooms seemed quite pleasant. The only bad thing was the internet no Wi-Fi signal reaching the room.
Worst Hotel on my trips. I do not recommend this hotel. Noisy, beds and hotel are not worth the money you paid.
I do not recommend this Hotel. People make way too noise and the Hotel is viejisimo. Not worth paying for something that does not work.
Vacationing families. The best hotel for your money).
Value for money OK. Maybe some more vacuums in the hallways wouldn't hurt.

RespondThis is the worst hotel in which I ever was — and I was already in over 100!
My car was stolen the valet parking service — I never got the promised refund of my stay charges and 10 calls the "customer service" have changed it so.
miserable.
