Absolutely disgusting room, I’ve stayed at hotels all across the country often, and this is by far the worst room I’ve ever seen. Not cleaned or even vacuumed. Spoke to management, sent pictures and asked for the room recleaned. Someone came back to “clean” while we were gone and the beds got made. Nothing else. Horrible. Several, several dead bugs all over the floor.

Total remodel clean and great location.

Rooms are clean friendly people enjoyable time.

This gem is located at the most convenient place. Close to groceries, and many of the best restaurants in the area. The accommodations are in impeccable condition. All new appliances, fixtures and the entire look and feel make it for a very special location.

Perfect experience from check in to check out. Ended up booking an extra night. Fresh towels without having to ask. Brand new, immaculate rooms, & exceptional views. Renovations are still in progress, but it did not interfere with our stay at all. We will be back!

This place is amazing! Your own private beach and the rooms have amazing views. The staff are so kind and service minded.

Had a wonderful time. The room was clean and the office stayed in contact with us daily for any needs.

We come down to Islamorada from Sarasota a few times a year and spent 8 days here. The updates are absolutely fantastic and the person I come down with owns many hotels in Siesta Key. He says they are sparing no expense. All the hotel staff has been extremely helpful and friendly. I'm so happy to see it coming back to its former glory. 5++++++ stars in our opinion.

I will say that the construction at the front scared me upon entry, but so far our stay has been really nice! There are some minor adjustments that I would make to the rooms, but they are mostly cosmetic with minor functionality benefits.

Beautiful place directly on the ocean…

I'm truck driver. I have something to delivery to Chesapeake resorts from Canada. Right now it is close for renovation. After unloading they allowed me stay inside with my truck. Now I have private beach! Not too many people. Weather is marvelous! Thanks Chesapeake!

Chesapeake was severely damaged from hurricane Irma and is undergoing a major renovation. Once complete, it will return to a first class resort. The resort is set on beautiful grounds right on the Atlantic Ocean. There is great charter fishing right next door at the Whale Harbor Marina.

The people in the next room/adjoining had no consideration for anyone! They made all kinds of noise till 3:00am when I finally had to call TJ to resolve the situation! When I advised Caesar in the morning, he didn’t offer any solution or compensation! The chaos continues to 2nd night also! Unacceptable! The ONLY good person was “Momo” the housekeeper, she deserved a raise! Would not stay at this so called “resort “ ever again! We were in room 205 this Easter weekend!

Everyone there was very friendly, rooms were very clean and nice.
Indeed I will come back there for vacation time.

This place still needs alot of repairs from the recent storm, the beach was closed, no rental equipment to enjoy. Please don't trust the pictures that are advertised. I wish they did not list there hotel as a resort. However, the front desk staff were very friendly and showed great customer service!

Could be a good motel but the fact that after the hurricane last year they didn't even try to repair the motel is a big disappointment… only one pool was available and the beach was closed… on the website nothing like this was told so I had been really disappointed.

Most of resort is still under major construction from the Hurricane last year. Its perfectly located for fishing form the nearby marinas but if you are looking for child activities or a beach to lay on (its locked and closed to anyone) then look elsewhere. I wish the staff all the best in getting back on their feet.

Not great. Staff were helpful. Hotel room was dingy, really loud air conditioner. We weren't told ahead of time that the beach was still closed after the hurricane.

Most of resort is closed due to hurricane Irma (September 2017). Just one pool, no pool bar, no access to the beach. Hotel owner doesn't care this hotel at all (he has few other hotels too). Reception stuff was friendly and helpful.

I mean, I get it. Irma did a LOT of damage. I’m not knocking the reconstruction of the place. But, my breath is cooler than the air that was coming out of the AC. That’s ultimately by biggest complaint. That, and the bathroom walls had obvious cracks in them. For goodness sake, that isn’t a hard repair.

We booked 2 nights May 18 and 19, 2018 and were charged over $400.00. This "resort" is horrendous. There was mold on the ceiling and curtains, (a huge health issue) beach access was locked, tennis court has no net, is closed & covered with sand, & the air conditioning unit is located high above door which required standing on a chair to control it & it's very loud! We got no sleep, stayed 1 night & checked out. We are hoping to be credited for 2 nights. This place should not even be open.

I was very disappointed as many months after the hurricane it appears they only have gotten the one building close to the roadway functional. There is no access to any of the beach or beach front buildings and it appears that no renovations have started. I am not a boater, but was told by the family next to us that the marina is also completely closed off. I wouldn't have booked if they disclosed this prior to booking or on the website. Very poor/short sited business practice. On the building (rooms) that are open. They're dated but very clean.

Terrible Place Expidia Stoll My Money.

Repeat guest for over 10 years, but not anymore! Called to confirm our reservation in a few month and was informed they are under new management and no longer have my reservation or my $200 deposit. What a rip off. Who would buy a business not knowing who their future reservation are? I would give them a zeros starts if I could have. I know 75% of the people who stayed during the same week we went were also long time guest. Some have been going there for 30 years. They are going loose a lot of business and tarnish their reputation by not honoring previous reservations. I would avoid doing business with these crooks!

Under construction! new ownership No pool no Beach access. Didnt find out until we got there even though I called a month ago to ask since I figured Irma tore up! Cesar at the front desk is extremely rude when we arrived! Better off staying elsewhere in the next couple of years. That's how long it will take to renovate resort according to the manager, Charlene who was not helpful in resolving anything at all. All the other staff were very friendly and helpful. Valerie, Tamika and Jonathan were especially pleasant and made the otherwise disappointing stay worth it.

VERY Dissappointed! Paid $208 deposit for 11 day stay in July '17 for March '18 vacation. Was told under new management and no record of my deposit or reservation. Lost our $208 deposit. BEWARE! BTW, we've reported the rip off and will be staying at Breezy Palms Resort.

There’s a LOT of damage from last year’s hurricane, so most of the resort is closed. None of this was disclosed when I made my reservation. The AC was blowing way too cold, I went to the front desk and was told to “get a chair and manually push the buttons”. The AC unit is above the door and has a remote, which didn’t work. The power button on the TV remote diesnt work. Room is old, bathtub is all chipped up, porch screen is torn. Seriously disappointed.

Total rip off! Shouldn't even be open! None of the amenities they brag about on the website are available. They told us to give them a year and things will be better. Really? A year? Traveled 1200 miles for that? Not even making an effort to clean it up.

At the moment the beach cannot be used.

Unfortunately, the plant is still devastated by the last hurricane.

May I suggest you call resort before you book. Very disappointed in our weekend stay. Severe damage to resort from Hurricane Irma with lots of amenities not available at this place. With new ownership and major renovation, we would have found different place to stay. Lots of debris still laying around that you can see from small lanai off room very close to noisy HWY 1. No breakfast available. One pool closed and other not heated. No beach access due to construction. AC works but loud, must climb on chair to adjust and runs constantly. Had to call security to please ask guests to turn down loud music that were very loud. Not worth the price we paid! Would have went to different place but limited to other resorts since your in the Florida Keys.

Booked on Travelocity. Checked in, room ceiling had mold scattered across the room, bathroom totally runned down, front door needed worked on. Went down got a room change and the new room was just as bad plus the chair had stains on it. I totally get that this area was just hit by a major hurricane and the outside showed it. Which I completely got and didn't care how that looked. But the interior rooms and the support of the staff definitely should have been better for 191$ a night! Hopefully they listen to these comments and make some much needed changes. Please don't waste your time and money.

I Can’t wait to come back to this resort after the total remodel. It has so much potential. The public needs to understand that there was a potential catastrophic hurricane here in September. These people are in survival mode and if we want the Keys to survive we need to support their business and not trash them. Keep in mind most resorts on the Ocean side were heavily damaged. Our room was very clean and comfortable under the conditions. Also because
many properties being closed good luck finding a vacancy. Thank goodness The Chesapeake Beach Resort is partially open with nice clean rooms to stay in.

Warning! This place is open but in COMPLETE transition after the hurricane. Things are chaotic and none of the amenities except the pool are available. There is no beach access and it is generally noisy with work going on around the hotel. It's functioning more like a motel at the moment. The hotel website does NOT make any of this clear and we were duped into staying here. Our complaints were not adequately addressed. E. G They are not giving vouchers for other resort facilities, nor are they honest about the fact that the place is a construction site right now.

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was nice and the complimentary breakfast was actually breakfast and not continental. We'd stay here again.

The room was very nice, but we had a very hard time finding the breakfast room in the morning. The location is great, as it is right on the water has amazing sunrise views.

Stayed for a wknd getaway and we loved it! Not the newest, fanciest resort, but very nice! We stayed in a premium ocean view room and it was very spacious and clean with an AMAZING view. The grounds were well kept with a postcard view. My only complaints would be the breakfast, which was marginal, and the tiki hut hours which were too short. Other than that… we will be back!

Beautiful location. Comfortable rooms. Free breakfast. Close to all bars and restaurants and attractions. Two heated pools, so they say. Tiki bar.

This place is so cute. Has a beautiful view. If you are waterfront. Would love to come back. Next time with a boat since there is a boat dock.

Excellent resort. Nothing fancy, but clean and nice staff. Breakfast included was great! Use of kayaks and bikes, which we used a lot. Views from almost every room. Very family friendly, our kids had lots of other kids to play with while parents relaxed with a cocktail by the pool. We'll be back every year!

This is the most coolest place ever. My husband just retired this year. So we thought we would celebrate and come down on our Harley bike through the keys. This is such a romantic little Hideaway I can't say enough about how much I love it. You never want to be in the room and you don't have to be! The view is breathtaking, the Dolphins and the friendly staff made it really great, not to mention the most comfy bed. Our favorite place ever to vacation.

Wife and I stayed for a couple nights with our young kids with a garden view room. Friendly service and great value. Beautiful waterfront scenery and very nice swimming pools. Room suited our needs and the free hot breakfast did the trick. We'll be back!

I am almost afraid to part a good review as this gem is something I want to keep to myself! First year staying in this resort and it really has the feeling as if you have the place to yourself. Rooms were well stocked and clean, plenty of room for sunbathing either at the pools or the ocean side and great amenities. The only downside is no real beach to swim in the ocean, but after seeing all the sea life with catch and release (nurse sharks, snappers, sting rays) I am good with dipping my toes in the ocean and swimming in the pool. We had a great time and can't wait to come back.

Clean, comfortable rooms with nice views, decent breakfast included, excellent location, beautiful grounds.

Great local resort at affordable rates. The grounds have plenty of activities and areas for lounging.

Room has nice view but staff is rude. Everything closes way early. Pool closed at 10 pm in The Keys? Crazy. Tiki bar closed too. Asked for 12pm checkout and rudely told NO. Will never be back.

Beautiful place… friendly staff. We especially enjoy the water activities out of Bobby's shack on the beach. Highly recommended!

Spent a great week at this clasic Keys resort. Comfortable, clean villa, beautiful grounds and great hard working staff. We'll be back.

This resort is nice, quiet and clean. You are on the beach and have a choice on which accommodations you prefer and how much you want to spend. If you are not planning on spending alot of time in your room you can go the motel route, if you want Ocean View and/or more space you can go with a suite or villa. There are two pools and a hot tub, hot breakfast and sports activities available. All in all a pretty nice place to rest and relax.

When I pay for $100ish hotel room, I know what to expect. If I paid $200ish (tax & others incl), I do not expect a $100ish-like room. This hotel has no difference in quality comparing to the cheap hotels. Rooms are very small, carpet never clean, tub disgusted with the seal over mold and extremely tinny. It is one of those rooms you really do not want to hang out. Two people can barely move in it. There were some broken structures which were major hazard. Also, please note, there is NO BEACH. It is water front but you can NOT walk into the water. The free breakfast are was as small as the bedrooms and have no charm. I chose this hotel due to the good reviews and ignored that one bad review… which has it right. Not worth the money and will never come back.

Very nice clean area very clean rooms also the backhoe was beautiful and fishing was incredible. Caught three sharks and release them back also had a great time on the kayaks and the service was amazing the guy at the shack was great A+ haha.

This resort is nothing like its advertised. The entire resort is run down, not well taken care of and the staff very unfriendly especially the front desk staff. We had a 4 day stay and from day 1 the pools were both very dirty and cloudy. After I complained for 2 days, they finally had the pool service come and clean the filters and add chemicals so finally on the last day we were able to use them (Also you need to walk to the very front of the resort to get pool towels and then walk back to return them, or they will charge you. They won't even let you bring them to the room and leave them for room service). The rooms are run down, dirty and smell like mold which they try to cover with bleach. Furniture dated and stained. TV's old and the master suite TV is like 12". Shame that a place with such a prime waterfront location, doesn't take care of the grounds. You would think with all the money they charge, they can pay staff to properly do their job. I would never stay there again. We drove just a little further south and found a real resort for the same price so we booked our next vacation there.

This past memorial day weekend (every other hotel was at maximum capacity) we were fortunate enough to secure the last room available in the area at Chesapeake Beach Resort! The staff was great, the room was fantastic which made for a great weekend! Although there was a slight billing mistake, the hotel staff, namely Lawanda was extremely professional in keeping me updated on the reimbursement and also extended a complementary future night stay with them. This type of service is what will bring me back to Chesapeake for my future visits. Thank you for keeping your customer service on par with the best hotels and resorts in the keys. Erik.

We never left the resort the first 2 days as the kids loved the paddle boats, kayaks and I took them all sailing on the catamaran. We caught several fish and a sting ray in their bay. The fruit salad at the free breakfast, fresh. Florida cool, Stevo.

Excellent time. We stayed in a King Ocean front. Awesome view and bicycles, kayaks and paddle boards are free to use. Room is nice and updated. Newer TV and a cd/radio in room. The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful and Definitely would reccomend.

July 2014 marked my 2nd visit to Islamorada and my 2nd visit to Chesapeake Beach Resort. From the time I decided to go back to the middle keys for vacation, there was no other choice for me except Chesapeake Resort. It's small, quaint, beautiful and has the most unbelievable view. When I return, I will definitely stay at Chesapeake Beach Resort. No other hotel or resort will even be on my list.

I had a great weekend stay with my sister, brother in law and my niece and nephew ages 6 and 9. There was plenty to do for all of us, and a lot of relaxing places for when we just felt like hanging around. There are also beautiful views to look at. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the price is very reasonable. Kayaking and paddle boats are included with your stay, and you also get a continental breakfast. I would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

The best $400/night villa was outdated, dirty, bathroom was gross, simple thing like metal rail inside villa between the rooms that was thin and cut bottom of bare feet. Not worth it at all. Then there is the main reason we chose this resort was because of the watersport items pictured in website and when talking to receptionist on the phone I wanted to confirm they had enough kayaks and Paddle Boards to go around with limited time I wanted to be sure of this. Got there and there was ZERO paddle boards and only single person 200 lb. Weight limit kids size kayaks. Both my parents whom I purchased this trip for could not use any of the provided items because they are kayaks ment for CHILDREN. Guy at watersports desk was an absolute RUDE PERSON, talked to me like I was some kind of "watersports" NOT SMART PERSON. Needless to say I live on gulf coast of florida and own 3 kayaks and paddle boards so i'm not some NOT SMART PERSON tourist who wouldn't know the difference between the large size TRIBE kayak pictured on the website and the ALOHA piece of garbage kayaks he had on hand. keep looking, this place sucks. All attempts to complain to a manager have been un-answered. Wording may sound weird, but I had to edit it to get it accepted.

The rooms are super small, it is not worth the money.
