Calles around midnight to see if we can check in because of our last minute plan. Guy I talkes to said yes. We drove 2 hrs at around 1am and arriving at 3am. Guy suddenly says we can't check in until 3pm. Dude is obviously dumb. I said we'll be there in 2 hrs when I called him. He kept saying yeah and suddenly saying no when we get there. Never going back there. Checked in Paradox instead. Much better than this place. Terrible service with poor surroundings.

This place is horrible! Where to start. 1st the tweeker that was on property that followed my mom and when we went down to get peper spray from the car he walked up the stairs and sat on the banister at the corner of the stairs right at the elevator on the 2nd floor. I went and told the office people she did not understand what I told her multiple times. Finally she tells what looks like her husband to come out of the other room and they asked what room he was in and he changed it multiple time while still crazy talking. The guy finally came down the stairs yelling and making threats. 2nd The doors do not have the extra safty lock on them which is probably needed. 3rd there is all kinds of buildings boarded up all around here. 4th the pictures are very misleading on line. The room is small there is no table as shown the mini refrigerator and microwave are the newest thing in here. There's a drawer missing from I'm assuming it's supposed to be a dresser. 5th the bathroom is old mismatched the bathtub was dirty with somebody else's hair. Look like someone painted over the tub and is now peeling things are broken like this soap holder you look up at the light and there's paint That's moldy on it. Just out right disgusting.

The rooms were gross and this hotel really needs an update. It’s an okay place to stay if you’re coming for one night and there’s nothing else available. The staff were nice until we pointed out that one room smelled like smoke (my friend was pregnant and couldn’t be in that room) and when they switched rooms for us they didn’t check that the ceiling looked like it was about to break down. There was a gross water bubble there and lots of damage. When we told them, they called the manager which was really rude to us. We definitely won’t be coming back. The only thing we liked was that it had a jaccuzi which was pretty tiny though.

Great staff nice location rooms are perfect fridge micro new flat panels. Has a old italy feel open always open veranda just nice great price.

Rooms are small and not very comfortable, room service did not clean the room we stayed in wich was annoying. Would stay again if there would be better service.

This place is very dated and the rooms are small. Towels are pretty dinky. The maid didn't make up our room so that was disappointing considering we paid $150 per night. The pool and spa are okay but you have to bring your own towels. The continental breakfast is basically danishes, bagels and cereal. There was fruit but a lot of it looked spoiled. It is really close to the beach boardwalk and stores/restaurants so that's pretty convenient. The staff is friendly as well. And even though the rooms are small it comes with a decent sized mini fridge and a microwave (old fashioned microwave though).

Can I give ZERO Stars please? Worst hotel experience ever. Run! Don't stay here. Rooms are outdated and dirty. Staff rode and unhelpful. Breakfast? No, barely. Its coffee and a bagel. No toaster. Room 221 is a DEATH TRAP! My room had plastic cups plastered over the sprinklers with mold in them, plus no smoke detector. (See pictures! ) They agreed to let me switch rooms and put me in a room with a bed which had been peed in and sheet hadn't been changed. Yuck.

I had a good experience, nothing out of the ordinary. A basic hotel in an area near the beach and historical Turisticas.

This place doesn’t even deserve 1 star, checked in to a disgusting room, mold, dirty beds, unsecured locks and horribly stained bath tub. Outside was a bored up building and a man living out of his car in the parking lot. When I told the front desk person I wasn’t going to stay the manager PAUL rudely said he was still going to charge me for the night and his rooms weren’t dirty! This was almost a week ago and I’m still trying to get my money back from that night. Now he is avoiding me. If your going to have disgusting rooms AT LEAST have good customer service!

The bathroom was sooo dirty, the alarm started sound with no sé de, jacuzzi was like a bad joke! Never go there.

I stayed here last night and now I have bites all over my body from bed bugs, the staff was friendly, the room seemed clean for the most part, unfortunately they seem to have bed bugs. They will need to replace all of their mattresses and blankets, and get an exterminator in order to fully get rid of them. Please be weary of this if you choose to stay here I have now been up for almost 24 hours as I can't sleep due to my entire body being horribly itchy… Really unfortunate because I would have stayed here again if it was not for this.

Area is run down with the walking dead around all night, but the rooms are decent and the price is OK also has a secured indoor pool and spa.

Nice, quiet, and was fully ready for myself and 3 others last minute. Highly recommended for an inexpensive, last-minute stay in Santa Cruz, just a few minute walk from downtown!

Most of the other reviews are on point with how I feel. The pictures cover up the realization of the place. Absolutely horrible. Floor was so gross I was scared to take my shoes off. So much more I could write about but to sum it up DONT COME HERE!

This place is not safe. Rooms are dirty. Bathrooms have mold around tubs and toilets. Pool is filthy. Emergency fire exits are locked and blocked. Fire alarm in the room was not even working nor plugged in. Don’t waste your money here.

Kinda sleezy place. Next night went to Best Western up the street.

Wasn’t expecting much since the price was reasonable, HOWEVER, the room was a huge let down. Upon opening the door, we were greeted with an overwhelming stench of wet dog and cigarette butts. The bathroom was in disarray with unfinished repairs in the drywall and other unidentifiable stains on the walls. There was a cigarette burn through the comforter. The carpet was stained throughly like a lumberjack had stomped his way home after a long day in the mud. The hotel staff refused to change our room and would not refund us our money. Save your money and your time and find another cheap motel in the area.

Motel 6 has offered nicer rooms… and better experience. I placed the do not disturb tag on the door… so they decided to call me… granted… used the place just to sleep… but still. They should have more pride. In their property and what they have to offer. Gave it a three start… because after all… it served it's purpose.

Person at the front desk barely even looked up and acknowledged us when we came in. The entire hotel is run down, which wouldn't be so bad except that it is also extremely dirty, including the rooms, which smell. And our bathroom had a bunch of black mold as well. Pool area is dirty, and the pool has many cracks in it. The sauna was also disgusting. I could go on and on but I think I prove my point. reviews and score online are definitely misleading. Do not stay here if you can help it. It is definitely not worth saving a few extra bucks.

Absolutely disgusting and pictures hide how bad this place is. Paint peeling off walls and in a terrible part of town. Exactly what you expect from a "cheap motel" if that is what you are looking for.

I swear this place is something like a one star motel we paid 260 something for a one night the pictures they post on here are lies the rooms smell things are torn up in the rooms I took pictures so people can see the real rooms wouldn't recommend it the good reviews here are probably people who work here to brainwash you. This is like a 100 a night motel it's not fancy parking sucks the rooms are trash out bathroom flooded. I stayed on 8/12 we requested a 2nd floor room and of course they lied saying they didn't have one. When they had told us that we would get one Again I don't recommend it lights don't work widows sick I'll just post pictures so you can see how bad it is.

Management pleasant. Hotel pretty clean. If it was updated, the atmosphere would be romantic in the Arabian Nights way. It is a low budget safe place to stay, unfortunately the price tag ďoes not match.

Queen rooms are over pool (no outside window) which seemed cool but my room smelled like chlorine so I paid extra to get a king room on the outside. Carpet was splotchy but room was okay. Very nice bed and tv. Fridge and microwave. Easy access to outlets. Soaps were all tea and honey scented but not tested on animals.

Do not stay here! The inn is more of motel. Yes, they are pet friendly, but that's just about all they have going for them. The rooms are in a median state of disrepair and ours smelt strongly of cigarettes (I have an allergy and my throat had closed up by morning). The motel advertises as smoke free with a hefty fine for smoking so this was very disappointing. The room looked like it was decorated in the seventies and hadn't changed since then (the wear on the bedspread was appalling). On the subject of the bed; it was like sleeping on cardboard with pillows that didn't even fold they were so stiff. The bathroom was another story. While it was relatively clean, the walls appeared to be unpainted and the bathtub was coated with a permanent non-stick coating that was disintegrating in a disturbing manner. In addition to all of this, the walls are so thin, you might add will be sleeping in an ancient Japanese hotel with actual prayer walls.

Well just don't go in with expectations. And I asked them if they can do $30 less than they quoted me and they said yes. But it was dirty in a pretty suspect area. Can't really walk to the boardwalk so just stay somewhere further that's nicer. Paint chipping, rusted shower head, chipping in the bathtub, CRACKED toilet seat, bad attempts at caulking the counters, one small window over looking an apartment complex which had multiple that were boarded up with no trespassing signs and garbage filled pickups. The only reason I didn't do one star was the people were nice.

Rooms are a bit dirty. Paper-thin walls. Pet fee is $20 per pet every day. Remote doesnt have batteries (normally doesnt bother me) but the buttons on TV didnt work for me either. No smoke alarm in room. Random nasty rotting smell in one corner of the room and no sugar or creamer was ever left in my room after it was cleaned… Youre stupid to think that it is even in a good location. There are always crack heads walking around this area. Do not book a room for this hotel.

We liked the room decorations and the free Wi-Fi. The room was clean and fairly large file what we were expecting. The breakfast selections are underwhelming though. Pretty much bagels and some fruit and bread for toast. Very limited selection.

Great location. The staff was super friendly. I arrived in town earlier than I planned to and they let me check in early. Will definitely be staying there again.

This place had the hardest bed I've ever laid on! For 120 dollars a night, that room was horrible. I almost wanted to sleep in my truck instead. I made reservations to bring my kid to Santa Cruz for the weekend to have a lil fun for her birthday, but instead I ended up with back pain. MISERABLE! And the spa had so much clorine, it burned my eyes, and the pool was salty. As soon as I checked in, I could not help but notice the overwhelming smell of a sanitized intensive care unit. There was a hypodermic needle down by the pool, and the cap was in the water. Very unsatisfied! This place has seen their last dollar from me.

When I first came, I went to the office after already reserving my room online and they tried to tell me I never reserved the room and good thing I had my confirmation code because they tried to tell me to pay 250$ when I reserved a 120$ room! Second we went down to the pool area which was really small and really dirty, floors were coming apart nothing like the pictures. We started the Jets in the Hot tub and it foamed up with a ton of bubbles. It was a bunch of bleach, burning our eyes and bleached our clothes. While we were down there, there were hyperdermic needle caps! Not just us but we heard several people talking about how bad their rooms smelled like piss! And mold! We finally went to bed and woke up with backs hurting. Jail beds are better then their hard brick beds and fake head boards. Don't do NOT go here. Oh yeah and your breakfast includes danishes that's it. I would recommend this to my enmie.

Overall it is a great hotel. They have a very friendly staff. The pool and the indoor spa were my favorite. If you are looking for quality and good price they can provide that.

I took travel alot as another reviewer wrote but anyone that gives this place a good review must be paid to do so. The rooms smell horrible; the ceiling in the bathroom was falling in; the window couldn't stay open without putting a hangar in it. Everything in the room was so old and dirty. This place should be condemned. The pictures and the reviews don't really tell you how bad this place is. We left after one night because we couldn't get another room. The management denied our refund of the other 2 nights which I'll take up with my credit card company. Anyone that stays here is being robbed. Third world countries have much nicer accommodations. This doesn't deserve even one star.

For a motel this place wasn't bad. I usually prefer hotels, but being that they were all booked out due to an event, we settled on this place. The young lady at the front desk at check in — while attractive — was clearly unexperienced in customer service skills. We choose to book a single king bed — we had just enough floor space to set up a blow up bed and a kid cot for our 3&7 yr old. The only thing I really didnt like was the toilet/bath combo. Very small. The pool was a welcome feature for our kids too.

I really enjoyed this place. Great location, very comfortable rooms and the warm pool was fantastic. I enjoyed a later night swim in the winter. I would highly recommend this place to you.

I've read some criticisms of the hotel. Here's my experience: I travel for work all year and stay in roughly 20 countries throughout, so I've been to many many hotels and continue to. People expecting luxury and opulence for $70 bucks are delusional. What you want at that price is to know what the pros and cons are, if it's clean and in a dangerous area. Id say it passes all those with flying colors. Rocky and his wife really look after the place (new management as of a month ago) Rocky was vigilant and present. I have a fairly fancy motorcycle and he told me the best place to park it and kept an eye on it. There are cameras everywhere. The bed was very large, the cable sufficient, and food nearby. The pool was warm, the spa was great. Part of the charm of a cheap hotel is its quirks and there is a few, it was totally fine. Yes there are some lower income families in the area, but you don't feel it much. And hey those families are human beings. And homeless people occasionally, but they are typically harmless mentally ill people down on their luck. I traveled to Santa Cruz and stayed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I thought I was going to spend Christmas day alone. A friend called last minute and invited me to come celebrate up north with him, and although I had stayed past checkout and rented another day (Christmas) and had stayed a couple hours. These folks refunded me my money so I could go enjoy the holiday with a friend. THAT is unheard of.

Nice indoor pool and staff but the security deposit of 300showed us that they have monitarily issues with the locals and they can't afford mostly to stay for that cost. That is the upside because every patron was seemingly ice but I didn't want to walk outside of the hotel looking at the homeless losers miing around for a vulnerable working law abiding man like me to confront and either stop and take my. Ello gongs much less injure me whenciwouldnt want to comply and give my hard earned $ to a person that has no manners or education and zero reality to the value of a dollar Since work ismamcourmlertermword where jails are a free meal and are around dreaming drug addict Liars who have squandered any possibility of making an honest living while god forbid stay married And raise a family while teaching the children right from wrong and that a good Days work isn't punishment it's a way to build self esteem and a reputation of trustworthy and one who has pride and skills enough not to feel the Need to commit Sins Daily by taking what's not theirs to begin with and could potentially hurt someone showing true colors of never growing up and never amount to squat which as a man I couldn't imagine being labeled a person not wanted to be around or invited over for fear Of personal property disappearing and though not actually getting caught always having the doubt I the back of your mind of the guilty feeling for that person right or wrong.

Hotel was fine, friendly staff. GHETTO Surroundings. The neighborhood is LOW class. My Brother in law had his bag stolen by one of the neighboring houses and the guy refused to give it back and threatened him. If you stay here park under lights, lock up your stuff and do not go outside at night. The neighbors are seriously ghetto.

What a fantastic hotel. The woman at the front desk was so helpful and accommodating. I've never felt so pleased with a hotel. If you are looking for a five star resort, then feel free to go dish out that kind of money for it. This hotel offers a great room for a great price. It was clean, nice flat screen tv, fridge, microwave, super comfy bed, great location. I didn't want to leave! I will forever be grateful to the woman running the front desk for her kindness and when I come back to visit this is where I'll be staying.
